My name is Eddy Lissens. All my career I have been working at the Leuven police where I was chief of motorcyclists. Then I joined the RLVB, which is now Belgian Cycling. There I started to work as a motorcyclist. And now I’m an information motorcyclist. I have always been a cyclist. When I was young, I used to race. I have 52 victories. Then I became friends with Lucien van Impe. Then I stopped racing and retired from cycling for a few years. My friendship with Lucien led me to go and watch the races. I went with Lucien. We meet commissioners there. They know Lucien and asked me to become a commissioner. I took it into consideration. I wanted to find myself in the world of racing. That’s how I became I became a national commissioner. So this all went through Lucien. First of all, you have to drive the bike well, control the bike and know how to move in the group. The second thing to watch out for is safety. The safety of the riders and yourself. This is very important. Welcome to all of you to the safety briefing of the Belgian Championship in Middelkerke. We have to be early for the race to follow the safety briefing. This is the briefing with the motorcyclists, the mobile flagmen. This is followed by a briefing with the college, with the jury. And then we go slowly to the race. All I’m looking forward to today, is a safe race. May nothing happen to the riders, or to us. The passion for cycling must be in the genes. As an information biker, we are close to the cyclists. We are in front in the group. We are in contact with the riders. It’s really fascinating. Without having a preference for one rider or another, it’s an interesting job. We are very visible, especially with the two wheels at the front. It’s better on the road. It’s a good motorbike It takes corners well. Yes, I like riding it. But it’s the motorbike that makes the difference. The seat is very comfortable, also for the passenger. It is perfect in all weather conditions. A motorcycle informer is actually in the lodge. We have a VIP seat, if I may say so. We see the race unfold and evolve. We see who is working in the peloton, we see who is working in the lead. It’s a place of honour.

    1. Good job Yamaha YT team. Putting English title and video description and embedding video without English subtitles or voice 🙄
