My bikepacking trip around Rocamadour from the 12th to the 14th of August 2023. We went from Toulouse to Souillac by train. After a quick visit, we cycled until Rocamadour for around 30 Km, where we set camp. From there, we visited not only the beautiful old city of Rocamadour, which seems to be hanging out from a mountain wall, but also its surroundings. Next to the town, there is a forest with many monkeys, where they grow before they can repopulate other areas of Western Europe, such as Southern Spain. Also nearby there are some rather unknown resurgences, which are outside accesses to a flooded underwater cave system. It’s one of the best cave diving spots in the world, offering very similar experiences to the Mexican cenotes. Last but not least, on our way back we made a small detour to visit the Lacave cave, one of the biggest caves of France, filled with breathtaking rock formations and underwater lakes offering unbelievable reflexions of the ceilings and walls and UV-illuminated areas, which caused the tips of the stalactites to glow in the dark with a bright hypnotizing blue hue.

I used a GoPro 9 action camera and a DJI Mavic Mini foldable drone to record the clips and take the pictures shown in the video. I used some audio effects from Freesound and I used Canva to do the thumbnail. I used the YouTube Audio Library for the background music (Calor Blanco, by Cumbia Deli). I kept adding letter boxes to the most cinematic moments of the video (120 pixels from top and bottom).
