hello it is once again a Friday that I’m recording the Friday video on the day but today I have got Megan who you may remember from uh when she visited everine um 6 months ago it was in October it was quite recent actually and David her fiance who are visiting from New York and we are on our way to versailes where we’re going to do all the typical Versailles things obviously but I’m also going to show you guys um one of my favorite bits of Versa that not everyone does so uh yeah we’re walking to go get the train and head out to veril [Music] in [Music] one 30 minute train ride and one 20 minute walk and a slightly long wait through the security we are inside versailes and it’s actually really nice cuz I haven’t been inside the Chateau for at least since before Co at least least four or five years uh I have been here in the meantime but I’ve been here doing the nocturns that they do every weekend in the summer in the gardens which I think I am going to do a video about when Laura and I go this year we go every year and it’s it’s so amazing it’s like a big party in the gardens it’s so great uh but I think I will do a video about that in the future I don’t know if it’ll be a Friday video or a patreon video but we’ll see anyway we are not going to start off going into the Chateau we are in fact going to start off going too which is a part of our side that I don’t think gets enough credit and is certainly not as one chatau most of the people who come to visit versai just go in the chatau maybe in the gardens and they totally Miss tray and it has a fascinating history so um that’s going to be our little outing today is I’m going to take you guys with me to Theo [Music] I haven’t actually been to Chan in several years and I have forgotten that it’s it is a bit of a long walk there is a train that you can take but I’m really glad that we walked because it’s beautiful it’s a beautiful day and it’s a beautiful walk so I feel like I’m getting an an extra experience in here’s your option if you don’t want to walk walk you can take this small train it only takes a few minutes and it cost the grand is the larger of the two Trio Chateau that are small Chate found within the grounds of Versa it was built in 1687 for King Louis the 14th to have a more private place to pursue his affair with Madame deont spa and while the idea was to get away from the main Chateau the luxury it came along for the ride because inside it is Absolut abolutely gorgeous which is why both members of the royal family and later the Imperial family of Napoleon chose to spend significant amounts of time at Trio in other news the chandeliers are amazing and I really need one got to jump don’t miss the little details like the carvings on the intricate furniture and the tiebacks and embroidery on these gorgeous curtains I just want to point out this trim work here because this is something I really want to try it every this is actually a wood trim that’s painted to look like marble I think that the color in this really pops out and actually makes the marble illusion more convincing I really want to try something like this at everine maybe not trim but something maybe maybe even a Furniture I don’t know yet but it looks like it’ be really fun to play with I read that Trio is designed in an Italian style and when you walk out on this walkway you can really feel it but then you look over into the garden and that is a 100% Versa Garden unmistakable it makes me really happy that even at Versailles they can’t keep up with all of the projects to make everything perfect it makes me feel a lot better about some of the things I haven’t done at ever de [Music] we’re walking on to our next stop which is the second and smaller of the two Triano palaces the Triano [Music] the Petit Trio was built in 1758 for Louis the 15th but it’s more famous for being a particular favorite of Marie Antoinette it was given to her by her husband Louis the 16th and she immediately made it her own by renovating all of the grounds and Gardens after the French Revolution Napoleon restored the palace and Gardens first for his sister Pauline and then later for his second wife the empress Mary Louise and then in 1867 the empress yene the wife of Napoleon theii converted the P Trio into a museum dedicated to the memory of Maran toinette the first of its kind remembering the former Queen when you walk through the PE tro you can really feel a homy feeling it feels more like a house than a palace the peo and the grand Trio are gorgeous and well worth a visit but I’m going to finish up by showing you something that is really unique about this part of ver this is la de or the Queen’s Hamlet or small village this was a favorite Escape of mar Antoinette and her close friends to escape Court life and feel like they were in a small village in the middle of the countryside this tiny faux Village was built between 1783 and 1786 members of the Court might be invited for dinner or to view the various buildings of the village including the working Dairy the model Dairy the Fisherman’s Cottage and the guard house the tower overlooking the lake is called the marbor tower and referenced a popular song of the time the H also included a functioning Farm a little ways outside of the main village and although is a popular rumor that Maran trette and her friends would play at being very let’s say Posh Farmers that’s actually a myth and the farm was instead meant to be an educational tool to show the children how people lived outside of the Court as well as the basics of farming and this is not in the history but I’m going to guess also just some cute animals because you know kids The Village had massive repair Works done by Napoleon and then again in 1930 a massive restoration project was undertaken but the farm almost disappeared during the course of the 19th century until it was reconstructed in 2006 as a home for Animals looked after by the foundation for Animal Welfare Goose not included walking through this little village that was so important to Mar Antoinette I feel like I get kind of a sense of who she might have been as a person and how she might have viewed her world well I think that’s where we’re going to leave it for today because this is such an idilic spot I don’t think I can top it um it’s been such a lovely day of visiting the gr the ptit and the it’s if you come to Versa honestly see the shat the chatau is stunning but don’t miss this because it is really an amazing experience in itself uh before I go I’m just going to remind you guys to please do remember to subscribe uh what a surprise I’ve never ever said that before uh but seriously subscribing really really helps with the YouTube algorithm and with keeping you guys up to date on all the different stuff that we’re doing at Everdine and all around France and places like this uh and also uh if you subscribe then maybe you could also also click that like button uh because that would be uh very helpful as well and finally I want to say a big thank you to our patrons whose names are at the bottom of the screen right now because the patrons you guys are the best you guys are helping out in so many ways and it’s really nice interacting with you guys and if you want to become a patron and interact a bit more with uh me and laurant and the helpers and Megan and David and all the crew around here then uh there’s a link to the patreon in the description and uh with that I think that’s pretty much covered it all I’m going to have a little sit down and rest my feet and I will see you guys next time

    1. Hi to Megan and David! Glad you’re in Paris. Cara, this vlog is very French, from the video to the audio. It sure makes me want to get back!

    2. The Sun King! Loved that market I wish I had access to that for sure! Another great video just amazing what a place ! I love it that you take us to these places and see things. It's wonderful. You should have so many more subscribers. I don't know why you don't. But I tell you you will. She is jones-ing on the chandiliers! I can see the headlines in France now: Ariel artist swings from the chandaliers and in a ploy to Escape to Everdeen with several of The Sun King's Chandaliers……will she succeed? Details at 11pm! Catch her red haired and red handed!

    3. This project reminded me of Woody Hyezmar's Bible somehow…, although you can currently get it at no cost, the projects are worth a good look. Maybe try go’ogling his latest.
