We were delighted to receive contact from the team at the “Trials Bulgaria Experience” to ask us if we fancied riding “anywhere we want!”

    So we did.

An honest review of an incredible albeit liberating style of riding trials. Imagine having the chance to ride out of your front door? Truly mad! Twin that with some incredible hospitality and decent bikes and we have ourselves a very good time on two wheels.

Well, that’s how it should work. Find out if that is the case!

We also get a chance to really abuse this opportunity to have an in-depth look at the TRS (TRRS) ONE R 250 and its ability to provide the “experience” of this trip and the trial’s value. I am unhappy to report that the TRS didn’t stand up to our man Danny. take a peak and see why..

hi I’m Danny Butler welcome to Bulgaria and this week we’re going to be checking out what you can get up to when you’re in Eastern Europe and there’s no rules whatsoever because we’re here for the Charles Bulgaria experience and this it’s TR [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] tube [Music] now we’re here at the Moto camp and this is kind of like a base of operations for when you get here to Bulgaria so if you’ve ever wondered about coming on an experience like this what happens like where am I going to sleep what am I going to eat uh all of these things don’t worry they take care of everything and the hospitality has been amazing and especially the food but motor Camp is actually a very famous destination in Bulgaria for adventure bike riders people making the big Excursion across tarmac to um well you know ride some far away and trust me we’re in the middle of nowhere I just burm my head so after coming down from the digs uh which you know everybody gets their own room um and being picked up at the airport when I got here you very quickly realize that Bulgaria is really really warm so if you’re coming out here thinking to yourself oh are we going to freeze or what should we pack pack light um bring a jacket of course but honestly yesterday was boiling I am delighted that what the filming that I’m doing right now is allowing me to do this in sort of slightly overcast conditions but I’m sure the weather will get better it’s already threatening to uh turn into a [Music] sauner [Music] he [Music] so when you actually get here we’ve just come from Moto camp and uh down to the home base shall we say you’re actually presented with a fleet of 2022 TRS 1R 250s and uh there’s also one extract uh which we’re going to be talking about in a little bit because for any of you that have tuned into tribe usually I don’t get to do a lot of TRS reviews and here I’ve got a big line of them so I’m going to make the most of it we actually had a day ride in them yesterday so I could get used to the local area shall we say and some of the terrain and um well what can I say it’s hot it’s dusty and it’s pretty good so let’s check out some of the Machinery shall we so here we have a very lovely TRS 1R obviously the 1 R the second step on the shall we say the roster for ts’s bikes for 2022 2023 obviously going the trs1 the one R the RR and then the TRS gold what you find with this bike is it comes with all of your average mod cons Tech Forks orager shark Brak Tech brakes but as a platform to ride and be very very friendly for the user this TRS 250 I found yesterday is super useful but at the same time gets the job done they’re not exactly a rocket I’m not going to say it pulled my arms out all day they are a very very smooth delivery of the power obviously the one all coming with the Dunlop tires not with the melins but apart from that got some nice bits on there like the S3 pegs and uh what can I say it will do the job nicely especially as a rental bike out here in Bulgaria so after riding for quite a while up the uh Rolling Hill SL mountains of Bulgaria it brings us to I guess our first stop cuz it does take a while to get to the riding areas so you do get a real good wealth of uh bike time I can definitely say that uh but I thought I’d just make a quick point the bikes that you’ve actually presented with here at Charlesburg area are the eurospec bikes basically all the bikes brought into the UK are shall we say dumbed down for us uh you know obviously slow reacting British people in the mud um which means the TRS 250 that we’re riding out here is a little more is a little more fiery than what we’re used to also they smell amazing cuz the fuel out here is just it’s just better now there’s huge scope here at Charles bug area for uh different riding areas in different places different terrains and um yeah different styles of sections so what we’re going to do is I never get the chance to review a TRS 250 and uh we’ve got this nice one art like I said they haven’t done a lot of the bikes they’ve still got pretty much a brand new Edge on the tire and I’m going to try and put through its Paces on a little bit of a section to show that well you can ride any level here at Charlesburg area and yeah I think uh we’re going to see if we can push the 250 to its limits as I’ve got a definitely a definitely a national level section to uh to have a little go at right my little 250cc friend let’s see what you made of okay let’s party so starting off nice big step to get into the section you’ve just seen me stood next to it and I am a very short 6’2 so nice off cumber slippy down bank now and I say nice I’m in the opposite we a um right first thoughts I say first thoughts but I’ve WR it for about two days now so uh I can’t really call it first thoughts out and out the TRS 1R is a smooth friendly 250 that you will enjoy riding all the way up to Road National level the bike is forgiving and if you really want to to find grip in the slip this is your boy great in a straight line also going up stream beds and stuff like that really good for that the 250 is down on power when it comes to the bigger stuff I feel like I’m absolutely ringing its neck uh but I’m used to a bigger cc so I’m not surprised by that whatsoever all in all solid platform I said it before on the TRS review uh I like the fork angle I I like where my feet are I like where my hands are in in conjunction to my feet and it rides super modern this is the bike I feel that gas gas never got to release um the aluminum frame feels rigid and it feels like a really quality item as you ride it round it does a lot of the work for you I’m going to be honest uh but if you want to do some of the big scary stuff then just buy the more powerful version that’s all I’m going to say uh but like I say as a lone bike I’m still having a great trials experience at a place I don’t know by the way there’s no rules here this land is not necessarily owned by anybody you’re just in the middle of nowhere it’s insane uh and the TRS 1R is what can I say it’s doing it for me right lunch now just in between all of the um shall we say Charles Bulgaria stuff or being out here uh I’ve been very fortunate to come across this little beauty this is a TRS xtrack which are a big thing out in Spain in all fairness a lot of people seem to enjoy um having the slightly bigger seat longer range tank um the engine characteristics are a bit softer the carb on this one’s different than the trs1 RS they come with a Keenan this he’s got D Auto um basically these style of trail trials bikes um like I I said pretty popular out in Spain and France and uh this one’s the I guess the spare bike or the bike um if somebody’s got you know some form of difficulty and bending their legs or or basically if they want a more comfortable ride then they ride this bike um people often think that these these style bikes are a new thing they’re not a new thing gas gas made something called the pampera years ago in the ’90s and beter also made something called the beta Alp so you can see that montessa also did something called the long ride which is I don’t know after the year 2000 they put it onto the 4rt but not many people know that the 4rt is actually just a um it’s a trail engine anyway that montessa and the guys at HRC have had to tune up to make it usable for trials but what can I say you don’t see these bikes very often but they’re quite a cool thing I guess having a tank that big would be absolutely horrendous to ride any high level trials but if you’re using the bike for a bit of pleasure and riding around then uh what can I say the seat can be a godsend [Music] [Music] myself this oh we had a big in s a thorn bush so after a couple of days riding here at TR bu area we’re um we’ve come to a point today where we’ve basically traveled to the summit of uh I’m going to say the summit of the country cuz I feel like I’ve never been higher up um but a quick uh should I say left turn into review town and Sor have sent me over some uh lovely new dry Flex gear to test out whilst I was over here and on the first day I actually wore the you know the tri tube lyro pants that you see me wearing or enjoy seeing me wearing depends on your persuasion and honestly on the first day it was red hot here because the temperature is somewhere normally between 30 to 35 at this time of year and I was sweating buckets um but since trying out this gear uh I’ll give it a good battering today as well because I’ve actually done a lot of walking and a lot of kneeling down thanks to ts’s Fantastic rear linkage as I actually uh riding along the flat Believe It or Not snap the rear linkage of the TRS so the the clothes had a good test I’ve been lying down on the floor trying to help fix a bike or put it back together with chewing gum and um yeah not sweaty quite hard wearing comfortable you get a pocket nice one right as we always do on trial tube um we’re try to do an honest review of every trip that we go on and I feel like over the last few trips that I’ve gone on a few people have commented and said well he’s always going to give a positive review because he’s been bought out there and you know he’s having a good time and blah blah blah and that’s just not me in all fairness I’d rather people just have an honest view of what goes on so I’ve taken a quick committee decision basically I’ve gathered three of the guys that are out here on the experience riding the bikes enjoying their time in Bulgaria hopefully and we’ve had a huge amount of riding so far chaps but I guess we start out with what brought you out to Bulgaria um it be experience raing experience riding experience trying something new going somewhere new variation variation yeah cuz obviously all you guys are from Scotland so it’s mostly wet weather stream beds mud and mud ter weather good food good food wherever you want you can go vir any definite sense of Freedom the sense of freedom on the bike so yeah definitely I think uh for anybody that comes and tries out the um Charles Bulgaria experience I think something that actually shot me quite a bit was basically you can leave the home base and just ride out the door right and yeah go riding it’s yeah you really are exploring um I mean right now we’re on the side of a mountain the land’s not necessarily claimed by anybody it’s just we’re in the middle of nowhere right yeah it’s just there um and I suppose more than anything as a as a group of you all in the same riding group I’m guessing jents yeah yeah yeah so as a a group of friends coming out to do the experience it works well it work abely excent we’ve all learned of each other some have got more strench and others got weaknesses and I think over the last couple of days we’ve definitely all leveled out rating improved the riding’s improved riding’s improved honestly you do spend a lot of time on the bike though right in a day yeah yeah it’s they are pretty long days you get on the bike what time do we start this morning should we say tennish 10ish so tennish and the time now in Bulgaria is 20 to 4 and uh lunch yeah well we just had a bit of lunch so just as a quick one um we mentioned very briefly a second ago um the hospitality at Charlesburg area by the way is absolutely fantastic to the point where they can’t feed you enough and they can’t ply you with enough drink right yeah yeah that’s what you want if that’s if that’s have the for everything yeah um accommodations first class and meeting other bikers you know touring bikers adventur bikers that’s that to me has been another added bonus no it’s it’s it’s cool to see you don’t have to necessarily be into trials you can just be into biking yeah yeah that’s that’s it it’s yeah in Juro Adventure the experience in Juro it’s all very similar every group’s suited to the people that’s there so if you want to just drive the bikes around the mountain and they’ll do any trials then that’s fine you you or slop play about some rocks and then move on to the next I’ve noticed that obviously you guys have carried flags with you and you’ve been setting out some sections so so you can you know you can make it pure trials if you want to and you can also just I guess enjoy a trials trail ride around what can only be described as the a mountain cuz yeah yeah we’re definitely on top of a mountain um something you’d be looking to do in the future again guys definely absolutely there was no pause there so we’ll take that from that you know like I say I don’t even know these people they have nothing to do with me this isn’t my opinion it’s somebody else’s um and last but not least um what do you think what do you think could be improved funny I was talking last night to gam about this um I honestly can’t think of anything and I’m being deadly deadly honest the bikes for me are first class the helmets boots all the attention to detail having your name on the equipment that type of thing accommodation spotless food absolutely Mitchell and star I would say I mean don’t any disagree it absolutely phenomenal and the rid in one man in rock beds and next up the top of a hill in a forest and then you’re helping somebody break fix the break of the bike you know it’s so vared it’s just got everything so yeah absolutely loved it yeah we did have we have one little little breakage today but that’s got nothing to do with trib area that’s solely to do with TRS and uh as a channel we’ll be feeding that back to the uh manufacturer who I’m sure will as always listen to my valued opinion [Music] no no judging now I’m back from Bulgaria and honestly I thought I’d come out for a nice leisurely ride um alongside Ben Butterworth which you can catch that Next Episode by the way and I’m going to tell you the good parts about game Bulgaria good part number one the whole experience the flying out there the being picked up the food the accommodation the hospitality the overall ride around basically everything about it is good there’s no bad the the guys who meet you there fantastic the food is incredible cuz it’s ran by a guy who basically owns a restaurant and a bakery so oh and it by the way his Bakery is always sold out because it’s awesome um all of that amazing the bikes pretty good TRS 250 obviously you would have seen earlier on in the video where I put one through its Paces big time these are higher bikes so they’ve they’ve had a bit of life but they’re very very wellmaintained as you would have seen from the video earlier on bad part if you go in the middle of summer it is red hot also there’s a few bugs out in Bulgaria that may actually try and eat you alive so uh keep that in mind and pack or pick up some bug spray in the airport apart from that if you want to go as a group of lads out to Bulgaria instead of riding in joro for a change try out the trials holiday because honestly it was awesome and you’re going to see some of the most incredible scenery you’ve ever seen in your life it’s you it really is a free-for-all you just ride out the door and have a good time so that’s that my overall uh take on that is great experience they didn’t pay me to say that before people start giving it the biger in the comments um and yeah I had a nice time so thank you to all the guys at Charles bul area for basically putting up with me for a few days apart from that thank you for watching trial tube as always we’ll be back with our next episode which believe it or not is a take on the modern twin shock um I say modern twinshock because like it’s me and Ben Butterworth riding out of our skin uh it’s the reason why I actually cannot ride this bike now because we’ve just filmed that and I’ve just got on this and it just feels like a rocket um as always like share and subscribe it sounds uh pathetic but Tri tube is now the one of the if not the biggest TRS YouTube channel on the planet there’s no one more surprised than me so uh you know not too bad for somebody who definitely isn’t very good on a bike as always all right thank you and I’ll see you in a bit two seconds let’s see if this works you know I’ve just been starting some twin shocks that work everybody who loves carbs now is in the comments cheering ah hey up there we go I’m going to try and pull off now without wheel spinning I mean I’m not very good so here we go oh oh oh who who whoa whoa whoa whoa who whoa whoa whoa whoa oh

    1. Great review, but I'm biased because I live in Bulgaria. A superb country for any type of 2 wheeled caper! Met Danny, along with all of Roy's Trials Bulgaria clients at MotoCamp Bulgaria. All great blokes. Not to labour the point, but Roy's bakery and restaurant serves the most excellent sweet things, bread and food. Will be there again tomorrow!

    2. Love my 2022 Xtrack 300! That rear linkage yoke thing has been known to break on these. As riding season is winding down, I'm going to service the bearings on mine and inspect it for cracks.

    3. Did some riding with Rob, amazing chap and so friendly. And the scenery and rides are something else. There is no getting bored as it changes so much

    4. Just brilliant riding abroad and getting away from the scottish greasy conditions up here, that sounds fantastic to me lets face it the trials bikes get a hard time up here on the rocks and harsh conditions !!! im liking the idea of trialing abroad for sure ?? thanks for planting the idea danny .. Well done another great video !!!! ( would love to take my own bike tho ) !!!!!
