Every night, expert motorcyclists with the word “BLOOD” written on their reflective jackets speed from hospital to hospital in the United Kingdom to pick up and deliver emergency medical supplies. By day they are electricians, lawyers, priests, and pilots, but by night they are the Blood Bikers. More than 1,500 volunteers provide coast-to-coast coverage, carrying everything from blood, platelets, and plasma to breast milk, vaccines, and surgical equipment.

    1. tried to start a motorcycle medic program in nyc years ago. harley davidson was even willing to donate the bikes. But the dummies at EMS refused the offer. so much for saving lives.

    2. who works for nothing? I think these guys just have the security guard syndrome, they are pretending to be cops, the government takes enough of our tax money to pay for a proper full time courier service for medical items.

    3. I am full of admiration for these people . I see them going on the M4 in the rain and cold , and all for no wages , when they could make money as dispatch riders . they are amazing

    4. Hello I am a teacher from Bradford. I am creating an educational video for young people teaching them about the importance of our amazing emergency services and why they must be respected. Please could I use some of this footage with crediting of course?

    5. I started Bloodbiking during lockdown, passed my advanced test and have now been doing every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. You will not meet a more dedicated and passionate group of people, I'm very proud to be a small part of helping out, especially in these tougher times. Ride safe all, last night here in the UK was scary conditions 👍

    6. A very worthwhile cause for these bikers, they should get at least some type compensation, even if they got something back on petrol, very best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.

    7. In the US, there is inter-hospital transportation units that handles organs & blood transfers. Sometimes they are delivered via ambulances.

    8. I’ve been doing this ever since my region started up a group and now I can take my love of riding motorcycles and hopefully now make a difference doing it.
