Destiny Twitter’s favorite Ben amans of cofidis Mick Bennett the two-time Olympic medalist Commonwealth champion and former race director of the tour Britain women’s tour and Tour series and Mikey mam the domestic stalwart formerly Racing for Morell basso vetus Pro and Spectra wiggle we had a chat with him in January of last year it was episode 734 and that’s on the archive as well you can find that at quicklink show.com in the day’s headlines apparently ja and Lula are looking at decathlon’s Ben o Conor to replace Simon Yates he’s moving on at the end of this year having spent his entire professional career with Jak with Israel Premier Tech and chuda pro rumored to be looking at the 2018 wter winner whether OK Conor would leave de cathon h2r is another matter or whether they’d be willing to let him go anyway some results that were published after we recorded yesterday particularly focusing on those young British Riders racing on the continent with support from the Raina foundation and pedal potential second for Adam Mitchell of vonu and it was ninth for the birday boy Max Kush of Moran adris on the 7.1 km prologue of larut Ven that really kicks into life over the weekend with two Road stages 27th today for Bradley Perkins of mayen vnb 49th for Ben Chon of Team U shent maritim Jack bro of ABX on provance came home in the fourth group on the road at the first stage of the Tour de boile they’ve got a double day today the time trial is unusually the second dose of action Jack’s teammates Joe Brooks Yan woodliff and Louis Sutton were all racing at Volta Castello yesterday was the third stage of four it was 11th for Joe in the chase group behind a solo winner you in 22nd and Louie who won stage one he was in the group PTO today Owen Lightfoot of Vigo rias Bashas was with him he still holds the Sprints Jersey and in almati the second largest city in Kazakhstan it was under 23 time TR at the Asian Continental championships now you heard from him during the tour of Japan last month where he finished fourth on GC took a stage win and went home with the best young Rider Jersey and more weird flavored Kit Kats than you can possibly imagine winning a gold today it’s our friend Nik vorov here he is so today there was the Asian TT championship for under 23 uh it was a very long TT uh nearly 37k and uh just under 35° so very hot and very long Titi actually I never done that that long tit in my life and uh yeah I uh pasted it uh quite nice and uh there was two laps so first lap I just did it Tempo I mean in a very good Pace I still had the best time on the line on the first one and then all out last uh last 15K all out till the finish line and won just by 3 seconds so yeah I’m happy and two action on the road at home will start in chesher with day three at the tour of Britain the Warrington stage 106.8 km out and back from the town rolling from in front of the famous golden gates of the Town Hall heading Southeast towards mfield and coming back via Ally Edge and Appleton Thorn a pair of c 3 climbs to tackle either side of mfield the 900 M 4% pill and the 2.2 km 5% shrigley Road back toback stage winner L keki of Death Star Works in green with 17 seconds over her Breakaway companion yesterday as Anna Henderson of the Great Britain national team and 34 seconds over latia pansta of Liv ja who borrowed capek’s Reds points Jersey for a second day Lizzy Dinan of the national team Queen of the mountains with a 10-point lead in that classification only eight available today so that blue jersey secure until Manchester tomorrow at the very least elen Janson of vulka vessels starting the day in white as the best young Rider she’s sixth on GC at 43 seconds down on keki but she has a cushion of almost 4 minutes over Flora Perkins so a bunch finish was predicted and that’s exactly what we got but there was plenty to talk about on the way it kicked off early doors with Hess and vulka wles controlling and shutting down some early moves but eventually Joe tindley of pro knocked his 200° coffee harre Contracting who was the first roider we spoke to in our preview series sorry that team night Moyes makes me laugh uh go back to Monday’s show for that anyway she got away and she was joined shortly after by mdy leech of Lifeclass wahoo on new bikes freshly delivered from Ribble HQ in nearby Preston after the team’s van was broken into on Thursday night they got away up to four minutes up the road ahead of the climb at PEX Hill leech took the Four Points over the top three for tindley and it was two for Lucy Lee of Da as Hutchinson Brother UK who had committed to a solo Chase she was 3 minutes behind the pair the bunch was a minute behind her and Lizzie Donan grabbed that last available Point another domestic Rider Caitlyn dimbleby of Albert development was starting to bridge over to Lee the lead Duo came through mfield and crested the shrigley road climb with leech again first over the summit but then looking like she had trouble with her front Mech on The Descent dimbleby got over to Lee leech dropped out of the group up the road obviously her and tindley and found herself back with Lee and dimble Bee Tinley was on her own up front the chase Trio were one and a half behind her 30 seconds in front of the bunch 40K to go they were caught just outside of the intermediate Sprint in m tindley still had a gap there she took the four points and three bonus seconds with a minute its advantage over the pelaton as the GC Riders had a charge to that intermediate Sprint line poner grabbing the two bonus seconds ahead of one for her live Jaco teammate Ruby Roseman Ganon as they tried to shut down any further gains for St Works tind ley’s timeout front alone came to an end 12K from home after vulka wessels again had been drilling it at the pointy end and they sent Valerie deay up the road she got over to tindley but had a change slip just as the two could have worked together had hopefully stayed away for longer and it was curtains for the Breakaway the competi of Ward welld deserved for Joe tindley and everyone was back together for the run into Warrington there were no further digs and as sure as eggs are eggs despite DSM swarming to the front L keki dropped off Lorena wees in the prime position and the former European Champion powered clear of anyone else to her 11th win of the year and fourth in the last fortnite in the UK it’s 13 wins in the last 14 Women’s World Tour stages for SD Works bro time and clear favorites to extend that run on tomorrow stage from the national Cycling Center and the home of Rich cycling in Manchester to nearby Lee charlot K of DSM Ferman post now second today Georgia Baker taking third for Liv alula ja fourth with Rachel Barbieri fifth Flora Perkins and then it was Van kou keki ponosa F and Gonzalez Marine V kou of hes cycling in sixth that’s the best result for domestic team so far this race it’s as you were on GC though pton Noster moves from 34 seconds to 32 behind LTE keki Henderson stays second at 17 seconds f for Georgie is at 38 there’s four Riders at 43 weebies will wear red tomorrow moving ahead of pona into second behind keki in the points classification D stays in blue Janson stays in white I just want to interject here and say everyone at the quicklink show is sending love and thoughts to Zoe langum and Adam Thorp tonight with the recent unfortunate news to the Doan and the queen stage on day seven of 8 with a summit finish up saman’s mil a 10K long 10% climb to end a 155 km stage from alvil that tackles three cat one climbs ahead of that climax on the all category s Ro glitch in yellow after his stage win yesterday Evol in white at 19 Jorgenson at 58 G at 101 Julio jacone is wearing rl’s green points Jersey Mattis lear’s King of the mountains on 24 points it’s nine more than rogl but 45 available today it’s 10 over each of those three cap one climbs plus 15 at the Finish eight non-starters including Tao gagen heartt of little Trek and Jaco Duo Christopher Yul Yensen and Blake quick taking the field down to 122 and that became 121 very early on as Elan Van Wilder of sudow quickstep climbed off in the first 5k leaving rco EVO One Lieutenant light we had the break form after 20K with the race heading to the foot of the day’s first climb called the sees five Riders made the move first David formo Lorenzo fortun Nicholas pror Darren rafy and Mark Sol Fortunato crested first and the group soon doubled in number as Warren baril Ken Bowman Kevin jenet Dorian godon and Guam Maran got across up and over the climb and unfortunately some other Riders called it a day on the lower slopes the lead 10 now were out over 3 minutes and they crested coat arates the second climb and the midpoint of the stage Fortunato picking up another 10 points at the top and shortly afterwards Mark Donovan of Q 365 got across from a Chase group that was originally three strong including matis Le and Mattis passions the third climb of the day cordela Ras and its 8 and 9% slopes put pay to the efforts of Donovan and martan and as ryers started to drop out of that break it provided the impetus for attacks between those who remained barill went first and split the group and that kickstarted cair into life who got clear over everyone else halfway out the climb and he was gone the bunch were at 5 and a half minutes at this point as he crested and he’d already put 1 minute 30 into the rest of his Breakaway companions Fortunato came over the summit behind him to add eight points to his Hall and move him clear of matis Lear in the virtual King of the mountains leadership coming through the town of SN cair was still clear as the Bor driven Bunch started to suck up the remnant of the Breakaway and they farted Evo out the back of it as he struggled to stay in touch with the GC group so Le’s lead was under 2 minutes into the last 5K and he admitted defeat 2K from the top as vlasov once again dragged his leader rogl up the toughest gradients in the final kilometer Bago fired the gun in what remained of the GC group down to just 11 in number but Primos RIT was the strongest of the five that remained into the closing MERS and he held off mat Jorgenson to win in a leader jersey for the first time since last year’s VTA alos Chone taking third for little Trek behind yenson Oya laano fourth from M star and then Derek G Rodriguez aenos brago deplus vas of Landa and Romo completing the top 11 that was that entire GC group Evol drops to sixth on GC so it’s rogl from Jorgenson who’s at 102 and back in the white jersey G is at 113 vlasov 156 Rodriguez 158 215 rogich extends his points lead over Jone from 5 to 10 but he denies Fortunato the outright mountains lead with the stage win he’s on 30 points to fortunat on 28 so the aana man will wear polka dots on his behalf tomorrow it’s the eighth and final stage it departs ansy and heads over the climbs of cod Forda mman codu and Le and it heads onto the finishing climb it’s 9k long 8% Plateau de gierz near L Grand ban it’s 16.6 is a total with 3,400 M of climbing it wraps up just under 1200 km of racing over the last 8 Days arguably the best racing of the day was at dwor head hland with a fascinating climax in the men’s race seriously if there’s one thing you want to watch highlights of Discovery plus tonight make it this one it was absolutely fantastic after the dust had settled we had three up the road Gian verish of Alon kernick hartis D of tdt unibet and yonas abrahamson of unox Mobility they were just ahead of a 1 Man Group which included two of abrahamson’s teammates saurin waren cold and two-time winner Rasmus tiller abrahamson was on the race radio to his team asking to absolute bug all work in the trio the verice was yo-yoing in and out of the group as the climbs took the wind out his sales each lap absolutely brilliant to watch such a great race on a fantastic course in the end these three stayed away D was spat on the cobbled climb up to the finish at the Citadel in dest vermes channeling his frustration into wats he dispatched abrahamson to take the win D holding on for third then tiller and waren cod brought home the chase group Lucen de brown of little Trek won the women’s race in an all Dutch top four ahead of T dong of Lotto Destiny Carling
