Returning to Saalfelden Leogang – Salzburgerland for the second time after a successful debut 12 months ago, changing weather kept riders on their toes throughout the event on the first of three exhilarating days in Austria with UCI E-Enduro and Downhill World Cups still to come.

The WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series produced two contrasting but equally action-packed competitions in the UCI Enduro World Cup, as Richie Rude (YETI / FOX Factory Racing) won the men’s overall by 7.3 seconds while Isabeau Courdurier (Lapierre Zipp Collective) proved she’s the woman to beat with a dominant 38-second victory.

[Music] [Music] you have to push from the start to the finish and I’m getting closer and closer like so tight and it really pushes our Pace what did you do on this stage to gain so much time it’s basically like finished same point to get this close on such a race the end is like so tight all charge all gas mate don’t even think about it it was all on the line and it came down to 9 of a second we’re so close almost you know even so stressful like my nerves were rattled yeah I was just freaking out too tricky when you’re the one being hunted now it’s the other way around it was a real surprise for me because I did not the time and I thought I was quite like far away welcome back to round three of our UCI uro and E nuro World Cup Series we’re here in the one the only the spectacular Leo gang Austria after a cheeky few weeks breaks our Riders have had a chance to relax and recover before we get stuck into round three here in Leo gang Austria the stages look spectacular and the scenery is absolutely stunning let’s go and check out the course and see what our Riders have in store Riders will catch a gondola then Traverse across to sbach where stage one will be a fast and treacherous stage to kick off our racing stage 2 xline will find our longest stage of the day 3.6 km and over 800 vertical meters of descending Riders Lea to Leo gang for stage three a 1.6 km Technical and slippery trail that drops over 320 vertical met stage four brings our Riders to the top at the Leo gang bike park for hangman stage five is 1.1 km and 200 vertical meters of descent our sixth and final stage is bongo Bongo it descends down through the Leo gang bike park and mirrors our downhill race course as our Elite athletes rolled out of the start gate to begin a huge day of racing The Moody Austrian mountains awaited no rest for the wicked a huge liaison to start the day and to take them to stage one after overnight rain stage one was greasy Riders would have to look for grip wherever it could be [Music] found had handen started the day on the back foot she struggled to calm the nerves and keep the flow on the first stage of the day chased down by isabo kaduri as she takes fourth place to start beex Barona takes her best Stage result of the season so far with third place Ella Connelly despite not getting any bike time since the last round in bco Bala due to illness was off to a flying start and took second place with a smile isabo kadura seated just after had handen and had the close timings of Bosco in her mind as She chased handen down she took the first stage win of the [Music] day after stage one cadura sits with a comfortable 13-second lead ahead of Connelly Morgan Shar is hot on the heels for fourth place handen as they are just under a second apart it was tough and terrible for me I crashed two times and it was like so tough to hold on to the bars wow that was some questionable riding real sketchy so much breaking and like letting it go is so wild glad to get that one out the way cuz I was scared of dropping into that one pretty greasy hey but yeah we made it kicking off the elite men’s race day drama was here from the get-go fan favorite Jack moyá suffered a puncture at the very top of the first stage of the day resulting in a 73rd position Jesse meled would face a Deja Vu moment from the stage Burg start last year here in Leo gang as he suffered a crash but still pulled to 11th [Music] Place Alex rudaux finishes the stage in fourth just behind slavomir Lucas who took third Richie rude was not hanging around as he charged into second place just 2 seconds off the stage win despite struggling with the physicality of the stage Charlie Murray would take the stage win times are tight in the men’s race as the top nine contenders after stage one sit within 10 seconds of each other Murray has a two second lead ahead of rude I was not ready for this so greasy so slippery can you’re just kind of tiptoeing and hanging on for dear life there a small crash or at the end of the rout he everybody is pretty smoked right now pretty greasy up there but it’s actually better conditions than I expected that was one of the wor one stage two was the longest and most diverse stage of the day despite a crash on the second stage ill Conelly will take a fourth place on the stage just ahead of Adrian lanthia Nadu who took Fifth isabo cadua Third and Morgan sha got stuck right in and finish second on the stage but it would be handen L recovered from the nerves at the start of the day and took her first stage win despite being 6 seconds back from handen on stage two isabo remains in the lead by 13 seconds Oran sha has climbed to third place with Connelly just behind her in fourth better than stage one less slippery but the bridges and the routs like it’s so technical like I’m trying to find the floor and the base but that’s is after the physicality of stage one Charlie Murray would struggle on stage two and finish with a sixth place Frenchman Alex Rau felt right at home with the technicality of the stage and managed to grab the third Jack MOA would ride with a fire in his belly from the mechanical in stage one and takes a second place on the stage but Richie Roode did what Richie rude does best and takes home the stage two victory with the success of stage two Richie Roode now sits on the top spot with Charlie Murray just under two seconds behind Lucas remains in third with Alex rudaux in fourth crazy physic and really catchy I was pretty safe but made it down to one piece as the Riders made their way to the third stage of the day so would the rainclouds and already technical stage would be made even more unpredictable with the added moisture [Music] Morgan sha caught out in the changing of the weather would have to settle for a sixth place on the stage in fourth place we have kondal Ella Connelly beex Barona finishes the stage in third followed by hady handen who puts six seconds into Barona and takes second but the Unstoppable isabo curz by two crashes backs up her win on stage one with another top step on stage three the overall has little movement after stage three with isabo extending her commanding lead as she is 20 seconds ahead of the second place had handen sha remains in third place followed by Connelly in fourth melamed’s day went from bad to worst as he suffered another crash on stage three finishing 16th on the stage Charlie Murray seemed to be flagging behind he ended the stage in fifth place behind Italy’s Miro vendemia who took fourth the yeti Fox bash Brothers Duo of rude and lucasi takes up third and second place respectively but it was common sales Alex rudaux seeming to thrive in the wet and wild conditions and takes the stage three Victory the overall for the day has some moving and shaking with Richie rude keeping his top spot but lucasi would now follow just over 4 seconds back rudo overtakes Murray as they take the third and fourth spot Morgan three stages down you got caught in the storm heading into stage three yeah it rained a lot just when we were like going to to stage three um so yeah it made it like Ice like so slippery yeah bit of dmer for me I crushed two times in this one and then I was completely losing confidence so hopefully I can turn it back on for stage three or four sketch is three out of the way so I’m quite looking forward to the afternoon to be honest big three physical stages to start now much higher speed for the final three stages what do you need to focus on to bring this home just keep continue to push and uh stay focused on some crew section and yeah we will see at the end Riders would have two more stages to get into the best position possible before receding on the final stage with the win all to play for these would be crucial stages to make the time count stage four brought less technicality and higher speeds for our Elite athletes ell Connelly would take another fourth place followed by had handen in third Morgan sha takes second place with Kier taking yet another stage win stage five Harden would leave with a fourth place finish on the stage but it was an all French one two3 with Melanie pan throwing her name in the ring by taking third place followed by Sha and another win for cier heading into the final stage of the day our standings are looking like this isabo cadas sits in a familiar spot in first place followed by handen Sha and Connelly despite a huge Crash from slavomir lucasi he still rallies to finish Ninth Place on stage four Alex Rau determined to keep his name in the mix takes third and Roode and Murray Now set 48 of a second apart with muray ahead taking another stage [Music] win lucasi managing to recover after a crash on stage four takes third place on stage five behind his teammate rude but rudo gave it his all to set his place on the final stage on stage five he takes his second stage win of the day Richie Roode has a 7 second lead over Alex Rau as they take the one and two spots followed by Charlie Murray who is just over 10 seconds behind Roode lucasi is 3 seconds behind Murray fourth place the racing has been electric to start the day here in Leo gang Austria there’s plenty more to come we’re going to take a break and we’ll see you [Music] shortly hello fancy seeing you here well our Elite athletes are out on course right now headed to the final stage but earlier in the week we had a chance to catch up with some of our emerging and rising stars from the season so far my name is Hannah stala I’m 26 years old my name is Miro I’m 25 years Jack menes I’m 22 Chloe Taylor I’m 25 I would say my writing style is pretty stable maybe sometimes too safe I have to work on getting a bit loose light on the bike and to not push uh too much I’m still trying to figure out my own style but whatever it is go fast so I like the jumps it’s going fast and then tight twisty awkward I’ve got better at that over the years Jesse is a rider as a Canadian that you look up to a lot and he was kind of the first Canadian Enduro Rider to make it big he’s definitely an inspiration and I’m super fortunate to ride with him isab she’s so grounded such a strong and consistent Rider it’s insane Jared Graves inspired very very a lot his riding style uh was really good and I like it so much I guess like is’s consistency is like insane mentally to be that that strong is is cool main goal is to not put too much pressure on me I just want to go fast and have a good time I hope to keep uh this level now I’m fifth in the championship for sure I want to break into that top five and hopefully on to the podium at some point I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself to stay up there would be sick I don’t want to put a number to it cuz I already put enough pressure on myself as it is so to be in the top 10 in the overall would be I’d be stoked with just like beli in myself really cuz now I’ve got that result there’s no reason not to the earlier storm clouds have Subs Ed as the group a seated Elite athletes waited nervously with reating riders now know exactly where they are placed in the standings and with only 1.1 km of racing left to make an impact the final stage Bongo Bongo awaited this one is it’s quite short but it’s quite picky with lots of fruits and a lot going on I’m already farther back than I want to be so same approach go fast and hopefully I don’t make a 6 for six on crashing I’m just going to try and look up and find some flow it’s just going to be pedling trying to um not lose any time It’s Tricky you can go fast but on some section I expect it to be still wet this is another like techy bike park one so I think you can push quite quite hard and kind of be up there yeah you just got to be on Pace straight away so fingers crossed handen known for her skills on the longer and physical days lived up to the expectation and finished third on stage six after a nearly perfect day from cier winning four out of five stages so far she relented to fellow French woman Morgan sha who took the final stage win of the day in the same place she claimed the downhill World Championship win in 2012 so the final results we’ve all been waiting for after an impressive start to the day a crash on stage two would have Ella Connelly finished just shy of the podium in fourth place despite taking the last stage win sha could not best hen for second place she takes third hen stayed unfolded and kept her second place as she had since stage two but it would be isabo cadua that would live up to all expectations and follow up her win from Bosco Bala with an impressive 37 second Victory I’m just yeah really happy to be back on the podium uh it’s been a while since last year so yeah feels good Isa was on a whole another level to the rest of us which is super cool to see and yeah I’m just going to need to ride a bit faster I’m super happy I had like such a good day the drama set from stage one would continue down to the very last stage Charlie Murray suffers a huge crash within seconds of the final stage he continued on but two more massive crashes in the Finish Arena would leave him in 67th for the stage Alex rudaux fired up from receding in a stage of Victory battled down the stage with precision and takes third place jack MOA persevered despite the flat on stage one and takes home a respectable second place on stage six Jesse meled returns with a fire in his belly and takes his first stage win after crashing on the first five stages of the day Richie Roode drops in last for the final stage of the day with a comfortable 7c lead claiming fifth place on stage six this would be enough to claim his second victory of the 2024 UCI and Juro World Cup season here in Leo gang Austria after a hectic final stage the final results are in and they look like this Charlie Murray drops to eighth place after a drama field final stage melamed moves up to sixth and lucasi claims the third place position just behind Alex rudaux in second Richie Roode claims his second win of the Season by just over 7 Seconds oh I’m pretty pretty happy and G it’s first free spot for me on the EDR races it was a good battle it’s good to be back on the podium also it’s been a long time since last year so I’m really happy about it you never know like starting the season how you’re going to be and then yeah having two first two good first races and then comeing to this race wasn’t sure how I was feeling but yeah started strong and yeah it’s definitely good for the confidence for that our overall Championship Standings look like this isabo leads followed by Harriet hen and Ella Connelly as they keep their positions from round two Richie Roode takes the overall lead from Charlie Murray as Murray drops to Second and slavomir Lucas is comfortably in third wow what a day of racing here in Leo gang times were tight and the racing was as exciting as ever but stay tuned because we have all the action coming up for our UCI e and Euro World Cup Loop one of our UCI uro World Cup here in South Feldon Leo gang encompassed some favorites from the previous day of uro racing with a slippery and Technical power stage to start some familiar faces from the previous day of racing took to the start line again with Martin Mae raphaela RoR and Kevin Miguel All lining up for another huge day in the Austrian mountains everything is completely different you know from a super sleep Reacher and then bike back super fast so so let’s endure we love it after Loop one it would be Martin ma in the lead by an astounding 38 seconds as he wins sages two three four and five tons of fun of those machine it’s a lot heavier it’s more stable and you feel like you can attack much more it’s a good for change as well so I’m enjoying myself I need to go cuz we need to change battery and we are three rider for to make Maz is followed by Levi Batista in second and Jose boures in third people said me that I’m second at the at the for the moment so I’m happy with this keep calm and full gas it’s crazy to stay on the bike so yeah right now some mistake like everyone but I’m still fighting for the podum series overall leader Ryan Gilchrist was 25th after not breaking the top 15 on any stage so far in luk 1 challenging starts the day very very very very costly mistake I’m all good I just kind of like rode off a cliff and had to rock climb back onto the track but now that’s racing it happens Diego toodo would take the first Power stage win of the day drama ensued for Germany’s raphaela rcta a broken chain on the liaison to stage five would leave her late to start despite sitting in the lead before stage five she would be forced to abandon the race Florencia espan would take this to their advantage and now sits in the leading position after Loop one I’m same as my batter now in the last bar of energy Laura Charles sits in second followed by Alia masolini really physical technical super wet roots and rocks despite taking the first Power stage win Sophia V Roth ends Loop one in fourth Loop two offers a different flavor to Loop one with much shorter and sharper and higher speed Trails Riders descend the bike park and have some short technical stages and an additional power [Music] [Applause] [Music] stage after a grueling day in the saddle Ryan Gilchrist would finish the day in 30th position stage seven the final power stage of the day would be won by Diego jordano Kevin Miguel rode a clean second Loop and took third place for the day Levi Batista held on to his second place from Loop one and finished just over a minute back from the win in second Ora’s Martin ma would end the day with a near perfect result sheet he took stage wins on all but stage one and Stage seven and took the overall win in style who knows what happened in the future you I had like I said tons of fun today and I’m looking forward to race Eed [Music] again our Loop two third place Alia melini would have a battery issue right out of the technical assistance Zone despite winning the second power stage of the day she would finish the day with fourth place overall Sophia ven Roth climbed from a fourth place after Loop one and grabbed a Podium spot with third Laura Charles continued her Podium streak who took second or third on every single stage of the day showing that consistency is key Laura Charles continuing her consistent start to the season claiming a second place overall after an early battle with raphaela rcta Florencia espan would make it a double win for Ora Fox as she takes the hattrick of the season it’s a good relief to do already the half of the season with three wins it’s good back up in points for the overall that is always a main goal for me lorencia espan leads our Championship just ahead of Laura Charles in second and Sophia vidden Roth in third Jose boures claims the top spot and overall series leaders jersey from Ryan Gilchrist who now sits in second Hugo Pon flies under the radar in third what an amazing two days of racing here in South Fen Leo gang salsburg land for round three of our UCI uro and E uro World Cup our Elite athletes have put on an absolute show for for us and we’ve loved every single second as always stay tuned to our social media channels UCI Mountain Bike World Series and Euros Sports cycling for all the action and we’ll see you at round four comau in France for our UCI uro and E uro World Cup action we’ll see you track side [Music]

    1. That's soooooooo poor.. Only 3 racers get the coverage for each stage. Sounds like you don't care at all about the discipline… what do I hear in my ear? UCI doesn't give any sh't about enduro, just took it under its wing to kill it quickier in the easiest way 😢

    2. Dude, not even mentioning Matej Charvat who consistently broke into the top 10 on every stage is a fucking disgrace UCI! Not even a single fucking interview with him, same goes for Casper W, heck, get those guys who perform on the day into the coverage!

    3. They have destroyed the spectator aspect of this sport! Just paid for discovery+ to find out it`s not covered in Canada. Super pissed right now!

    4. So am I wrong, there's no full coverage or live coverage of each category now? Just this terrible highlights stuff? Am I missing it or is it just NOT there?

    5. I love this sport. I enjoy this better than the DH. I like this video format – overview of all the sections in one summary around 20-30 minutes long. I miss Rick, but the commentary was good too.

    6. It's getting better, we still need more riding and other riders coverage. I loved what you did with the small interviews of "up and comers".
I really like Josh as a commentator!! Keep him there, he did a great job on the DH, combination of Rick and Josh would be great!!!

    7. Easy way to get more riding coverage: use racer pov if they're already filming, give them media pay, and sequence the clips to show most of each track. Having 20 seconds of each stage is trivial. Having a solid 20 minutes of rider pov mixed with 3rd person would be epic. They could drop sd cards off and someone could be editing right after each stage.

    8. This ended up being not bad. About as good as the old EWS coverage was. Josh is great for this job. Enduro coverage is always rushed because there's just so much go over in a reasonable time. The video samples were not bad at all. Got a good feel for what happened in twenty minutes.
