hello everyone and welcome to another video here on The pying Dan extra Channel where we’ve been following the tour of Slovenia 2024 this is the final stage of the race inos granders having a somewhat successful Edition and we’ve also had other teams as well here we had bani who have been doing very well the white jersey with pazari barin Victorious as well very strong with the red jersey of Phil bous but it is alotti the borans rider who had that users Jersey but anyways the final stage 159.5mm this is into the novo Mesto which is of course the iconic finish of this race and this will be the finale to determine who is going to be the green jersey winner the leaders jersey of course they set off at the beginning of the day and it was a very interesting GC battle going on in the last two days so we were going to see if any of the teams were going to be doing anything to challenge Bor Hans Bor Hans are looking to get the second Italian to win in a row here in the tour of Slovenia but alotti looking very strong next to Phil bouse here and also the mountains Jersey but they got underway and it was the lubiana local team that were determined to get in the final Breakaway of this big race for them the tour of Slovenia the home grown team but we had many riders up there in the break including Jak aula who wanted to tr try and do something here after it looking like they weren’t going to be winning the race but with 60 km to go they had an advantage of about 2 minutes and 36 seconds in your screen days doing a lot of the front work with corch as well they were trying to defend that mountains Jersey but 2 minutes and 44 seconds the advantage grew to with 48.3 KM and this beautiful country of Slovenia let’s be honest and this was going to be quite a test on the cized climbs we had bani trying to defend the lead of that white jersey we had UAE lining up as well but soon after it was borans doing their best with inos Grand and soon we had Ben Healey the Irish Champion trying to attack trying to see if he could get further up in the GC he had lost a lot of time in the stages before but could the Irishman potentially take a scalp here and win the Tour of Slovenia something that EF education easy post have never done but Ben Healey doing great to just put the leader Under Pressure here we’re seeing beautiful horses here as well but the there were some gaps starting to form here in the pelaton many riders determined not to let this go but Ben hey was soon joined by another puncher in the form of the equadorian Jonathan AZ and the two were claing back time on the Breakaway 1 minute and 47 seconds with 44.9 KM to go they picked up a potic meta Rider and it was very close to that categorized climb 1 km from the finish of the mountains Jersey classification here 1 minute and 50 seconds with 44.5 km and it was just completely scattered all over the place in terms of that GC group this is what the organizers wanted to see and it looked like again alotti was a bit isolated with 43 kilm to go we had Alexandro deari attacking from the Breakaway he knew that it looked like the GC favorites were coming up so he did the move we had Ben Healey getting joined by one of his teammates as well trying to really assault this GC standing see if he could get up even further in the GC Ben Healey descending well but his teammate crashing and it turned into a solo effort by him behind we had alotti who was isolated no teammates there and he was trying to drag this GC group back the green jersey really exposed there but at least Ben Healey’s teammate did crash he could see Ben Healey so it was touch and go whether or not he could defend this jersey he had a few seconds in hand but yeah alotti versus Ben Healey coming into the last 20.3 kilomet there was a 35 second Gap to the Breakaway and the green jersey apparently but it didn’t look like that Ben Healey doing his best to pick up most of the Breakaway he still had about 30 seconds to to make it all the way up to the front but he was doing a sterling effort and with 12.1 km to go there was 37 seconds of a gap between Ben hey and the green jersey it seemed and it was absolute Panic stations as it was Ben hey dragging this Breakaway group as far into this race as he could he knew that he needed a huge scalp with just over 10 km to go they had a 25 second lead and Ben Healey was dispatching the rest of what was the Breakaway there was one BF group bani Rider trying to stay on his wheel but Ben Healey was doing his best here to get up this cap three climb and absolutely churning it out the Irishman he was really on an assault here today to try and win back or win the Tour of sine here on the final day dramatic scenes but Ben he looking behind behind him alotti was trying to do his best to defend what was his lead on the road but it was absolutely Savage conditions with 9.5 km to go but Ben Healey had a VF group bani Rider on his wheel we also saw the defending champion of Philip oana towards the back he was unfortunately not up here towards the front but naay quickly joined the two riders that included Ben Healey and it looked like in your grenadiers might be helping Ben hey to take potentially the stage Victory and also get further upop into the GC it was a very enthralling racing going on the three front Riders doing their best to keep away the leader but shortly after we saw bilb and alotti just get on the wheel of this Trio and it became a quintet with other Riders scrambling behind trying to get on board with this but there was a bit of looking around as well towards the Finish who was going to do the work it was a bit undecided Ben Healey very active as he had been through the day made the launch everyone else looking at each other and Ben Healey the Irish man who was very good last year in theen even took a jro stage win last year with 500 meters to go he had a sizable lead to the other Chasers and it was the BF group bani Rider who was the best Chaser but Ben Healey looking around the EF education easy Post Star saluted the crowd as he crossed the line winning the stage and absolutely incredible behind the minor positions were settled by the other Riders but what an attack there by Ben Healey a bit of stalling from the other favorites and he just managed to get away it wasn’t an incredible attack he just seemed to hover off the front and Ben Healey absolutely incredible to see that the Irish National Champion winning here in the tour of Slovenia I don’t think any Irish National Champion has ever done that in the past but Ben Healey incredible and here’s a confirmation of the results the winner of the final stage of the tour of Slovenia was Ben Healey of EF education easy post after a very animated stage for him Alexander kristo of all people finishing second place the Norwegian and then we had the Venezuelan Ola of CaRu Al finishing third place Luca mesg becomes the best placed Slovenian and a former winner of the stage mate morich finishing fifth place sapini again in top 10 in sixth place Valerio con in seventh place Tobias Hal johanneson in eighth place and Archie Ryan in ninth place with barelo in 10th place and we might as well hear a word from the winner of the stage and he looks a bit different than his picture did on the top 10 here is Ben Healey yeah for sure I mean after losing time losing out the gz yesterday I was uh I’ll here to take some some Revenge today and uh yeah I I know I know how I can win I know how I like to win and uh it was always a plan to to full G in that first climb and uh try and catch him by surprise and uh yeah in in the end I managed to to go solo and uh yeah then they caught me on the on the last climb of the day but uh yeah the the GC guys were were playing silly boogers and I managed to get a get a gap and hold it to the line so there we have it Ben Healey winning the stage what an incredible stage win that was really fighting for the green trying to get it but couldn’t quite get it here’s the confirmation of the overall of the 20 2024 edition of the tour of Slovenia alotti winning for the second time in a row for the Italians Bill b coming in second place 10 seconds down the Baran Victorious Rider Julio pazari in third place the youngster also winning the white jersey for BF group bani poo his teammate in fourth place so a real Italian Affair in the top four then Sapa in fifth place 43 seconds down and Paul double who loves this race finishing in sixth place for ptica Ben Healey making sure that he finished Seventh Place overall last year’s winner Philip oana in eighth place for Jake aula Steph crass in ninth place and Tobias Hal johanneson the best place Scandinavian in 10th place but anyways let’s hear a word from the overall winner of the Tor Slovenia jaavan alotti yeah it’s been a really HEC pH for from the start I think uh yeah I really have to say without my teammates today could have uh Gone different the race for me but uh yeah I’m really thankful for them for for their commitment for their help because uh to a moment with around 40 50k to go uh strong group was on the way but we were able to to control the race with Co and pek so yeah without them I couldn’t have done it and then in the end I just knew that I had to focus on B and uh yeah this good in the end so with that that’s basically it
