I set off from Glasgow by train to the North East of England where I caught the DFDS Seaways ferry to Ijmuiden, The Netherlands.
This is my itinerary, which worked out perfectly – it was my first ever solo bike packing trip.
I’d highly recommend it.
I stayed in the Stay Okay Hostels, which were wonderful.
The cycle paths were a dream to rude on. The country and its people were beautiful.
I’m already planning a trip to the northern parts of the country as I love it so much.
This trip focused on the South.
from Ijmuiden I cycled to Haarlem, from there to Kuekenhof, and from there to Noordwijkerhout where I stayed over night.
Next day I followed the sand dunes south and passed through Noordwijk, Katwijk and Scheveningen. I headed over to The Hague, where I stayed the night. Next day I headed to Delft and Rotterdam, cthen to Kinderdijk and back to Rotterdam where I stayed the night. Next day was Gouda and Utrecht where I stayed the night. And finally to Amsterdam and NDSM Amsterdam and back to Amsterdam for a stay overnight. I travelled home on the overnight sailing the following day.
Please, if you’ve any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’d be happy to help.

moms doing the school run with two or three children on their bikes I just love the Dutch family bikes known as cargo bikes it made made me smile seeing the children sitting inside of them quite [Music] content upon arriving at Del the first thing that caught my eye was the Tower of the old Kirk which leans about 2 m from the vertical it was pretty amazing to see [Music] [Music] the streets were quiet and so was the main Square as it was still quite early I took a look around and went for a coffee and a pastry and a little coffee shop overlooking the new Kirk in the main Square I was
