Sketchy Gaps On Hidden Trails At Bike Park Wales!

Bike Park Wales is one of the busiest bike parks in the UK, with tens of thousands of riders sampling it’s range of trails every year. While there are some popular favourites like the A470 Line, Popty Ping, and Rim Dinger, Blake heard tell of some lesser spotted trails featuring huge gaps, technical features, and fun transfers. Those three things combined are usually a recipe for a good time, so he didn’t need much convincing to head over to @BikeParkWalesOfficial and sample them for himself!

bike park Wales 46 Trails uplift assisted and an abundance of trails like I said 46 of them take a look at all of these all colorcoded but amongst this Maze of trails there are some hidden Gems or trails that have not been ridden as much as you think or you’ve never heard of them this one over here this one over here kind of lost let’s go find them uh first one we’re going to do is HDS which is the hard shot older and you got to get into it by using the a470 which is a brilliant Trail and everyone kind of sticks to those Trails there you got wibbly wobbly Roots maneuver Terry’s belly to name just a few that people stick to let’s go find the ones that are secret or hidden right now to get to the hard shoulder you got to go into a470 and then you’ll see on the right it’ll peel off but I’ll show you when I get there woohoo nice got freaking get nice yeah little history right about the a470 it’s not history it’s a bit of knowledge really because it’s a a main road that goes right through Wales and it’s called the a470 and this is pretty much a Motorway section or a highway section and this is the hard shoulder so you get a main road there’s a bit of a road on the side it’s called the hard shoulder you stop on it for if you have something wrong with your car anyway this is no ordinary hard shoulder man these are got some big jumps in it and this has just been revamped it’s been resurfaced cut because it’s been overgrown for years I’ve I’ve probably only ridden this Trail once since it opened and that was probably when it did open and since then it’s just been neglected but now it’s been reopened and hardly anyone rides it because they’re so fixated on the a470 to get to the bottom to get to the top to do it again you should do this if your jumping skills are up to hand because this is a black run so it’s not for the farted [Music] well as you can see a new lease of life been uh resurrected from the undergrowth of bike park Wales this this is the penultimate feature it’s a beautiful hip into this buttery burm that goes right into the last feature which ends up back onto the a470 so you’re off the hard shoulder back onto the motorway or the highway only 200 M long but it’s absolutely fun and it’s kind of for people that are comfortable with jumping a bigger jump than the a470 anyway there’s some more but this is tame compared to the ones we’re going to find ready back on W good J all right all right [Music] W such a good trial [Music] Proline the Martian and PR line again just to make sure that you get it in your head that this is a PR line it’s not for the very fainthearted this has been built by bip Park’s very own Ricky the Martian Martin who’s been perfecting his Trail skills building Trail skills for many many years and as you can see there’s not much footfall going on here it’s all grass look even the trail through there is grass pass I’m a bit nervous actually I nervous because I walked down a little bit and there’s some questionable Rock drops I think I’m going to use all 190 180 travel on this bike and going give it a run see what it’s all about oh my [Music] gosh okay big flat drop there we got this hor thing what is that what is that that’s just got like disaster kicking all over it like you come off this rock you tap you tap it’s like a lily pad but the lily pad’s not even a bike length I don’t want to do that I don’t feel comfortable doing that so I’m going to go around it and then try and keep my speed for this crazy Gap onto slabs right try again [Music] oh [Music] my holy sh dude I I don’t know how I didn’t I oh my gosh now the dren is kicking in my heart’s pumping like mad so I thought yeah where you are I go up high and when I come up high I got to go across these roots but my front wheel hit this one look there it slid and I was like I was committed to this line right here committed and I slid my front wheel went on there and slid like this all the way down the Rock and I thought I was gone I thought I was going to land in a tumble yeah I can see why this Trail doesn’t get rid it’s it’s actually quite very technical and when it’s a bit wet like it’s just been raining these roots are not grippy they’re not griffy Le should we go move on to another one because the next one’s actually was big jumps and hopefully the wind is not there it’s called Trail X you can see where everyone rides they like use their finger to go yeah we’ll go here we go here we go here but we’ve just done a470 onto the hard shoulder back onto a470 onto the Fire Road up to the Martian down on the Martian then onto this Blue Trail to finish and then obviously insufficient funds back to the back up to the top now this next one is another purple one right here and it’s called join the dots I think before we go join the dots we don’t want to go to this next Trail because this next Trail which is it’s here it’s called TX Trail X and it’s another purple one and it’s off ENT of the Dragon so the ENT of the Dragon starts just here so you can go all the way through and then you hit this one this one is massive Pro Trail X pro line it’s purple it’s beyond black and you just go Purple Haze man purple huge wardrop into that [Music] oh man here it comes the big oh my go I didn’t expect all that came up really quick TRX flat out full gas and it is the question is that trail for you definitely walk before you leap check before you leap do whatever make sure you have the confidence and don’t just throw yourself into that one because that one is flat out fast big gaps now we’re at the bottom we’re going to head back to the uplift and we’re going to join the dots and what I mean is we’re going to join all of these Trails together the ones that are hardly been used or never been heard of when you go ride join the dots [Music] Trail Roots maneuver 50 Shades of Black we go down here and then it peels off on the right going to go find it I didn’t even know this Trail existed so I’m going to go find it but Roots maneuver really good trail [Music] drop my what is that what is this I might have to do that again this thing’s what is this oh whoa whoa whoa look at the state of that there’s a big rock take off I was not expecting that go smack yes we didn’t explain it look at it what is it it’s big ass Rock perfectly mounted here for a take off but you’re coming off that flat drop up there bomb off this rock here but you have to go quite fast and I was thinking what is what’s this and then there’s a there’s a gap oh wow they changed the angle of the rock look at that some more rocks inside oh now that is Trail building to its finest isn’t it bike park Wales Hidden Gem join the dots man this is cool right I think I’m going to go all the way to the top I’m going to do a full run of this thing and I Gap this and I really want to nose press that drop over there so Leo work your magic on this maybe a wide on here like that [Music] oh oh oh my gosh and then 50 Shades of Black back on it that there woo I over jumped that big rock Thing by Miles hidden Trails of bike parks maybe Dy has has some maybe Revolution bike park has some in the UK and if I Venture further a field I’ll be asking you questions is there any secret trails that we should go and ride anyway hopefully you enjoy this video if you come to Bike Park Wales come and look at these Trails especially this one this
