[Applause] something surely has to give it’s one of the closest tours ever and the battle now resumes the final week starts here properly the stopwatch now to sort it out it’s yonas Ving in yellow on his way and not one millisecond of effort wasted see how fast that start was by yonnis vinard down the ramp sprinting up to speed railing the first qu cor nice and wide staying away from that slippery section and vineard knows that the chase is on he’s the last man to go he’s chasing Pacha but it’s Pacha chasing him and Chasing Yellow watch the way he’s railing these Corners this is just Formula 1 riding by the defending tour Champion every little Advantage is try to be k out here he’s been flying up the climes he’s bombing down the desense yonas Vore defending tour champion as we now go to the man who’s won the thing twice and is by no means out of it and you’ve got the plan to change your bike potentially lose some more seconds oh there’ll be some nervous nervous people look at that I’m not even going to finish the phrase 30 seconds between the two yonas vingo is putting a heck of a lot of time into Pacha they might not be panicking now but maybe this should start to this is not even halfway into the time traal this is it after less than 10 km of racing here comes the car there is Pacha and here’s the bike change we wondered whether this would happen our own experts question the wisdom Pacha already trailing vingo as he comes onto the climb changes onto his bike already in that right gear and he’s got 5.6 km now with a new machine under his wheels Shan Kelly will be hoping to go faster on it well 31 seconds is roughly what he needs to find just to get back on level terms we’ll also if there’s a change here for vingo we don’t think there will be but we’ll keep our eyes on this Robie MCU is still very much in favor of Vore but you’ve seen the bike change how do you see this going now hugely in favor of vinegar the good news if any for T Pacho is that over the last two or three colomet that time Gap has not changed it went out to 30 seconds and it’s stayed there now for the last 2 or 3 km so maybe things are just starting to Plateau as far as the performance of vinard goes or maybe just held a little back knowing he has that buffer just roll himself into the climb paint stripped off face head on it and he’s going to be the fastest Rider but there’s no doubt about that his problem is there’s a man coming much quicker behind him here is pogacha sha just watching him this man is flying yonas vagor with the time counting down coming to the third check is maybe ready to put the tour to fr to bed 10554 turn off the lights and leave here is Carlos Rodriguez there’s pgat catches his two-minute man but he’s going to be caught almost now by the yellow Jersey yonas VOR started the day 10 seconds ahead of tacha we wondered what little Gap there might be vor’s Ving glue has been ripped off and here is the who won last year putting this year’s tour to bed Bing any huge turnaround after the performance of his career after the performance of his career yonus VOR will win again the tour to France at the weekend he has produced one of the time trial performances for the ages [Music] [Music]

  1. Bike change is a fun topic. Whether it makes sense depends on the mass delta between the two bikes, at times not fully under control of the teams due to sponsor obligations. The other factor is how much power the rider can produce on each bike when climbing. If there is a big difference here teams should be able to fix it with a basebar and saddle setup that lets them get in their usual position, imho. Also at the speed these people ride, it can be better to stay in the TT position anyway unless it is very steep.
