Leaving Italy, I entered Slovenia to find a time of fun and festivities. All along the way I found beautiful countryside and lovely souls. The ride brought me riding along the central corridor of Slovenia to the Ancient Roman town of Ptuj.

I’m at just about 800 meters filling up from this spring behind me here I’m absolutely soaked I have been racing this damn cloud and we’re both going up towards the top of this Ridge and I think there’s going to be more rain on the other side but every time this cloud catches me I just get drenched this is the furthest I’ve been able to see at least 20 minutes [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] I happened upon a lovely spot in the recently Hubli the be on most of my time abroad is spent trying to remember how to say where I am hearing some sounds I decided to investigate and found myself in the middle of a street parade with no understanding or comprehension of what was going on I was loving it sure on a Robin Hood level moving hay bales all the way to say but you know it’s even more exciting whip men with the Whitman around I decided to take a step back a large step back to the snack / dance pavilion I enjoyed the dancing and thought it looked rather Celtic in nature [Music] [Music] [Music] feeling quite dizzy and overconfident after not seeing the Whitman for a few minutes I decided to wander off and check out the rest of the town spying a castle on that other Hill I decided to check it out here in Ljubljana outside of the castle I don’t think I’ve had a more pleasant capital city here in Europe then today there’s some festival going on to enter similar to Mardi Gras but it starts spring everyone’s dressed out people are just so happy it’s a music straight there’s this guy dressed up is like a black bear being pulled around by a rope it’s just it’s a wonderful time to be in Ljubljana striking out the next day it was clear the town hadn’t woken up from its festival hangover I spent the morning cruising around town and trying to find a way out with the party going on the day before it wasn’t a priority of mine to figure out how to leave town I was promised however that as long as I followed the river I would find my way up through the central part of Slovenia followed the river I did hearing of yet another festival nearby I hopped on my bike and headed to the Roman town of patooie where it was the oldest town in Slovenia and home to one of the oldest festivals [Music] enjoyed exploring the town when I made it back to the party after seen a few sights this needs some of my old friends I heard them before I saw them leaving the danger of the wittman I decided to seek out a more safe shelter I found in the shelter for that night and my couch-surf and immediately I’m entering I was at war this is nothing like The Hunger Games in Augsburg not my favorite realizing that I was out man and outgunned at every turn I saw safety and a museum and found an exhibit on the costumes used in the festival thankfully there was a school group at the same time so I was able to eavesdrop learned that my soul a new one was absolutely terrible and read the English translations on the side telling me that the core and here with the bells along his waist are meant to scare away his prisoner winter we have an ostrich which actually is a cattle representing fertility we have two bears which bring us back to the medieval traveling bear entertainment systems we have a man riding a cattle once again for fertility our travelling salesmen behind them is boric and jorik in green and white respectively representing spring followed by spring itself I made it upstairs into the castle itself where I was astonished by the walls and the fireplaces within it’s no wonder that this guy is resting look at his family tree leaving with an increased admiration of a royal family I followed the sounds of bells with a Pavlovian instinct and I made my way back to the festival and prepared to leave town [Music] I didn’t have a car to drive however I did have a road to ride hop on my bike and headed off towards Croatia thanks once again to Patrick our Patterson for all the hell ball on the way and to Joshua bus [Music]
