In this interesting challenge, the GCN crew attempt to see just how long they can last riding at the same pace as Tadej Pogacar would in the Tour de France. Using the new Zwift Ride trainer, everyone was able to have a crack at it – even some of the GTN and GMBN crew! But who do you think lasted the longest?

Tor of France and Tor of France F AVX riff Racers are fast but how fast are we talking today we’re going to find out how long us GCM presenters can hold Pro P more power my legs are really sore I’d rather throw up than be beaten by a traffic but I’m also going to be challenging some of our wider team to see how long they can hold it for too and what is to to front speed on the flat it can be up to 7 20 kmph but the race is won and lost in the mountains and there it’s all about power and weight the best male Riders produce around 6 and 1 12 watts of power for every kilo of body weight and the best women 5 and 1 half watts per kilo so that there is our Target the very best can do this for nearly an hour but what about a normal person to find out we’ll be testing people on zwift the official training partner of the tour to France and a great way of putting people through their Paces today for this challenge we’re going to be using zwift’s brand new indoor training bike the zwift ride which is in this very box we are super excited to be using it we can’t wait to unbox it I’ll tell you a little bit more about the bike later on in the video but for now I need to go and round up some willing volunteers to put themselves in the hurt locker but while I’m gone I need someone to build this bike up so I’ve asked gcn’s most mechanically skilled uh presenter to help me out first off let’s get open and here is the zift key that is the poshest Allen key I have ever seen [Music] oh once you got the on F it up oh look at that you’re welcome 5 minutes 30 seconds you got pre-built ready to go bike all you need to do is jump on it off you go I’m impressed well done didn’t actually think you manage it no I didn’t either but nailed it don’t forget that what’s that that basically does all of what you need to do that’s the only tool you used yeah for the saddle Heights the handlebars everything I’m just going to give van Paul a quick call because you could do the mechanic for the tour yeah mate I’m free for the tour you need a mechanic I got you anyway now that the bike’s built up let me tell you more about [Music] it so this is zwift’s very first take on an indoor bike you’ve got the zift smart frame up front and then you’ve got the Wahoo Ki Core zift 1 at the rear they’ve got loads of cool features on this bike but let me show you my favorite part bike these are the integrated handlebars they have dual control pads to give you full control of zwift you can navigate menus give Rons to your fellow zwifters and use your precious powerups so no more reaching for your phone or your laptop trying to find that power up button and you can also choose from a load of virtual gears whether you want a ratio climbing one or an allrounder now this bike is super easily adjustable with just one little tool to do everything and apparently this bike can accommodate Riders from 5T to 6′ 6 you are never going to lose this little zift key cuz look how neatly it fits away actually think that might be my my favorite part of the bike okay we’ve got hand up first and you have to hold 420 WS for how long ja you could do it not that long I have got tired legs exuses excuses 3 2 1 go come on more power my legs are really sore 22 seconds that was yeah but I got side legs you were like oh we’re going to be here for 2 hours next up we have James from GTM ready ready three two one let’s go keep on top of it good work all the way come on nearly at 2 minutes come on up up up up [Music] up good work two minutes 2 seconds now we’ve got gmbn’s very own Anna and Blake seeing if they can put out topend roie power you’re still way over power come on Anna you’ve got it come on all right come on up up up up up come on up up up up up come on oh still 33 seconds oh no good work 49 seconds oh cool good work what does that mean the gcn crew up next let’s see how long they can hang in for let’s go there we go do a of gear there if you want to some big Power here oh no 30 seconds [Applause] go okay then going take off oh 600 WS oh cruising nice good work oh 59 seconds all the way all the way come on you have plenty left in the tank 20 seconds done you’ve got this oh not bad 43 seconds all the way come on up up up more I think I’m done a minute and a half nice hold it hold it come on all the way you’ve got this oh you had loads left in the Tank come on come on boy come on up up up up up come on come on Chloe all the way come on Jacob that’ll do and finally Alex to restore a bit of gcn Pride I think I’ve got two minutes in me absolute best but James did 202 so can you go cannot be beaten by yeah that was embarrassing I’d rather throw up than be beaten by a trap all the way come on Alex come Alex the only chance as ju and presenters have gotten a win here not that it’s a competition only 48 seconds in Alex all the way come on come on five more seconds 10 more seconds come on it minut 16 okay last Rider of the day manon’s watched everybody suffer like an absolute dog it’s now your time to shine man on um 2 minutes 20 to beat easy easy yeah yeah you let me know when you’re ready come on come on you’re chasing Chloe’s time now come on man come on 112 Well turns out it was a lot harder than we first thought to hold to of France or to of France fam aigs with power and none of us even the gcn presenters that used to be Pros couldn’t get anywhere near that power for a significant amount of time but we have to say everybody did have quite good fun trying to type two fun but do let me know down in that comment section how long you think you could hold to France or to France fam avoc Swift power for because we would be super interested to know if you did want to get your hands on the zwift ride it comes in at half the price of other wellestablished smart bikes £ 1,119 .99 or € 1,299 199 and you can get yours over at zwift.com I’m going to go and Catch My Breath now CU I still feel very out of breath after my uh just over a minute effort but hopefully I’ll see you in the next one

  1. My target power for 6.5w/kg is 442w's. Did a top 10 strava effort up a 2min06 climb at 438w's this year as a 50yr old, but completely dead after . But looking at strava can only hold 6.5w/kg for 1min44. Yeah absolutely ridiculous numbers!

  2. I don't get how the Zwift bike can accommodate riders from 5' to 6' 6". The smaller rider will need a 165mm crank, but that taller rider will need a 175mm. Plus the top tube doesn't adjust so you will either be stretched out or cramped by the geometry. I wonder what is the ideal rider height for it.

  3. Wait, more than half the video is promotion for the Zwift bike, is that what GCN has come to? It's been a while since I watched any of their videos but this is crazy, humiliating in a way.

  4. I would keep up for much longer. Because from the start the Peloton drives very relaxed. Hiding between the other riders in the field and let myself be pulled from the drag along. so i do the first two hours, not just two minutes.

  5. Unfortunately I dont look very much like a cyclist (unless you check my calves), i would need to hold 650W even at my lean weight. Under a minute for sure.

  6. I can hold 6.5/kg for all of about 10s according to Zwift (slightly over for less, slightly under for longer, although it would be less now I've gained some weight!). I like the look of the Zwift bike – and the price – but already have a KICKR setup.
