there we go nice all day out ready let’s [Music] go good morning I’m not in Manchester and I am South although I know oh I’m on a hill it’s not very long it’s just not very nice oh I think I like it is it really steep I is I know like I like it take me to the Hills disappointed there’s only 1300 me of clock I know jul dropped a sandwich I just told you what we doing so I’ve come South South Southwest and we’re basically riding from brixon it’s so busy up to Barn stample basically it’s a CO to Coast route you find it um I’m up for the week actually so there’s lots more videos and yeah with juliia she’s showing me the beautiful SES of this beautiful main road she has promised that there’s some hills some quiet beautiful roads I mean toi was busy but brickson was absolutely beautiful I’ll be very honest and very brutal so far we 20K in the route was about 30 it’s been main roads getting through toy and take me to bming dartm oh you effer you’ve lost in more saage what the hell I’m going to think I’m doing this on purpose just to be funny I’m really not I nearly rolled over hell what’s going on Juliet has said that part of this route is a little bit grally but look at her tires she’s got 36s and look at my little Meek little 2 in the past on your 25 I like a rim break and I like a like I’m old school we said this before I’m old school I like Rim brakes I like 25 mil you’re just stubborn there’s no reason to stick with those this is the grubble you made know she’s better be busy in flat main roads or here’s my results my fastest yeah was in 2018 I think o what was that 2018 24 minutes oh it’s probably it’s going to take me longer than that then so we’ll see you here in half an hour where are we now this is Bobby Tracy Cafe so we’re in Bobby Tracy and Juliet is told me there is one of the top 100 climbs literally the left like out of there right I mean it starts there at the roundabout yeah and I can’t I can’t come all this way and not do a top 100 clim and you can get directions to it oh that is so cool there another cool thing well it’s not that cool yeah uh they’ve got one for lios like wild you know like um outdoor s po called Lidos right don’t know what a Lio is well anyway is this like the old floaters thing it’s actually a really pretty climb like a really steady gradient there is a bit of a headwind now but it is very pretty and I went the wrong way at the bottom this is the top and it is so windy and now we’ve got Tailwind going back down really pretty climb I wouldn’t say it’s uh I wouldn’t personally rate that as a top 100 climb I mean the view up here is beautiful but it’s just kind of I would give it I’d rate it I would e equally rate it a four no he said he said 5 out 10 I’d give it a four or a three it’s long but it’s not steep but the views are very pretty look who we [Music] moved Dave uh he’s just been with myour as well so didn’t see just saying so goddamn fast they’re gessing away they’re moaning about some I can hear him we’re going to head up the road to Morton Hamstead and then across the moall and then we will nip onto the T Trail just for the last bit how long have we got before we got to catch the train we got hours haven’t we 12 oh yeah we’ve got six and a half hours to do 100K I think we’ll probably be okay right I hope so slow I no not not not the not the speed the F massive you got another one yeah in see if I’ve got a tissue or something J just don’t want to see it everywhere oh my god I’ve got white B I don’t like tubless now look at Juliet’s new bite it is a stunning bitee yeah what do we think of white vate oh no why is it white a white Co-op my snacks of choice smoothie banana and sweeties Juliet what your snacks your favorite snack is I’ve been banned from eating any sug sugar I know I’m looking at your candy kittens with real you have one no oh a nice little climb oh yeah is a steep little thing is it it is okay on yeah I wouldn’t say it’s a b oh yeah now Juliet spotted a cak down at the side of the road is that the cooling yeah that is nice you know what the problem is what you ain’t got no money exactly that’s just to take it oh you can’t give them 20 quid for a slice of cake next time I’ll go on about D mon right so how so we’ve ridden in and out of D more right and um I’ll be honest it’s like what do you think of it and I was like I think I’m so spoiled with Yorkshire and The Dales and all those beautiful views I just feel like it’s a lot of bushes and a lot of Hedges and Juliet’s disagreeing it’s pretty but it’s just a lot of this no so we’re going to take Juliet up to cdale cforia the Yorkshire Dales I mean it’s your first I have done once before I say yeah but didn’t you ride in the dark I was in the dark yeah yeah so apart from the ride in the dark this is your first ride in the dark I know you just haven’t seen all either that or you’re just spoiled I’m just a spoiled little cycling brat up in the north if you were in Yorkshire and dartmore uh let us know your preferences a some good roots R it cuz the The Climb was nice but I’ve been nicer didn’t really feel like a a 20% it’s not Norther than 20% let me tell you although I KN there was a lot of Steeps over dartmore oh it’s coming whoop whooop put it back on right let’s go up first hour oh know TR off and it’s chucking down go go go quick or hotel yeah I think it’ll stop it wasn’t forecast rain this is so good really quiet tra and look at all like how green it is on is it called the T Trail it’s actually really nice it’s such a long stretch of just being Offroad but it’s paved so get on road bites but look at that yeah I like this say got a nice bit coming up oh yeah this is nice no look at this like look at this view look at the sea oh my god look all the why are there so many boats so many running conversation I wish that we could have filmed them all talking about flashes and just talking about all the conversations that don’t make it to YouTube oh there’s so many waxing waxing shaving and flashes and all other guy yeah other activities what else too many so we’ve got about 12K we’re going to try and rush and get the earliest train yeah cuz it’s like 2 and 1 half hours back we’re wet yeah the rain has not been kind this Trail is I would definitely recommend it and actually Juliet is on about Jo tell him maybe looking maybe looking at doing the Q on it she there’s lots of gates so we need some of you to come out and open the gates for us so we can get this Q leave in the comments if you want to come on give uh jul a little help in hand she is going to do it very early morning so there’s not going to be Walkers don’t worry it was worth all those L we’re here Coast to Coast Kat’s giving me grief because she didn’t like all the high Hedges on D it’s B ready to give me about the T Trail cuz she didn’t want to ride gravel cuz she’s on it wasn’t that it wasn’t that bad actually it was actually very Prett that was forgiven definitely forgiven that was a really nice Trail actually yeah I mean she still thinks that is better than hands down baby hands down this is really pretty though is this all right yeah this is very nice dark more let me give you my little rundown of it this is what I said to you before I did think it was a little bit sey however there’s not many places you could ride that far that mount and it be really quiet roads and lanes for that distance so like I do think it’s that unique in that way but maybe there’s more to D let me know in the comments like other areas of dma that I like like big open massive views you just haven’t seen it yet what’s the yeah I’m not I’ve not SE not I’ve not seen the tours show me the TS we want TS not Hedges bloody edges work the camera y y y my bike flew over I thought it was my bike it’s mine instant Cala I always think trying to get a coat on when it’s windy it’s just the most ick thing ever cuz is like flapping around I do think this jacket though I think this is the one best piece of s kit I’ve ever had yeah it’s at the shake dry Shake drve don’t make them no more sad lonely ice cream van it’s June I’m in my wind toate it’s gray thank you so much our train is 15 minuts is it 15 minuts delayed yes we’ve got 2 and half hours back and then we’ve got about is it half an hour 15K ride yeah 15K ride at the other end and then the next few days I’m not really sure potentially a little camp out in dartmore maybe uh J’s going to show me some of the tours um ports arms ORD blackf here way of carrying

    1. Thanks for sharing that fantastic video—I can't believe you cycled past our house! I'm also excited to take on the Tarka Trail up to the coast soon. Katie, you absolutely must try going off-road to explore the breathtaking beauty of Dartmoor. It's a one-of-a-kind landscape filled with ancient megaliths, charming ponies, majestic tors, and stunning vistas. I'm sure Juliet is the perfect companion for such an adventure, so maybe bring a gravel bike – next time you visit!

    2. There's nothing I've found so far, outside the Lakes / Dales / Pennines better for cycling…Juliet's eyes are going to be wiiiiiiide when you bring her up here

    3. If you're looking to explore northern parts of the country into the Yorkshire region, I can recommend parts of this five-day self-supported tour route that I did with one of my best friends in Sept. 2019: Carlisle to Keswick, to Alston, to Darlington, to York, and finally to Leeds. We chose Leeds for logistical reasons as we were shipping our bikes back home to the U.S. so we could catch a train to Harrogate for the UCI road world championships.

I particularly enjoyed the scenery in the lake district and Pennines. We had to cross over a 300-400 m fell into Alston, which was an adventure for many reasons, and the following day started with a similar climb but then was a long gradual descent into Darlington. I enjoyed the inital descent that day because it wasn’t too technical, so I could safely enjoy the scenery and take videos.

Because we started near the Lake District and were traveling to the World Championships, I called this The Lakes to Legends Bike Tour. 😀

    4. I keep hearing UK YouTube cyclists sad about the demise of Shakedry but the history of the chemicals used to make the jacket is pretty horrific. The reason it will no longer be made is it is part of the PFC ban which is eliminating "forever chemicals" invented in the 1930's that have contaminated the world population. Having a convenient jacket for cycling in wet weather is really not worth the health hazard involved in a dangerous chemical that will outlast the human population. I'm sorry to drag down a great video but I'm tired of the influencers constantly bringing up a jacket that is a serious health hazard to the planet.

    5. Katie and Juliet, I've heard good things about the coast to coast, or c2c, from Whitehaven to Sunderland/Newcastle. It apparently has fantastic views and demanding hills
