the daugh of Switzerland just got a little bit more serious a lumpy day today with everything back stacked in terms of action points at the end of the day and indeed some nervous times at the beginning Brian Kar resplendant in the black points Jersey carrying that on behalf of our leader Eve lampar from sudell quickstep but just look at the day an opening Loop before suddenly heading off playing with The Valleys before the Hills began to suggest themselves at the end of the day well all of the Sprints and all of the hills compressed into the last 30 km it meant essentially our F Finishing Line was going to be 35 km out and then all hell would break loose with a very technical climbing finish to round off a dramatic day Sawtooth profile at the end did not diminish the well the Ambitions particularly of Luca Jenny to get himself off and up the road he was in the break the day prior hoping for a mountains Jersey Roberto caros Gonzalez was also one of the frequent Breakaway Riders also was up the road the man from Panama well the chase was invoked the maximum Gap was around 5 and 1 half minutes it was being paired back slowly but surely would the Breakaway even make it to the first K point that was the big question well the driving was being done by several teams that had a big interest at the end of the day and even on the flat section speeds of 50 and 65 5 kmph were not unheard of well it would be a lot quicker than that on some of the crucial descents that characterized the end of the day and that point was rapidly approaching our Breakaway was Julie to be wound in ultimately with Jenny doing enough to take the king of the mountains Jersey yobs The Last Man Standing from the Breakaway as spits and spots of rain suggested themselves on the camera lenses well it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm particularly it seemed the BF education easy post Alberto bettio had done a dramatic reach a grab if you like for the line the day prior and of course it had a good time trial as well the teing of yobs from the break was finally extinguished with 18 kilm remaining and then all thoughts were about the roller coaster ride at the very end of the day non-categorized climbs were still out there and indeed it was almost like a red B to a bull and that rather skinny bull turned out to be paripatra he kicked on with 11 km to go he was wound in then Hershey decided that he would have a dig as well it was quite remarkable in fact when Hershey Tempo changed for UAE who displayed an awful lot with Even Adam Yates getting involved in the Drive Hershey looked like he might just make it home well perhaps he would have done had a sausage dog not got in the way and hampered his lined into some of the Corners Barry PKA undiminished he had another dig working for Paul VI Pera but when it came to the last couple of hundred meters there was only going to be one man in it absolutely determined TBO nice done it in Romy done it here as well he likes riding in Switzerland quite clearly super finish to the day Steve Williams well placed Alberto betol yet again and in fact bol’s bonus seconds carrying him into the leader Jersey on the day nice some emotions for him nice work if you can get it and he got it today super effort showing that he is very much a ramp specialist betti ol’s finish enough to carry him into the leader Jersey ahead of haer kelderman and Williams who sit at 6sec margin this is what lies ahead of us as we head into the mountains for the first of four Mountain stages stage four really starting to make us realize that the Alps very much are here to be played with we’ll be going through some mountains passes that quite frankly narrow and get very very sketchy towards the end a big climbing finale to stage four awaits it’s where the GC game begins to be played we can’t wait make sure you don’t miss it it’ll be special as always here in Switzerland [Music]
