mistake of the organizers (the guy in yellow even in show wrong direction)
they athletes did not make any mistake… Organisation did in opening the finish line!!
The official pointed them that way.

I was standing at the finish line of this race and watched this video with disbelief, glad to see other spectators have commented on this cover up of an organisational cock up by Superleague Triathlon, blaming the athletes for miscounting the laps!!! Would have been so much more in the true spirit of triathlon if you had just admitted the mistake (heat 1 athletes were sent on an extra lap) which was made good in the end. So much respect for these amazing athletes but disappointed by Superleague organisation, honesty is always the best policy
Splits at the end would have helped build a bit of excitement at the end with it being a time trial and all 🙄
It was the athletes fault as a triathlete myself you need to now what you are doing
The athletes counted well: 3.5 laps (thus Gustav's hand gesture and look, and confirmed by Luis talking to Kristian 'it was alreayd 3 laps")
But the official in the middle sent him in the wrong direction, and also sending the other in a 4th lap.
