in today’s documentary we’ll be combining our greatest hits to give you a complete guide to the best day trips from Paris we’ll go to Jivani mes Garden Normandy D-Day beaches the Magnificent laa Valley Strasburg London Bru and of course the Champagne region if you’re thinking about a day trip from Paris then Claude Monet’s home and Jer may be a good option for you and in today’s video we’ll give you all the details you need to choose we’ll tell you how to get there what to expect and we’ll show you the gardens in Lily Pond that inspired so many of his famous paintings and in the end we’ll take you to a place in Paris where you can see his masterpieces on display the way he wanted you to see them Al to get to jiver take the train from the S Lazar station the trains run throughout the day and you can buy those tickets on site in The Nomad section of the main station a roundtrip ticket will cost 3360 and the ride takes about an hour and a half to get there [Music] when you get to the Vernon jery station you’re still not at Monae’s home there’s a bit more to go the options are an hour-long walk along the sen renting a bicycle for the day or take the 15-minute ride in a trolley or shuttle bus for 10 round trip we took the shuttle bus the bus dropped us off in the jery town parking lot just across the street we walk through the town with easy to follow signs and there are there are some places to eat if you want to grabb a bite before or after your visit there’s a separate entrance for people with timestamp tickets but you can buy your tickets on site we wanted flexibility so we bought our tickets here we entered through a large beautiful gift shop there’s something here for everyone and many items are very reasonably priced for my French coffee but Pro tip buy your souvenirs later because you’re going to exit through the same [Music] shop when Monae moved to jery back in 1883 he transformed the abandoned domain into a comfortable home filled with lots of his works [Music] but the crown jewel is the floral Paradise he created in the gardens the paths winding through the colors and textures of the garden are just like Monae designed [Music] them Garden staff from the Monae Foundation have studied his paintings and works meticulously to maintain the grounds with the varieties of plants and the color schemes just like the artist [Music] [Applause] [Music] palette next we headed over to the water Pond where it feels like you’re walking inside one of his paintings the lily pads Bridges hidden boats and weeping willows bring a sense of [Music] Tranquility or at least it should each year over 500,000 people visit while the gardens are open between April 1st and November 1st on this mid July afternoon it feels like half of them are here today Pro tip arrive early before the river cruise tour groups come but even with the crowd we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we’re definitely calling this a romantic adventure and tomorrow Antoine is taking me to see the big murals he did of this place at the orangerie Museum in [Music] Paris it’s been a long day and we’re happy to relax on the 90-minute ride back to Paris today we’re headed over to the tuler Garden to visit the orangerie museum and complete our Monae [Music] trip oh wow so this room was actually designed by Claude Monae and together with the architect as a specific place to display his Waterlily paintings and this is you know like in the in the last years of his life he came here and made that happen because the lighting the structure everything about it would just would just accentuate the beauty of the water lily painting so oh you can see his eyes you see his eyes in here it’s like two eyes and a nose and a mouth like hidden in there do you see it and more there are eight murals of water lies in this Museum in addition to many other po impressionist paintings and like you can just feel the lightness like this didn’t happen by accident like here with the the hanging pieces like from the little Bridge right next to it it’s beautiful this place was actually built to store Citrus plants during the winter time like a big glass in place and then in the 1920s Napoleon said this should be given to Art so Monae came in with the architect to build this as a a way to display the PO impressionist art for the area and um and I’m really glad they did because it’s stunning one of the other things that Monae had in mind when he designed those rooms for the water lily paintings is that was a place for meditation which obviously you can’t do in these crowds but I can completely get if I was alone in there I could be transported somewhere else just [Music] he looks like fun with an attitude so beside the Monae you have ay matis Paul saone you know many others on display here but if you can’t make it to Jer and you want to see the water lies this is a great option and if you do go to Jer and you want to just round it out this is a great stop and of course Antoine loves the clowns because hey Antoine is a [Music] clown the gift shop at the orangerie is nearly as big as the one at Jer but you can still get great gifts at really good prices if you’re looking for an extraordinary place to take a day trip from Paris mon s Michelle in Normandy is a place to go this is a thousand-year-old fortress cut off from the mainland by the world’s biggest and fastest title swing and tonight we’re going to sleep right here on this Enchanted Island and then we’ll stop in the Charming Seaside artist village of on FL Al oniva I am so ready that’s where we’re going right there where right there over the hill and well across the bay are we going to walk or how are we getting there when you get here you can’t park you can’t drive on the island so we’re going to take a shuttle bus from the parking lot let go let’s do it and since we’re not just here for a day trip we actually sleeping on the island we had to bring our luggage on the shuttle I’m so excited all right let’s go you ready I am so ready come Ona I want to go walking out here I don’t know how Brave I am with bare feet I brought my Mucky shoes all the screaming kids out here with their toes in the mushy sand all right darling before we go into this uh joyful mud uh we have to go and check in the hotel and I think our hotel is right there and uh I’m also starving yeah let’s have lunch first and then you can put your toes in the sand exactly all right let’s [Music] go what a nice room look at that bay wow look at that bay oh that is a view that’ll do what of you [Music] let’s go explore magnific look at that oh wow so I’m starving and we’re going to go eat lunch and we’re going to do that in a pretty famous spot La merard restaurant they are famous for omelets actually she has a 100-year-old recipe for omelets oh wow mer I want some of yours well you can look at mine no don’t don’t even think about it I was expecting The Omelette to have lamb and it looks like lamb sauce on top like a lamb gravy but it was not expecting a side order with a piece of meat we are not starving today oh my God that is pure fluffiness I mean just look how fluffy this is it is like eating air I saw the size of that and I thought man we’re in trouble but it’s like eating delicate air so I got the oh look how fluffy this is m oh the two cheese omelette and they put some stuff on top of it I’m going to put some of it on my [Music] bite oh man I’ve never eaten a omelette that’s so delicate I mean they’re not cheap omelettes but the way they’re making them and the quality of it is like wow so now we’re going to go back down to the water and we’re going to go put our boots in the water instead of our toes I’m mayy an old lady but I feel like a kid sometimes oh I look like an old man I’m a kid inside I know that’s why we play together well you’re going to hate it within uh immediately I guarantee that it looks really slippery oh my God go for it you have tall boots what are you afraid of well the reason to do this other than the fact that it’s super cool that you can oh my God wait maybe this is a better idea than a reality oh God I’m going for it yeah I’m a little bit heavier than you oh oh god oh man look at this it’s actually not too bad what I was afraid of is that it was oh man there’s some spot where it goes in yeah well there’s pocket look it’s look it’s a little oops it’s a little heart-shaped puddle isn’t that sweet it’s for you and me a just there we’ve done some crazy things but I like it yeah it’s perfect I love it I mean am I in quick s right now look Colleen if you fall down I want you to know that I will take you home I’m going to laugh my ass off first okay it’s Le Frenchies mud wrestling Edition oh man well oh man I got one well come to me cuz this is hard here where I am I’m trying to get my foot up oh man I’m stuck in the mud now don’t stand still keep moving just keep moving just keep moving what do we do oh the dry part so this was walking in the bay at mosam [Laughter] Melle that was an adventure it’s you know how far we went we went there so what are we doing we’re going up on the ramp parts to see the sunset it’s romantic the tower the wind Vin the Gargoyles the bay the sunset the just everything I love you I love you too we do cool stuff together [Music] yeah oh good morning good morning so we’re headed to The Abbey because yesterday well it wasn’t too crowded cuz we were a bit off season but still there was a bunch of people and we decided to be the first one at 9:30 a.m. so we can have the Abby to ourselves yes we did all this all those steps and wow and you know what once you get to that you have steps going up to there exactly you’re halfway there and they’re not Little Steps they’re big steps I know they’re big and just when you thought there was no more stairs there are more stairs oh man we made it to the TP no oh no are you serious oh wow look yeah and to think that whole section yesterday was the mud where we were walking in our rubber boots oh yeah exactly so the reason reason why it actually rushes like that so fast is because it’s so flat from um way over there to here there’s barely any uh it’s less than a 10% grade I think yeah no it’s a very small grade so once the water uh Rises then it just rushes it in the wooden ceilings and that’s just the wood and the stone and like all the elements coming together yeah it’s remarkable check out that organ wow that’s a Harry Potter room come here look at my fireplaces you can imagine the Roaring fire in here you know I would not be at all surprised if the haul for the movie Harry Potter was actually inspired from here and there were two of them there’s another one right here I didn’t expect it to be that large it’s a massive campound oh look at that is that a mill the grand the grand R they’re a huge wheel so when I first saw this I thought it was a mill yeah but this is actually uh a wheel where they put prisoners and the prisoners would walk like hamsters and this wheel is designed you mean like the prisoners were inside the wheel yeah you can see the foot spots and everything and the uh this was used to bring food up the island to um to the Abby to feed the monks yeah would they would pull it with the uh with these slays here that uh look at that yeah yeah yeah they would put that here and bring it up and it would be attached to the Rope yep up from water level we going down oh yeah look at that yep they would bring him up there I was totally expecting an ABY and like we’re going from room to room to room to room and well you were expecting an ABY with a chapel and like that but see this was this was built as a major pilgrimage spot for the Benedicts to take up the island and then during the 100 Years War all of this was Tak over as a defensive spot so there’s you know you have the fortresses all fortified around it from the time of the 100 Acre Wood the 100 Acre Woods the 100e wars let’s go in the gardens nothing quite like a Seaside garden and you just sit on a little bench yeah watch the sea Little Island over there yeah that want to sit with you and check out the view I think it’s a great place to just come and uh unplug yeah yeah if you need to uh get away from it all yeah the seagulls are a big part of the story here they’re enormous and it feels like they own the place and we’re visiting their Island earlier we saw from up top that the water was coming right in here right so it has already in the last hour receded significantly and now on route to our next destination this is Bon on and aside from being voted one of the most beautiful towns in France it also happens to be a little place we visited in a previous video where I bought the infamous fabulous bright red scarf so that’s not the uh that’s not the original one the one you’re wearing oh no I have many red scarves but the one I love best I had a little accident and we were visiting my son in his new apartment and I just casually took off my bag my shoes and dropped it in the little Cove by the front door not thinking that our 19-year-old son had a lovely candle burning well I torched it so now I have a big pile of Red Ash and I came back here to see if I could find another copy of my bright red scarf and a little shop over here I don’t see the Red Scarf but they have lots of scarves and and it’s closed they may be closed for lunch let’s go have lunch and then we’ll come back and I’ll bet you they’ll be open they left their stuff here they’re just close for lunch it’s a special architecture that they have this is all Norman architecture yeah it’s actually they’ve redesigned the entire uh Village to bring it back to its original Splendor cuz it had gone down oh there’s another restaurant right there in any case it’s voted one of the top 100 Village in France as you and see it’s it’s actually very small but very quaint smoked ham potatoes and Crum fresh oh boy this is going to be messy it’s Bing that’s good that’s yummy you happy now you get you get your red scarf and you’ll be in paradise and I got the Fier I got a bite with some chicken mushroom potatoes cream sauce and bacon is that a celebration of flavor oh wow a crepe last night was decent this is really good chear that’s a great pit stop in Normandy my favorite one oh my God look at the little pieces of fresh Apple in that sorbet [Music] yeah oh man that is Apple and it’s a very it’s a profound I don’t want to say strong but it’s a very profound Apple flavor so that’s caramel but now what’s interesting is that immediately I like well it looks like vanilla I’m sure you didn’t make a mistake and it says well this is caramel this is what it looks like if you don’t put coloring in it this is straight from the [Music] farm is it as ridiculously delicious as I wanted it to be yeah I’m afraid you’re going to want to steal my ice cream now literally it’s worth coming to this Village to this restaurant to have this ice cream this everything the cream the milk like this this is fresh no why was hands are busy no no that’s not fair well the question is is the store open you promised and if you break your promise oh man no go go go go to it they’re not open right the lights aren’t on so they are closed and we called the number and they’re not here they’re not open today they’re not open tomorrow they’re going to be open on Saturday we won’t be here on Saturday but they’ll be open more in season but Antoine called and talked to them and she said if you can send me a picture then maybe she could ship us one so I think we may be able to come up with a picture of me and that red scarf so I’m disappointed but I’m still hopeful and last but not least we finish our trip with one of France’s most beautiful gems on Flor that will do that will do now check out the uh check out the steam shower we have a steam shower yeah oh yeah oh yeah private steam room with a bench yeah that’s a steam shower the whole deal there’s a good- looking guy in the mirror over there oh that’s me all the coffee and mini bar stuff yeah a big comfy bed check that out let’s go visit the town now yeah let’s go see some shops and Galleries and check out on floor so that church is extraordinary I hope it’s open because it’s um made out of wood most churches are made out of stone and Friends it is open come and check this out the smell you smell the old wood yeah it’s really cool I don’t know how old it is I know it’s very old but it is extraordinary there’s something very unique about it cuz there’s not a lot of church in made out of wood for the simple reason that well they burned down uh they were destroyed you know Stone last long longer than wood but look at that you can actually see at the top it’s it’s built by fishermen they built boats so that’s the roof and you look at the roof and you’re like man that’s that’s the Hall of a boat look at this alley doesn’t it make you want to I don’t like alleys but looks like a cool alley well I’m sure in the Medieval ages is not a good thing but since we’re not let’s go I think there’s a store over here that I really like that sells the Calvados I want all of the Calvados and and stuff in here there you go the calados the Sophie with this is where they had dun calados too they have good stuff in here so we’re buying some Calvados and we were in a dupon Distillery a couple of years ago and I don’t remember which one so we’re having a taste in onur because it says do you want to try and I was like yes so this is the this is the 12 years of age cavos oh yeah now what’s interesting is the price the 12 years uh is 69 uh 7070 and the uh orage which is no age specific is 6 to8 years is 65 so if you just get this one you’re well you’re spending 5 more and you get a 12 this is definitely smoother yeah that’s definitely a lot smoother [Music] and it has a good flavor too yeah it’s good huh yeah um she just told us that uh Dupont cavos is stopping to 12 years old they’re going to 10 years now so this is it this is the end of the series and I’m taking it because it’s a great value I mean look at that 70 bucks she says no limit and I I like business woman there may be some drinking involved and it may not be a good idea to go to the absent bar tonight I really like onl it’s fantastic little town and of course we couldn’t leave Normandy without having their most typical dish MRE and that little bucket goes here you start with one this is French finger food so I have to get one that’s oh here’s an empty one yeah there’s always an empty one so you take an empty one and you pinch them out just like that and you use the you use the shell as the instrument you take your french fryer and you dip it in the fresh herb mayonnaise that’s good I love that muscles is a real poor men’s meal cuz you have more at the end when you finish with eating your plate than you had when you’re started is the m is is a coastal dish I know it’s big in Holland Belgium all the northern part of France and it goes all the way down uh Normandy and Britney and probably all over the coast but as I as you starting to go in South and viers are going to see that less and less when you’re a Savage this is how your shells look like when you Colleen this is what it looks like you set them in like that in order so we’re going to Normandy and we’re going to see the dday beaches and of course the American Cemetery Omaha Beach St Mary GLE where the paratroopers went and we’re going to eat some amazing food because hey Normandy has its own special kind of Cuisine and we’re going to check out some super cool little towns because there’s some amazing things to see and I just can’t wait to see what all there is to see there yeah me too I you ready to go I’m ready for an adventure let’s go so obviously we’re driving to Normandy but there are multiple ways to get there you could rent a car from Paris and drive to Normandy it’s about 3 hours or you can hire a private driver to drive you there show you around and bring you back you could also do a one-day trip when you leave Paris at 7:00 in the morning they take you to Normandy and a motor coach and drive you back at night that’s the marathon style or you can take the train from gar Sal Lazar in Paris and go all the way to Bayer which is a delightful medieval town and then hire a guided tour from there but since we live in friends we’re taking our car and we’re going let’s go [Music] so one of our first stop in Normandy D-Day beaches is s Mig and s m is famous because about 13,000 paratroopers were dropped off right here most of them in the wrong spot uh supposedly in complete darkness except that there was a house fire in the area which lit up the sky so the German could see the paratroopers uh and a lot of them got shot as they were coming down you many of them didn’t uh di before they even set a foot in France cuz they got shot in the sky that’s you know if there’s definition of courage that’s it so this is an essential pit stop when you’re coming to um Normandy D-Day to come here and pay your respect to those 13,000 paratroopers uh and the sacrifice that uh they made to um liberate France now on a lighter note um Normandy is known for many Calvados cider but also caramel and there is a small town right around uh from here called easy we’re going to go and see how they make caramel and I expect that we’re going to taste a few ones so let’s go now we’re going to go and see the the factory where they make caramels of easyy right there let’s go Normandy is known for dairy and iy is known specifically for butter um I learned about that in just in the grocery store um but it’s a very special recipe it’s a it’s a national distinction for the butter of isney if you have the Good Fortune to come visit Normandy and you’re not on one of those buses that like brings you in in the morning and takes you back at night and it’s a marathon kind of a day it’s definitely worth stopping in isne to have a look at this place the isne caramel is uh also famous caramel from the whole area is famous but the isne caramel is um especially delicious and it’s worth a visit here because they have a a a shop where you can buy the ice cream other candies and stuff but you can go inside and see how it’s made and and experience the whole the reason why it’s just a cut above because this is exceptionally good caramel and if you’re looking to bring some things home you can bring some caramels back to your friends if it makes it home cuz you may just want to eat it yourself I’ve done that before so let’s go to pook [Music] [Applause] [Music] holy crap it’s incredible as you can see all the holes I mean the entire uh Cliff here that was a plateau and what you’re seeing here with all the holes and all those things these were the bombs dropped by the Americans to try to dislodge the uh German positions and knock out their guns and they were able to do some uh some serious damage but uh they weren’t able to take them all out so all of the stuff that you see here and it looks like swiss cheese that used to be a flat land at a plateau and it’s pretty incredible to see it in that shape very telling on how violent uh whatever Happened Here happened pretty [Music] [Applause] incredible from here you have a pretty solid picture of what these Cliffs look like and what the Rangers you know the the American Army Rangers climbed up those Cliffs and they were all young boys and men but still the age of my kid and they’ had rope ladders that they just threw up and climbed one over the other just to get to the top you know to come through the water to climb that 900t Cliff to come up here and have German soldiers watching and waiting and ready to shoot at them it’s just dumbfounding just it’s insane that we were able to take that position just crazy [Music] I don’t know about you but it’s that’s stirring up a lot of emotions for me absolutely yeah it’s hard to imagine uh what these boys went through just for my freedom yeah for mine for all of us yours first but yeah so your mom could grow up yeah so I didn’t have to learn German in school that’s pretty much it [Music] I have a little surprise for you I told you we were going to go camping okay I got us a a hotel but it’s a surprise okay good cuz I’m not much of a camper I was going to pretend to be a happy camper yeah so you ready to go how you want to go let’s go [Music] I want to see what’s in this little pouch so those are butternut squash seeds how cool is that [Music] that’s a great dinner it’s just deliciousness very good these things are not common in France they actually have a bathtub and not just a bathtub those are jacuzzi Jets I know what I’m doing tonight good morning good [Music] [Music] morning that’s a French [Music] record this morning we’re on our way to the American cemetery and um might be another emotional day yeah but we’ll be there soon right 5 minutes away [Music] one of the things that’s so completely extraordinary here is you know it’s like we know what happened this was absolutely horrific and yet here this is a tranquil space like life goes on young people old people I’m I’m watching old women who probably lost very dear people to them I’m probably what’s their last trip here just breaking down in tears all over the place I’m present to the struggle in the Ukraine and that one day there’ll be a peaceful and Serene place like this to honor what happened there inside of what was so horrific and and what’s so horrific here today fighting for peace you know and Antoine says fighting so that he didn’t have to learn German in school because because of course they were in France but I feel so much of my freedom connected to this place right here the absolute waste of human lives that it took to do that that we really didn’t need to lose if we could just communicate and talk and respect each other it’s amazing really uh humbling these are going on a lot of headstones today I brought four rolls of pennies and I have them helping me which is even it’s a team thank you I’m specialist for I’m with the Rhode Island Army National Guard [Music] [Applause] the thing that gets me every time here as you can see here all the the tombstone and it looks like they’re plunging in uh the ocean as far as the IE can see and it’s a it’s a stark reminder of what happened here like you can see this line of uh Tombstone that is just going and curving into Omaha Beach it’s pretty incredible s his [Music] [Music] so where are we going now well let’s go to Bay which is a small medieval town which is delightful okay and we’re going to go have lunch over there we’ll have something light after the significance of the morning exactly you ready to go I’m ready how do Eva let’s go let’s go [Music] we’re going to go have lunch at L Co which is right over [Music] here so I’ve heard that here in by you that there’s an amazing tapestry that tells the history of this area the Normandy area I’ve heard great things about this one so let’s check it [Music] out if you ever come to Bayou you have to see this because it is a 70 M long story of William the conqueror’s tour from being the Duke of Norman until he conquered the Anglo-Saxons to become a king of England and so each little segment with very fine detail I mean you can just see the the Stitchery and everything and it’s a fascinating way to tell the story it’s beautiful it’s interesting it’s funny it’s definitely worth [Music] seeing this town of bay is an absolute gem like the little Cobble Stone streets the little cafes and restaurants everywhere the Antiquity is absolutely stunning this place was liberated June 7th you know after D-Day the next day the next day the whole town was preserved so it was not having to be rebuilt it was you know this is what it looked like it wasn’t destroyed in the second world war check out the beautiful stained glass right there on this Cathedral I mean this is seriously gorgeous like the detail and everything let all right let’s go see if we can get [Music] inside look how Cen this is [Music] but course right by uh Omaha Beach a lot of Americans actually come and golf [Music] here chicken [Music] [Music] Crossing this is way better than digging a ditch and pitching a tent a bedroom right right there that’s awesome bedom another [Music] [Music] bedroom so it was 23 years ago that Antoine and I came here right to this house we perched in that little window right there all skinny and young and romantic and we spent some time here when we got married back in 1999 yeah and this is the actually the house in the opening scene in the movie The Longest Day so if you want to see what this house looks like you can um watch this movie and you’ll see this little house and it’s cool to be back it’s very cool to be back and the other thing that’s cool is we’re right here on the Normandy Coast the ocean is right here and uh we just you know we went wandering picking muscles you know for mool free and uh like all of that happens right here let’s go and check out the beach really quick and just take a quick walk let’s go to the beach we just saw a couple of deer come through here so we’re going to try and be really quiet yeah let’s go grab a bike to eat oh yeah [Music] [Music] and here is a an incredible thing here on Sunset on Omaha Beach so this is Omaha Beach here right this is where at least a lot of American boys uh arrived and then look at that vantage point and those uh Young American soldiers uh are about 100 ft down wide open um it doesn’t look like a fair fight to me right from here and now you have little sheeps right there that are just grazing it’s sunset and that’s a wrap for today we’ll start again tomorrow morning good night [Music] [Music] and this is uh the stunning Memorial right here on Omaha Beach that is right in front of the places where they all landed which now looks very calm and you can see um all the way over there The Cliffs where p duok is and uh this Memorial right there which is [Music] beautiful so now we’re headed to uh the battery the long which are four big cannons that are left over from uh obviously World War III and they’re enormous uh cannons that were designed to uh basically pound the coast and the boats over there and they told us that uh we need to go and see it so that’s what we’re doing here we go here we [Music] go so now let’s go check out AR Mar I want to see that yep let’s go coola [Music] you see all those things over there so that’s one of the genius of of D-Day beaches one of the things that the Germans were counting on is that uh they needed a port in order to unload equipment CU you can unload thousands of men but unless you have equipment then uh you’re not going to win they recreated a port and they put all those barges over there where the big ship would arrive all the way to those barges would unload and then they had ramps that were going from those barges all the way to the beach to unload trucks and tanks and everything and this is basically what overwhelmed the uh the Germans because not only there were thousands of men that arrived but also within uh within a few days uh thousands of vehicles uh they were installed yeah they were installed and you see you have one of those barges right there you see that how big it is and I think yeah this one we have this one but we also have that one and I want to come on let’s go walk over there yeah let’s [Music] go so what do you say that uh on our way out we uh go to k and have lunch over there sounds like a plan sounds like a great idea let’s go [Music] and we’re going to go have lunch right here oh that’s awesome this is my childhood right there they brought us a little uh glass of cider local cider was very nice touch you if you don’t want to drink alcohol you can have a little Sho like that that’s really cool cheers [Music] there are a lot of memorials here in the Normandy area for World War II but if you only have time to see one this is it we’re here in KH which was completely leveled uh in the war and this Memorial is pretty profound pretty full and it’s not only a memorial to the war but it is a memorial to peace and World Peace like from the Cold War even 911 uh but this is dedicated to not having war again so let’s go and [Music] side so that wraps up this side of Normandy and I’m so glad we did that yeah but we’re going to go see the north side of Normandy which has amazing little Seaside Villages like ETA which is that Google image of the arch that you wonder where the heck that is uh on floor with beautiful seaside village doville beaches we’re going to ride in a side car we’re going to try some of the local stuff up there like calados and hopefully we’ll get into to see The Distillery where they make it and I just can’t wait to see it me too so until next time when it comes to Normandy people already know about the D-Day beaches but we’ve heard there are more towns worth discovering and we’re going to go do that so today we’re going to meet up with Vincent and our son Charlie in on floor which is a Charming seaside village with an antique wooden church and all kinds of cool stuff and we’ll take a sidecar through the countryside to go to a Distillery and taste some Calvados and cider and we’ll check out the Glamorous beaches of doville and we’ll end at the famous etrto Cliffs to visit one of the top most beautiful gardens in all of Europe so are you ready to go I am on let’s go so now we’re on a pit stop in a little village called on floor this is a small Seaside town at the Estuary of the sen just where the ocean meets the river the art galleries with fancy art but also Studios with local artists painting sculpting it’s just fabulous this is one colorful picturesque place that you don’t want to miss is so add a pit stop here on your Normandy trip a lot of people go to Normandy and they go to the D-Day beaches but you absolutely want to do a pit stop here in olur it’s an amazing little Port you’re ready to go and visit the town let’s go seea the first time I ever heard about on floor people were talking about the salt that comes from here and now I understand why because these are amazing I have four pepper corns in the salt I have fried onions Bordeaux wine Curry cumin garlic I’ve have so many things here mixed in the salt that are just phenomenal flavors and I can’t wait to try some so when you’re in on Flo you could go and eat at one of the little restaurants along the seaside but we chose to go somewhere extraordinary so where are we going we’re going to a restaurant Le it’s actually right there right behind us let’s go you ready I’m ready let’s go [Music] this is the salmon this is absolutely delicious the presentation is amazing it just shows that you have a chef that actually loves the food and the way it presents it and it’s really beautiful oh that is really good the chicken is in a a black garlic sauce with lemongrass it’s it’s it’s just perfect ch Mose is the my grandmother recipe uh it’s just white eggs and chocolate no sugar you have a PR homemade and you have a a Sab made with the Tonka FV M you can actually taste this it’s not overly sweet but it’s so full of flavor this is delicious [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] one I thing that is really cool here is to have an oyster bar on an old boat in the POR so you can actually go down in the boat and then just enjoy some oysters and some drinks looks like a great idea we may have to come back I want to come back it’s just Charming we’ll have to come back and try it [Music] [Music] n [Music] so we did a pit stop from ourside car in a small village called B on one of the top 152 most beautiful villages in France it’s absolutely stunning coming here was actually really magical there’s only 250 people that live in this Village it’s a tiny little village it’s very quaint it looks absolutely typical Normandy style all the houses and everything it’s really a beautiful little village I’m really delightful we came here honestly I didn’t know how much fun it was going to be but it was really a lot of fun it’s just really amazing it’s a great way to uh be in the countryside and discover I just really loved it after this we’re going to go and visit a calados Distillery named Dupont our last name so we’re going to see if we have any lineage in there maybe we can get a free bottle all right let’s go and visit this Village let’s go [Music] so we’re here at the DuPont Calvados Distillery and it is magnificent they distill the Calvados in the same way that you would a brandy and what comes out of that is extraordinary because the cider they have one that’s like a fine champagne one that’s like a spark apple juice but very refined all of the different ages everything it’s extraordinary and one of the things that I found the most interesting is that you can use the Calvados in your cocktails so imagine having a moito but instead of using rum you’re using a distilled Apple product that really wakes it up I cannot wait to try that there’s one that tastes like Jin one you can use instead of a whiskey or a bourbon it’s just extraordinary and I didn’t know Calvados and I’m so glad that I learned about Cabos because this stuff is really really good they specifically do quality products here they said they had a choice to go like you know on the The run-of-the-mill Cider quality versus quantity quality versus quantity so if you see a dupon product in the store um this is a quality calados until now we were not into cider or calados either of us I’m a New Lover of calados this is an amazing pit stop the DuPont calados Distillery right here all right let’s go on to our next adventure on Oni let’s [Music] go so we’ve just arrived at doville and this place is the playground for the Rich and Famous this is glamorous it’s Chic it’s elegant and tons of shopping casinos horse racing Polo matches red carpet parties it is the home to the American Film Festival right here in doville which is second only to the con Festival so all along the boardwalk you have little Cabanas with the names of American Stars just from one end to the other going way back to to the 1920s all the way up to current Stars it’s pretty cool uh and doville is considered the 21st alisma of Paris doville is the equivalent of the Hamptons in the United States so people in New York go for the weekend in the Hamptons well rich people in Paris come to doville for the weekend and a lot of people own property here and they just come and chill so I just can’t wait to go and discover this uh this town have lunch and have a good time this is the place to see and be seen go shopping and live An Elegant life you want to go put your toes in the sand I do all right let’s go [Music] I got the uh the sandwich che check this out it’s a black bun which is actually really interesting but it’s got salmon in there what’s amazing is this like amazing sandwich it’s just €13 it’s really not expensive I’m going to give it back this is delicious this is an avocado salad with smoked salmon and I don’t know what else but it seems very nice fresh crispy yummy good choice and that is a pistachio crolet and I love crolet it’s like eating a cloud of pistachio with caramelized sugar on top and toasted almonds and it’s it’s [Music] [Applause] [Music] heaven with doville being the home of the famous film festival it’s not surprising that movies are made right here including at the Villa straussberger where famous movies like Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downing Jr and scenes from Emily pulan and lots and lots of other European films and this place was hopping with parties in the Roaring 20s and there are rooms for parties for the guest to stay state-of-the-art stuff for the time and the Roaring 20s like think about the parties from the Roaring 20s so I can’t wait to go inside and see what this place has to offer let’s go see doville is known for horse racing and straussberger was a horse owner Avid racer and he had portraits done of his horses every time they won so you’ll see all over the house pictures of horses [Music] that’s so funny there’s not sand it’s rocks [Music] this Garden is so peaceful you know there’s little vignettes little tables and tears and then a place to swing little Buddhas bamboo spots arches and the flowers you can’t imagine that you’re so close to the Sea when you’re inside there it’s just it’s like you’re in another world if you come here to see the cliff you absolutely have to come to uh see this Garden it’s it’s stunning add a couple hours to the trip just make sure you do check out these heads this is the Buddha section this one is going to be the playful Buddha but you can see him and the ones down below and there’s just tons of bushes with these little sculptures inside how fun is that so when you’re when you’re down closer to like Omaha Beach you know you have the all the war and everything and right here we’re so peace it’s just so opposite of what we see down there I like this place so when you come to rraa plan on time for lunch time for The Gardens and time to hang out on the beach for sure do you think it’s okay for a a young man like a teen or something someone to come here do you think it’s cooling off or a certain State of Mind you have to be in but it’s uh it’s very nice for just calmly walking around and enjoying the nature yeah thanks for being a great cameraman today you’re welcome [Music] oh yes good visiting bordo was a city that was on my bucket list so in this video we’re going to visit bordo for 48 hours and we’re going to see all the sides to be seen we’re going to go to the city du and try some amazing wine we’re going to try some the local dishes and we’re going to have a wine tasting in a world renown Castle in one of the most beautiful Village and all our friends all right on we took an early morning train from gas and in just over 2 hours we arrive in Bordeaux it’s so quick to get there this destination can really be a day trip now to get to Bordeaux we use train line to book our tickets it’s the easiest place we found for booking trains all over Europe and I’ve put a link in the description below one of the clear advantages of taking a train like right here in Bordeaux is that you are close to everything and you have public transportation that will take you anywhere so it’s super convenient now once you get to Bordeaux the public transportation is easy and efficient we bought our tickets for from the tram from the machine right outside and after a quick 15-minute ride through town we got to our ranal apartment so this is our apartment in Bordeaux we decided to go with the rental apartment instead of a hotel this time it’s not really busy season but this year is the world rugby cup so there’s a lot more Travelers here than usual this one has two bedrooms I’ve got one nice space like that and a gorgeous view of the City I mean come on look at that so here we have a foldout sofa so we got two bedrooms and a sofa so if you’ve got a group this is a good spot and here’s the view you can see straight back there the city of wine the city duvon museum is just there and of course you have a place to eat you got a little fridge little two burner stove in the kitchen but that’s not the best part let’s go upstairs there’s a separate private space you have to climb but trust me it’s worth it and come all the way up before you look around Antoine but check that out check that out that is act it’s like a giant wine vat we need a bottle of champagne bubbles to go with a bubble bath how about that nice big open space this apartment will do toilet closet I am happy here now once we got settled in we took a quick walk through town to pick up our city passes from the tourism office along the way the horses in the monument oin Fountain cut our eyes that Fountain is gorgeous after that we walk to the tourism office to pick up our city passes for our visit the City Pass is really cool and gives you an unlimited access to public transportation including the River shuttle now Colleen wanted to take the boat ride to the C Museum once we had our city passes in hand we walk towards the river through the Treeline esplanad de k what I can say so far is I’m in love with Bordeaux this place feels a little bit like Paris a little bit like New Orleans none of the crowds none of the pretentiousness or any of that stuff it’s just an amazing place I’m happy to be here so we are headed over to the city duvant which is the wine museum that you need to go to so we’re going on that little boat right there I always love being on a boat boat and I think the boat is one of the best ways to see a new city in Europe so looking right at the Bor is [Music] stunning that funny looking building is the city of wine museum and on this bridge The Columns change color they’re lighted and the color changes whether it’s high tide or low tide that’s pretty cool very cool the elevator we’re going upstairs to try some cool stuff come on now we had heard that the C was a great museum and we were not disappointed this is an informative and playful interactive Museum that gives you a whole new perspective to enjoying wine from around the world this museum is a must stop in Bordeaux even if you’re not a wine [Music] lover after seeing all the information smelling the smells learning about the grapes I chose a French provos Rosie good choice all right let’s go outside and drink the ferry boat dropped us right here we went through that bridge and it dropped us right here yeah to BAU I like it here I like it here very much if going to Bordeaux is on your mustsee places then check out our guide right here it includes some of the best places to stay of course all the sseeing to do in Bordeaux some wine tasting and some of the best restaurants in town check it out there’s a link in the description and see if it’s a good fit for you now at the end of a beautiful day we headed into the old city to try some classic local dishes so the best way to look at a menu is with a beverage that has bubbles in it they put that in a bread basket oh there you go I’m actually hungry we’ve been walking all day in [Music] bordo yeah I like B this is 48 hours in borto but I think we’re going to come back there’s a lot of things that we love about this city and the food so far doesn’t disappoint try it you can see the jelly here with the with the Pate it’s a country style Pate so it’s not smooth like aaga but that bread like look at that that is a thick European bread this is going to be a good dinner it’s awesome [Music] [Applause] go that looks yummy I want to try it on our table I was wondering what this little pot was with this cute little spoon that is my salt for the table oh yeah so this is a Jud which is a piece of the cheek and it is very tender like they cook it for I don’t need a knife in here this is falling apart look at that that thing is falling apart I almost ordered something else and the waiter suggested this like oh my God I’m glad he did I was telling him what I like and he said maybe you really want to try this one like wow I don’t know if I can film because I’m going to be busy eating you got to try some of this yeah oh I definitely want to try some yeah yeah that’s next level this is good look at this look at this and I got the coule white beans pork slow cooked roasted for hours they got the flavors right wow you have multiple pieces of meat in there I’m going to have a piece of the sausage like if you like beans and por pork and and slow roasted stuff I mean this is just Heavenly wow this is good watch this down with a local [Music] SI yeah I’m a happy man the good news is Antoine is filming and I have the spoon hold on hold on oh that crispy thing oh yeah oh my God no I have a spoon and I’m not afraid to use it bring it back here that is so good yeah cream puffs with ice cream and whipped cream and something but oh dripping in my hand all I can say is it tastes like more after dinner before we headed back to our apartment we walk to PL labul to check out the beautiful lighted [Music] Fountain it’s day number two and time for a good French breakfast and in Bordeaux a Peno Chaka is called a Chaka tetin oh my goodness is as crispy and delicious as I’ve ever had an almond croissant wow excellent so now that we had breakfast we’re going to go get our rental car and we’re going to drive off to the Santo area and the actually Sant Med Village and visit all the little Vineyard Villages and we’re going to go and have a wine tasting and a castle on top of the hill Colleen and I can’t wait to go and experience that so this is going to be a great day from the moment we pulled up to this Hillside Village I couldn’t stop smiling I am excited to explore these cobblestone streets and Tiny Alleyways of course you have a lot of wine shops here but there are also plenty of art galleries and cute little stores [Music] [Music] [Music] 350 so we just left the bakery where the original macarons were made they started making them over 400 years ago but these little babies right here are made not with a crushed almond flour these are with crushed almond and they don’t have them stacked up together like a sandwich they’re just a little cookie like that and we need to try those and they also had some other ones that were with chocolate oh it’s falling apart M there’s no eggs no gluten no any of that stuff in there it’s more like a cookie than a macaron what I’m used to but it’s very nice it’s like a crumbly biscuit almond cookie and I think I like it but that is the Camelia in macaron just typical from here and then we got these which are completely typical of the area this is a canala and that is made with a crepe batter uh put into a copper pot it looks like it’s chocolate or something else it looks like maybe a baba rum but it doesn’t have any rum it’s just a simple little crepe battered cake so you want to try one I do yeah it’s basically a a little cake I mean there’s no chocolate no rum I don’t know I want to have something with it I want to dip it in Nutella chocolate but it’s very nice that’s caner from Bordeaux So today we’re sitting in a little cafe Terrace at a restaurant called bon oh yeah look at that this is how you start your day Mercy that is a bon salad it has toast with fagra some different kinds of meats some tomatoes lettuce some olives a whole bunch of yummy in there and I am very excited to have this salad today that is Duck and my salad and oh boy that’s good the server was telling us that the thing to order here is uh duck like because duck is a very Southwest thing yeah and she wasn’t wrong that’s delicious [Music] two of my favorite decadent Pleasures champagne sag and a beautiful setting this is Heaven on toast a bit of salt on top of it man this is extraordinary wow it’s not a thin slice but it say m Canal good salad like that oh this is good great salad wow big mix of a little bit of everything so Colleen stayed champagne but I had to have a glass of Bordeaux in Sant milon I mean the Sant milon Village in Bordeaux I had to have it [Music] cheers this is like mountain climbing after lunch we headed up the hill to see the ABY at the top of town where I lit a healing candle for a dear friend [Music] now we have a quick 10-minute ride to an amazing Castle to try some [Music] wine here at the vineyard we started off with the history of the castle we walked through the vines we checked out the wine making process proc and of course we tasted a little bit of their wine it has been another long and wonderful day and it’s time to head back to Bordeaux for some dinner tonight we’re having dinner in a restaurant called leare which is a lovely outdoor Terrace in that square around the Leal area which is just restaurants all around it and this should be good it was re commended by a guy who hangs out in bordo all the time I can’t wait to try it so tonight we’re toasting with champagne because we are having oysters and Bordeaux is known for oysters it’s right by the coast there’s a long Estuary that comes in and some of the best oysters in the world come from Bordeaux so cheers with oysters and champagne so in France oysters come with the vinegar that has chopped shallots in it uh normally and they there’s a lot of different Gourmet vinegars that I’ve seen with them but this should be very nice with a little bit of buttered bread you know what uh goes great with uh oysters what goes great with oysters champagne champagne and oysters yeah I’m not a big fan of uh vinegar with oysters I prefer lemon on them oysters and champagne that’s the way to do it this is a chunk of meat and they give it to you with this sauce which I’m not entirely sure what it is it looks like a barones and then I’m going to take just a little bit of that bone marrow and drop it right up here that’s a fresh Bernay sauce yeah it’s two totally different flavors with the bernes and the bone marrow but both of them are amazing so I got scallop with ravioli look at those oh wow they said this is a great place for seafood and I’m getting the idea that it is yeah it’s got a ravioli here a mushroom ravioli this is served with mashed potato which I expect is going to be nothing short of amazing yeah wow this is really good we were recommended this address by a friend local and this is amazing this is amazing really [Music] good on our third and final day in bordeau we decided to walk through town and start with a quick breakfast we headed down the vibrant place the Lai where we found the giant sculpture this is where r s Katrina the longest pedestrian street in France begins we stopped in igly SLE on our way to La Port that place is super impressive and of course no trip to Bordeaux is complete without a visit to the Miro in front of one of the things that’s really cool is inside this park along the riverfront there’s little benches Shady spots and stuff where you can just almost disappear read a book have a lunch and right here is the Boris The Plaza of the Boris which means the water mirror is right across we’re coming up I got to take off my shoes all right he’s going in I’m going in how is it Oh I thought it was going to be cold it’s not it’s not it’s nice it’s actually refreshing I can imagine in the summer this would be fabulous this is just awesome right in the middle of everything so if you’re concerned about coming Barefoot over here then you don’t have to worry about that because you can walk here with shoes the water is not as tall as my little pinky but I promise you in the summer months this will be really refreshing uh-oh what’s going on I don’t know what’s going on it’s just a little Mist it’s a little Mist that means that something is about to uh oh we better hurry yeah I’m fully dressed daring [Music] what do you say we go have some seafood now I am so down for having some seafood cuz this is a marine Town we’re right on the giron Estuary so Seafood is definitely on the list so we’re here at the caban mar we’re right here by for coo just in the heart of everything and we’re here to have a seafood platter because this is a seafood Town we’re right at the end of the girl on estare right off of the Bay of bisque and this should be fabulous this is the start to something good yeah that’s the way to conclude a 48 hours in Bordeaux it’s the best way to start it the best way to spend it and the best way to end it bottom line everywhere we go there is champagne yes okay Mercy I know a lot of people don’t like to open up their own shrimps but that’s how they do it in Europe so you’re going to peel your own [Music] thing I never would have thought that was good but it’s pretty nice yeah only half of it is yours okay don’t get any ideas here what am I supposed to eat that with bread butter Mayo right well so fresh wash the lobster down with champagne so I’m going to have this bad boy right here longus this one you just crack it like that you know you just go pinch it in the middle and you open it going put some mayo my shrimps and that that is the pincher from my Lobster do you have seafood PL like that in Florida no you can get a basket of shrimp or stone crabs on a dish you can get a lot of different things but I’ve never seen a platter done exactly like this it’s not something I’m used to in Florida and I and I grew up in Florida yeah this is the best way to finish our trip in Bordeaux cheers in this video we’re taking a day trip from Paris to the lir valley and we’re going to visit Three mustsee castles like this one right here and we hired a private tour guide hi Valentine how are you nice to meet you to take us around and show us all of the hot spots with great historic background this is a bridge between occupied friends and free friends this is a bucket list item for me let’s go Al hona so it took us an hour to get into tours and an hour to get from the train station here but it’s an enclosed Forest so the whole Forest is inside the wall and it’s the size of parot is which I had no idea about that okay so this is the big political statement of Francis the first FR PR building this also to show that he is legitimate on the throne of France that’s also why he’s speaking so much about religion in his castle because he’s also saying this is not by chance this is not only because two kings before me died without a son it’s also because of God it’s a miracle so when you get here you’re in the courtyard and you really can feel this this mix between French and Italian architecture because you have this remain of what used to be the French force and the Gothic architecture in in in France before those kings went to Italy so big towers big tower and also also all this verticality on the roof this is French but if you look at the details you see all the sculptures and all the columns are very Italian and the reason for that is that actually when the kings were going to Italy they were coming back also with with uh Italian artists and craftmen who were working here on the spot there is fr FR wa so you can’t really see it so well from here but there’s two stair cases and one is coming up this way the other is coming the other way and they don’t touch in the middle like you have to exit on a floor like this in order to connect with your friends FS for fris and salamanders the salamanders are the emblem of Francis the first and they can be seen here in chambo more than 800 times so they’re everywhere in the castle on those ceilings but also in smaller sculptures a little bit [Music] everywhere wow we’re right in the middle of the towers we were looking at from below and check out that view oh man and then you have the center Tower oh with the FLIR at the top and the salamanders on the side and the big salamanders on the side Val was telling me earlier that you see there’s these black and uh circles and triangles and things in the walls that this is a throwback to the Italian architecture and stuff because over there they would have black and white marble in the cathedrals and then over here they’re using the local Stone and the Slate to have a little bit of the same effect F RF fr the France Francis King of France it’s actually quite cool because when you’re far away from the castle you have this impression of this perfect White Castle and when you get close to it every stone is graffities also this is not contemporary so this is very old they wrote their names I mean maybe some of this one may be new but the old one here with the proper letters that actually is all here we’re going through a loia that is also an Italian thing you know this outside inside Space is really Italian you cannot find this okay in traditional French um castles so this it’s quite cool and so this is the bed of the king we we can know that because it has this little stage mhm and then it has well the fs on the top and also the two canopies that show that it’s the canopies that are uh show that it’s a more important person that is sleeping here we don’t have so many original um furniture from the 1500s for two reasons the fact that the kings were Nomads you know they were never staying in the same castle for example Francis the first who is the king with who was moving the most okay in average during his 32 years of Reign he was moving every 16 days so it means that he was going from one city to another from one Castle to another and they were moving with the whole Court the all the that’s a logistical nightmare all the Furnitures okay all sometimes even the doors so it was a convoy of miles it was 5,000 to 10,000 people depending on the on the rain and they needed 18,000 horses to bring this uh every 16 days yeah wow so now we’re going to drive over to the town of ambois which is about an hour away and we’re going to grab a bite before we go see our next Castle that’s delicious so where are we going next uh we are going to a small castle that is called L CL okay it is the house where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last three years of his life Leonardo da Vinci yes here in France yes okay he was invited by King Francis the that you already know now yes and he spent three years here uh in Onis and he died inz and is actually buried in the chatau roal DZ the royal castle of and so he came all the way from Rome from Rome toaz uh it took him 3 months and he came with uh three paintings including the Mona Lisa that’s why we have the Mona Lisa in France now it starts to come together yes we actually didn’t steal it they call it a chateau wait but it’s more like a manor house so this is the bedroom where Leonardo da Vinci died okay where he he wrote his last will which is something very important for French history because actually in his will he wrote that he would give his uh the three paintings including the Mona Lisa to his pupil and this pupil is the one who sold them to the king of France and that’s how the monalisa ended up in the Royal Collections and then in the Lou this is really cool check this out Leonardo’s Workshop I had no idea he was in uh in France this is so cool so when he was here he was quite old so he didn’t really work on his paintings anymore but he had pupils who were working with him and he was teaching this whole level is about uh the inventions of Leonardo yeah because Leonardo was also an engineer he was mostly an engineer wasn’t he yes he was everything he was an engineer he was a a painter but he was also a botanist he was a uh he was doing so many things for many things we have this impression that he was a genius but he was mostly uh enhancing things for example this catapult it’s an an enhancement of cabals that have been existing since the Roman times that bridge is a full full siiz scale of one of his designs yes it’s a bridge that he actually um designed after the plague time of the plague so some people walking here and some people walking below yes so they didn’t didn’t crush each each other very clever yes it looks like a toy for kids but this is an actual life-size model of one of his Works yes exactly Leonardo was working a lot on um how to get men to fly actually and so he was working on the air pance and so this is one of the things that he tried to do but it’s not taking off where are we going now uh we’re going to chateo it’s 15 minutes from here and you’ll see it’s a very very beautiful a lot of people ask us if we do tours around France and around Paris and the truth is is neither Colleen or I or professional tour guides and we don’t have the time to do it that’s why we’ve put together on our website a list of recommended tour guides that can take you to places like Normandy Lu valy champagne even Y and bordo like Val took us today all day in no valy if it’s the type of stuff that you would like for yourself check it out I put a link in the description below and see if it’s a good fit for you so this one is the CH the shin so which is the ladies Castle from what I’ve heard and I can’t wait to see what it is I’ve seen pictures all around the Metros in Paris and in books and things and I’m just really excited to see it and learn about it Shu has this nickname the ladies Castle because uh many ladies had something to do with this construction its announcements some ladies lived here this Castle is mainly famous because it was di the PES Castle the mistress to Henry II King of France but I’m going to try to tell you more about it basically it’s a mistress Castle uh partly not only that is one heck of a mod check that out oh wow yes because originally this place was a fortress so you can see there’s one Tower that is remaining from the previous Fort and the moats and this used to be a a draw bridge Once Upon a Time so you see this is Katherine am medici’s Garden this is where she would throw some parties uh in the Summers she was a big party organizer Katherine medich yeah because she was ruling friends at the time of the wars of religion mhm and so between the Catholics and the Protestants mhm and so she wanted to reconcile everybody and one of the tools that she had in her tool box uh social and parties yes here you get to this entrance is really the same thing as I told you before this first French Renaissance that is a structure that is French with the turrets on the sides and then the decoration very intricate decoration sculptures that are really Italian inspired and the salamander y again Frank again one thing that is good in this Castle is that because it’s a private Castle it’s owned by a family you have like flowers everywhere fresh flowers so this is the chapel you see the stained glass windows that are actually from the 1950s okay because a bomb an American bomb fell really close to the castle and all the original stainless windows were destroyed sorry about that no you were trying to save us and here it’s just like in versailes you have this balcony that is actually connected to the kings and queens room yeah so that they can attend Mass without being with the The Peasants the no the noble peasants the noble peasants what’s next we’re going to see the gallery of the Sher River oh this the big Salon we saw from outside this is the part of the castle that goes over those arched Bridge exactly that’s so stunning yes if you look through the windows you can see the river this room was actually um built by Katherine medich was finished in 1577 and we know that she threw a big party here because it’s actually a ballroom yes uh again these parties that she was throwing to try to make everyone happy and not fight and the Protestant and not fight against each other this place was also important during the first world war because the family who owns it today purchased the castles the castle actually in 19113 so by 194 they were already owning it and they decided to transform the whole castle into a military hospital and so this Gallery was full of beds on both sides so it’s really the image that you have uh of a military Hospital in the second world war until 1942 France was divided into two parts remember this Nazi occupied France in the north and vishi France in the South well the border between those two parts was this River okay so this is a bridge between occupied France and free France and so the care keeper was somebody who would like um hide people in the woods and give them the go when the Nazi patrols that were here were going a little bit further patrolling a little bit further and would give the go to people that would like run through this gallery to free France try to escape to Spain and then to to the US this has been amazing I I feel like I saw the lir valley with a local friend that just lives here I mean I know you’re a hired guide but it feels like I’m here with a friend thank you you’re welcome you’re welcome it was my pleasure um now I’m going to take you back to the train station so you can take your train back to Paris okay um so it was a great pleasure for me and thank you for joining me oh that awesome thank you I’m going to take a hug that’s awesome if Paris is the fashion capital of France then Leon is the Gastronomy Capital with amazing food and history and this is a bucket list destination for me so in this video we’re going to go spend 2 Days in new with our daughter and her friend from the US we’re going to eat in some famous bushon restaurant we’ll visit the old city will also visit the famous Fier Cathedral on top of the hill and Colleen and Elizabeth will learn how to make macarons with the master Baker at the Richard chocolatier and macaron kitchen lab in Leon this is going to be epic on to get to Leon from Paris is just two hours on a tgv train or about 5 hours by car we did a little both and took a train and rented a car to visit more cities in the south of France day one in Leon starts just before lunch we sent the girls off on their own so we could have a romantic adventure we are sitting in the Square they have a brochant or like a flea market it’s a a townwide little yard sale and we’re sitting in a bon restaurant just on the side of the square enjoying some typical lionise food and there’s like old stuff like stuff you can’t find anywhere like typical old things an found maps from the schools when he was a boy but you have copper things and utensils and household stuff just all kinds of things you can find everything here from like used clothing to heirloom antiques from the old attic or the Chateau you bought and are fixing up there’s old vinyl albums and glasses and forks and knives and plates from God knows when all kinds of stuff it’s pretty cool our first meal in the Y first meal in the so for my first course I ordered this so this is oh yeah this is a a poached EG it’s cooked all the way it’s not running and then there is larm and a nice salad that was part of the menu and that looks absolutely delicious and the best way to start a meal wow this is really good well this is just the first bite I want to try the bacon h is it all the flavors you wanted this is everything and then some let me put it that way to you when you’re in the city of gastronomy in France even a salad a simple salad with vinegar and larden and Crouton and a poached egg on top of it is magnificent this is really delicious brush it down with a one that’s not too far from here a balet yeah that’s a great way to start a meal so this is poached eggs that have been marinated in red wine and cooked in red wine and it said pork bellies but that looks an awful lot like a mushroom that is a mushroom I have mushrooms onions eggs croutons this little pickled onion and pork belly the Simplicity of flavors like you can taste each ingredient that’s in here very simply nothing overpowers anything else and it’s like a symphony of flavor like everything plays off of the other mushroom Crouton and pork belly oh yeah with wine sauce well Bon B I got a canel so this is a typical thing in y but it’s more of a mous that’s shaped in the sausage shape I haven’t had canal and ear so let’s see if I remember what it is and the SAU is divine this is really good I’m enjoying this this is a typical lionise specialty which is a sausage with pistachio served on lentils oops you got the lentils you’ve got the pistachio right there on the sausage I’m expecting this to be a celebration of flavors it’s a little more peppery than I expected kind of a coar grain sausage has nice [Music] flavor next we wandered through the shops and streets of the old city and we stopped inside the beautiful St John the Baptist Cathedral where I got to light a candle and say a quick prayer so in y we decided to stay in an Airbnb so follow me I’ll show it to you so we got a uh big uh living room space here upstairs with a kitchen table and a full kitchen head one thing about this unit is the stairs are pretty steep so if you’re not good at climbing stairs as especially steep one this unit’s not for you so right downstairs in the basement you have three bedroom so down here you have actually a full bathroom here with a shower it’s very modern appliances and uh this is just a uh bedroom so all all three of them are pretty much about the same size and we’re on the basement we’re underneath so we have small windows at the top I’m going to put a link below to some of the hotels that you can stay in Inon and if you have a hotel that is super memorable and you think everybody should know about it make sure to put it in the comments [Music] below now let’s take the panicular down to the old city and have dinner in another bushon [Music] restaurant is [Music] she just had a bite of anon ravioli with the fog ra and the f r sauce it’s a winner lately that’s just what I was in the mood for that’s good [Music] So today we’re going to make macarons at reard who if you saw our video on finding the best macarons in Paris these were our number one choice and this is exciting they call it a lab it’s not an industrial Factory this is an artisanal family-owned business I cannot wait to make macarons with these guysa Liz and I got to work with the reard chefs we made the batter for the shells syrup we even mixed the delicate batter by hand we got to squeeze the batter onto baking trays to form the [Music] cookies flattening them out wait it helps to smooth them out and make them less puffy and more of that smooth flat macaron texture that you’re expecting voila okay oh yeah it’s mering it’s uncooked mering so all that by hand like that I mean that is a uh that’s artisanal oh my the thing is moving my I lost the the red thing the gloves are big you lost the thing I can have it back but I lost it no because the gloves are huge that’s the texture it needs to be so Liz and I help them do by hand all these little squeezy Little Things but if you want to have them actually look the same you put it through the machine this is probably the most industrial thing that they’ve done here is to put that in here so that it squeezes the little uh uniform siiz macaron shells out and it brings it through this uh transfer part so they’re all even and consistent and they have all of the quality control and quality control consistency so that no matter where you buy your reard macaron around the world you’re getting the same high quality consistent piece of deliciousness you can pretty much order the rishard macarons from the website and get them anywhere in the world but for sure you can get them around the US oh very cool that’s awesome and we got to put the giant trays into the rotating oven now we’re cooking I think they’re ready you can smell it oh that’s good oh yeah with the [Music] hook so this is them all finished and done this is fresh out of the oven half for you half for Lizzy oh you made that it’s tasty it just doesn’t taste like a macaroni it’s a a moist vanilla cookie oh this is good that would be great with the coffee just like that a half a shell we made the ganache filling yeah well together [Music] Colleen making her first macaron so how easy it is to make a macaron um I’m not going to try this at home you take the little doohickey and you put the other little doohickey on top and then you go I see shoot it’s that one’s good yeah perfect look at you hey voila yeah when it’s fresh like that it oozes out [Music] this one is whichever no soie you can see the the delicacy of the the texture like the crispy part right here you have the satisfaction of the Crunch and you have the lightness of the of the cookie and the richness of the ganache but like Liz said it’s um it’s one piece so all of those come together in one I mean this is as fresh as it gets it is an amazing macaron oh for the French cheese yeah there you go lior that’s amazing oh he said and this ladies and gentlemen is coconut you know what I’m going to try with this another piece of richer chocolate with it okay there’s get this right this chocolate with this macaron is heaven full stop oh wow wow it’s really really good good once again we send the girls off on their own and we headed across the river to the qu part of town we’re just around the corner in a little Boon because I wanted to know if the bu in Leon are the same as the bu in Paris we’re going to find out pause for the important things yeah yeah was SLE so [Music] vegetable it’s a very refreshing summery kind of a dish I like it a fabulous food yeah and I got the riette of duck this is not pork that’s very interesting so they give you a little toast like that put a little piece of Cornish right there on my fingers yet this is amazing I like it with pork but with duck it’s just a whole different flavor and it’s oh it’s awesome that’s all there to say about this is you have to try it come to Leon have yourself a ma vage a little bit cool with some riette I gu so tonight Antoine got a chicken but I got a duck and we’re going to see how this thing is is look at that that is a duck Ki and it looks like it is cooked until it’s going to fall off the bone that’s what I’m betting it it’s like a little bit crispy in the skin oh yeah that is so moist and so tender and when you bite into it you can still feel the crispiness of the skin melting meat of the duck wow that’s good and the juice I don’t know what’s in that but it’s good and I got the quarter chicken or chicken leg they call it the crease here oh it’s coming off look at that so it’s in a I believe an alfredo sauce that’s what they advertised it as little bit of Parmesan on top look at this this is so moist and it has nothing to do with the sauce it literally melts in your mouth a very affordable meal this is a bras bu so you’re stand with Basi a little bit off the center so that’s usually a good sign like any kid would actually enjoy that chicken with french fries and on top of that it tastes marvelous wow those are the little pray line things that we saw the rose pre line that we saw in the bakery and in a chocolate shop they are crispy nutty yummy things you got to crack it this may be just what the doctor ordered today M yeah oh it’s a crunchy uh I can hear it from here it’s the Simplicity that they do here it’s exactly the right amount of flavor for each ingredient so you have a symphony it sticks to your teeth in a good sort of way oh wow that’s really interesting that’s very very good very well done Leon is the capital of gastronomy in France and now I know why it’s been enough another amazing day in Leon now it’s time to get some [Music] rest of all the amazing churches and Cathedrals I’ve seen 4va is easily the most [Music] beautiful so one of the main thing I wanted to see in Leon was the Leal by Paul buus which is basically a food court but gastronomic like Gourmet everything in there is the best of the best at least supposedly so we’re going to put it to the test let’s go and check it out we were there we were making macarons right here yesterday let’s go and check it out if you’re in Leon you want to taste the macarons that Colleen and Elizabeth made yesterday you come to this store right there they’re all here and they’re chocolates this is all prepared foods and stuff you can buy to take home and eat later so you have restaurants you can actually sit down and have a meal here you can sit you know places where you just buy meat or fruits or vegetables but as you can see here there’s plenty of places you can sit down check out the right there right here this restaurant is seafood platter if you want oysters or just a seafood platter that’s what they do here exclusively get a bottle of white and I enjoy some oysters it’s an amazing place I’ve never seen anything like that been in Paris oh my God how adorable are those so my only regret with uh with this is that we didn’t come here earlier we’re actually leaving in 2 hours and it’s 10:00 in the morning so we’re here for breakfast but I’m definitely coming back to Leon and I’m going to spend more time I’ll have dinner or lunch here for sure and buy some food we kind of have to go so but I’m glad I came because I know I want to come [Music] back this week we’re taking a day trip from Paris to the Champagne region I would like some of this please in my glass early this morning we connected with our private guides and driver in Paris and drove 90 minutes to The Majestic city of R for our first stop of the day the lon Winery which is the official champagne of the British royal family all right cheers then with the connections of our guide we’ll go to a small Family Winery for lunch and of course we’ll drink more champagne we’ll visit Doo’s grave to pay our respect and we’ll finish in a champagne Winery Co-op where colen will attempt to saber a bottle of champagne for the first [Music] time on there’s this really beautiful thing right over here what do you call this thing holy moly the cathedral the Royal Cathedral R Cathedral where what do you mean the Royal I mean this is where a man becomes a king in French history the French Kings almost all of them in this cathedral in this very Cathedral not happening in Paris not in notam they had to come all the way to notam dur not of Paris to get the crown on their head to it wa it’s I don’t know how many statues are there but that is insane it’s way more decorated than notam de par because it’s about 100 years older the one of the most famous medieval statue in France is The Smiling Angel uh-huh waiting for Mona Lisa just amazing I mean inside and outside the height of the na is way taller than nadam Cathedral of Paris it’s taller than any other one isn’t it maybe it’s yeah it’s one of the uh one of the biggest that says that this is where the first king of France was baptized I mean became a Christian we are in the year 496 sting glass in the back they were designed by shagal yeah because all of this the the windows got destroyed by the German bombings of the first world war the roof was on fire and so they rebuilt a concrete and metallic roof and shagel was commissioned he had just converted from Judaism to christianism and he was commissioned to create so that was amazing but where are we going next now we’re going to try some champagne so we I was praying for champagne when I was in the church you know and on we go to the legendary Lanson domain where we got a guided tour and a glass of one of the most famous champagne brands in the world I want this one I had not heard of this particular brand before but it is a huge champagne house primarily in the UK and what’s really cool about visiting this one is that they have their own clo or their own enclosure of Vineyards which definitely makes a difference in the controlling of the quality and stuff and I think she said 180 days after the first fruit yeah is when they do the Harvest but the real Treasures are actually buried underground there are 7 km of these tunnels where they keep bottles of wine yeah I mean just look holy moly how many bottles are in here uh 20 million 20 million bottles wow so we don’t made a vintage it’s this is incredible this is incredible 20 million bottles of champagne when they said it was a big house they meant it so this is the library where they keep bottles going back to 1904 so these are they’re little private collection of you know the Heritage or the you know just cuz they kept [Music] some one two 2 3 4 5 and each of them has 500 bottles mhm one square one of those is 500 bottles hey anine yes ma’am oh you got one of those is 500 to it just keeps going that champagne I was praying for in the cathedral is being poured right now all right cheers it’s very easy to drink has really super fine bubbles it’s light it’s like really light it sparkles on the tong almost like the bubbles they roll all the way to the back for me they roll in my brain immediately now that we’ve done this fabulous spot where are we going next next we’re going to a family run business and it’s also a place where we’re going to have lunch so welcome to the champagne V so the family work with eight tars uh separating 4 four different plots on the 12 different Villages because you know in Champagne one Village it’s equal at one crew and they produce around 80,000 buts per years you start with the Shak and she’s theer so you have two local cheeses uh the orange one is the L uh the white one is the showers uh the L it’s a little bit more stronger so you can start with the white one this is a white cheese I don’t know what it’s called I’m terrible sh sh sh white cheese I’m going to get killed for that no how do you say so this is a cat Bear cheese that’s a cat Bear cheese do you know what I I actually think is extraordinary is you’re going in a champagne house and they’re giving you a shakat tree board with champagne and you wouldn’t think of having champagne with sharat tree board or with cheese and it actually goes amazing together see look at the the skin the skin but I think you eat the one yes I’m going to put a piece of cheese and uh in in that with champagne this is great and which what what is this one contal the way the big house and I suspect v c and Mo and all this are the same it’s kind of a theme park thing right and you go and you have a guide and she tells she basically goes to her Spiel which is interesting but it’s that but when you come to a small Vineyard like this I mean look at the experience you know we’re having a plateau Shak there’s just us and we going to drink some champagne and that’s a lot more intimate it’s a lot more you got the corporate version which is going to be mo all this that for me is more where it’s at 2555 all right Pon what’s next we’ve done a big house yeah we’ve done a family run business yes and so now we’re going to head to a third type of champagne producer it’s a co-op that means it’s several grape owners yeah who all together work on creating a brand the corporate world the family world and the team world but first let’s pay our respects to the man who made all this fabulous champagne possible what is this place and why did we come here we come to o o it’s a very small village okay where this monk called aha perfected the champagne method okay because alcohol was made by monks like regular people didn’t do it the monks did it so D Peron was the Dum which is the big Abbot at the Abbey he’s the one who perfected at the turn of the 16 to 1700s who perfected the uh method Champa so the technique we’ve learned this morning to make champagne the process of making a champagne and and he’s making us happy all day yes and so we’re going to pay homage at his last residence in the church cool oh wow the pillars is what dates back to the old medieval Church MH you see that yes it get elevated it gets more and more decoration with fine painters Etc the tomb of domino P perin benedic monk par here cool if you’re looking for great tours or day trips around Paris or the French Countryside we’ve put a list of our top favorites on our website so whether you want to do it yourself or book a guide so you don’t miss out on secret stuff there’s something there for everyone and we put a link in the description below check it out and see if it’s for you on we go to the co-op passi gr where we not only get to visit the winery the second one here this is for we get to learn a little bit more about how to open a bottle of champagne properly so you carry the bottle like this you warm up with my thumb in the bottom yes you warm up the bottle uh with the SB here and when you’re ready you will tap to the point here okay okay A bit more like this okay yes so you can [Music] tap and then you warm up the line faster faster don’t be shy and when you’re ready AF it that was a [Music] process horrible well to Colleen’s uh first time ever sabering a champagne I need a saber for Christmas you need a saber for Christmas I don’t have one yet this week we’re spending a couple of days in the home of the best pin Noir in the world now we’re going to taste the pinoir the burgundy region this morning we took a 90-minute train ride from Paris to djon where our private local guide picked us up for cultural and culinary Adventure if you can lock me up here I’ll be fine not only will we discover this beautiful region but we’ll also taste some of the best Pino and Chardon that France has to offer I think there’s a lack of glasses on the table with these local connections we got access to some of the best private Vineyards to try some merel some delicious pomar right out of the barrel and of course the extraordinary new Sorge and we’ll also try some of the local dishes all while learning to sing like a local we’ll spend the night in a beautiful Boutique Hotel in bone right around the corner from the famous op the bone I think we’re being expected here welcome oh yes this is what it’s about you can lock me up here I’ll be fine here it’s 23 vintage with all this uh barrels and this one is empty is this a spit bucket y can we get rid of it cuz I’m not going to spit it okay just so that’s everybody test oh yeah put a barrel in the car we’ll take it right now thank you this was great wait a minute what are you doing it’s my uh medical uh necessary it’s an injection of wine I’m not spinning that out there either this is already good yeah when I was like at 3month Old I thought I was going to you know it would be like well it’s more like grape juice than uh than Wine but this is already amazing you would serve that to a lot of people they would say wow this is good in in this area what I found is it doesn’t matter which one you find you can find good and better yeah but you don’t find good and bad here that’s my experience Che to that yes and cheers to you amazing wine thank you m oh well back to the hotel to rest yeah I think so I think every nap now we could have done this in a day trip but we chose to stay overnight for the full VIP experience and we’re staying right here at low tell the that is not a typical French siiz bedroom like oh wow this is a beautiful room oh look at look at this view look at this view we’re right on the courtyard and the square was right here with the Carousel and everything and tonight we’re having dinner right there oh that’s perfect I don’t think it’s an accident that we wound up in this room first because I mean there this is here but you have like this whole huge shower oh wow let’s go check out the rest of this hotel I got to tell you something that I just noticed in this hotel the lobby the way it is right with the stairs going up yeah and then the stairs going down what sycom does it makes you think of Seinfeld no um Big Bang Theory Big Bang Theory let’s go find let’s go Penny Penny Bartholome is showing us the secrets around the hotel maybe not every guest gets the tour but we get to see where well I mean what burgundy is all about and no hotel is going to be complete without that so what are we looking at that will be the main uh wine seller of the property which is uh 10,000 bottle for about 2,000 references this is for the restaurant the bar the hotel and the small restaurant that we have in front of the property so that will be the latest Suite it’s 105 s me uh two bedrooms a large living room two bathrooms uh and you have some very nice design Furnitures that you might know which is Florence K so this is the Barcelona chair uh here you have chair from L carier the the lights are from pulsen so all design and everything uh show me the bedroom oh they’re cool check this out full size honest to goodness bed cuz our room is already pretty nice but that would be about ,000 to ,600 per night and it includes complete access to the wine seller right no I mean no now to come and experience the burgundy region either as a day trip or as a several day stop there are several ways you can do that if you want to do a day trip you can hire a driver to pick you up in Paris and take you to burgundy or do what we did we took a train from Paris galon went to djon and got picked up by a tour guy that took us in a car and made us discover this region with culture and food and of course wine tasting I’m going to put a link in the description to several of the options just check it out and see if it’s a good fit for you and tonight we’re meeting up with jod and Steven to have an amazing dinner at superb this is melt in your mouth parmesan something something something she said oh my God it’s a bubble do it all yeah yeah you got to go for it that’s like a a a boba bubble full of trop and Parmesan that’s amazing that is good stuff so it’s a a blood sausage budano with a poached eggs oh yeah it’s dripping like crazy go ahead go go go go oh yeah there’s a reason why it’s a chef special yeah this is so fine I have a parfait of fagra oh yeah it looks like to yeah so that’s a really mousy fluffy kind of a fagra yeah and a very oniony bread stick and it’s absolutely delicious did you get that fish all right look at that look at this oh yeah right now I’m going to put a little bit of what looks like guacamole but it’s not guacamole it’s a p puree wait a minute this is the light easy fresh fruit version that’s for ladies and the guys get the really Rich fattening stuff what are you trying to say daring I love you you need to tuck in there this is a twos spoon there you go there you go so we’re going to get some whipped cream and some strawberry and a little bit of oh boy a lot of bit a lot of bit I don’t know if this is difficult or if it’s just difficult after all the wine yeah I think it’s the wine talking right now but that is a delicious dessert and you got to try it when you’re here what is it called it’s Pavlova mhm the boys are having an Emily Pon moment Emily Pon yeah you got to break the uh the top oh yeah that looks [Music] good that’s the way you end a meal in friends after spending the night in our fantastic hotel we head out to the local market where the quality of the products amazed us I have never seen olives like that I mean markets in France are amazing but this one is a little bit next level for me now Steven is taking us to one of the biggest wine maker in burgundy where we about to discover and taste some of the best wines in the world we use modern facilities to make wine but we also have some BS for the tradition welcome to one of our sellers oh wow there’s more yeah there’s more it’s like amazing I think we’re going from the good stuff to the better stuff to the best stuff yeah you will see that and just uh want to show you this part of the seller because maybe you heard about it the O is the bone uh there’s a wine auction each year and we are part of this wine auction we are one of the buyer that’s why you can see some specific Bowers from theice De bone and each year we are trying to buy some new Bowers so it’s really part of our tradition we are quite proud of that aspect yeah yeah so not only do they have amazing wine MH it’s a nice family business and they’re big members of the community so that’s not actually the prison that’s where they keep the good good good stuff yes oh my [Music] [Laughter] goodness oh wow so how old is this the oldest bottle we have is this one is a clo so it’s a gr red in 1929 that’s from 1929 that’s the oldest bottle we we got over here is it still good uh we don’t know we don’t know and there’s a way to find out I here well thank you for showing us that you’re welcome so now let’s go upstairs and let’s um taste some wine I suspect she’s going to lock the cage for the Chardon you’re going to try a specific and special wine for us uh it’s a wine from Mero it’s a prier from the plot called every year in 2019 the special thing is this a wine from just P the bone as we saw the B Dan say now you’re going to taste the wine so it makes these great wines more accessible Cheers Cheers s s it’s crisp it’s light it’s easy to drink I could drink that all day long now we’re going to move to the gr crew white wine that we found on the North part of the codon it’s called the Corton charine the bottle like this would go for 150 or yeah it’s around €90 so this is basically is a $20 sip so enjoy [Music] it this is nice um the Corton Shaman is known for being what we call a a vangoro like a greedy wine it’s nice round it’s complex you have notes of exotic fruits like you may get a little bit a lot of pineapple maybe a little bit of mango coming through as well how do say white wine gets pineapple there’s a chemical reaction when you’re making wines as I say you don’t find pineapple in The Vineyards obviously it’s just soil and the roots go down and absorb the water in The Rock when you have a wine in the barrel it’s reacting with the Oak and a barrel is toasted it’s burnt inside and it brings out certain flavors now over time it will come forward as being maybe more fruit forward if you have a sunny vintage 2019 was very sunny more sunm more ripe fruits coming through it’s a natural process that that’s where you get the flavor coming through so I’m going to take a sip I’m going to close my eyes I’m going to try to get [Music] pineapples it’s not imediate you just get that flavor starts to come up like it’s just let it be in my mouth and now I’m starting to get the flavors in my mouth yeah now we’re going to taste the p uh from burgundy have you heard about B before yes by name and now you’re going to taste it so it’s fruity and it’s spicy and the pepper got me in the back yeah at the end yes it’s really so what do you eat with this oh I would eat steak a steak Yeah if you like meat like red meat steak would be really nice or barbecue during summer something spicy well I got to tell you this was extraordinary yeah thank you very much it was a pleasure for me for me the Pino is always Pleasant it’s always a good experience and um you’ve just reaffirmed perfect that peut oil is the wine so where are we going next well after a great wine tasting nothing better than lunch we’re going to go and see a friend Nicola Oso who has a fantastic restaurant so time for lunch perfect cuz after I drink I need some food these are the like tiny places that you kind of you can miss if you blink ni good for the Earth it’s good for you good for everybody the eggs it’s a great speciality of the restaurant because it’s a very special kind of making we’ll have an eggs which is cooked very long time at very slow temperature okay it’s cooked for close to 1 hour exactly 54 minutes at 64° at this temperature it’s amazing because you’re going to have something perfect in texture and taste look at that broke it open it directly cooked in the Shell open the shell that’s amazing It’s [Music] Magic this region is known for their eggs and it’s worth coming back here just for that egg [Laughter] all right so this is a leg of lamb yeah like a lamp it’s Easter so it’s very appropriate look at this it looks tender as can be low cooked for 5 hours oh wow it’s SED with a little bit of [Applause] couscous well this was an amazing lunch oh my God I Am So Satisfied I am satisfied too and now we’re going to ois the Bone yes hpis the bone is is a contemporary when was it built no 1443 1443 yeah years ago in French history called contemporary history that’s right I mean if you go for Rance yeah exactly I just yeah colen is always like oh no that’s recent I was built 300 years ago she’s like what do you mean recent America was not a thing 300 years ago for nearly 600 years the opies Deone served as a hospital for the poor and needy today it has been transformed into a museum of medicine and is primarily Renown for its remarkable architecture so what you’re seeing ladies and gentlemen is Colleen trying to figure out the audio system can you imagine getting sick and coming here for your treatments they had patients in here until 1984 for our final wine tasting session we are concluding in with a flourish of the fabulous Village of n Sorge continuing to educate our pallets with some of the finest wine experts in the world all the ones that we are going to taste are going to be PR six PR coming from the south part of Nan I think there’s a lack of glasses on the table I think so too so we’re doing 1 2 3 4 5 you go up and down seven [Music] yeah that’s good I like this one give me a case of that we know today that with the studies of geology that the complexity of the so is very important in the structure and the complexity in the wi that you’re having in your glass all right so let me try [Music] the that’s col so far mhm oh I like these two all right I like yeah I like the all right so these two and this is nut shardon nut shadon how Pino [Music] Che I’m in love with that wine that wi is it’s the end of the day now oh my God very different than the chardes you Hader today my God give me a case one case mer alen alen better next time so Steven where are we going next well this is really the last stop but it’s probably the most iconic we’re going to the Romy con Vineyard which is the most famous most expensive Pino in the world we’re talking about a bottle if you were to say like take a vintage that’s between 10 and 20 years of age it’s between 15 and $225,000 for one bottle when it’s actually sort of the winery it’s probably about comes out about $800 $900 a bottle then after 2 years it’ll be doubled in price four or five years be tripled quadrupled in price it’s the market value now let me ask you something what part of this is marketing what part of this is actually really worth it wine experts wine critics say there is something magical about these Grand crew these six grand crew vard around here Romy County and R Romy s La R they’re all absolutely fantastic they are different are they worth that it’s question mark so here’s the million-dollar question where can we taste this one the Romney County yeah open your PR I have a few places to get try if you have the budget if if you if you have a if you want a glass for $11,000 then yeah growing up in France in the 70s we didn’t play Cowboys and Indians we dreamed of defending the castle so when my brother invited Colin and I to see a real life medieval village with battle Reen and sword fighting the answer was yes what we were’t prepared for was the massive American bald eagle Prov is just 60 mil from Paris it’s a quick 1hour drive and just 25 miles from Disney [Music] and of course you don’t start a day like that without a good French [Music] breakfast hey guys what we’re going to two scissors [Applause] [Music] so this is uh built in the 12th centuries on the highest point of the province City okay they don’t use that for difference that much in 14 and 15th centuries but they use more for prisoners and the Prisoner was locked especially in these little towers Towers in the very very small area so that was really terrible for the prisoners and most of the time they was in the total darkness so I if I don’t agree with the religion of the state I can end up here oh oh yes oh yes oh yes oh yes and when you arrive here say uh oh bad news maybe this is why we don’t talk about money and religion maybe yes [Applause] [Music] wow wow so you see the complexity of the truss they say that was restor in 17 centuries and the wood when you have piece of wood that long and that large that mean that the the tree was at least 1 15 200 years so that’s 14 tree from the 1400 something like that right so that’s a 6 to 700 year old trusses at least 4 500 years old [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] come on [Music] when you go to pan the oier ramparts Hotel and Spa is a must the owners Cecil and Xavier Roy give us a tour of their medieval tunnels turned into an amazing lounge every house in this ancient town has tunnels hundreds of them all interconnected probably to escape barbarians back then today it’s there to escape the heat after a long day with a nice cold one [Music] this is [Music] [Music] see may I have a bite please you may have a bite oh this is mashed potatoes unade mashed potato I can feel it you know because that the texture the feeling the flavor this is real a m is pretty good may have another bite you may have another bite oh [Music] yeah that’s good stuff very good stuff if you don’t know why you like friends you come here on you know [Music] why hey if she’s nice [Music] PO is known for roses and they use them everywhere even in their cooking like rose flavored macaroons ice cream and sauces I think that’s the lightest macaroon I ever ate it tastes like your mouth is smelling roses it’s so light and crunchy and fluffy [Music] [Music] [Music] so this is the original uh Rose of provan this is what made the rose famous in about and it dates back from [Music] 1240 it’s like lemon and Roses yeah L Citrus Rose yeah it’s just like I don’t know what it is but I’ve never seen oh this is so nice we just ate a dessert with [Music] this this is oh this is [Music] delightful it’s very subtle this one doesn’t smell it’s like it yeah it doesn’t have much of a of a of a scent it’s very subtle [Music] but this is still [Music] nice no wonder the bees love those wow [Music] wow so how old is the uh this uh this comat well in the middle of the 11th centuy so 900 years ago yeah okay it was very small like in Europe basically you have all the time every decades somebody decide to make it bigger and growing so this part of the building was built in the almost the medieval of 18th centuries so you have here Sor between 11th centuries yeah okay up to 18 and 19th centuries so this building is almost 900 years old can 00 years yeah wow basically what you have here is you have a mix of 1,00 the probably the 1,700 and 2,000 so you have like all like you have a thousand years worth of work here between the church and the walls and everything in just a little square so it just starts small and then it grows it grows it grows like everything everything EXA same here all you had here was the church and then they build this and then the difference between France and France Europe and USA for instance so you do exactly the same but the history is 100 or 200 years old here the the the thing is TH or 2,000 old so this is a big difference [Music] so half pre tibo the C tibo first of champagne built also a larger Church to accept and welcome all the benedictines cool let’s go let’s see it let’s go [Music] Birds played a big role in medieval life they were used for communication but they’re also a symbol of power and wealth [Music] [Music] I like the eyes so smart and the name is Alaska otwa Otawa Otawa excuse me superb animal it looks smart and the eyes is so you know so nervous and look at that [Music] tastes like roses and honey Smo as can be [Music] [Music] do you have room for for one night for four person four [Music] hello whether you’re looking for romance a retreat or a family vacation Prov has plenty to offer we can’t wait to go back in this video we’re going to spend 3 days on the French Riviera we’re going to spend a couple of days right here in anti and we’re going to wander through the streets of the Old Town we’re going to try some local food and we’re going to do an absent tasting in an old bar in a cave I can’t wait and on the third day we’re going to rent a car and drive to SLE Devon which is a gorgeous medieval artist village we’re taking the tgv uh it’s going to take us about 5 and 1/2 hours to go from Paris to ATI and I bought us first class tickets which cost about 150 each actually I bought the first class because the second class was just 125 so and because you’re supposed to take first class on your way to the Riviera [Music] yeah all right darling we made it to on we’re here we’re ready to have some fun I like going on romantic adventures with you I do too after dropping our bags at the hotel we met our local guide clol for a taste of Mediterranean Cuisine which is totally different from what you find in Paris this is calamari from the bay right here they caught it this morning it’s not too salty not too lemon it’s like just right to you so romantic Adventures romantic Adventures oh you got I got no she’s a food Thief is extra that’s good that’s good this is filet s Pierre which is a very light white fish yeah I don’t know Peter Y St Peter fish St Peter fish and I don’t know what it is they say a John Dory but it’s in a cream sauce oh you just spilled on your uh now see so is this good this is excellent and I got the doe so it’s a beef stew with potato [Music] Yi it’s good you’re not going to like it I mean it’s so you it goes with it goes with your wine I’m not going to say I really liked it but I really liked it that’s been a wonderful day and I cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings when we discover around anti yeah good morning my darling good morning how’s the view oh I don’t know it’s just a you know sailboats and mountains and seagulls and you know look at that now you have the the mountain with the snow caps over there that’s the albs by the way this is beautiful let’s go see anti and so the tour of antibes begins and we knew that anti had a great reputation as being a phenomenal City but we had no idea it would be this breathtaking you know what’s really cool here what is the combination of like like the boats the Yachts are you know big and bright and new and shiny and then we have Old Stone and we have newer construction and it’s like a really good blend of many centuries right here so it was a settlement for of the Greeks back in days yeah and uh after that because there was already people all living there uh they were always at war with the Greeks yes and uh the city asked uh Romans for help because the Romans help them so much uh fighting with those tribes the city become Roman after that of course yeah because like a lot of friends if you want to look through here cool this is the beach the Sandy Beach this place is so [Music] cool look look look look look look it’s called The Nomad look at that I’ve been wanting to see this for a while and the view oh I love this this is uh one of the older uh covered markets yeah yeah local still come here to go shopping so this is definitely a Mediterranean spot like I know we’re in France but this is very Mediterranean Italian Greek everything they have all the dried flowers and fruits and spices ooh the fresh octopus and like a little is that a ray look at his face look at his little face yeah he looks sad oh yeah that is a breathtaking view like the Cell mode the blue uh sea the cliff the sun in your face we could spend time here you I could you know forget to go home not you know no stay forever just forget to go home oh man and like I feel like how much cooler it is immed it just like we uh the temperature dropped and it’s nice and comfortable right here I would never have known this without clo this is just a little residential street people don’t know about yeah and I’m smelling people cooking one we should knock on the door and say it’s the Frenchies table for two thank you for bringing us [Music] here we didn’t realize we were coming in time of Carnival because Easter is early this year so the whole season has already begun with Marty gr and in N it’s all Carnival time so we just had a special treat of these people coming through celebrating the carnival now it’s time to go have a little absent pasting you mean Aero yeah we’re having Aeros it’s a little before lunch but we’re going to go drink something amazing in a cave we’re here in the cave but back in the Roman days this was street level and that was The Well of the Romans right over here and this is where we’re going to try the absen and see if I can make it back up the stairs absent is always a nan drink typic from France at the beginning of the last century yeah and a lot of artists like Ving way drink absent but they drink huge quantity of absent because there is no taxin on the alcohol so a glass of absent was five times less expensive than a glass of wine and that’s why they drink a lot a lot of absent so there is a special way to drink the absent we always have Fontaine Fontaine that you got on the table we put some ice inside we always put 2 C of absent in a measure glass like this one you see you’ve got a measure glass on the bottom a little spoon one pieces of sugar and we take the time to Ser slowly water through the sugar in the absent to have the ritual of the absent and after you sep it you take the time to drink it so after the first glass of absent we end up wearing hats that’s just how it works it’s delightful it’s actually very light when you say it’s very light I love it here you got the same straight oh okay it’s going to be a long afterno just sip it a little just sip take it your time to see what 76% of alcohol can [Music] be so this is this is why they put sugar and water look Madam look look at the remember the first time that he saw you you got the same eyes I love you slowly yeah because it’s very strong at the beginning but the after test is absolutely amazing yeah I like it no it’s that’s a problem though I know it could definitely be a no because I don’t uh I don’t do a lot of strong alcohol because it burns yeah this doesn’t burn taste the light one oh it’s a different one you all different ones on the table you’ve got four different ones the light one is more sweet man I mean it if you don’t tell someone there’s alcohol in there you just drink that that’s that’s a refreshing drink it’s very [Music] refreshing to being pompet before lunch I should put the one open that’s more like it where are we going we’re going to go wander through some of the streets in the old town yeah and we should probably find food after drinking this morning oh I know where we’re going now we’re going to that [Music] restaurant so it’s a restaurant n which means nny nny boo boo in French that’s what it serious that’s serious that’s what a kid says and it looks like they have nice sandwiches and pasta and main courses okay it’s delightful that’s off mayonnaise which is kind of like just you could say a deviled egg and we’ve seen those in previous videos but this one has hering caviar on it look look look look you can see like how yummy that’s going to be thought she was going to feed me the texture of the white and the texture of the yellow that the the yolk is just a little bit gooey that’s a good egg mayonnaise oh yeah oh and the mayonnaise in Fran’s fresh homemade mayonnaise yeah that’s very good this is like a pork belly pork uh rib belly mhm and I’m going to put just a little bit of the sauce here that is the funniest thing with the popcorn it has corn it has chopped veggies and I think I just need to put a little piece of popcorn on top let me get that just cuz clearly the popcorn is supposed to be there every piece of flavor in here it’s like a symphony like it would definitely not be the same if something was missing I got the duck feet it’s got a little bit of herbs there and let me take a uh oh man look at this Charlie look at this look at this meat falling apart here a little oh man this looks fabulous a little baked potato there no potato for you no okay wait a minute I have no idea what this is but it it looks really good it was the something something something ug good stuff huh it’s a Nutty caramel peridol with no chocolate yeah that’s exactly what it is amazing which exactly what I meant something something something by the way if you’re looking for day trips from Paris we have several guides to amazing location while you have info on where to stay where to eat and where to have fun there’s a link in the description below check it out and see if it’s a good fit for you anti is amazing and I’m not quite ready to leave but it’s time to go we’ll definitely be back right for sure it’s time to go and pick up a rental car and we’re going to drive over to St Paul Devon for more Adventures oh my look at [Music] this hey we left the beach and now we’re in the mountains with drop dead gorgeous views check that out yeah wow this game here it’s called ponk we’ve seen it several times but this is actually from here from the south you know for us the southerners Mar they drink pasties and they play Pon and they take it really serious and they take it very seriously it’s very cool and I have never seen this special little string that they have with the magn on the bottom so they don’t have to bend that’s brilliant they made a little sculpture of those uh Bonk yeah so that’s the that’s the cushion and those are the ball and this is how you can tell your ball the difference between yours so this one has two three stripes this one has three stripes differently so you have different kinds of balls that look different so you know which one is yours and you have some that are have absolutely nothing on them what’s crazy is the terrain is completely different and we’re like less than 30 minutes drive but the whole vibe the whole scenery the whole ecosystem is totally different yeah let’s go let’s go check out the cannon this is a real [Music] Fort oh darling Oh Darling [Music] see how far you can go I’m I’m like if I’m like you know I mean if I slump a little bit I’m there but if I just put my arms like that’s I’m the width of the street so Street you go like [Music] this this is a washing machine it’s the oldfashioned laundry mat exactly yeah the water uh so there’s a there’s a slant right and then uh they just put the water and everything and then evacuates right there they rub them on the sides and then they drain them and right exactly he used the stone to wash the clothes and they’re polished as uh as could be because well they’re well worn well [Music] used that’s a pair a pair of what that’s a pair of ass everything about this town is absolutely Charming I love it yeah how’s the view so we are walking along the outer ramparts of this walled medieval village yeah on our way to lunch and we’re just soaking in all the beauty this is the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous now let’s discover some more local specialties it’s Pizza can I eat it with my yes can I eat it with my fingers yes you can they give you a fork and a knife but that’s a suggestion at best if I was really French I would do it that way but I’m American French yeah M it’s a nice sweet onion with the Tang of some olive with the olive like really good quality olive oil yeah the bread is soft on the top and crispy crunchy on the bottom like I don’t know if you hear that crispy crunch but here yeah I think I hear it what’s going on right now is my mouth is watering yeah I got Dan CH too I got to be delicate I’m in samp this is really good I’m actually I’m a have a serious Envy for a glass of um Rosé just cuz we drank enough yesterday doesn’t mean we can’t have another one okay I’m going to have a glass of Rosé well only me right you’re not having any right let’s just be clear thank you for ordering a glass of wine don’t cool okay see that’s just falling apart you see well I’m going to have to try that that looks like tender sounded like a donkey it is a donkey you know why the donkey is uh talk that good stuff [Music] mhm it’s amazing it’s absolutely amazing it’s great and I got the steak it’s a beautiful [Music] steak excuse me excuse me take my wine take my steak all right there you go just like that good Stu no here Che to you oh I got a bigger glass was that’s the same no you drink half my glass here [Music] cheers so how was it my darling that was just plain yummy well let’s go into town and get out of the sun cuz I’m a little fried and so are you it’s it’s amazing how brilliant and how warm it is you know how brilliant the sun is and how warm it is here in February I can only imagine the summer months just over this wall you can see the cemetery for the town and that is where Mark shagal is buried right there oh yeah right there that’s where shagal is buried well let’s go and let’s go and uh pay our respect to chal let’s do [Music] it and he’s right here Mark your go you see yeah I always thought of him alive so much longer ago but I was still in University when he passed and like people apparently leave uh little rocks with little signature and little messages rest in peace love shagal it’s pretty cool yeah that’s a amazing resting place there is so much more to France than just Paris like thousands literally thousands of cities and if you saw our bucket list video you know I want to check some things off so today we’re going down to neem ARL Aven and the Kamar and I can’t wait Al we boarded the 2 and 1/ half hour highspeed train from Paris to neem with our daughter Liz and her friend Kel [Music] when we got to me we picked up our rental car for the 15minute ride to chatau Compu we chose the Chateau Compu as our home base because it’s so close to all of the places that we want to go and it’s the vineyard of some of my favorite wines we stayed in a spacious two-bedroom unit with a large bathroom an open kitchen and a lovely sitting area oh you can see The Vineyards yeah with so much nature and Beauty here I just want to come back for like a writer’s Retreat or an artist Workshop so we just arrived in N we dropped our bags at the vineyard and we’re here at it’s adorable little beastro that they recommended it looks like a delicious menu I can’t wait to try all the yummy stuff here and we’re already drinking some of the comp wine right [Music] here check that out this is baked camel bear with onions and larden that tastes like France the only thing missing is a little red so I want to have a little bit of [Music] that it was worth the trip just for that one so [Music] far this is a fet m and it fr fet Mino is not beef it’s pork and it came with all these yummy vegetables that’s good [Music] stuff the meat is excellent the rock for sauce is amazing steak with hot and french fries and a little salad this is the way to start this stay in the South friends right good that’s good that’s good breakfast was served every morning in the atrium of the main Chateau where the wine making family has lived for many generations that is lavender honey P Shaka with lavender honey oh my [Music] goodness this is is Like a 200-year-old Stone Cottage in the middle of a Vineyard it’s so Charming the windows all open up wide and it’s just like you’re in nature but in a house in the middle of heaven and you can hear the birds sing We heard frogs last night we got some peacocks wandering around and talk about feeling disconnected and and in touch with nature it’s it’s a good feeling let’s go check out the rest of the castle the main house here feels like a living story like family traditions and celebrations handed down through generations there’s a reverence here that’s mixed with welcoming warmth and playfulness and Legacy today we’re visiting the city of ARL which is right on the edge of provance and I’m really excited because this is a place I’ve wanted to visit for a long time they have here ancient burial grounds Roman amphitheaters and just old amazing stuff and by the way this city is famous for Vincent Van go because this is where he cut his ear and we’re just going to hang out see some sites look for some paintings and have something to eat this is the Alice Camp ancient burial grounds and it has been ongoing going back into BC and you can tell that these tombs these Rock tombs are pretty darn old with mausoleums and altars and all kinds of things in here this this place is I don’t know it’s interesting it’s historic it’s fascinating and sacred and I am so glad that we came here on our trip to ARL to visit the ancient burial [Music] grounds and this is where Vincent van Gogh immortalized the Alice Camp burial grounds in his painting that’s one of the really cool things about the van go paintings is you see the painting and you see exact L how the painting was done you know that was it he painted what he saw and now it’s time to grab some lunch and see the Old Town mie [Music] it’s unbelievable that this goes back into you know like BC and like thousands of years ago and they when the Gladiators were battling here and they still have bull fights but it’s not bull fights where you kill the animals they respect the animals here but it’s kind of like a bull fight and I want to come back and see that they didn’t have it when we were here but we need to come back and spend more time in ARL don’t you think oh I I would spend easily a week here it’s a great [Music] town this is the town where Van go cut off his ear and made tons of paintings right here in ARL so let’s go see some of his work okay let’s go ala ala let’s go [Music] but now it’s time to head back to the vineyard for some special [Music] activities we’re going to go do a wine tasting see what comp has to offer cuz I know they have red white and Rosé and I know the ones I’ve tried are good but we’re going to eat some food taste some wine and have a beautiful night they have a playroom here for the kids when the parents are tasting the wine it’s awesome we met up with Lao the somaler in The Tasting Room he had us smell some classic scents like flowers herbs and fruits to help us recognize some of the flavor influences in each wine the girls had never done a wine tasting before so it was especially fun for them it is Apples yeah yeah yeah this is Kitt apples we started off with a white checking the color and Clarity smelling the wine and guessing the notes of influence and of course tasting The Fabulous flavor we moved on to the Rosé which in France is particularly good so this is the Rosé from Compu and I definitely get um a serious hint of grapefruit and he confirmed that saying this is uh very much a citrus wine so if you buy the confu you’re going to get a strong flavor of grapefruit for me and uh lizie was saying a little bit of red fruit and so it’s 90% uh grapefruit and 10% red fruit so it’s it’s right there it’s a very pleasant wine it’s not sweet at all right compared to roses in the US and of course we wrapped up with a smooth fruity [Music] red I will neither confirm or deny that we were a little bit tipsy as we headed over to the compu beastro for dinner because the shell is crispy and crunchy the yellow squash is just fresh and summery the basil sauce is so light and whipped that tastes like [Music] summertime oh this is really good does it taste like summertime it does wow it’s super [Music] light it’s surprisingly light so this one is a Pate in the southwest style this is a very earthy Pate they said it was the regional so the Southwest [Music] flavoring yep [Music] M we’ve been a little bit Wi-Fi challenged here and we’re on a Vineyard so there’s lots of wine and no Wi-fi so the girls have told us that this is like a hurricane party back home because we can drink and not do much else yeah more wine for the [Music] ladies just going to take this yes [Music] that is a yummy sauce on those potatoes Franklin she starts to make some white yeah it’s surprisingly [Music] light these two flavors dance off of each other like crazy the chocolate is fantastic and the wine is fantastic but when you put the chocolate and the wine together it’s something totally new yeah delicious no question [Music] so we’re on our way to the Kamar and we stopped in this tiny little town called egg Mor which comes from a Latin translation that pretty much means stagnant water but this town is all inside an enclosed Fort where you have the little slits for bow and arrows but in here you have Charming little shops it’s a little bit touristic but I haven’t seen tourist from outside of France the whole time I mean this is where French people go on vacation this is a darling little town going back to the 1200 this is a perfect place to spend half a day on your visit when you’re down South we absolutely love [Music] it all [Music] right oh that’s [Music] this is bull me oh look at this super tender so I got the bull chimmy churi style Chasco comes with these potatoes and this sort of cream sauce and it is super super tender absolutely delicious and the chimy Cherry is rather mild it’s got a little onion tomato the usual cilantro aromatics in there but it’s really really great not quite melting your mouth but getting close enough that is mighty tender I don’t know if I’ve ever had a steak that tender check this out mol freed or muscles is one of my all-time favorites here but check those babies [Music] out I am glad I got that out seeing the Wild Horses of Kamar was on my bucket list they’re white magnificent and they live in harmony with the locals I didn’t expect to see so many of them behind fences but it was still a joy to see [Music] them the Kamar region is right on the coast of the Mediterranean [Music] and I just wanted to go put my toes in the [Music] sand Shadow comp has been a great stop and as much as we want to stay all good things come to an end after another lovely breakfast it’s time to hit the road and head up to Pond duard we’re here at p Guard and people told us we need to come here just cuz it’s cool but this is way cooler than we expected it to be this is a Roman aqueduct that has been here for over 2,000 years like 250 years so literally it was here being built before Christ was born and not only do they have this phenomenal intact Aqueduct they have hiking trails and kaying and Beach space and [Music] everything it’s it’s a phenomenal historic site it’s a great nature site it’s a family relaxing Picnic Day kind of a thing this is literally the second most visited Monument after the Eiffel Tower in France it’s pretty amazing from Ponto guard Aenon is just a 30 minute [Music] drive avenol is the second oldest city in France and you can definitely tell that these streets were not made for cars we arrived in aanon just in time for lunch in a nice [Music] cafe so this is the Palace of the Pope and neon because the pope actually lived here for hundreds of years we think of the Vatican in Rome but the pope was right here in this little house on that Plaza right in Aven let’s go check check it out there’s a stage go up you’ll see have concerts here yeah this is like a this is a production like this is a theater with the chairs and look there’s the AV Booth right there and how about that oh my God can you imagine oh my God is this an original door uh there’s no question look at that thing you can see what the ground was like before oh wow the the pal oh this is what it was supposed to look like when they were still [Music] here this is all like sheets of carton stack on on top of one another and it’s sculpted it is sculpted Amazon boxes yeah exactly it’s this it’s funny because when we first arrived I thought well this is kind of bare and boring but as you go through you start to really understand and like I’m looking at the tiny details and the sculptures that are in the Arches uh over rooms and stuff it’s it puts things in perspective all right let’s keep looking let’s go we’re going to go on the bridge now it’s pretty obvious that this was a very important city [Music] oh baby wow so this is the Ron River and this was a dividing line between the Royals of France and the Aenon which was the papacy and it stayed that way as a battle back and forth until finally Aon became part of France and well now it’s just French we’re here in June and it’s getting starting to get a little bit busy around here but this place will be absolutely packed in July and August so for planning purposes if you want to avoid the crowd come before come after but this place is a definite must it’s just [Music] phenomenal so AOL was on my bucket list and one more time Antoine made the dream come true but this is extraordinary I mean just driving into town and being just wowed by the Antiquity this place really blew us away I would definitely come back here and get lost again there’s something magical about spending the holidays in Europe and London does a particularly good job at it so in this video we’re going to take a s trip to London for 3 days where we’re going to check out the best Christmas Market we’re going to try some of their food see the iconic landmarks like the Tower of London and I’m arranging a special surprise for coling but we’re going to do tea at Tiffany’s on going from Paris to London is pretty quick easy and affordable for about €1 round trip we took the 2 and 1/2 hour Eurostar train from ganor in the heart of Paris to S pancreas station right in [Music] London and it’s pretty con venient except when it’s not so you know when you travel you never know what you’re going to come up upon and as soon as we left the station the train stopped and after a bit they let us know that there was an accident on the track that there was a fatality and we’ve been waiting almost an hour I don’t know how long this it’s it’s in a determined amount of time until we can get moving but the police are involved and there’s a lot of things happening in front of the train right now [Music] and then we got a second whammy delay and now we’re stopped again because of an unruly passenger that the police are removing from the train and you know we’ve been inconvenience somebody else’s life has been completely disrupted um so remember to behave well when things happen in your travels we’re still waiting [Music] after 5 hours we arrived in London right across the street from the King cross station where Harry Potter took the Hogwarts Express from Platform 9 and 3/4 so we just got to London it took a lot longer than was planned but we are here we’re on our way to the Airbnb and then we’re going to go visit London let’s go this is our little Airbnb great little living room we have a little TV a sitting [Music] room are you ready to go and visit London I’m ready let’s [Music] go all that traveling made us hungry so we found a pub and got some fish and chips and a Steak and Ale pie and a good Camden logger to wash it [Music] down with all the jokes about British weather I’m glad we brought an umbrella the light mist quickly turned into a downpour but that didn’t stop us from seeing the iconic spots in London so we just arrived in London we’re in carnaby Street and we’re going to go and check out the lights [Music] we’re here in pickle circus and this place is electric there’s so much going on all kinds of people all kinds of sounds it’s just it’s exciting and then we came up on the Christmas Market at Lester Square [Music] it’s been a long day and a ride in the tube is a great way to keep dry on our way home time for some [Music] rest I’ve heard more than a few French people talking bad about British food but this little bakery across the street was a perfect place to start the day and now it’s time for a front row seat on a double decker bus to the London Bridge I don’t know how much the Hop On Hop off bus cost but we got to see a whole lot of London riding in style for just 1 lb65 each [Music] well it’s it’s a little windy uh a little cold you know welcome to London uh but today we’re going to explore the uh Tower Bridge the London Bridge the ey we’re going to eat some English food and that’s it so on on the Queen’s walk along the temps from London Bridge to Tower Bridge is delightful there’s plenty of shops and restaurants a surprising number of bronze chimpanzee sculptures and of of course the Christmas by the river Marketplace so we just landed at the London Bridge station and we’re walking along the Tams and we came up on this Christmas on the river right next to the tower bridge which is the famous One everyone knows and this place it’s Charming it’s not a big Market but they have adorable shops I mean check out these magical brooms and bird feeders and all kinds of stuff that they have here little hats and whatnot but it’s just Charming [Music] there were tons of great food options but today we chose the Polish sausage with the [Music] works from Tower Bridge we made our way along the Jubilee walkway up to South [Music] Bank we stop for a hot cocoa on the rooftop of the Oxo building [Music] then we took our time enjoying the sites all the way to the Christmas Market and the fabulous graffiti skate park by the London ey Ferris F so we just walked all the way from Tower Bridge all the way over here to the South Bank Center and we’re right underneath the London Eye [Music] and as if we hadn’t already walked enough we made our way across Westminster Bridge towards Big Ben [Music] then we passed the prime minister’s house at 10 Downing Street on our way up to Trafalger Square I am so tired but I am not willing to stop we’ve been going all day and there are beautiful things over here along with some Indian food so oniva let’s go on our way to dinner we passed the Christmas Market at coven Gardens which is the old flower market from my fair lady we’re here at coven Garden market and we heard it was great someone said the granddaddy of Christmas markets in London and this place doesn’t disappoint there is row after row Hall after Hall of beautiful things holiday lights every time we thought we were done we came up on another spot it’s Charming it’s exciting it’s buzzing and there’s tons of good stuff here so it’s definitely a must to visit coven Garden in Christmas [Music] London has amazing Indian food this is one of our favorite things to have while we’re here and this place did not [Music] disappoint that was another amazing day and now we are full we are happy and we are ready for bed buses in London are not only pretty they’re very effective and we were lucky enough to have stops for major routes like line 19 right in front of our door with such a beautiful day we decided to head back to Picadilly circus to see it Without Rain and umbrellas so we’re back here at Picadilly circus cuz the night we arrived it was rainy it was dark we couldn’t see as much fun but look at this it’s awesome [Music] we heard that no trip to London is complete without a visit to fortam and Mason and we’re glad we went [Music] our next stop is Trafalger Square where we found another Christmas Market so when we were here yesterday at Trafalger Square we were tired it was dark so we’re back and we’re going to go check out this Christmas Market all on [Music] as luck would have it we stumbled upon the horse guard ceremony at St James Park that was pretty impressive and beautiful to see from there we walked down the flagline mall to the front of Buckingham Palace it was all I could do to resist offering the Queen’s wave I was thinking of all the times we’d seen ceremonies there with the Royals passing down that Road and throngs of Spectators on the sides there’s something magical and reverent about the palace and at the same time very human the tourist along with a special visitor that came with a private escort reminded us of the humor and Humanity here Buckingham Palace is marvelous but let’s go have tea at Tiffany so much what I know of London came from books and films and plays and the path we took from Buckingham Palace to herod’s brought that to life I felt like Mary Poppins or Mr Banks or Eliza dittle and Freddy eford Hill might show up at any moment and how fitting would that be on my way to have tea at Tiffany’s the Tiffany’s blue box cafe is inside the legendary herod’s department store which on its own is something to behold but what we came for was the tea and this pricey Indulgence isn’t the sort of thing you’ll do all the time but it was on my bucket list and once again then Antoine made my dream come true [Music] after a thoroughly satisfying meal at Tiffany’s the walk to hide Park was a [Music] joy I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many Swans in one place in all my life a Simply Beautiful [Music] stroll but what we came to hid Park to see is the winter wonderland this is the largest Christmas Market in London and the first clue about how big it would be is that we entered through the Bavarian section that alone was huge and the whole thing was wonderful this is the Christmas Wonderland at Hyde Park it’s the only one that you actually have to pay to get in and I’m sorry Paris but this one puts the Christmas Market of the tulleries to Shan this is huge amazing just Next Level Christmas Market so if you’re in London right [Music] [Music] here we finished the day by passing by The Marble Arch and then on to Mark and Spencer and sri’s department stores that was another long day and it’s time to [Music] rest we couldn’t leave London without a traditional English breakfast so we had the full monty at a popular spot on a quaint little Street in Islington this place is co ozy and oozing with charm made from Bloods made from blood said all right I’m doing it I’m doing it you how is it [Music] great if you like their London Christmas video you should probably watch this one next and next week we’re headed to Brugge in Beldum to visit one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the world so come back and check it out there are a lot of amazing places to celebrate Christmas in Europe but Blu in Belgium is one of our favorite so in this video we’re going to travel from Paris to Bru we’re going to check out the Christmas Market we’re going to try some of the local food and I’m going to entice Colleen in trying the rabbits too we’re going to try hot chocolate we’re going to eat waffles I’m going to have a great time come with us Ali on [Music] Now by car Bru is about 3 hours from Paris and it’s a lovely drive but you can get there by training about 4 hours from either Paris or London with a quick stop in Brussels once you get to Brugge you don’t need a car you can walk from one end to the other in about an [Music] hour since we arrive on opening night at the Christmas Market many hotels in the old city were booked so we stayed at the hotel monani just outside the canals it was an easy 10-minute walk to the center of town and it had everything we needed at an affordable [Music] price this place is so exciting there’s something for everyone I’ve seen kids with cotton candy bigger than their heads people on romantic horse carriage rides and just something for everybody [Music] and whenever we travel I’d like to try the local dishes in Brugge that means flamish food and we discovered this small restaurant called flamc 14 which is a familyowned spot making traditional homemade meals [Music] and after a meal like that and a walk through to town we’re ready for bed we’ll start again [Music] tomorrow one of the things I love about European hotels is the simple practical breakfast they aren’t fancy but they fill you and usually offer a nice place to enjoy it [Music] if you’re planning a trip to Brugge it’s a good idea to be there on a Saturday the regular City Market is awesome you’ll find great bargains on nice quality items and the atmosphere is [Music] wonderful now this is what we came for I love any Christmas Market but Brugge is something special it’s like walking through a gingerbread Village it’s really postcard perfect little chalets with wooden Treasures warm scarves at mittens gift for all ages and tons of yummy street [Music] food in case you get sick in Belgium there are two Christmas Market covering two separate Town squares and all around the markets are museums restaurants and delightful little shops selling unique things for the [Music] home I’m in utensil Heaven here and chocolate did I mention [Music] chocolate now no trips to Brugge would be complete without some mol fruit or muscles and fries and of course a little local Belgium beer to wash it [Music] [Applause] down french fries in Belgium are all you can eat if you empty this they give you another one I like this [Music] one of the ways to discover Brugge is with a horse carriage and whether you do this as a couple or as a family it looks like a lot of fun and another way to discover Brugge is by boat it’s called the Venice of the north for good reasons Brugge is surrounded by water with canals crisscrossing this magical medieval city [Music] in a city that’s famous for chocolate you have to try the chacho or hot chocolate we came to the old chocolate house to sit in the upstairs salon and warm up with some cocoa they bring you a bowl of warm milk and a little tray of chocolate treats so you can build your own hot chocolate [Music] it needs [Music] more at nighttime the Christmas Market gets just a little bit more magical you’ll find little gifts like these incense burners that look like little house or this ridiculously amazing cheese [Music] and of course there’s the mold wine and local beers to go with all the yummy street food like shrimp croads sea snails Racket noua and of course Belgian waffles [Music] this week we’re in Strasburg where it’s considered to be the capital of Christmas and it’s absolutely magical we’re going to try street food like d FL potato pancakes a weird looking hot dog waffles and pretzel beignet and we’ll have the best traditional shukru with what probably is the best restaurant in town Ona take get to Strasburg from Paris is super easy it’s a 2hour speed train ride from GES in Paris to the Strasburg Grand Station and from here you’re about a 15minute walk or a 5minute tram ride to the center of it all and this is totally doable as a day trip you can take the early train out of Paris and take the late train back to Paris but for us we’ll be staying overnight so we can get the full experience now the cost of a roundtrip ticket is about1 €150 each way but that really depends on availability and the time of the year now if you plan on going you better buy your ticket way in advance so you can secure the best rate we’ve used several systems to buy tickets and the one we prefer in Europe is train line we found the interface and user experience to be the easiest and most efficient for travel all around Europe and I’ve put a link in the description just check it out and see if it’s a good fit for you we just got to straussburg we’re starving and so we’re going to head to one of the gazillion Christmas markets that are here to find something to eat let’s go we might need to do some shopping yeah so that’s the tree by the way that’s the big tree that’s 90 ft do you feel like the German Vibe I totally feel the German Vibe you know it’s like from the time we got here it feels like a European city cuz it’s a little bit French a little bit German a little bit I don’t know I I mean I could even feel a little Danish or something here which makes no sense in the architecture and the language and the shops everything about it [Music] it’s the Frog Prince oh it smells good man it does smell good everything smells really good there’s smoked ham and and [Music] monster check that out I want to I want to rip it but I’m afraid things are going to fall everywhere so I’m just going to go for the [Music] bite that was worth the weight yeah it’s doughy but it doesn’t feel like it’s going to be a rock in my belly doughy it’s a light dough with the little bit of crispy cheese on the bottom some crem fresh some sauteed onion and lens oh yeah it’s good minut SPG fun I love you too do that’s a macaron and that is a macaroon that oh yeah we have to have that we need that they have something over here it’s not where we’re going to eat it but you never think about sauerkraut in France but they have sausages and sauerkraut it’s it’s a sh crud is the dish and they have some right over here check that out with different meats and usually potatoes and stuff but we’ll go eat that in a restaurant and sit down and do it right that thing looks like deliciousness on a crispy baguette oh yeah Che oh it’s ridiculous how light that is I would expect bread and cheese and meat to be heavy that is really light M oh is great okay so you got creem fresh you got bacon bits you got cheese and you got a crispy baguette this is an amazing street food thing grum is but it’s interesting it looks like potato pancakes that’s the potato pancake we definitely have to try that [Music] I have no idea what this is I think they call it a white sausage cuz sausages are a thing here and there’s a lot of different kinds and I put a little bit of mustard and ketchup to try it but I really just want to try what it’s like without definitely not a hot dog not what I would consider a sausage like you can see the texture of that it’s like the consistency of a hot dog all I know is I like it how do you eat this thing all good then it’s much better quality than the hot dog hot dogs in the US are M and and we got these bad boys so those are the potato pancakes so this is Monster a Manel underneath look at that that’s what I want every hash brown I ever touch to taste like that’s delicious so this is with monster it’s really good it’s kind of like a potato pancake with monster cheese it’s really delicious welcome to Strasburg baby in the morning to you you need a pipe no it’s not it howy mail [Music] so we’ve been here for about 2 hours in straussburg and I think we’ve already been through like four different Christmas markets cuz every time you turn a corner you find another one but like this magnificent Cathedral and the giant tree at clber square and check out this building right here look with the little lock T agonal Terrace and that and check out the roofs of these buildings over here a million and a half years old they’re crooked they’re all crooked on [Music] day it’s all the little cookie uh yeah you roll it out and then you cut your cookies oh the little cookie shape like this one has candy canes and bows and candles and stockings so here this is the house with the famous teddy bears right there right here look this to keep your onions and your garlic inside of the pot so they breathe and then you put your cheese inside of there I want [Music] some that’s cool Colleen you’re on a mission to find champagne I want to find champagne but I’m finding too many pretty things I want to see this one for tarot cards or poker cards s or little silly things they’re just I don’t know why I like boxes I like boxes and like look at these little peasant women over here aren’t they just cute they’re like made of vegetation so normally I avoid little alleys but this one looks exciting oh this is Del I thought we were here before but this one we were not in this one look at this behind you oh the piggies what I like about this is it’s small and it’s not crowded and the other one you’re shoulder to- shoulder with people yeah this one feels intimate so I know oysters and champagne to be a thing in Paris Christmas markets and so far here I’m seeing a lot of hot wine and a hot uh orange juice apple juice I’ve seen cider and beer we haven’t gone this way and I if there is champagne in this town I think it’s this way I see Crepes I see waffles I don’t think we’re going to see champagne I’m starting to lose yeah well it’s not the vibe of Strasburg you know what I mean so we were there earlier and we uh discovered the cathedral is gorgeous uh during the day um but at night with Del lighting is it’s absolutely magnificent and gorgeous it’s really a beautiful cathedral there’s one more Market just ahead right there this is it that’s the one where there’s going to be champagne right there there’s a couple of Booth all right this does not look promising mold wine they’re not into champagne should be a requirement for any Christmas Market to have champagne this is France after all well something I’ve learned is every town has their own personality of Christmas markets and every little Market within every town has its own Personality yeah now I’m taking you to have what is considered to be one of the best shook roots in stb it’s right there after the bridge it’s called and I heard that it’s one of the best sh in town so let’s go so what’s interesting yes if you’ve been in Paris and you just got used to reading a French menu this one doesn’t look like a menu that you read there I have in here it’s all French and German right it’s not French or German it’s like here’s to romantic getaways so we’re going to take one of those that is sourkraut and a potato but then look at that that is pork belly larden like that and then this one it’s another kind of a piece of pork with the juices at the bottom you know you’re going to eat your sausage with some mustards and this little baby right here that is the freshest horseradish you ever smelled in your life it smells like fire so the shuit is just very simple po peasant kind of food is it’s just sausages and and pork I like yeah take a little bit of sauerkraut with that and this one I’m going to put a little bit of mustard that’s very nice oh my God this things look marvelous so this is jamboo I going to love this oh look at this look at this oh it’s crispy oh I got to take a bite out of this my mouth is water anticipation oh yeah oh this is oh this is good I mean this is crunchy so it’s crispy skin with melting meat crispy it’s a ham Hawk cooked to a crisp the skin gives you that flavor and look at that that’s the skin so this is my wife officially stealing my food the meat is melting it’s falling apart it’s like crisp bacon on top of slow cooked meat cous to that yeah that’s ham that’s you ding I’m going to need a few days these are wild blueberries this is not like a pie with some blueberries and a lot of filling this whole pie is wild fresh blueberries so this is how you do it you take just a little bit of whipped cream yeah just look at the blueberries in there you never had any pie like that like French desserts it’s not too sweet you can taste the blueberry it’s not uh overdone with too many ingredients I’m sure it’s very simple the whipped cream is as fresh as can be an’s ham hog and my show fruit were amazing I would come back here just for the [Music] pie so we just took a totally lazy morning on a romantic getaway yes we did we did and we are starving so it’s time for us to go and find something to eat at the Christmas Market so uh why don’t we go this way over there okay let’s go Al bubbl and I told you when we’re here we would find Hansel and grle and that’s the Hansel and gredle store ah okay now I know I’m going to find some food here let’s go this way okay this is sausage cream monster which betel is like a noodle look at this thing and he puts that stuff on top just gonna squeeze it in we’re gonna find out what this is like so I got a white sausage with potatoes and a monster cream sauce right and that should be delicious surprisingly good the sausage has a little bit of nutmeg to it it’s light it’s a little bit soft and it’s potatoes and a creamy sauce with moner this is simple a Frank furter yes you you can really tell the German influence in uh in Strasburg like it’s it’s everywhere this is very satisfying I’m enjoying this a lot one of the thing about Strasburg is it’s kind of an island that’s surrounded by water and one of the things that they have here are a little boat Crews that are covered and heated and Colleen asked me about it so we’re going to go and see if we can go on a cruise right now um I read that it last about an hour so when we get to see Strasburg through the water and a comfort of the heated rooftop only wow so gorgeous look at that wow I mean I’m telling you you have Christmas markets everywhere everywhere you have a little space to put a Christmas Market there’s a Christmas [Music] Market what what kind of cookies do you have have time to bake cookies it’s in wood made in Austria and after you take like this to cut them and how is the the back of the stamp I’ll show you ah just like just like this so while we’re waiting to go on the boat ride they have this little market and another one on the other side where you can hang out you know when you come get your tickets and find all kinds of cool stuff I got some great little baking things for some gifts I got cookies we have all kinds of stuff we can get here but it’s just really Charming to walk along the Waterfront and have some Christmas Market see the boats see the swans and all the cute stuff and buildings across it’s just Charming a mini coug sounds like a good idea to me we’ll split it yeah we’ll split it yeah perfect so this is a cougle Hoff a mini cougle Hoff cuz they had some really big ones looks like a Brio Bread with raisins inside and then almonds on the top see the almonds on top the little raisins in there that’s perfect for breakfast by the way I had to switch hats cuz it started to rain and I don’t want to feel wet everywhere you yes which one you picked it’s nice and warm and it’s not wet this is [Music] good oh I didn’t realize we’re in a lock we’re going to go up we’re going up see the green Mark right there that’s how high the water is going to go went faster than I thought yeah it’s great 5 10 minutes and boom you had the talk and off we go I have you ever been in a lock before no it’s my purse it was a nice boat ride it was rainy so some of the view was obstructed I’d never been on a lock before so we went on a lock to rise the water up and then again to drop it back down it was a historic Cruise found out a bunch of really interesting things about this city in this area that makes me want to come back and spend more time and now we’re going to walk along the riverfront cuz there’s a really nice pathway that goes underneath the bridges all the way around and we’re headed towards peti France look at these weeping willows everywhere well that’s the restaurant where we had dinner last night we [Music] ate but look at this this is the lock where we came through oh yeah so that’s the big hotel right right behind you yep that’s the one but this is a Christmas Market another one part of the charm of this area is how European it is and I feel like it’s France but this is Bavarian it’s German it feels Swiss it feels a lot of things and like totally this street is handsel and GR there’s a charm I just don’t know how to describe [Music] yeah this is like thick melted chocolate in the bottom of the cup like I started stirring it and it’s like H what is that it is it’s liquid frothy yeah but that looks very promising W it’s like a chocolate a hot chocolate cappuccino I’m going with that it’s like whipped air on top like I wasn’t kidding I I made a joke it was like cappuccino hot chocolate but that’s like a whipped cappuccino hot chocolate that is excellent hot chocolate who knew I could get an excellent hot chocolate in a bar and I’ve been looking forward to having a beer in Alas and it’s my first one so cheers to you no hot chocolate for me yeah that’s a good beer I need know sausage and french fries no I don’t there’s a menu right there no I’m not doing that we’re having a dinner again tonight but this is really good oh wow oh that’s 24 month pum yes oh my God [Music] so tonight we’re having dinner at the tier Bon which is right around the corner from the really big cathed and this place is classic food from the region this is you know all the stuff that’s typical here this is a sparkling white wine from this region of alas so cheers to you just like champagne I can’t tell the difference it’s good and that is a poached egg in a wine sauce with some larden and croutons and yummy things let me take a little taste of that yeah a little mushroom larden I love this yeah I I had this in Leo I haven’t had it since and I’ve been dreaming about it wishing that I knew how to make it you understand very unusual but it’s very good I’m not sure exactly what kind of meat this is it’s really really light really nice flavor it’s very nice that is an enormous beer in front of you I do have an enormous beer cuz when you have a Shak you have I it nor beer sausage a little bit of mustard I love frank fter oh there’s something about a good Frankfurter that puts any hot dog to shame you wash it down right do that cup is as big as your head it is cheers oh yeah now I’m in Strasburg hey Colleen mhm what I want to have before we leave is a waffle and a pretzel beignet absolutely I’ve never seen a pretzel beignet anywhere in my life so can you take me to one of course I can’t look at all the options let’s go let’s go come on Al look at those chocolate covered pretzel like it’s a chocolate covered pretzel those are chocolate pretzels and those are beet pretzels is that what you want and those are waffles I don’t know I want one of everything I would have a I would enjoy a chocolate covered pretzel more than a v pretzel I’ve never seen one this is going to be [Music] yummy my turn look at this thing oh man Nutella is dripping and the yeah the whipped cream on top of it oh that’s hitting the spot in more ways than I’m sure they had Great Dessert in the restaurant but it was so worth waiting nothing be so waffle this thing right here is a pretzel beignet and I’m sure it’s just like a regular sugar donut and I know that a waffle with whipped cream and all of that stuff on it is a lot to eat alone but we don’t have to finish it cuz I wanted to try this one so here we go that’s kind of like getting a crispy creams donut what is it sugar on top mhm it’s like a sugar donut we got the chocolate covered pretzel it doesn’t taste anything like a pretzel it’s a lot more Airy a lot more light this is good I like that but to be honest the waffle is where it’s at for me

À quand une vidéo sur le sud-ouest de la France ?
You two are the best ❤️ You both are enjoying life to the fullest, loving each other and sharing it all with us. Merci ❤
Awesome ❤
Thanks! Time stamps would be very helpful.
Your videos have been so helpful in helping me plan our first trip to France.
It was so much fun to meet you both personally in Montmartre this morning! Thank you for all you do! It is a joy to watch your channel! Mark & Michele from Phoenix, AZ
Love your channel but are you not worried about all the food you eat
Nice 👍😀
The hotel Saint-Pierre had iffy reviews. Musty rooms, noisy streets, shower issues. Would you recommend this hotel after staying there? Merci!
The moment you realize this is a 4 hour video! 🎉🥳🎉
Don't think I've ever watched a 4 hour video. Truly a wonderful experience seeing these amazing places. Cried with you at the American Cemetery, laughed at how many times Antoine said "sh*t" in the mud and enjoyed seeing 2 people so in love just as they were in 1999. ❤
Alain, how in all that’s holy did you manage to skip the entire Arsene Lupin connection to Normandy and L’Aiguille crease by Maurice Leblanc? 😮 And while you are at it, correct the typo for the Bordeaux accommodation: JardIn public, not Jardon, pretty please!
I like the shirts Antoine wears. Maybe you guys should do a video about your fashion.
Napoleon in the 1920's?
What month did you do your day trip in this video to Honfleur? Oh my stars…Dupont Calvados is the best! We love your channel thank you for all the wonderful videos, hoping one day to do a food tour with Vincent in Paris
You guys are having so much fun and I’m also having a great time watching Thank you love France
On Chagall's tomb, there were lots of stones, which is a Jewish tradition whereby the act of placing visitation stones is significant in Jewish bereavement practices. Small stones are placed by people who visit Jewish graves in an act of remembrance or respect for the deceased.
You guys are awesome and how wonderful to watch you grow..do you have any suggestionsfor accommodationa4ound the Strasbourg/colmar area..merci🎉…
Id really like to see you explore some of the great bookstores in Paris, and especially the English language ones.
You guys seem like the happiest, most well-matched couple. It's heartening to see
Really nice video. Great info. Thanks and take care.
Please can you break this into smaller videos?
I’m watching this on D-Day 2024. Eleven years ago I visited Normandy Beaches with 2 of my sisters. But the U.S. government was in one of its annoying shutdowns, so we were unable to see the American Cemetery. Thank you for filming this and sharing it, as well as your very honest emotional reactions. I’m sharing those as I watch.
So good!!! I will be there in September and cannot wait! This is giving my hubs and I so many great suggestions for our two weeks driving around France! This is amazing! I am a low-carb, no-sugar vegetarian (I beat Type 2 diabetes with my lifestyle change!) and am very anxious that it will be hard to find meals I can eat. The research is really disappointing me. I hope I can maintain my health journey while on vacation. 🤪
Good morning! I watched all about your pickpockets guide so I am ready for my day trip in Paris. Thank you very much for your videos and your time reading this! ❤❤❤
My father is buried there. He died a hero, earning a Silver Star. I so wish I'd been able to know him!
Hi I stumbled on your account and I am obsessed with you guys I have so many things book marked for future travel visits!!. We are from the US and my husband and I will be traveling to London on June 19th for a wedding. We will have 3 days to ourselves and would like to make the most of London. Are there any tips you could share or AirBnb’s you could suggest?
The hotels I have found are between $500- $600 a night! Hopefully look forward to hearing from you!! 😊
Wonderful reminisces. Each location has its special charm
You are charming and fun couple. My French born wife and I get a kick out of your videos!
