the day after the crash that shook the doof penelon no stage winner and only seven of the 22 teams now with a full arsenal of riders as they set off for KY delvar Remco Evol with dual purpose on stage six protect the yellow Jersey and test how his body reacts I have a small lead on on Primos and a more comfortable lead on on the others so I’m going to try to defend it um I think it’s uh pretty easy stage with a with a hard final climb so uh yeah I think um the days that are coming tomorrow and the day after tomorrow are going to be more hard uh in general but I think it’s uh already a first big test to see how uh how my uh shape and body is uh to go half an hour all out evole leads roog glitch by 33 seconds with mat Jorgenson a further 31 a drift of course the American and Vima Lisa by counting the cost of Steven kusick and Dylan vanar crashing out I just have seen the last months how hard they’ve worked to get skinny to get fit and and then yeah uh just lose it all in a second like that is is um it’s just H it’s really disappointing but yeah we’ll fight on the ones that are here in in their uh in their memory let’s say or yeah just for them and then um I hope that they can get home and get recovered and and yeah find some new objectives to focus on French Riders have yet to shine different ways of approaching the task at hand especially after yesterday’s crash [Music] the stage starts from o and heads for the E and savvo regions a relatively flat route with two fantastic climbs first the co de graner a regular in the doof in recent years even if not on the tour def F since 2012 and then the Ki dalva an altitude of, 1400 M after 11 km and more than 8% of climbing a relatively easy day until it suddenly isn’t well the easy nature of the opening half of this 173 km stage saw six fire off the front early doors Roman greguar the best place Rider nearly 3 minutes from Remco evole tibo garak was in to aiming to protect the king of the mountain Jersey of our teammate matis ler stage two winner mes cor neelon was also at the front with a goal in mind the D hunting the green jersey of RIT with an intermediate Sprint at lelle with The Gap ballooning to nearly 6 minutes sudell quickstep took charge as Roman guua was now the virtual leader of the doofy corneel would take the 10 points of the intermediate Sprint to be the virtual green jersey although still 15 points available at the summit finish leader Trek had M Pon leading the charge in service of Julio Tone’s stage Ambitions the Gap gently slipping gak was the first over the top of the cier then on The Descent the ARA Rider and Mason Holman ran into trouble oh crash into the ditch on the left hand side G back on to bridge the gap brilliantly to the Breakaway holyman failed to do likewise the Britain accepting his fate back in the pelaton the league group sent the wrong way losing around 30 seconds M pson and Ryan Gibbon’s work was done time for others to dig deep inos and UAE hit the front with the gradient about to really kick hard greguar the first to make a move from the break taking only cor neelon with him already Riders blowing up Vima seeing sep cous distance too much for T gagan Hart while up front gregar kicked to drop the welshman’s leader track teammate the Frenchman already the combative of the day could he be in for a stunning Breakaway win yet with 5K to go especially hard with inos making a move and the attacks start now the first attack on the climb it comes from Theus La the BL soon followed by borans grova Alexander vlasov keeping tabs with every revolution of the wheels Riders dropping matang godu and Bago find themselves a drift de sasov would soon have company jonei hitting the accelerator stalked successfully by RIT Jenson Rodriguez and Derek G making it a small Elite Group of Seven yet formed without Remco evole mik Lander trying to pace for the Belgian 30 seconds behind for master plan coming to fruition as vazov began to Le Gro glitch and only the Italian shakuni could follow Remco did make a last ditch effort to stay in yellow but once vlasov launched RIT the sloven in total control rock glitch attacks hard Chone tries to respond but there is is no response rogl fires away the power of Primos is there for all to see swishing his way around the last turn this Rider has been on the deck twice in three days but now he’s not on the deck he’s on the top step of the podium RIT wins the stage with the two to France it’s height a sign of strength for rogich and Bora a new collaboration that’s been injury interrupted but 2 months after his first roget finally a second win of the season and even better Victory putting him into doany [Music] yellow finally I mean I win R uh was a while uh and the whole team H I mean yes the the GU showed the commitment uh from from the very start today again they they showed a great performance so yes big thanks and uh we can enjoy it today RIT with a show of strength to win the stage his first in the doofan in four years Chone second while Bora celebrated a 1-3 flof third 2022 Champion RIT now dreaming of a second doy Crown early days but a 52 second swing gives a 34-year-old slender advantage over REM and further cheers as rogich doubled up with the points Jersey Chone will ride in Green tomorrow La took it easy as his team helped protect his King of the mountain status though under threat from rogich and tonei especially with two mountainous stages to come rco only left with the white jersey after failing to respond to bora’s play Jorgenson his closest rival the Alpine Trilogy will continue on Saturday with act two one that packs an even bigger punch with an altitude gain of 4,000 M over 145 km
