stage one of the Lloyd’s Bank tour of Britain women taking the Riders from Welsh pool heading for the Post 42.4 km stage plenty of climbing it’s an attritional stage to start things off 2276 M of elevation the world champion the big favorite for the race overall and will be eyeing some stages she comes with a strong team at SD Works Pro time including Lorena VIIs 14 UCI professional teams one national team in Great Britain 89 Riders on the start line they headed through kilom Z it was all together with several Riders trying to force a breakaway Josie Talbert on the front for cofidis in that red and white jersey on the right hand side it’s the Great Britain national team with several Riders up towards the front as was Amber Pate of liula Jacob M into the base of the first categorized climb of the day the only categorized one climb a clan gug 6.1 km long with an average gradient of 5.3% the pace was set by S Michelle mavic O 93 trying to look after maram bunell the sensation from France the 19-year-old but she was challenged by Heidi France in the lime green and purple jersey from Life plus Wahoo it was France who took the 10 points ahead of Van pacon Baker Dagan Buell miot ston maera sist Perkins and Barker all get themselves and open their account in the queen of the mountains competition Lucy Harris was Brave and tenacious the rider who has just signed for pro noctus 200° got herself into a solo Breakaway she had just over 30 seconds to the Chasers she had great support at the bottom of the climb but she was eyeing up some points in the queen of the mountains competition behind the eight Riders made the right hand turn into the base of the climb tin cat the 3.3 km climb averaging 3.4% a category 2 climb only the first six Riders would get points on this queen of the mountain Majerus was there as was Christa doel Hickok but the chases were c as was the Lone leader and a new group of nine Riders started to go clear pushed on by Lizzie Dian the Olympic silver medalist with Anna Henderson in the wheel the world champion was there in the rainbow jersey as was FIFA Georgie fighting to stay in the wheels was vikto Gilman in the yellow and orange Jersey lazia PSTA there as was alen yansen but the points went into the pocket of Lizzie Dian she takes the six ahead of Henderson lot keki taking four with Majerus pansta and Georgie sweeping up the rest of the points in that second category Queen of the mountain the nine Riders were going clear and the pelaton was all strung out in one long line into the one and only intermediate Sprint of the day in doog 20 km to go not only points available for the the red jersey in the Sprints competition but crucially time bonus seconds with 32 and 1 seconds available for the first three Riders to cross the line it was all very Coy in the group as they knew they had to try and take bonus seconds particularly for the overall General classification as dnan tried to search for Anna Henderson it was L kapaki the world champion in the rainbow jersey on the left hand side who decided she wanted to make her Mark and she opened up the Sprint first but right in the wheel it was Letizia pansta who came through on the right hand side it was a close challenge but PSTA the Italian came with speed and power taking the Four Points in the three bonus seconds ahead of keki and Fifer Georgie the nine Riders were still clear with over three and a half minutes of an advantage over the solo Chaser in Lucy Lee and The Paton and it was all getting set for the finish in candido with Christine maseras to look berish champion on the front taking the nine Riders through the double right hand turn thinking about the finish with a roaring Tailwind Anna Henderson was sitting in second wheel almost waiting to pounce to try and Counterattack Roby Roseman Ganon was thinking about the tisia pster as they made the slight left hand turn onto the prenard in candido and it was looking like a ferocious finish but lot of keki has a Gap open up in front of her she starts to talk into into the race radio and immediately it’s a teammate Christine maseras who swings to the right knowing the world champion might be in trouble Henderson thinks about counterattacking but looking around and not seeing Lizzie D and she decides to wait as everybody starts to look around thinking about the Finish but the big fight came for the wheel of the world champion keki as pster and Di and Jewel it out behind Ruby Roseman gon setting the pace with 500 M to go life for Georgie sitting in second wheel as they all take a look around waiting for the moment to pounce with this roaring Tailwind into the prominade in cland now maiera starts to lead her teammate alapaki and through 300 meters to go yanson tries to come through on the barrier but it’s all but too late because here goes keki off the wheel of a teammate Majerus keki the Will Champion is looking for the finish line pster is coming through on the right hand side a throw for the line a photo finish and it’s close right on the line Ki thinks she might have have it but it’s PSTA who believes as she celebrates she thinks she’s won stage one into clno L keki wins stage one from LA tizia pansta with f for Georgie in third Lizzie Dagan comes in fourth ahead of alen Jansen Anna Henderson vikto Gilman Christine maseras Ruby Roseman Ganon and Lucy Lee the birthday girl gets 10th L keki is the winner of stage one of the 2024 Lloyd’s Bank tour of Britain women the Belgian world champion is also the leader of the Sprints competition Lizzie Dagan claims the queen of the mountains blue jersey and the first Rider to pull on the race leaders green jersey is lter kapaki confirmation of the general classification after stage one kapaki has a 3C advantage over Letizia ponosa fif for Georgie is third at 7 seconds then there a group of riders at 12 seconds led by Lizzie Dagan Lucy Lee is at 4 minutes and 1 second
