Southend-on-Sea Bike Ride and Rat infested cafe.

I had a nice bike ride from Thorpe Bay to Westcliff-on-Sea via Southend Seafront, ate lunch at a Rat infested Cafe, then caught a Train to get back to the van before the rain started. all right I know what you’re thinking I don’t remember tuning into a fashion show as you can tell I’m out on the bike not only am I out on the bike I’m uh I’m down near uh shes thought Bayway at the moment and I’m on my way cycling the south end I’ve just dropped my taxi off for a load of repairs and uh which is 20 mil away from where I live so just thought I’d um take the old bike with me and uh cycle back but I’m not going to do the whole 20 miles that’s for sure cuz the roads between between here and my house well not my house but me bang are uh treacherous to say the least so I’m going to go cycle into South End and then probably jump on a train back to near nearest where the van is and then cycle back to the van la [Music] a [Music] [Music] la [Music] [Music] so that old Victorian building over there that’s called the kurel and uh that was big back in the day when I was a kid I used to come down there there was a fair ground in there and before my time I used to have a ballroom with dancing and uh amusements and stuff like that people used to come from miles to come down and visit the cural see the train that’s going along the uh the pier like I say it’s mile and a quarter long and you can get a train on there a little train each way or you can walk along there a lot of people get a train a train back very nice I do like sat I grew up around here so uh I do like okay it’s turning out to be a nice day out the weather’s a little bit overcast in places temperature’s perfect I think it’s about 19° perfect for riding the bike and uh it’s not too busy down here very nice go I’m [Music] the old Pier entrance South and Railway they’ve got a bing alley of stuff going on entrance to or one of the entrances to ADV Venture Island just coming up on the right back here was the uh arches cafes quite a few cafes into the Arches here we go Adventure Island not much Happ in at the moment know they’re open a big wheel it that is a big wheel just a oh that’s a lift over there that goes up to the High Street level South in High Street so not sure I’ll get the bike in here so I might have to ride up here Hill which is really Ste I’m not sure if that is a walkway on the left I’ll have to investigate it cuz I need to get up to the High Street in a minute ride along the SE front and might even stop at the famous free shells Cafe which is just up here on the left you just about see it now do a nice bit of grubbing there nice cup tea I think that go down a treat right now me I think the uh three shs is closed would you believe sh Cafe mean ni should it’s in season it should be you believe it that’s the free shs careful this is new Heritage fishing CHP shop look out we got along here didn’t even know you could go down here um he stockville carart didn’t even know you can go down here like right around the back of uh vent St car we go to the end you can go to the end you can’t get through there so might find a bit of fishing chips sit the cycle line quite a few cycle lines uh night now it’s very good you [Music] don’t know if you can see it up in the distance it’s uh famous West Casino gentleman Genting Casino It’s called now well this this cat a little bit busy a little bit too [Music] busy now stop to a really C along the sea front of Westcliff it’s got to be the worst one that I could have stopped at I’ve just ordered a burger and chips and a cup of tea wait for it 14 quid now I know I’ve been ripped off cuz I’ve looked at the price list just now on the outside 14 for burger and chicks it better happy days so look hey can’t be B there he is dirty great big R underneath the bleeding cat calf where I’m just about to eat me [Music] dinner [Music] unbelievable he’s just come from underneath this CF of it [Music] ly Hill yeah you run away this is the CF the beach H it’s called in West Griff and I’m just about to eat me dinner and I’m thinking should I eat it but I’m thinking well the chips and the burger and all that is all going to be frozen is it and it don’t look like there’s any nibbles taken out the band so I I’ll crack on right so I’m just about to leave this uh Rat infested Cafe down West with seafront called the beach hut opposite uh barle to Lo honestly after sitting there outside I was all looking forward to it nice burger and chips blah blah I got ripped off 14 quid but there you go and I saw him go to great big rats and it’s like no [Applause] chance so I thought now there’s no way I’m uh I’m eating that so wa a little bit of it and then you know I couldn’t eat anymore I’m literally sitting here looking at the rats running around in front of me coming out from underneath the C fo now I can’t be doing that what I’m doing now I’m heading to uh West station the nicest station on the C see I know that but yeah it’s just coming over a little bit iffy now I think it’s going to rain so I’m going to jump on the train go the rest of the way when I get off the a rine and I’ve got a I don’t know what it is 2 or 3 Mile ride back to the van so uh I’m hoping that it’s not pouring down the rain back there and I’m hoping that I’ll uh I’ll have enough time [Music] we are now approaching Leon C yeah just in the distance here you can see Headley Castle I got a bike train around it as well um used it for the Olympic uh training up there so that was my little Adventure from yesterday I had to take me taxi up to wering 20 mil away to get fixed it’s still there now um it’s going to be there probably till next week now it’s got a lot of work being done on it and uh decided to have a little ride out on me bike so hope you enjoyed it a few little bits of Interest I’d like to make a proper video about South End really like the SE front side Cu uh yeah it’s a nice place nice place to visit it was a nice little trip nice little bike ride I wanted to go a lot further but the weather was looking really iffy but I wanted to go um probably about another five six miles to another station along the way um but yeah it’s just looking so heavy but that that calf as well oh my God that calf I’ll tell you what if the Health Inspectors are watching the beach hot CF at Westcliff seafront you want to get yourselves
