MTB Roadtrip: Dyfi Bike Park

Road Trip from Belfast to Dyfi Bike Park and then to Dirtfarm. We started by taking the evening ferry from Dublin to Holyhead and then stayed at a class Airbnb in Penal, which was a church and only 9 minutes from Dyfi Bike Park. The experience was incredible!

Dyfi Bike Park is a thrilling and challenging destination for Downhill Mountain Biking enthusiasts. With so much to explore, two days were barely enough to get a taste of what the park has to offer. My goal was to hit the famous Oakley drop and try some jumps on that line that i knew i was capable of. Although I only managed the smaller drop this time, which is still quite intimidating—its taller than me, so it was still an exhilarating experience and im stoked to get a bit of that line done.

The sheer scale of Dyfi Bike Park and its impressive features make it a must-visit for anyone passionate about downhill mountain biking. The park significantly improved my riding skills, and I can’t wait to return. Next time, I’ll be ready to tackle the bigger drops with more confidence, as I didn’t fully trust my bike’s durability this time around so maybe need a downhill bike 😉 !

Our trip was fantastic, and I highly recommend traveling to Dyfi Bike Park. It’s a paradise for downhill mountain bikers, offering crazy trails and obstacles that push your limits. I only wish it were closer to home so we could practice on the big jumps more frequently. This trip has left us all eager for another visit and maybe even investing in a dedicated downhill bike before we go back!
