First, a brief introduction about Montpellier. Montpellier is located in southern France. From Paris, 3.5 hours by train and 1.5 hours by plane This time, traveling from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Montpellier Night view of Paris from the plane The Eiffel Tower can also be seen. Arrived in Montpellier I missed the last shuttle bus to the city center, so I will take the tram instead. The nearest tram stop from the airport is about a 30-minute walk. 15-minute tram ride to the Montpellier station in the city center Taking the train would have been more convenient from the airport, but I am glad I flew because I got to see the beautiful night view of Paris. Arrived at Montpellier Saint-Roch Station Heading to a hotel that is a one-minute walk from the station. Going to bed tonight in preparation for tomorrow’s visit to Arles. DAY 2 Today, I am going on a day trip to Arles, the famous place associated with Van Gogh. I have also made a video about my sightseeing in Arles, so if you are interested, please check it out. After finishing my sightseeing in Arles, I have returned to Montpellier. Staying at the ibis HOTEL for the rest of my stay Going out for dinner Came to a craft beer pub and brewery near the station My first drink is a COLD IPA called LESS THAN ZERO. I ordered a NEIPA called THE SLOW CLUB for my second drink. THE SLOW CLUB (NEIPA) Also ordered a hamburger Great time with beer and a burger Heading to the second place Came to another pub in the old town Ordered a Session IPA called B.O B.O (Session IPA) A symbolic place in the heart of Montpellier’s city center. DAY 3 Breakfast at the hotel I am here in Montpellier for a workshop on my doctoral research project. I will be sightseeing during the workshop’s free time. Because today’s workshop starts in the afternoon, I will explore the city until then. I am back at Place de la Comédie, where I visited last night. Came to a cafe near the square Ordered a coffee and a blueberry jam muffin Lively atmosphere because of the Montpellier Marathon In the afternoon, I will explore the city with colleagues from the same project. This is the end of the video for the day. DAY 4 Going for a morning walk Esplanade de l’Europe A bicycle on the wall of the building I have a workshop all day today. Came back to Place de la Comédie again for an evening stroll Opéra Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie Musée Fabre I did not take any videos on the fifth day, and I am taking a stroll in the old town on the morning of the last day. Préfecture de l’Hérault The prefecture of the department of Hérault is here in Montpellier. Arc de Triomphe Built in the 17th century to honor Sun King Louis XIV Passed through the Triumphal Arch and arrived at Peyrou Park. Equestrian statue of Louis XIV Temple-like water reservoir The Saint-Clément Aqueduct, modeled after ancient Roman aqueducts. Water carried through the aqueduct was stored in the water reservoir. A bicycle on the wall again near the aqueduct Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Montpellier It features Gothic architecture, with a porch supported by two large columns. Église Saint-Roch de Montpellier Going to the last lecture of the workshop The workshop was over and I am heading to the airport. Unable to find the shuttle bus stop to the airport, I took the tram again. First, I am going to Charles de Gaulle International Airport. From Paris, I am taking a train back to Belgium. Boarding a train to Brussels Montpellier was a student city, with more than a quarter of its population being students, making it lively both day and night. I also went sightseeing in nearby Arles and fully enjoyed the South of France. Thank you very much for watching 😊
