I decided to get the tape measure out & find out if the new PRO line at Twisted Oaks bike park is the biggest jump line in the UK…

The progression in MTB is crazy and with that jumps are getting way bigger. In the UK alone you have Vanta line at bike park Wales, Full Moto at Dirt Farm, DYFI BikePark and Revolution bike park all offering huge jumps but today it was my mission to discover just how big is the new line at Twisted Oaks.

I am using my Haibike LYKE 11 fully custom electric mountian bike.

I hope that you enjoy the video! 🙂

here we go then full top to bottom full monty nice the level in Mountain bikeing over the last few years has progressed at an insane rate and not just at a professional level but also locally tricks and jumps are getting crazy which is why today we find ourselves at Twisted Oaks bike park and we’re going to be taking a closer look at the Prine which I think has the biggest jump in the UK I’ve been riding for what feels like forever but in real ity is probably getting close to 20 years now and if you go back 15 years ago there was very few bike parks and the jumps at them bike parks certainly were nothing compared to the size of this the ramp’s an absolute Whopper it is so big and what is even more impressive than the size of the ramp is the fact that when you come here on a weekend there’s so many riders especially Young Riders just hitting this ramp with so much confidence having lines like this local and accessible to everyone where you can buy a day ticket and come and ride these ramps is making the level so insane alongside bike potw is Vine Duffy bike park wind Hills Pro Line rev’s bike park and the dirt farm this line here at Twisted is well up there in terms of size and scale but one thing that hasn’t changed over the years is when someone does a jump they tend to add 15 to 20 feet onto the size when they tell you about it which is why today I’ve come here with my brand new tape measure and we’re going to find out EXA exactly how tall and long these jumps are we’re going to see if speculation is actually right and I’m going to give my best guess as to how big this kick really is I think I know I’m going to say 14 ft I think I’m going to change my answer I think 14t is too big I’m going to go 12T I’m going to go with 14 ft because the ramp feels absolutely enormous to ride and whoever is wrong buys the other one coffee and cake on the way home before we hit this line we’re going to have a warm up on some of the other features here at the bike park so let’s head over to the dirt jums right we come over then to the dirt jumps for a little warm up It’s always important to just before you hit big features make sure you’re warmed up properly got everything flowing feel good on your bike no matter what level you are and actually that little set of jumps is so addictive to ride let’s drop a tune bit of slow motion while I get used to the bike today and then we’ll make our way up onto the pr line which is over there I can for love me [Music] out I can’t through [Music] [Applause] [Music] those dirt jumps are so much fun that last transfer we hit is actually quite big and there’s no limit to how big you can go because the landing is nice and wide to complete the warm up I’ve come over to the mulch jump where we’re going to hit and Eide back you yeah right we’re going to make our way up there now and go measure this Prine and show you how big it is I’m all warmed up and we’ve made our way over to the Pro Line This is full Monte and I’m excited to see how big some of these features actually are it starts with quite a big drop so let’s go and take a look so you come through the archway you’ve got a little pump to help you get your speed before you get to this drop off let’s see how big it is well I’m going to go down then KJ so let me take that tape right should we see how high it is first like that it’s about 8T that is first feature then it’s 8T down 12T out so quite sizable not as big as the features at the bottom I think it’s a really good squirrel catcher so if you can’t ride this or you’re not comfortable then you won’t get further down the line which is kind of saving you from yourself in that case I’m going to ride this drop then show you the top section because these first jumps aren’t massive it’s after the onof that it gets pretty gnarly so you need one pedal little pump there that kicks you off that drop and then this hip I always jump it wide and then you got like a transfer there before stepping up and then off the drop and this is where it gets serious but we’re going to stop because we need to measure this jump this is the first big one after this you’re just gaining speed the whole way down I pull it tight and go down to the ground which like where your foot is so 9 foots there I’m going to say it’s 9’8 9’8 then this take off so let’s see how big the Gap is I’m going to go back wheel probably there that’s the sweet spot so that is 29 foot 29 ft oh my God next Jump Then is the racer and I think this one is actually bigger look where car is that’s miles away so let’s see this Jump Then from takeoff to The Sweet Spot is 30 33 ft 32 if you cased it 29 if you had a disaster I reckon that you’re quite easily Landing 35 ft off of that though which is quite big and that is definitely going to give you speed for the moon Booter we’re back at the top then we’re going to ride those two we was just measuring then stop at the kicker because that is the information we all want to find out how big that monster ramp is so we’ve already in this bit super good fun nice and flurry and then you actually have to break coming down here otherwise you over clear it nice hey you over clear it nice hey you’re Hur then you’re hurtling down into that Beast let’s find out how big that one is right at the moment of truth now we decide who is the winner and who guessed how tall this ramp is correctly so let’s measure it I’ve got to make it up there now easier said than done do you want to know of course we want to know how big is it 12 12 12T so you win I won yay I get the coffee and cake damn let’s find out how long the Gap is then right there we go then Cara won the BET and how big the kicker was we’re on the way home and uh car’s got a coffee she didn’t want cak we’re about to go home have dinner which I’m informed is sausages you might have to like throw the tape up there and then grab it what the hell was that I can’t even get up here it’s so steep the GoPro definitely doesn’t show how you struggling wheel so come on okay oh help me help me I’m slipping Tom you I’m up oh no that tape is so far in hey oh my God you can see how small he is hey wow that was more graceful than my um my one right I’m going to say 21 ft to The Sweet Spot 20 is like almost the case 21 will get you nicely into the landing there we go then we now know the sizes of the line we’ve got a 12T kicker into a 20 21 ft gap which is pretty insane so it’s time to hit this thing now let’s get on the bike and give send here we go then full top to bottom full monty now we know the size is let’s give it a go it’s actually so good to have this line because like I’ve been saying throughout the video for progression it’s just awesome nice a yo nice a there we go then top to bottom run and I’m going to go back up cuz I want to do it again and this time we’re going to hit a flip on the big Booter at the end yes woo there we go yeah there we go yeah that’s sick that’s quite a big scary flip there but I’m stoked with that it’s working good feeling good there was a little case but it’s actually a jump that’s so easy to go far on today and when you’re flipping that can actually be really bad so you’re better off just Landing very at the top like I did than you are to do like one and a half down on your back it can be difficult to judge it at times there we go then that is full monty conquered I just want to do a big shout out to the gate 23 guys and the trail Builders here at Twisted Oaks because to build a line like this is unbelievable imagine how many wheelbarrows of dirt is in that big Landing behind me it’s actually mind blown so shout out to you guys because not just this line but the whole bike park is absolutely incredible I want to hear from you guys is this the biggest jump line or the biggest kicker in the UK If It Isn’t let me know what is because I’d like to go there check it out have a ride see if we can do any tricks on it I’ve really enjoyed myself today I hope you guys have two give us a thumbs up leave your comments down below and I will see you guys in the next video I’m like an addict I got to have it I ain’t even playing got a really bad habit If It Moves got to grab it fuse like a magnet lose won’t have it till I’m doomed in a casket I ain’t playing got a weird mind if you work eight hours I’mma work nine if the shoot tastes sour you should taste mine I’mma stay in power for a long time get up now I ain’t a

    1. Yet another sick video Tom. You're so right man, you gotta appreciate how much hard work the trail builders have put into these jump lines. Been riding 33 years now, when i was a kid it was all just kicking off but there was nowhere to ride. We have upton canyons as our back yard which we sculpted. Amazing that there is a huge choice of bike parks and sick locations available to us now its gotten huge and everyone wants an mtb 😊. Whats great is we can be any skill level and ultimately we just love what we do and the sweet thing is if you keep working at it you just get better.
Anyways look forward to the next video 🤟

    2. Tom- come have a look at Okeford hill bike park here in Dorset sometime- new Jump line called the rocket and plenty of other flow, jump and downhill lines (steep)

    3. Tom you need to check out MV bike park when you are next in Wales. Some big jumps there. Only about 20 minutes away from Bike Park wales

    4. Can we get a full bike check soon? Like in depth on all the bikes? Weight, parts, things you like, things you wanna change, etc etc. Within your ability to not piss off sponsors of course lol

    5. That was pretty awesome Tom. Loved the transfers over the dirt jumps to no foot can at the end. Could you get added style points if you turned it into a side heel clicker? Seeing Kara running the jumps brought back memories of you two in your early filming days together with the pitter patter of her running along filming your street riding. She earned her coffee. Great video.
