Ostend is on the Belgian sea coast. It is only 21 km from Bruges. Highly recommend to visit if you visit Belgium! The long concrete boardwalk wraps around Ostend starting from the main train station on a huge stretch of the Ostend beach. Miles of beachfront cafés and family fun.
You can rent a bike for 6 EUROS in multiple stores on Ostend beachfront (many stores south of giant orange sculptures). I forget if it’s for 30 min or 1 hr.
Ride easily from Ostend south to Middlekerke or north to Bredene on bike and back to Ostend – within an hour fast biking whole time.
It is more straightforward to go south to Middlekerke which is entirely along beachfront.
The ride to Bredene is more interesting though and there is a beachfront way or one along car drive road between Ostend and Bredene. See my other videos for guidance.
