I meet Nathan the postman on my travels around North Devon. What a gentleman. It was like meeting an old friend.
welcome to episode seven of every Green Lane in Devon so I met from the post on this trip we were like two kids with BMXs was like oh nice bike mate yeah nice bike where did you ride I can do a double back flip oh yeah me too mate let’s fight together yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah so this first Lane is near lob and it’s a great way to start the day I’m not sure what these were listening post they were marked M mod and secret so I missed that on the way there are a lot of signs like this on the lane saying ignore your sat now here’s another of those signs it’s saying inore your satn they really had me guessing I even stopped to uh think nah can’t be but I’m the lane Hunter I better press on oh no I’ve gone the wrong way or is this another one of them Lanes consigned to history [Music] tail between my legs I headed down hang on a minute nah my nav’s off here it is not one of my favorite sort of lanes well groomed looks a lot like a walk track but you get a bit further on and the only thing keeping this Lane alive is those Mur bikes beautiful views in this area a sign of things to come like a lot of the places around here hell to get into hell to get out of unless you want a motorbike apparently this is how you park in North Devon so common on every single Lane rev views make up for it though right this is the lane I’ve come all the way to do there’s a good sign back there and suitable for Motors and the Walkers don’t seem too F sum here either another good sign [Music] oh the dreaded footpath sign right I’ve made this decision it’s 99% legal and uh just in case it’s not I’ve engaged by cloaking device ah this is what it’s all about look at them views Over the Sea the cloak of device seems to be working as the Walkers ignored me life better when you take a chance or what a glorious place to ride I keep telling myself it’s been a road for 200 years I’m still not 100% sure I’m supposed to be here I’m dying to get off the lane by now all the signs look right to me it’s got to be Highway here we go salvation there’s the gate so I’ve noticed about these National Trust owned places is they don’t like supporting the byways but they’re quite happy to sign the foot paaths it’s very similar Down K on the trans Euro Trail they do exactly the same there we go that sign specially for us very old sign your video naan really good to meet you for the first time what’s your name Sam Sam who’s to meet you cool you where you going where am I going I’m doing um north of baral all the lake I’ve got a channel called every Green Lane in Devon is what you trying to do yeah every Green Lane in Deon there’s about a thousand there’s a lot in Deon there is a hell of a lot what are you what you do da de so you’re going to do bog L what I turn this camera off last whether this one the L I’ve done is legal or not right to be honest I don’t generally get any I don’t I don’t use I went as early as I could on your own right AR I’ve been down it was if you know it’s legal it’s legal see some of your customers on yeah first time so just this is I mean there’s not many easy Lanes that’s this Lane can only be described as a Motorway it’s like when you watch those like Canadian or USA videos with people on their Adventure bikes it’s just vast so wide naate the postman and the boys here’s my last laner today what an way to finish you can’t see here but this is really Steep and uh yeah got quite techic on it’s really heavy grown which didn’t help with a few Landover uping up and down it nice little spot on Castle Lane so I’m going to sit and a bit of a view well there you go that’s the end of episode 7 thanks for watching [Music]
