boner we’re in France we’re in this little town sleepy town of vichi off that way is the lair River over that way it’s the big Alps and down the road it’s a bike race it’s the 8 day Criterium D Doan and after this race well it’s only 3 weeks to go from there until June 29th and the tur to France and participating here well it’s Americans Matel Jorgenson Seb cus and the big GC Stars Remco Evol Primos RIT given the proximity to the tur of France you can imagine the criteria to doofan a it’s a big [Music] one so we’re getting the Riders one by one they’re lining up and starting stage one which could be a Sprint stage we’ll find out later and you’ll know eight stages in this race we got a 34.4 km time trial the final three stages up there in the Alps are Summit finish stages the Criterium to do 2024 is truly a serious test as we’re nearing the tur of France and we’re hearing it from the Riders is this a fair test for the tur of France is seems like a proper vintage with the kilom 34 km time trial in the three Summit finishes that end the race no exactly this year is a quite a hard race like you said we got a long time TR uh a lot of climbing meters and a really strong start list of riders so I think a lot of people are coming here to really do a bit of a test run for the tour looking forward to the second half I think more than the first half um we’ve got a few guys that’ll be hunting for the first few stages but uh for myself I’m just trying to get around safely first few days and um yeah look forward to the mountains yeah sure I think the do this year is really hard uh a lot of M to finish a lot of climbing also here in the area the roads are quite technical a lot of small Road change up Direction so we always have to be really Vigilant and stay stay focused it’s a ridiculous race but at the same time this time of year you do this or swiss and swiss doesn’t look any easier so uh yeah I think it’s just some hard racing and yeah looking forward to getting into it and see see how the body does it’s an important race for sure I just have to see how how it goes I haven’t raced in a while but uh yeah I I think I feel pretty good um of course there’s there’s a long time trial but there’s also some hard Mountain stages so just see how it goes each day and uh yeah looking forward to the weekend in particular it’s difficult to Parise and yeah it’ll be also difficult here but I think uh it’s a nice course especially the weekend will be a big challenge for me the last three days and I’m more St with the TT and the first couple Hilltop finishes so I’m just looking forward to giving it a go and um seeing where we end up basically so let me just give you an idea of the Riders who are here signing in right now and who are not here out of the big four Tour of France Riders here we have Primos Rait renco EV a pool coming back from collar bone injuries in the tour of the bass country same thing for yonas vingo but he had a worse crash fractured ribs punctured lung collar bone you name it he had it he’s coming back as well but he’s unable to race here his first race could be the tur of France and then the fourth Rider of the four had a pachar and you’ll remember he just won the J Italia he didn’t just win it he dominated it so out of the four Rimco Primos racing here we’re going to keep an eye on them in these eight days because it’s going to be an important test for not just them but all the Riders here as we head on to the tur of France yeah it’ll be a good good test to see if I’ve uh trained well enough without too much racing uh to get myself fit enough for the tour again um cuz uh yeah I mean going to the tour is never a given so you have to earn that spot and I think this week at the do will be kind of my final test to see if if I’m capable of it of course all the team they uh have their selection going on for the tour friend so it’s important to show up fit and uh show your ready and building up for the tour to uh make sure you get select first for the tour and also like to do some good results sort of the baby tour to France I guess and everyone comes here to sort of see how preparation is gone everyone is normally had bit of a break between the previous races and have gone to altitude and then this is kind of the stepping stone to the tourle France and you have a small amount of time afterwards where you can make some finer adjustments but generally if you’re in form now you’ll probably be in form at the two of friends you know you come out of this race quite tired so you have enough time to recover do a good block of training and then recover for the tour so I mean it should be a perfect run in towards turn fr for me just needed to to to be in race situations with the guys I mean we I haven’t raised with them years I have just a couple of days so yeah collecting these days is is crucial for me I hope to get out in a better shape than I enter so that’s a b goal they’re off the Riders one by one we’re getting the Last Riders rolling out of town here the team cars this is the Doan leaves only 3 weeks to go to the tur of France speaking with all the Riders there in the mixone RIT Remco seus your and all the big guns they’re saying this is the final tuneup they need before the T of France 2024
