It’s Day 03 of the Bristol – Paris Cycle ride for St Peter’s Hospice; we’re over 54 strong in numbers and we’ve done the UK leg.
After the overnight ferry, we hit the beautiful roads of Caen – Evreux in Northern France; and the total distance for this day (Friday 17th May 2024) is 89 miles. …Enjoy!

okay well it is day three of Bristol Paris 2024 I’ve not slept well uh had a bit of a stomach issue but it’s okay it’s fine trying to get on with it and uh yesterday was pretty bad so as you probably can tell from the interview that b gave me um but yeah it was pretty disastrous afternoon whereas the day went quite well so I’m hoping for today to be a much much better day I mean it can’t get much worse than yesterday can it oh God da temp fate but um other than that it’s been okay the company is great Freddy is amazing other people are amazing and uh it’s good to be here with Ben and let’s have a quick look at the what it looks like we’re still on the ferry I’m in the cabin the boys have gone to breakfast and I’m trying to avoid a bit of food so but I need fuel so I’m going to go do that now so this is the view from the ferry we are moving pretty fast I think that’s the main land of France and there’s the it not bad but yeah day three here we come well miss I guess I’ll be on my way now you just give me a [Music] baby I’ll show you show [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] hi Ben say hello to the camera how have you found it I’m inight yeah worst morning the whole trip you reckon yeah only because we at at 5 did we we at at 5 a.m. oh yeah and then we didn’t have lunch time yeah I think once we refuel this has been the best afternoon yeah so far [Music] [Music] [Music] you right guys how you feeling yeah all good all good yeah little rain how far are we from the actual finish line for today 6 miles we’re dry over the bones and now we’re wet to the FL hey Mike he too how you doing West yeah it’s a bit of a surprise wasn’t it although we didn’t you did see the clouds we were riding away from it I thought so [Music] too I’m Zona yeah I work as a graphic designer MH and I chose to do this ride for a personal challenge to prove to myself that I could do it okay yourself I’m so I work as a nurse at the hospice and I sat next to two physios who were very persuasive that this would be a wonderful idea mhm have you ever done cycling before either of you well I could could ride a bike but I would say that’s quite different to um Road biking yeah yeah um I yeah I have I’ve done long Bing before but definitely not few years and this is the end of day three yeah so what happened today can you describe today both of you each of you in your own words how many miles how many 89 mhm 89 miles come on yes I would describe today as a roller coaster like I had yeah and I had an up then a massive down and then a massive up that’s how I would describe it was stunning we got absolutely pummeled with Biblical rain almost hit by lightning did we yeah yeah yeah did you miss that well I saw the lightning but I didn’t know if we it came that close I we did time in between the thunder lightning oh one um but it was great yeah yeah and it it was like such a team effort in that moment I think probably most sponded over being absolutely drenched just go I think it would have been quicker to swim nice good answer n [Music]
