it’s overrun with tourists and cars some 50,000 Vehicles a day but paris’s most famous Avenue long ago lost its charm for parisians so will a revamp help its appeal plans to reinvent the shaniz aimed to make it Greener and reclaim two of its six Lanes of traffic for pedestrians it would be nice because we’re being invaded by cars and pedestrians need to stroll too don’t they the more it’s pedestrianized and the fewer cars there are the happier I’ll be and the more likely I would come here which I never do apart from for work aside from those who work in the neighborhood or are just passing through parisians make up less than 5% of the Avenue’s visitors but it wasn’t always like this renovated by Baron hman in the 19th century it soon became fashionable with its beautiful shop windows and entertainment venues parisians used to love strolling along the Shan now urban planners say its luxury stores only draw tourists they want to give the Avenue its appeal back with more green spaces twice as many cycle lanes and by pedestrianized the largest Square in Paris leaving just one lane for traffic how do we get parisians to want to go to the sh and not to say we don’t go there anymore the Paris city council will now examine the proposals with the overhaul projected for completion by 2030 okay

    1. Personally, I'm looking forward to these changes as large roadways with a multitude of cars is not appealing at all. Nothing quaint about a throughway in the center of town with all of it's noise and air exhaust.

    2. Wasn’t it supposed to be made by the OGS? So basically they just built a stadium and accommodations in Saint Denis. This will help them have a surplus to finance these projects I guess

    3. Hope this would become a reality. Went there last year and the only thing that bothers me is how infested it is with cars.

    4. J'adorais y aller avec ma mère et mon frère dans les années 80-90, le marchand de glaces dans la galerie, puis le Virgin Megastore, l'hystérie lors de la découverte du Séphora… puis plus rien

    5. The sidewalks are already wider, there used to be side streets running parallel to the main avenue. Now, those are sidewalks. That's enough. The vibrancy of the street has returned. 20 years ago, it had become shabby. But Apple, Vuitton, and Galeries Lafayette have revived interest.

    6. Parisians don't want cars, most parisians walk, take public transit or bike… even suburbanites do in Paris. Cars are a nuisance that is forced upon everyone. I hope that those changes will be implemented, fast and pushed even further. 2×2 roadways is still too much.

    7. This will just cause huge traffic jams, leading to more pollution,.The traffic has to flow, and the street has to accommodate the volume of traffic. The Champs-Elysees is perfectly fine the way it is. The pavements are already wide enough to accommodate pedestrians. It's unrealistic to think that taking off 2 traffic lanes will draw more Parisians, since the whole avenue has become a tourist trap. Overpriced restaurants offering nothing extraordinary, and high-end boutiques and shops that can be found in just about any major city around the world is not likely encourage locals to rediscover the Champs-Elysees.
