A Day with BALD and BANKRUPT | Ukraine 🇺🇦

I spent the day riding around the Darnyts’kyi region of Kiev, Ukraine on bicycles with Mr. Bald and Bankrupt in search of Soviet Mosaics. Along the way, we speak to Babushkas, have a pull up contest, ride along the Dnipro River, visit a pet cemetery, and look for Gopniks. all right we’re going through not the touristy area here that everyone sees when they make a video about flipping cube we’re going through the rough and ready sleeping regions of dynamics most people are too afraid to go there but with johnny fd at my side i reckon i can do it right turn johnny literally how is your bike holding up under your 120 kilogram frame uh that’s surviving oh there’s gears up oops so mr ball just challenged me to a soviet pull-up challenge pull the bikes over let’s see how many we can do how many wrecking you can do when your little legs reach up here can you get up welcome sir the made armed revolution you could say that the uh well the situation for many many ukrainian people of course has become a lot worse you see a lot more people go through things and stuff like that like pensioners like pensions here are so tiny unfortunately some people just get left behind anyway let’s keep the positive mood let’s go over there try not to kill myself while filming it right it was like little bmx off-roading here comes big johnny oh my god on the nail bike he’s off-roading slowly johnny slowly oh god he’s wobbling straight to the water perfect like a professional so i somehow managed to survive that uh offer a little bmx challenge that mr bald fearlessly flew down and now it’s actually a nice little ride by the river in that recycling around there was built under coolshot as the ideal soviets like living quarters they built everything on this little island we’re going around for a soviet citizen the idea was they were going to have like little river ports for hydrofoils and like canal boats around this canal for like the citizens of kielya to travel around so this is through and today it’s usually a place to fish by old codgers check them out on the other side of the river is zero chance if you can get up there i’m buying episode harder for a month man that’s an ultimate guard that is a pimp mobile back in soviet times if you were like a little bit kind of like a bit of a white boy you know you had evolved there’s a little market passing through now as well but i wonder these i bet you if i just put this in black and white these markers would look like it was the same as so many times huh this is where rubbish is make today great okay it makes your day great yes i like it did you get told off by publishing johnny’s been terrified babushka that you can buy they bring the people the publishers bring their products in the villages and stuff like honey they like they make all their own stuff maybe you can buy some like salmon gold or something would you like some summer guns there yes i’m gone but we can make some if you have enough [Music] time what are you gonna do with eggs i don’t know what we’re going to do with these eggs but i feel sorry for the publishers here on a sunday mm-hmm so we’re going to give them as a present to somebody else oh nice we need our protein every day so that’s what we do that’s why we have so much protein we’re gonna give it away wow wow i’m getting all the eggs she’s giving me all her eggs today is um mr bald is looking for 50 eggs that’s a lot of eggs who can we give it away [Music] so we’re just leaving these uh babushka with 50 eggs behind us i wonder what they think of uh these two random porn guys riding bicycles around this part of town handing out eggs that’s not even easter where are you at mr bold i lost him because i’m too fast for mr bold or maybe he saw something interesting back there i don’t know what yet the speed racer is coming by johnny how have you been in the ukraine three years off and on but this time just two months so what words do you know in ukrainian or russian that we can um you can tell me uh sm cover hey stop reading stop reading actually we’re going to look for a soviet mosaic do you know how to say that in russian that’s how much russian i know after three years over here guys i’ve seen a soviet playground can we check it out yesterday you didn’t have to stop so bruh by taking your card for a slow hold jesus i don’t know these ladder breaks are just too strong paul is taking me to a rubbish bin x3 johnny how is it oh that break that’s [Laughter] wow there’s so much fun you can have just like driving around riding around the back streets of kiev you never know what you’re gonna find including a little baby soviet swing and a little soviet baby [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] this is unbelievable it’s on the line you see we could kick the roof you made it challenge one eyeball the seat down it ain’t about the money [Music] [Laughter] it looked like he missed again get out of it one thing you can’t fault me on his mind where’s richard have i ever introduced you to uh my friend adolf hello have you ever met adolf don’t say those words you’ll get demonic oh i’m trying to figure out adolf cat whenever i’m in here i always come and see my main adult we’re walking through a pet cemetery this is adolf he died in 2008 unfortunately and this is his brother dictator oh wow yeah a couple of laps no doubt how do you find this just going around and yeah ukrainians love their animals and this is the pet cemetery this is actually interesting it’s like right inside the road it’s kind of like a nice place so i’ve always known that hanging out with bald would be an adventure but this has been crazy like i haven’t even showed you half of things because i’ve been trying to ride this bicycle ball while filming but it’s been fun and i never would have came on this side of the city it’s like literally crossing the tracks or crossing the river but it’s super interesting and i never thought a million years i’d be walking through a pet cemetery ukrainian pet cemetery these are nicer than most of the headstones in the us or many of the melodies and definitely better kept with flowers and everything look at this this dog was more loved than a lot of humans johnny come check out this one this is huge the head mafia guy of darnitza region before was called and this was his dog that he used to terrorize the locals who didn’t pay up on time they didn’t pay their roof krisha and this is nesh when nesh died in a shootout between the um darn it sir and try ishna gang well the owner built a statue this is nesh hello yes he’s a scary looking guy not as scary as this look at this cat right behind nesh yeah fierce cat no trains coming what do you think of graffiti are you a dynamo fan uh all right johnny let me know when you found the toilet there’s one right here oh really johnny’s found a toilet oh there’s always a bathroom ready when you’re in um do you need a number two on number one that’s it no one’s looking don’t worry no one just be quick a barbecue might see you [Laughter] she was looking we’re just casually passing by old army missiles and trucks is that a hummer [Music] and we’re coming up on harold’s favorite restaurant good old mcdonald’s around this corner somewhere we’ll start seeing some soviet stuff and hopefully a soviet mosaic or two [Music] right there the sun’s but maybe i don’t know what mosaic sounds like so this is the kind of place there would be a soviet mosaic out here in the nether regions of the city we are really in the middle of nowhere like i’ve never i have no idea where we are and i never came about myself are you enjoying it you know actually i am this is actually quite adventurous it’s good to see the real kid where they’re they’re real people speaking of kevians isn’t it jeff this the pretty sure half these guys [Music] what is exciting is what’s on the edge of the comments i’m going to show you now something you’re going to love i think your subscribers are going to like what we’re going to show [Applause] a soviet mosaic in the heart of garnitzer region check it out on the side of this chemical college what are we looking at what are we looking at well show the viewers the amazingness of the soviet mosaic you know what i have to admit it’s actually nicer in person i don’t know if it was this crazy journey that made it worth it but it’s actually quite impressive it’s impressive now just think this is the size of a science college here in darnitza region old soviet chemical science college and so you’ve got some people up there making formulations doing some sciency stuff what boffins do favorite people than me and johnny that’s it different colors it survived after all these years show them let them see it da guys i’m going to be honest whenever i watch bald these are these soviet mosaics like inside the road randomly in countries i’m always thinking like what’s the point why why does he do this but i will say that in person it is actually a lot more interesting part of his journey of getting there that’s always going to be fun but second the soviet architecture makes everything just make you feel small that was kind of the whole point of the soviet architecture is to show how powerful they were how you know big and strong so the fact is when you’re standing here under it and you look up and you see how tiny and middle school you are then actually it feels grand somebody must be famous must be a famous soviet scientist into the soviet underpass i think we are the daughter to complex today and we are back so after a long day of cycling over 50 it felt like it’s a long way it’s a long way did you enjoy your little trophy adventure i actually really enjoyed this really yeah this should be a this should be an airbnb adventure or whatever what was your highlight what was your favorite part i think we’re just running down that river it was beautiful all the people that we met that was nice some beautiful bubbles there was some beautiful rubber bands yeah yeah again sometime let’s do it so bikes are safe just knock them up [Music] oh
