[Music] hey folks how you doing it’s Richard from B packing Adventures I’m here at different gear in Sheffield for All Points North I’ve just come down here uh to see who’s here and just have a good look at the bikes and uh say hello to everybody and wish everybody well I’m actually going to be doing the AXS tomorrow and Sundays it’s two 200s from here to uh D’s bike center and then again on Sunday nice bit of camping in the middle should be good anyway let’s talk let’s have a look around the bikes and uh see was here [Applause] today so what’s your name and number my name’s Andy number eight and this is my am definition um I did a suspension seat post from the canyon makes a massive difference Brook saddle uh Dynamo Hub so Dynamo front light rear light backup okay Set of Lights just in case the worst happens but Dynamite has been reallyy good actually really like almost too bright purpose uh got my bank Pizza on it way um seat pack sportly boy bag um air bed in there what cassette you rning it looks quite small Andy 1132 that’s bigger than what I had previously up was 1128 so that should hopefully be all right excellent well good luck out there Andy thank you mate right now that’s for sure so you’re number 81 what’s your name I’m will scrim show have you done this before yeah I did the I did the the postco Edition the not all points North one a little a while back and I did did it about 2 or 3 years ago uh yeah three years ago I think so back for another one so this is your bike it’s a see it’s a su yeah it’s a su Cali it’s a titanium frame yeah so hopefully last many many years yeah it’s been great just yeah changing the you know the odd sort of wearables and things like that otherwi it’s it’s been absolutely fantastic it’s done you know London Ed London three lots of All Points North you know many OD axas and stuff like that it’s been great excellent it looks like you got 30 full cassette on the way biggest cassette you can possibly get on absolutely yeah well living living in Sheffield you know you need it on the Hills what’s your name and your number where you from from Derby and my number is four so do you want to tell me all about your bike um this is Penny my pinell she’s an X7 um she’s an endurance bike so hopefully she’s going to do well on the endurance ride but yeah I’ve had her since January so yeah and you was just saying off camera this is your first time doing all points and off mhm and excellent bit scared it’s I’ve done like the distance before yeah but not on my own so that’s my first time riding at night starting at night so so see we’ve met before uh at these kind of events so not completely strangers so I know you’ve done PBP yeah uh and all various OD axes over the years yeah so what can you tell me about by what gears you got on and what’s your lowest gear um to be honest with you you might have look for because I have I think you’re on a 30 32 yeah I’m 32 12 12 and then 5034 I get a bike and I ride it yeah I don’t look into all mechanics Kyle SS out the mechanics and I just R yeah no I am trying to get better at it but um I’m not very good at mechanics and stuff I did actually learn it all when I did a bike review and then it once I learned it it went out yeah yeah yeah it’s uh how you actually feeling about the uh race stroke scared I’m not really treating it as a race cuz I’ll just be happy to finish so my aim is just finish I don’t know if I can do it in the time but I’m going to try and yeah if I if the time limit goes I just keep riding it’s a bank holiday weekend so you’ve got extra time excellent well I hope you have a good ride Amy thank you is there anything El you can tell me about your setup about all front what we got running exposure on the front it’s got a really good battery off it should be okay and then I’ve got a spare one this is for like when it’s really really dark and there’s no street lights and this is for like when it’s just a little bit dark and we got my garment solar so that’s good and di2 so electric gears I’ve bought my charger with me just in case but I did test out the gears and they last us for 800 mil before without dying so should be okay um tail in on the back with everything in for sleeping Outdoors sleeping bag and baby bag snacks got a tire glider cuz I need they’re awesome aren’t they yeah really and then you eventually bought one yes I bought one those comments down below by sub tag later yeah really good and then Calia Saddles this is endurance ones it’s like extra py so cuz I did get really bad saddle saw on Paris West Paris so I’ve had a bike fit this time so hopefully it’s going to work but have fantastic ride you let’s just in another a couple Riders what’s your name my name is Nadin anog and my number is 58 are you sure and this is your first time doing all points off is it yeah first time I’m doing all points you look forward to it yeah yeah um I’m really looking forward to exploring some more of the north and um to yeah like to the nature and everything so it’s going to be awesome we did TCR in 2022 that is correct you did it where we met yes that’s right yeah so not completely alien to you these cans of no no that’s right I’ve done I’ve done a couple yeah so yeah but um never done in north of England so it’s going to be good lots of hills lots of climbing that is right yeah right and who’s sat next to I’m Johnny Johnny pillar I’m cat 42 cat 42 this is your first time this is my first All Points yes it is so I’m from Sheffield it’s nice to start and finish from here so you’re more familiar with the hills both have a good ride thank you very much and the Sun stays uh well the comes out cuz I’m riding myself this weekend as well so yeah yeah fingers crossed very much minutes jobs before the race starts get those nails done yeah it’s very important look after yourself now it’s more a um ritual so now I don’t dare to not do it uh my name is Anna and the cap number 12 what can you tell me about your bike it’s a Genesis equilibrium custom build and um built for the 2016 uh length of Sweden or was it 17 no 16 and then it’s done two tcrs and a lot of other stuff so look at that beautiful bike this is yours what’s your name and cap number uh name JD and cap number 25 excellent so you uh you’ve done everything before the all Point North I believe you did the TCR what I did yeah 2019 2018 I did this one as well in 2019 a year so um see you back for more indeed so what can you tell me about your beautiful bike um I can tell you I’ve had it for a couple of years now I like it a lot it’s um does me well is that is it a gravel or you’ve got very low gearing but looks of it technically it’s a um they sell it as um single speed cycle cost set a bit of a road road bike I’m liking the look of that cassette it’s big enough I I can’t do without my low gears you’re riding as well I am yeah we a here okay what’s your what’s your uh what’s your name and numbers H I’m CLA yeah my number is 92 92 B yeah is it your first time doing all points North it is yeah bit nervous just a little yeah what can you tell me about about the bike B you I mean it’s just my normal road bike uh with some a bars clipped on or some bags yeah thr on bags some bags thr on yeah just for I’ve not got much it’s a sleeping bag I can see that and a toothbrush all the essentials yeah an extra year we were doing something else we cancel that and then I didn’t sign on so you’re a driver driver a mechanic pre event yeah you’re on your own now now over to you you’ll be there at the end though yeah and you own your phone call away also I can have some rides on my own in peace now so we all know Chris number 16 this year we W to or point off I was near going to say together but don’t why we started together didn’t we we didn’t yeah I didn’t finish I ended up in a in a churchard yeah it got got into the late distri didn’t you then you turn around see this year you come back me business hours fingers crossed on the weather front guys yeah together that’s right yeah end we were kicking off about that fell with the exposure lights that’s right yeah riding with an my friend yeah it seems so long ago now the beginning of April I think it I know I’ve been still banging on about it all day today cuz just the similarities of the fact that uh it’s like a nighttime star yes but it’s it’s not over so quickly is it so can you tell me about your bite of course aocc right so I’ve been waiting for ages for some ta Carina cranks because I want to convert this to TA but in the interim I put a grx on there with uh 165 cranks in the uh recommendation from my bike fit well no that’s not strictly true my bike fitter said you don’t need 165 cranks and then I relayed that to my dad and he said very patronizingly well they’re your knees so then I thought maybe I should so anyway I stuck them on um we’ve got pretty low gears here so we’ve got GX standard 46 30 on the front and a 34 on the back for the spinny spinny of the steep hills lovely gold chain as well lovely yes so odox maths the gold chain is like 40 G lighter than a Shimano 105 and the jams from the premier in that I nicked are 14 G each so three extra jams for the price of that gold chain every Grand matters uh unless you’re me nobody else seems to have as much stuff as me right every time I’m sure they do no no no every time I’m like literally I would die if I don’t have every single item that I have here right now and then I rock up to an event and then like everybody has like half the stuff that I have I can’t even lift my bike onto the bloody thing it’s too heavy [Music] so it looks like somebody’s just arrived what’s your name and number uh Matthew and number 52 I’m just going to go around the bike where you are you local where you doing from living uh live in London but originally from Birmingham ah so yeah and what’s the B you riding on today it’s a saffron Frameworks so stainless steel yeah carbon for so Matthew at saffron did a nice job for me so got this last year yeah so watch gear so far uh yeah yeah yeah yeah I could probably do something a bit higher for the the big Hills but but we’ll see how you can never have enough gear yeah well you have a good ride yeah well thank you [Music] as I look around there’s lots of nervous faces got 40 minutes to [Music] go look who it is James beginning of the beginning of the beginning end of the beginning end of the beginning that’s the way say how do you feel went to this point yeah good good start we had a good start but for me now I guess the um all out there so I’m going to be worrying about now until they all get back on Monday night so how many riders was this year then uh well we signed up 150 but I think have not checked we have to do the final time cuz we’ve had a few scratches today yeah about30 Riders out I think it’s the same of last last year more or L more or less yeah and of course also this weekend you got an odax going on as well going to be up in the morning yes I’ll be there at 7 yeah it’s from here starts here at the Institute that’s it from here in Sheffield hope you enjoyed it bit of a different kind of video seeing everybody for me it was very interesting I this time last year I was in their position so it was good just to wish everybody off and doing the odax this weekend looking forward to
