we have absolutely stacked Fields here in cery the women’s race is first up heading we’ve got the two best women from last year we got Beth Potter the World Champ we’ve got Cassandra B we know how brilliant she is on her day and we’ve got a huge story around the Americans with Olympic qualification Katie zerz subbed in for Gwen Jorgenson It’s All or Nothing for Katie isn’t it it is she really needs to go out there today and prove herself and prove that she owns one of those Olympic spots obviously the likes of Spivey and rapor and Casper will have other ideas and we won’t know the American team until early June cuz it’s discretionary it is so it’s all about kind of proving yourself Taylor spy you got that fourth in Yokohama is that enough to get on to the team there’s so many unknowns and we’re going to get to the more unravel today yeah and the British what about that we got Taylor Brown back which is obviously phenomenal yeah Taylor Brown she’s won this event the last two times it’s been on she’s coming here in already in good form there’s two spots left for Great Britain and three amazing women looking to take those spots Olympic places on the line the field is phenomenal let’s see what happened on yourk so way they go 60 women into the med and we’ve seen in the past this beach start can cause a few issues for some of them already a fair degree of separation just 3 minutes in no surprise Maya kingma right towards the front along with Victoria Lopez who’s LED out on the last two occasions they’ve raced here but it’s the Dutch woman who is out first just shy of 19 minutes a lot of the big names in close attendance though nib is there Spivey is there Flora Duffy prominent too Lisa T also has had a good swim Taylor nib in transition she’ll be out shortly a little bit splintered on the bikes early on but it looks as though this group is going to come together and indeed they have 26 of them now on the third lap of 10 well summer raport has lost touch with the chasing group for the US and the British athletes a final chance to get to Paris races within races as they prepare to come off the bikes after a 38k ride Lombardi in a very prominent position Kate Wolf on the right Flora Duffy is right there nib had a poor trans position in Yokohama Taylor Brown okay that look for the Brit her first big race for about 11 months Lombardi with a statement of intent straight away Bo gr’s gone after her then Taylor Brown Potter not far away big names are lining up now four of them have stolen a March Potter tur bogrand and Lombardi three from four for the podium you would think think and in behind Spivey and seir is almost having a one-on-one jeel might be for an Olympic spot who knows it looks like B has gone and she’s going to get there Lisa tur is going to hang on for a very Gallant silver but Bo Grand wins an Olympic distance race at this level for the first time t a superb second and Beth Potter has outsprinted Emma Lombardi to take the bronze what a 10k run that was absolutely insane I mean Bo Grand looked like she was coming off the backat so many times so many times she couldn’t respond to Potter then she’d get herself back into it and she still had something left at the end the Gap is massive to the next athlet and we’ve got we can see there’s George tayor Brown Sophie Coldwell Le came in in fifth position 26 seconds down Taylor Browns looks like she’s got the edge over Coldwell is this enough for Taylor Brown and Coldwell to secure their Olympic selection positions they’re ahead of the other rival Kate WF what a run from Georgia T um from Georgia Taylor Brown and Sophie Coldwell there Laura Dey coming home in eighth position Nina I’m and it’s Kate WF just managed to get ahead of uh Taylor nib so another tenth there for Kate WF he realistically knows that that may be her Olympic dreams for Paris over and there’s Katie’s a fear is what a Sprint finish from her coming in as the second American which is important in these selection battles Reena steinhauser great race from here another solid one from Arnold Taylor Spivey 15th position I’m not sure she’s going to be that happy with that there’s roxan slupek time to give a hug to um a spectator there really solid performance from slupek to get a top 20 that’s a that’s a really good day for her and that’s going to be enough to get her to the Olympics Anna gooy another solid result there for her just see over in the left of the screen I’m not sure if B BR has has got up since her finish she’s come over and uh pretty much collapsed over the line she really went deep on that one so Anna gooy coming in 17th sereni coming in there so sheni coming in getting 18th position Two Italians in the top 20 actually I think that’s Sophie Coldwell who’s come over the line and she just went sideways when she came over so looks like the medical attention is there on her and amazing what she did there to uh to hang in there for that position Sophie Lynn looks like she’s going to I she’s going to get the top 20 Shan reigny is going to be our 20th athlete there for mil long got 19th so we did see Sophie Lyn coming and there’s cursing Casper oh she really faded today that’s going to be disappointing for her and Lynn so coming in there the top Australian which may help her with her kind of selection chances and here we can see our official results so gold Cassandra ban silver Lisa TCH bronze Beth Potter and Lombardi just missing out with that fourth the fight for the British selection Georgia Taylor Brown just edging ahead of Coldwell further down nib and seires were locked together in 11th and 12th great from Arnold and and it was Shan ringy there from Great Britain rounding out our top 20 Cassandra well done it looked at one stage near the Finish there was a bit of a gap you were backing forth how did you find the strength to get back to the front um today I think it was just my mind I tried to be brave and I grabbed my teeth I was like come on you can’t lose this Sprint you you lost already in C so I don’t want to lose this Sprint again so yeah and how significant this is your first win at Olympic distance at this level just a couple of months from Paris oh yeah I noticed that yes nice um I haven’t run a lot this last few weeks so I didn’t know what to expect about my run so I just tried to be wise and yeah tried to keep the pace with the girls and then um I knew I had a chance on my Sprint finish so I took it and it looked like there was a bit of cat and mouse coming on with the four of you or the five of you for the last maybe 5Ks it was fantastic to watch what was it like to RAC in oh I know were all so fast so I was like okay today like it’s just like you win or you don’t win that’s okay what was it like racing in that quartet for about 6 or seven K because it looked like there were a couple of bursts of pace that Beth put in and you managed to cover all of them pretty much yeah uh you know a little bit how people race and You observe people and you listen to them and tried to figure out how they’re doing and I think everyone was doing that in the group and we were all watching each other and it was fun where do you think your preparations are now in terms of it being Olympic year cuz it’s perfect we’re only 2 months out from Paris R yeah I already qualified for the Olympics last year so the whole year was basically preparing for the Olympics so that race was also kind of a preparation race for that and I’m very happy with how training is going and how racing well done today thank you very much it’s warm out here that was a that was a tough 10K Beth wasn’t it yeah um I’ve come off like a really big training block you know I last was on the blue caret eight months ago so I’ve just been getting my head down and um yeah I’m I went for the win today and had settle for third but I gave it a good I was going to ask you know was almost a case of finding out where you were a couple of months ahead of the games yeah yeah luckily enough that I qualified last year so you know my my goal is the 31st of July but um obviously wanted to get a race in beforehand and see where my swimming bike were at but um yeah swimming bike were right there weren’t they today yeah I know everything was good and uh I just was feeling a bit uh sluggish on that run but uh I I had a bad cold a couple weeks ago and I think I’m just coming out of that so um no I’m I’m happy with where it’s at and uh ready to push on again your sluggish is pretty rapid for most people well done today thank you thanks in the third place and the winner of the bronze medal representing Great Britain Beth Potter so last year’s World Champion gets her 2024 season off to a Podium start and you suspect she’s only going to get better as she builds towards the Olympic Games in Paris well she’s been running like the wind we mentioned that and finally she’s put it all together today first medal as she said in her interview in an olympic distance race at this [Music] level candra B won her first world Triathlon championship series goal back in 2018 we’ve known about our talent for a long time first time on top of the podium at this distance and she’s timed it pretty well with Paris looming just two months away the world Triton Champion series leader present representing France Emma Lombardi so just off the podium today in terms of the race but it’ll be a consolation for her she was third overall in the series last season at 21 years of age wonder who is going to be doing this in the French capital in couple of months time come on everybody put your hands together really significant victory for today with she’s won sprint races but winner this is the distance that counts or will count in Paris on July the 31st

Amazing!
I hate the restriction on the number of athletes per nation per event in sport as a whole. The best people should all be there.
Highlights the day after the race is first rate. Trevor and Helen are great in the commentary and Trevor is tops in post race interviews. Cassandre Beaugrand will be tough to beat in Paris.
thanks excellent commentary …………..brilliant athletes
Trevor….. you look like a walking heart attack. Check your health mate
