wooo good morning Legends and welcome to day five of the cumri away I’ll overlap all the faing about packing up time lapse packing up the tent and a goodbye to the C colbeck campsite call bet campsite which was fantastic absolutely amazing and £750 unbelievable M unbelievable value so the cumri away actually runs through the campsite so it’s perfect and we’re off and straight onto it pass Park Parsons Park Forest R England so we’re cracking on this morning Legends at 7:07 probably well by far the earliest start we’ve had so it’s a bimble along the River today and then a bit of industry and stuff so we’re going to try and churn the miles out today and get finished as early as possible cuz it’s Friday after all and we’re M6 PB so we’re going to crack on so bring you what we see oh straight out the campsite onto a a f path Hill did they say there’s 168 M of ascent today so this must be it hey look what to see right though da mountains gandal mountains yeah High Pike it’s Pike Dave High Pike I know you get confused a lot and say Ragan stuff come be away day five feeling strong that we da and uh we’re away but we’re just discussing how day five gets a lot of stick online and everyone who seems to do the come way moans B moans day five and I people said to me oh day five tomorrow it’s the worst day me day we discussing they’re only comparing it to the days that were before so we’ve got a our Mantra is that comparison is the thief of Joy so we’re not going to compare it to the other days it’s a completely new day a new walk it’s not a feland walk it’s not a mountain walk it’s just a Countryside bimble along a river and if you’re going to finish in a town you’ve got to walk through some industry in town so you know we’re going to enjoy this for what it is an absolutely beautiful 15 16 M hike so we’re going to be positive all day and be loving life as we walk the Sun going up a bit of a haze on the horizon looking out at the fs that we walked yesterday and on on this lovely forestry path into the mist and on towards Carlile to finish our adventure so all positive Good Vibes this morning Dave is that some sunshine what a view what a little [Applause] Corridor just there through bommer wood and uh follows around it goes all the way around big left uer we’re on a mission this morning to find some uhan scran vanan or a cafe so we can have a a big feed see us off home a big feed would be nice would it like a proper full English yeah cuz we’ve not been eating very well look at this there’s some bloody ups and downs on this last day so far some little bits of as sent and descended cheeky boogers we thought it was going to be a flat bimble by a river but there’s some there’s some ups and downs F PA fth path by the river lovely River though very fuffy path though back into a Riverside bimble but that was a big hill a big old Harry Hill so close but so far we’ll have to turn back oh I’m gone oh we’ll just go around it still on the official C 815 8:15 now we are just just shy of 3 miles in 1 hour and almost 10 minutes just shy 3 miles in the sun’s just getting a bit higher and uh the sort of clouds burned off it’s going to be a scor your day today by the looks of it people so plenty more sun lotion H we’ll get that on and we’ll crack on to carile but we need to find a scram van or a Brey bar or something like that this morning cuz I horses for horses likees the beasts absolutely beautiful they’re a beautiful animal beautiful horse my lovely horse running through the fields no how we now hey I’m walking that side of it de right back a bit whose horse is that that’s a large horse so it is horses everywhere what a majestic beast Ain it What a Beautiful Beast of a horse I’m going to name you Roberto the beautiful horse look at the river look at it it’s just stunning it’s an absolute stunner beautiful absolute beautiful bimble along the Riverside Riverside mother you go first F of the day it’s 4 5.5 m in 2 hours and 7 minutes we’re going to faf and have uh a hot chocolate or whatever so let’s get faffing oh this is my stone that’s the faf over first faf of the day break done time to crack on get some more miles in need to get to Dalton and have some scran cuz it’s 20 to 10 and we’ve not eaten so it’s going to be more like lunch time I think but it is what it is it’s crack on what the hell I’m wounded this is a beautiful Bridge here but don’t be tempted to cross it cuz uh you have to pay the uh troll toll no nice little uh stop for a a while paddle but you don’t go over that bridge you just crack on you stay on the left hand side of the water there’s a big old Posh Hall over there it’s beautiful a grand old building G boy stunning Co groovy Dave there still walking along this River it’s absolutely stunning mate that big fancy Posh Hall in the distance lovely Woodland and farmland it’s been a absolutely beautiful marvelous morning beautiful Bridge next to a beautiful Hall stunning absolutely beautiful a Bishop’s Palace Rose Castle you can pause this if you want to read that we’re cracking on the first kissing gate this bridge we’ve had to take the packs off to get through it’s not not bad going that is it not bad going that come on Dalton have a decent scram well we’ve not at dlon yet but we’re at about the halfway poter today 3 hours 22 minutes in 7 5 Mile so we’re making decent enough time we’ve had a break and we’ve had a couple of stop off sight kissing Gates go off so we’re all right we’re going to be having a real F here when we get into town and have a sandwich though taking our time Lime House school it’s very Posh looks lovely little farm what a beautiful house who would love live in a house like this me giving half the chance i’ be in there like a [ __ ] on 4 Mile M 4 Mile so we’re on the final section that everyone mours about now we’ll see what we see still out in the countryside this little bit it’s not too bad now we got a bit of road walking and what not to do but it is what it is 4 miles come on beautiful [Music] River beautiful beautiful beautiful beautiful building a bridge mate building a bridge to your heart Dave’s company put a bid in to squeeze under that and bloody and the uh Mir pump went off oh for God’s sake get me to carile man what’s the river called Dave c c you yeah this River C has been our hiking companion today we’ve been alongside it since we got out of bed it’s a beautiful thing as well enjoyed today it’s been really good great end to a hike is it Dave fantastic fantastic mate I don’t know how I would feel if it was bouncing down rain but it isn’t so all the best on the official cumri away getting giddy now we’re getting giddy now Lake only about 10 minutes from the end the castle on the hill when I was 6 years old I broke my leg I was running from next right CLI and then with a M moment away from finishing the come we and uh my uh hiking trainers are getting parked up for a week or so going have been minute walk from the end of the cber away so an ideal location probably well I’ll show you the car park Dave’s Park and we’ll put the uh post code on and whatnot and the prices and everything so you can look at doing it yourself but it’s Water Street Station Car Park 24/7 um theyve paid for 7even days up front I’ll check out I’ll put it on screen what the price was for his parking and my parking is 41 30 for 7 days at the Gil car park back in olston where we’re going now woo so that’s us done C away 2024 absolutely smashed it mate what a awesome 5 days it’s been we’ at like kings we’ve had a few pains a lot of laughs um some tough times some um you know painful last few miles w’t there a couple of days Yeah Yeah couple a couple of days it was telling on the old shoulders feet yeah definitely few miles of each of the day yeah definitely learned a lot about multi-day hiking and and camping and stuff there’s definitely stuff that taking regular breakes were the first day we just sort of like smashed through it for 10 mies before we took a break and then sort of really felt it in the feet later on and sort of got a little blister and stuff and if we just stopped every 4 miles and just took ases and socks off that would have happened so yeah learned a lot and uh just buzzing now buing for the next one I think I’m going to try and plan Hadrian’s Wall later in the year and then me and de are going to try and plan possibly doing the West Island Way next year same time next year same time next year second first week in May uh we’re going to try and do the west highland day cuz that’s brilliant as well yeah I thought the I thought was great I mean we got the weather on the last day as well we did but um we we certainly dropped in with the weather on pretty much the whole we really wasn’t didn’t we yeah but I mean you can’t walk into a town without walking into a town can you so you know you’re going to have some industry and and and stuff like that but I thought the last day was brilliant I really enjoyed it was and um yeah can’t recommend it enough if you fancy and you don’t have to camp and carry all your heavy gear you can do it in b&bs or you could do it in five star hotels yeah um it’s there’s a way of doing it for everyone you don’t have to do it in 5 days you can do it in 10 it’s uh it’s totally up to you but yeah get out there and walk the cber away however you can do it go and try and do it and uh you’ll not regret it so as always go and enjoy our be full national parks make memories not mess leave no Trace be kind to each other and we’ll
