The Elbe is one of the major rivers in Europe and goes from the Kirkonose Mountains in the Czech Republic to the North Sea in Germany. Cycling the Elbe makes for a lovely holiday and can easily be cycled by families as well as providing a challenge for dedicated cyclists. It’s mostly cycled on dedicated cycle routes or quiet country roads.

the elbe is one of the major rivers of Central Europe it rises in their cocoon aussie mountains of the northern czech republic and so there see is through the Czech Republic and then Germany and falls into the North Sea cooks even which is 110 kilometers northwest of Hamburg the total length of the ribbon is one thousand eight to four kilometer [Music] they called the L along with Mike Wales who was writing a book on this a called drip it’s could be published in 2020 by Cicero and players the actual cycle rate itself is a bit longer than they are probably about 1,200 kilometers recycled it in nineteen DS a pet cyclist could do it much less time than that but we really wanted to use the opportunity of teaching our time do some sightseeing on route and actually just really enjoying the experience and this is the way I was over there in communes about people do it because there’s so much to see on the recycled you pass through some there that was guard self flag for example and through some incredibly beautiful villages some fantastic countryside and you see some of their history of of the area and it would be a pity to rush through it and miss out on this in these experiences [Music] so this video isn’t going to give you a completely detailed summary of everything that you will see on the roots if you want that you can take Mike’s book but what it does do is give you a day-by-day flavor of what you can expect when you’re safe from the help when my hope is that it will inspire you to think about cycling they help all indeed any of the other rivers that I’ve access I could but you will be able to see in some of my other videos [Music] date a cycled fix of the major rivers of Europe and always like to go from the source getting to the source can be quite difficult but not on L to get to the source of the Elgin this would take a cable car up to very close to the source and then survey that short cycle ride uphill to reach the source and then you have the fun on the first day of just was in right down till you’re maybe a thousand meters lower than the resources and then after that the water cycle a this kind of relatively live life so it’s a really good sacred for and families for couples for anybody who likes to enjoy things without huge major significant challenges it’s mostly on by the quiet country roads or dedicated cycle tracks either tarmac or really good gravel roads a really good gravel tracks which makes for really Pleasant and nice and interesting so clear [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] you [Music] [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] she’s laying in [Music] and imagine [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you [Music] [Applause] [Music] you [Music] you

  1. Thanks for the video. 4 of us are going to cycle from the sea to the source over 6 weeks in the summer / autumn of 2022 so your video was really appreciated. Is there anywhere you would recommend lingering longer?

  2. Thanks for the video. 4 of us are cycling from the sea to the source in August 2022. Is there anywhere you wished you had lingered longer?

  3. I biked the Danube river in 2021 with some buddies and we were going to do it again next year. However, after watching your video, I would love to do this ride. I will be talking to the lads. Thanks for posting this. All the best from California
