THIS BIKEPARK IS INCREDIBLE! – Germany Roadtrip Part 1

We set off on our annual pilgrimage to IXS dirt master festival in winterberg, and to spice things up a bit this year we decided to ride as many bike parks as we could in the 4 day trip! Later in the series we visit the mother itself winterberg, try out Willingen, host of a downhill World Cup back in the day but our first stop is one of the best bike parks in the world Greenhill Bikepark! Hope of the swatch nines in 2023, it’s filled with awesome wooden features, jumps, turns and steep flowing tracks for our enduro bikes. We take the trip down with Olly Wilkins from the Ride companion podcast and Syo, in the new 900+ bhp Lotus Eletre R! It’s all out our first electric EV car experience so how will it go? W oh this is brilliant hello everyone Welcome to our German mountain bike road trip we’re off to ride some of the best bike parks in Europe for the bike fans we’ve got olle Wilkins and for the car fans look what we’re driving it’s the new Electra art a 1 th horsepower monster from Lotus we got the bikes on the roof we got our trail bikes because we’re going to three of the best bike parks in Germany including winterberg iess dirt Masters Festival it’s going to be amazing few days let’s go shall we [Music] a [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] what did you get couldn’t tell you how far are we 80% already I’ve only eaten half a sandwich we best get out then mate look at that we popped in had a quick lunch we’re out already at 97 this is actually really cool stop it then stop it that’ll do is [Music] it oh what kind of weather is it here not looking good right now is it it’s much sunnier earlier made it to Belgium there she is the Bel the tower belek that’s more like it weather’s looking a little bit better should we check on the bikes up there looking good they’re still there how far we got o we’ve got no idea 34.5 km until we go on to the E40 I believe we’re going to be going over the German border soon a real moment of Celebration let’s hope we catch that one on camera right right just stopping for our second and final charge before making it to Greenhill bike park our first stop of the trip so far electric car ownership it’s been pretty fantastic actually no complaints and the apps oh yeah the only complaint is you need a different app for every single brand of charger hey dude we just stopping for a charge um we’re plugged in and we’re just chilling quite frankly I don’t feel like I really need there’s actually three Starbucks two Cafe neros just over there but the interior in this car is so nice I’d rather be here I’m going to be [Music] [Applause] honest there it is we made it finally all the way to Germany time for a little bit of dinner maybe a rest and then tomorrow biking yes here we are then as you can see we’re excited and ready to go we had a lovely sleep last night and we’ve come this morning to greenh Hill bik Park it’s one of my favorite bik parks in the whole world so I can’t wait to get up there we’ve got a mega crew it’s going to be a sick day let’s go that’s it isn’t there it is hectic up we go Green Hill bike park I’m looking forward to this oh look at the tracks you can actually see how steep it is over there from the tree angle mate that lift is great I forgot how good this was there we are the top let’s go check out the nine course quick whilst we’re up here [Applause] oh look at it look at the drop oh good memories some Nots of good memories knocking myself out down there oh right serious crew we’ve got Deacon we got Ollie and not only s takes beautiful drone and car shots he’s also our tour guide for the day cuz he’s shreds the mountain bike he’s actually the only media guy to jump the darkfest course clip here in C clip here so now s’s got your respect let’s get some more and follow him down the first track of the day which is called The Green Hill apparently all right the Green Hill itself nice ready s after oh my goodness we’re off oh nice s couple little tables through the nine scor little bits on the side everywhere oh yes I remember this track this one is wicked more nice view of the nine car come on is boming woo woo wow oh my w oh we keep going why not mate this is wicked oh it’s a big gap nice Z no messing around [Music] how good is that yes Bo oh yeah it’s not over yet that’s not the whole hill that’s half what a start to the trip nice thanks that was working good boy which one we doing say bounce and blow bounce and blow I think it’s another wo wa s yeah God wa yeah w nice so what a tour guide W sideways [Music] Lander yeah nice you’re like moving quick AR you that W ride I bet there been people that have gone over the top almost you isn’t it we could do one of these in the UK who’s got a hill we can stick a button lift in and make one of these please someone I’m sorry with the no hand cross the bridge oh into the famous wooden feature how cool is that it’s not a landing is it it’s like a log our guys really did a sterling job ofing this I thought Sayo did a great job that was a brilliant first lap thank you dude let’s get another shall we hey what a first round this bike park is absolutely brilliant I love it here well worth the drive already even if we just went home now lap two this time I’m following odub 23 himself Dam right that’s number twoy oh nice oh oh we’re hooking her right this sounds a bit steeper isn’t it cool look at the crew this is men some speed through that s is off oh my word oh that’s quite big is that wa too far mate that is a see why you like this part dude isn’t it brilliant juke box te jump techy jumpy apparently d I don’t remember I have ridden it before Oh little deep oh this is brilliant oh my God [Music] oh that’s slippy that’s where Sea Dog crashed I remember really cool yeah mate that is all time she keep going on dbx do something different yeah do many different yeah I want to ride every track oh nice oh that shot oh wow that was short wasn’t it you you done me right this time I think we’re heading over to the left now into those woods which are even steeper where there’s a few more sort of down hilly style tracks apparently right and following the deonat down grer he didn’t hit the lip oh my god oh oh they’re off jeez man the downhill races a b of dust in there why do we have to go so fast oh brilliant so Mamu it is huh I remember this one’s got some pretty big jumps down at the bottom yeah at the bottom there some jumpy bit but um I’ll just do the speed you pull it yeah it’s like a wooden big wooden drop or something after the first one let’s have more of a description because that first one like that was like yeah yeah yeah yeah I don’t know the trucks either only went I get enough wa off no time to hang around DS we’re on a road trip oh look at De line oh wow oh my God me I didn’t know s race World Cup wow my boming boming boming that was quite something wasn’t it are you going at race PA and scrubbing or you DS is scared DS is nervous the scar they’re scared tonight they’re scared oh no M no no no don’t get [Laughter] us right some getting the coffee then I just looked right now it I brought you off it I was like what are we doing we haven’t even looked at it like what all you can see is the valley isn’t it you’re like oh my God and then just you there’s another wooden drop here but it’s chill again isn’t it so [Music] scary round the 270 [Music] wow oh what an exciting lap that was [Music] fantastic what next thanks tour guys liked it that was my wasn’t it this was my we’ve done this we shall we another one Think Bold oh it starts off with a good old Gap oh this is fast little roog G nice W hard on the brakes oh wo that was a cool track nice oh yeah that was a that Gap that was cool isn’t it that was really cool do you want to lead out no definitely not got 23 yeah yeah all right on with Christian Soldiers oh oh my god oh yes unbelievable that is too much that’s too much that is too muchu I’m done I’m done there we go one an absolutely cracking first day here on our German road trip everything was awesome thanks Green Hill bike park for having us would have to recommend cuz that is one of my favorite bike parks ever the car is absolutely awesome we’re going to pack this thing up off to our next spot
