Thinking of buying 2 only and will be washing them daily. Do they get damaged easily or can withstand frequent washes(in this case every other day)?

Get a wash bag for them and only put them on a gentle cycle.
Pretty much how I treat all my cycling gear and it lasts fine.

Two is enough if you’re washing every day. Use a lingerie bag, because mesh baselayers are easy to snag.

I used to wear base layers in the summer but not anymore. I find it much more comfortable. Only base layer I wear now is thermals when the temperature calls for it.
Edit : when I did use them I had 3 pairs and washed on gentle. Def use a laundry bag as others suggested.
