on today’s episode of like a local we’re going to show you two things number one is our president who’s right there and number two is how to rent a sharing service that we all use that are these pink bikes I hope the president will watch it too so next time he doesn’t have to use seven cars to take a kilometer long trip to the castle there are many many different sharing services that can move you around Prague most likely you’re gonna run into literally uh the green lime scooters that are laying around all over the city and are usually used by tourists couple reason uh reasons they’re quite expensive they cost a Euro just to unlock and then 20 Euro cents for every minute which is a lot and you can’t ride them on the outskirts of the city you can only ride them in the city center but you can ride them because most of the time you’re going to be on the Cobblestone and the ride will not be comfortable so that’s why we locals and you can too use these ping bikes there’s a couple reasons for it we have a year pass for the public transport and if you have that you have two rides daily for free now if you’re a tourist you can still download the app you can register there and one ride that can take up to 30 minutes will cost you 1.2 Euros you can also subscribe on a monthly basis which will cost around 10 euros a month now how to open the bike it’s super simple you just download uh the recola app it’s called recola you can see that the bikes are everywhere and you just open the scanner you scan the QR code it vibrates and it unlocks the bike now these bikes have big wheels meaning they’re even comfortable to ride on the cobblestone in Prague they’re not electric but they have three speeds and a nice little basket for whatever you may want to carry around please observe the traffic regulations in other words if you see this sign do not enter also if you happen to be in a pedestrian Zone you are not allowed to ride a bicycle and especially not on the sidewalks you can only ride it on the road so if you see many people somewhere walking maybe just walk your bike for a minute and when you decide to return the bicycle then just toss it around somewhere like the tourists do with the silly lime scooters but find a place where you can park a bike which is usually a designated area how can you tell well there’s usually a stand or a holder for the bikes which happens to be right here now to return the bike you first lock the lock and then in the app you hit return and you take a picture but I since I like to ride it like a local I said it so I only need to lock the lock and I don’t need to take a picture it will automatically return in the app and now you know how to share something in product like a local and not like a turret and now even the president will know foreign

    1. I never rent a bike in Prague. But I did it in Berlin, Barcelona and Amsterdam. It's cheap and you can easily get out of the touristed city center to see areas who are less crowded. A very good way to explore cities all around

    2. Thank you, Janek and Honza! I may be a local, but I had no idea i could set the Rekola app to return bikes without taking a picture. Super helpful information! <3
