No Reservations Allowed! | The Waffle House, St Albans

This was my final long distance ride before Ride London 2024 and I had this ride to The Waffle House in St Albans pencilled in the diary for some time but we had a dilemma! The restaurant didn’t take reservations and it was a 30+ mile ride away so was it a risk worth taking?

tongue twist to say that Fast Wind Rush Square I mean wind Rush Square in brickton behind me over there is Joe Harvey and Li I believe his name is we just met he’s just started riding with us um so meeting up with the tww Cycling Club and we’re going on a short ride well I say short because it’s a just over 40 m round trip to St Auburn’s going to a place called The Waffle House um head back home and then Robert’s your mother’s brother so I believe there’s about 10 12 of us that are riding out um some of us are from like East and North so part of the route takes us through um marble l so there are a few that are going to meet us in Marble lch Us South londoners are meeting here waiting for a few more um and then we’re going to hit the road and then um see what’s [Music] cracking come on [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey you think me you yo walk right so we’re on our way to m Arch to meet the rest of the gang before we continue with the ride right we’re at Marble Arch waiting for late comers as per so this drink with the uh trick this drink with a trick this trick with the drink and the football sock clean one on my head I learn it from Joe um I noticed last year summer was out on a ride and she had a drink in a football so but no it was what it was in a basically and um it kept her drink chilled for the whole day it was frozen and it had melted but it kept it chilled throughout the whole day so let me try that today realized that top when I met Joel this morning I said to uh look Joel trying to be like you and she said to me but did you put foil did you cover the the bottle with foil no I didn’t so I flopped hot stuff too oh my go quite hot stuff my stuff tning you’re twinning today it I know and I was going to put I I should have test oh you’ll be all right more expensive 12 who who’s that so it seems like um a lot of us have been having problems with the roote we don’t know if there’s an issue with the roote that we uploaded from Jaa but the route is just not rooting whether you’re Gite or W hooligan but there’s one person that’s got the root so he’s the pie Piper for this ride yeah so we were waiting at marble art for Olo and it’s like took bloody a oh H how nice of you join us yeah is it Niger time [Music] oh we not oh right that was a bit tricky because we had to cross a Motorway we had to wait until it was obviously safe to pass but we had to cross the road in twos [Music] [Music] look YouTube we have another prodigal daughter hey YouTube actually I think the last time you saw Karine would have been on um region park right yeah side is the sweet I’m getting the uh the buttermilk fried chicken fried chicken me decided what you’re getting or is it getting a cup of tea it’s like an Abomination this menu Isn’t it what are you getting buttermilk fried chicken what does it come with waffles yes and chips or crisp no just the waffles and the the chicken and it comes with some um sauce share the Savory no chare the sweet okay we do that then share the sweet cuz I going to say it’s against my My Religion to share put your put your teeth in share what share sweet waffle maybe will sh nobody else sharing with you need to check your an to check your ancestors first no what happen you look worried you look like you’re going to have to go and check with your ancestors first as to whe just going to chicken but it comes with waffles yeah all right it be good man it’s good are we [Music] in Americana yes please it’s milk yeah they’re nice is they cheers this is called yeah you need to go turkey for that mate well bon wrong way belly station we been fed and ready to hit the road 5 minutes later as you can see whenever it’s time to go we can never just like say rolling and then we just start riding always some drama look look at them come on let’s be having you we can whenever we say rolling we can never like just roll out and start ride yeah none of that okay [Music] 30 miles to get here roughly another 30 to get back home so I think my um prep and training after this ride will be done for um ride London to next week Sunday ride London 100 [Music] miles to come with me take him why he needs to escort you needs to escort you I the next ride you jumping train your way i’ got no choice bro all right then you know my little one I’ve got no choice bless wa catching train I’ve got no choice that’s allergic to catching train w Wait you catching train I can’t leave no listen I just got no choice it’s still done well though I still L 30 plus Miles said that no stoping Hill it’s true sense of accomplishment you get to the top of men like I did that hey up fire [Music] you know you’re in central London when you got to S through all this bcts and then they were free I’ll see you next week Sunday for ride London and then they were free then they were free yeah so we’re going to do it all again next week you ready no um Arie you ready for next week I’m ready man Bring it on Bring it [Music] on oh
