hello hope you’re doing really really well it is a lovely evening here hence the lack of my usual morning greeting and it is such a joy to have the Sun out after all those horrible months of winter we enjoyed this year hey little one anyway what I want to do is just introduce the video you’re about to watch because whilst I was editing it I discovered that I I’ve lost the intro that I filmed in the moment so the video is about myself and Katie Cabra fellow YouTuber and friend going bike packing in Aaron and the southern Hebrides so um it starts off with me in Arden which is a port near Glasgow getting my bike ready you’ll see here in this footage that I’m installing wraps bumper bar on my steerer tube so that I can lift my bar bag away from a front wheel if you have a small frame you’ll understand that packing for bike packing can be bit tricky when it comes to clearance and your frame so because of the haphazard way that I began this day and this video you’re not going to see me packing my bags and the stuff that I took so do let me know if you want me to follow this up with a video about the bags what I put in each bag and what specific gear I take for a trip like this but otherwise just enjoy this the first in my little series of videos from Scotland Katie and I meet at our dwon get straight on the ferry and get stuck into a few days touring while swimming and camping hope you like it hello we are about to board the ferry to Aaron or at least I think we are I’m actually with Katie cooker who has completed this kit so as soon as she gets back we’re on the [Music] ferry did you have a big night last night everyone’s dressed like they’re going to the Arctic but it’s actually kind of Sunny don’t know if it’s going to last though so yeah maybe that’s [Music] why oh hello it’s actually really warm kti’s in like a puffer jacket and a bubble hat it’s boiling it’s it’s pretty hot I’m wearing trousers I’ve got like some really ridiculously short shorts like we just you’ve got some ridiculously short shorts I’ve actually got bib shorts under my trousers so you so and you’ve got shoes yeah only got me exit Katie is not going to be allowed in The Distillery because they won’t let you in with clippy shoes or sandals but where we going she guys to go up there but on the plus side Katie doesn’t drink so it’s not like you’re missing out on some great experience I really love whiskey so that’s one for me that okay cool she was that easy to convert right so really weird thing’s happened here on Aaron the sun’s actually come out look what I’ve got I’ve got nothing else apart from look freaking hood on it K is wearing a hooded flee long sleeve it’s quite thin feel it feels cozy it’s nice you ride that hood up when it’s cold I mean it’s lovely but it is pretty uh War even more pleas I don’t I don’t think that going to be any more comfortable can’t ride in all of this I mean I can’t I’ll just get some good sweat on we’ll be leaving in a moment I mean what bloody time is it two already not gone anywhere right we’re finally going and oh my God words cannot describe the chaos so you know I put the bumper bar on my on my bike before I set off yeah well never a good idea to adjust your bike in a hurry right before a journey so um this way we’re going the wrong way already anyway so I set off to ride couldn’t steer I had no steering the expander bolt had gone all I just God it was a nightmare it was just a nightmare I thought the whole trip was over Katie suggested we went back to the mainland and just slept in the van for another night but I fixed it we’re going I just want to ride my bike so yeah it’s just follow this road around yeah then we’re on it [Music] yay so happy we’re finally [Music] rolling right we’re off road so so sweaty it’s wonder what temperature it is bloody hell Katie 23° it says I love that forecast was so wrong feel like 10 I’m drenched with sweat Katie’s ring in hot pants I mean what is going on oh man it’s a bit of a view isn’t it is that people in the sea what those black dots you think someone’s head would be visible from here size of them they’re just like boys aren’t they or maybe it’s [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] Nessy look single track sunshine [Music] [Music] so pretty well these blue bells I’ve not really given you many updates I started off all Mega excited and now I’m just a bit tired I think it’s another 12K to where we want to camp there a bit of a headwind there’s quite a lot of climbing oh hello what you saying oh climb complete um we’re quite looking forward to getting there I am yes I’m ready got switch back well after the endless procrastination and deliberating we’ decided we think to Wild Camp here are we there’s a bit of wind and we were looking for a bit more shelter but like wide open yeah it is wide open but you’re allowed to Wild camp anywhere what are your concerns here I don’t know just always think wild camping should be like a little bit covert a little bit like that’s because you’re used to it being not allowed I guess it’s allowed here just stick them here then honestly oh blind me I should have left my helmet on look at that hat head helmet hair I’ve actually got a new tent to use today Alp kit sent me their new smallest lightest weighted Ultra one tent uh which has got carbon poles packs down even smaller than solar whst so I’m quite looking forward to trying that out although I don’t know how to put it up so hopefully it’s uh fairly straightforward I can’t wait to get in my tent honestly I just I’m so stoked on this let’s do [Music] it I put my light in a [Music] botle something guide way so on tonight’s menu not very Gourmet I’m afraid we have got tomato and chili pasta with chili and garlic tuna am I going to regret eating all this chili tomorrow I don’t know but I am absolutely starving tell you what couldn’t be happier it’s so nice here look well that arming and aing about is this a good camp spot or not it is right m look at that that is so annoying burnt a hole in my beautiful RAB jacket other than that it’s going well got my cuffer soup check out where I’m [Music] sitting I know you of this P
