this is Spain country number four out of five from The Greatest Adventure of my lifetime cycling from Germany to jial streight to the edge of the European continent I have experienced so much in the last two months every night I am wild camping in my tent wherever I find the spot and I fly with a parag glider which I am also carrying in the bike trailer but something big is about to happen in this video at this point I cycled more than 22,000 km and still have a long way to go so if you want to be a part of my Epic Journey hit a thumbs up on this video and make sure to subscribe to my channel after last night’s rototom Sunsplash Festival where I had a pleasure to see Damen Marley singing light and other couple of artists too the next day I kept on cycling down the east coast to the next Metropole Valencia this is now the day after the concert and I just left now the camping site where I picked up my bike but let me reach first the beach and tell you the crazy story what happened you won’t believe I arrived now at the beach and um I got to say that it has been a crazy morning I was supposed to meet up with uh this girl that I was riding with poine after the concert Damian Marley started uh playing at around 12:15 and stopped at 2:00 I was now basically killing time till 6: a.m. when we agreed that I am going to go so she should actually wait for me at the camping site but she was nowhere to be found so I waited 1 and 1 half hours for her and I realized that she won’t show up so I went in front at the camping uh security and I explained to them my situation and I really asked them if I could maybe go inside and look for the bicycle yeah I went inside and I um found the bike the T were open I think she heard me speaking the way I was like telling the security guards that uh yeah now I have actually to wait for the her to come back cuz I need the keys anyway to unlock the bike and she came out of the tent to my surprise so she was just sleeping but thank God that I was inspired enough to not wait anymore and go to the security people and ask them to join me inside and yeah to look for the bike now I am going to try to reach uh as far as possible I am going to put in again the kilometers I am again alone now it’s all about uh riding and not falling off the bike because I’m really really really tired right now but still let’s go [Music] all [Music] okay I am on the road now for a couple of hours I took it easy today I am looking for a supermarket to go and buy some food cuz I am really low I was also looking for a place to fly paraglider but somehow now in the paragliding map the coordinates are wrong I have to work with Google Maps in the same time and zoom in and see compare the maps and of course once I reach there and people fly it’s much easier but if they don’t fly it’s not easy at all I’m not sure if I can still manage to fly today I doubt that but let’s get surprised I think this is the mountain where I’m going to take off tomorrow cuz now it’s too late hopefully the wind is going to be good because I don’t want to have come here for no reason at all I every time end up inside situations oh my God there is nothing with paragliding today and not tomorrow yeah it’s just too complicated to do it to make it happen and for what going in the bush and sweating my ass off makes no sense makes no sense I suffered enough that’s the mountain where I could have maybe flown tomorrow but I asked somebody and apparently no one flies from there this is the other Ridge but it’s nothing special anyway I’m going to go to the beach now most likely try to find a place to sleep and call it a day so this is the little where I bought my stuff almost 2 hours ago and then now I am back without any progress was whatsoever it’s uh really interesting the sky tonight maybe it’s due to the ash that is in the atmosphere because they have been again two fires breaking out and spreading I’ve heard like we see the smoke in the atmosphere yeah it’s actually over the hills behind me but also the sky is looking here really cool yes I now arrived at the beach very beautiful wide clean Beach and uh there is the fire the smoke if you can maybe see it right here I occasionally get uh Ash on my clothes from the air like small particles for now it’s about trying to optimize the place to camp and um see how well I can do that for tonight [Music] [Music] [Music] and this is how my day started woke up on the beach once again I slept right there where the sand is a bit drier thank God it rained last night like it really pour down buckets the funny part is that the wind was so so strong is good that I was laying in the tent and I had these two bags with me and I used them as weight to keep the tent in place because it was so so so windy but I slept so so good oh my gosh from the last night from the festival from Sunsplash I didn’t sleep at all I still rode yesterday maybe like around I would say 80 km out of which 30 were for nothing because I was trying to see where I could maybe fly but it didn’t really work out now I’m going to go at the end of this road here out of the beach brush my teeth and maybe later along the beach as well um shower and I’m not sure let’s see if I can maybe fly today now it’s going Direction Valencia now it was time to put in the work since I met Gregor and pin on the road I was taking it easy and didn’t really ride a lot in a week I rode just around 250 km and before I met them I used to ride around 80 to 100 km a day the plan for today was to ride at least 80 km Direction Valencia heading to a supposed paragliding spot but it was not guaranteed that flying will work out nor that the place exists because the paragliding map I was using was not really precise since yesterday I started riding again more around 80 km and that was enough for me to feel today how the saddle soreness started to slowly creep in I decided to ride on the Main Street in order for me to cover ground much faster and get closer and closer to my destination although at this point I was all about pushing harder I still had plenty time to have breaks and enjoy the beauty around me [Music] [Music] [Music] at this point I am trying to cycle out of Valencia and as you can see it takes a while I love filming time lapses because they really add perspective to the time spent to do a certain task where the distance traveled in my case I peddled all my way from home till here 2 and 1 12,000 km by now and I passed through so many iconic cities and places that I’ve just heard about in movies read about them in magazines in news and so on so I came to realize that life has its own Rhythm no matter where you go nothing goes away if you come back after a while all is going to be there everything just the way you remember it well more or less enjoy your life travel see the world and later come to the place you call home rest for a while and do it all over again life is all about memories challenges and experiences is nothing more and nothing less I am in Oliva another city at the beach now at least I capture this awesome Sunset oh I have today I think over 110 km if I’m not mistaken you can see again on the cloths that was not an easy ride I was sitting in the saddle for many hours and now I am uh looking for a place to Camp it’s 8:30 it’s I am better in time than yesterday and I have no idea how it’s looking like in the evening here as usual like I do not know I’m going to start uh looking now for a quiet place and uh enjoy the sunset [Applause] I found a nice place now on the beach so um I have to again detach the trailer from the bicycle take the parag glider on my back and the trailer in my arms and bring it first on the beach maybe like 150 M then come back for the bicycle and I should be done let’s see [Music] [Music] [Music] I just got ready was a beautiful night once again I think I start getting spoiled I Started Loving so much to sleep at the beach I never thought I’m going to befriend the idea to sleep at the beach because of the sand and so on but it really works very very good um to pack my stuff and the sand doesn’t disturb me so this was the entrance last night I couldn’t show you because uh it was very dark but this is where I arrived on the streets and this is now the entrance to the beach and I had to detach the trailer and a couple of bags from the bicycle because as you can see here are stairs down and then again stairs up it is not possible with the way that I have to push the bicycle here right over these Hills you could see the beach in the video I showered there and I brush my teeth I this little two showers so what is the plan for today I just called the paragliding site it’s called kumbre Del Soul it is 35 km away from here I am going to ride this time to the launch site take off from there and once I am Landing I will have to walk maybe like an hour and a half to the bicycle again the reason why I’m doing this is because once I am arriving on top if I cannot fly I can still continue riding down the other side of the mountain to the next city if I am able to fly it’s better for me to land to walk one and 1 half hours back up and then continue the ride anyway bike is ready I am ready to Let’s Rock [Music] I am now just 9 km away from the launch site that mountain there that you can see at the Horizon just on top of it this is where I am heading and the climb won’t be easy at all now it’s the big deal I still have 3.8 km up there is where I want to reach oh my gosh yes I have to make a break now I still have to go up this entire street that goes to the right and I have to reach up there but wow what a stunning view what a stunning view oh my gosh time for a second break let me show you right now what I see wow oh my god oh amazing absolutely unbelievable I still have to climb maybe 20 minutes and then I can fly I finally arrived that’s it I am now on top of the mountain I have now to see where I can take off and if it’s even any official takeoff site here yeah let’s do the work I am sorting out the lines and then I am going to to go somewhere there and try to take off right here I really don’t know how this is going to go that’s going to be a clown show in the worst case this wind is too strong guys this wind is way too strong no wonder I’m the only one here once I bring it just a bit over the ground it’s shooting like crazy and I climbed up here for like 2 hours I actually invested my entire day to come up here is a really up situation right now hell man okay that’s it that’s it I came for the view and that’s it and I also ripped my parag glider now really good look at this i t my paraglider into pieces yep that’s [Music] it I’m going to pack it now and most likely yeah I will have to send it back home anyway it’s over and done with it that’s it that’s it happens I cannot be bitter because of that it was a combination of bad luck and also strong wind I also didn’t control the parag properly and it fell right on that iron board board and due to the wind pressure as well it turned it and itth made a huge hole inside I cannot change it I won’t be able to fly anymore anyway I’m just 800 km away from my destination tarfa which is actually the most important part of this entire Journey not paragliding let’s see what’s going to happen let’s let’s go with the flow [Music] all my yeah [Music] home feel [Music] home [Music] all all [Music] I arrived uh now at the beach and uh yeah I’m trying to cool down somehow and to yeah accept what happened staying positive for sure by the way look who else is again here with me hi Gregor met me once again we were sharing the location the last couple of days and yeah we are now going to try to find again a place to sleep nonetheless a nice beautiful day rejoined him let’s see how long we are going to stick together anyway you never know oh there are six cats I think under the car too there are so many cats and this is the road oh another one here Nine Cats oh my gosh yeah anyway this is the road now that we are trying to take to see if we can find something to sleep I don’t know this is the biggest mishap that I have encountered on my journey through Europe but to be honest is not a big tragedy for me because now I am going to be much lighter when I am continuing my journey to Tarifa if you are new to my channel and you made it so far in this video please consider subscribing as I am posting weekly bike packing videos from my journey from Germany to jalta streight thanks a lot for watching
