The autobahn runs just above the camp site and takes about 5 minutes after leaving the Autobahn to camp entrance. Above average facilities , site shop (open 12 hours), snack bar, electric 16 amp but standard 2 pin+e plug so adaptor needed. A well run friendly site and supports ACSI

    A word from the owner.
“No matter whether you are passing through or would like to stay with us for a while: We are looking forward to you!
The campsite is located in the middle of a protected landscape area, close to the city center. Even by bike, on foot or by streetcar you are quickly in the middle of the vibrant cathedral city of Cologne.
You will feel at home on the course. Directly on the Rhine, under old trees you can enjoy the time with us: In the tent, in the caravan, in the camper or also in the roof tent. In our kiosk you will find everything useful and also a lot of pleasant things. Let us surprise you.
Please note that we have departure/checkout from 8am to 12pm and arrival from 3pm to 8pm. Thank you”.

During our stay in Cologne I had our sun canopy out and the wind picked up so tried to put it away fast and damaged the centre tensioner for the Fiamma F45s on our motorhome

[Music] [Applause] [Music] hi everyone welcome to the channel again so Mrs Jay what are we going to talk about today cologne cologne mhm the spray on type no a city in Germany a city in Germany yeah of course cologne um just up from Bon and down from wi and gladbach uh on the river rine isn’t it yeah it was yeah yeah and the campsite uh we we came off the motor away and the campsite is what meters away from the Rind yeah yeah yeah now they suffered as well from wet pitches and wet weather so yeah we were there for two nights two nights so it was camping plats stad cologne I think I booked it independently to be honest but they are on axi but um was independent but we was on there on a bank holiday weren’t we yeah so you you you will not get anything from the axi um it was a long trip wasn’t it though from IM grin two4 miles is yeah yeah but anyway it it was worth it when we got here so and the weather was gorgeous wasn’t it while we were there well we sort of got there it it was cloudy but as the day went on it got better didn’t it yeah it was nice and then it rained yeah did rain uh but by the time we got up the next morning it had uh all yeah gone cleared it got up to about 24 yeah 25 5° nice so out came the old bikes yeah so like so we was there just for two nights weren’t we so yeah so we just had one full day there really so we decided to see cologne bya the rind on the bikes yeah so it was an easy cycle into cologne just along the cycle path and along the Rind really yeah and uh yeah that’s so so but what we did was we cycled up um the third Bridge from the campsite yeah over which was quite easy to um get up on to cuz a lot of them were just steps weren’t they Trixie trailer and everything yeah so we found the one that was ridable and we rode our bikes across the bridge crossing the Rine quite nice wasn’t it yeah it was nice and it brought you out um near the cathedral didn’t it yeah you could see the cathedral in the background so we got backed down and there’s like a long um embankment embankment type cycle Pathways um and we rolled up and down there um we managed to find a cafe on the mhm eventually and we had the coffee tea yeah apple cook oh yeah and cheesecake and cheesecake and uh we we split that in half and add half each and then we cycled back and then we cycled back uh over the rine again and back yeah it was nice though wasn’t it it was a nice way to really nice day um the sun come out to play so we made the most of it yeah so it was nice and the campsite campsite yeah it was not I mean it was right on on the rine I mean you can walk right up and right up to where the water is even but there was a gate at the back of the campsite going onto the banks and you could walk your dog up and down there m which was good yeah the campsite was quite close together weren’t we it was a bit bit wet but it was it was okay not very big was it campsite but for a city campsite it was how much did it cost 80 80 for two nights electric included yeah shower included the water the only thing was the toilets and the showers were up a long flight of stairs weren’t they on the F first floor and they were steel corrugated steps with no back to them yeah so if you got Mobility problems you you’d struggle wouldn’t you yeah but I think they did have a disabled downstairs yeah I think so but which you had to get a key for yeah um but yeah that was a little bit odd really wasn’t it that the that was upstairs and underneath was all the washing up up area and like a kitchen and stuff like that in in like an open fronted yeah it was a bit strange yeah well we’ve got some photos put up but yeah it was all right it was nice and clean and everything the good side was they had a nice shop there didn’t yeah there had a little shop there and that was open like 12 hours oh yeah opened a lot it and then they had a um there was a little man with a snack ball yeah a Snelly Imus yeah we didn’t have anything from there but um no but yeah and outside the camp there was a fish bar but we we didn’t I think that was being renovated yeah yeah was yeah I think it was being renovated cuz it had that big skip outside but yeah it was um for a city in a city yeah not far from the city and not far from the motorway and if you want just a quick City break to Cologne I think it was ideal really yeah I mean if you’re Walkers and you like walking a lot and six miles a much to you I mean you could just walk along that rind bit couldn’t you walk walk in be honest oh well you you could have gone across the bridge which is near the the site got up the stairs and across and walked um all up um the I think it’s the north side but yeah it was uh well worth a visit I mean we have been to cologne before haven’t we so we just wanted two nights really didn’t we yeah so uh that was enough for us but it’s all right for a short break but it was it was nice seeing all the um River oh yeah going all up and down yeah yeah it was uh and I think the weather made it and then on the last night it just rained and thunderstormed and we paddled didn’t we coming out the next morning but yeah anyway that was with with the self-leveling um the tires didn’t have time to sink in in into the ground um I retracted it and just pulled straight out and there were the others that were not having issues but you know looked a little dubious so anyway so that was cologne so that was a lovely cologne yeah yeah I pleas I enjoyed it there yeah yeah enjoyed it there it was definitely worth worth a look the the two nights maybe eat a third well yeah it depends what you how much you want to do really I mean we’v been there before so yeah it was enough for us but yeah it was a nice sight to stop on very pleasant so yeah much you know we couldn’t get near the cathedral could we well we had the bikes and the trailer and all that we’ve been before so so yeah so anyway so on to the next on to the next we Jolly well go we’ll see you in Holland the Netherlands that’ll be fun won’t [Laughter] it yeah so yes so we’ll uh catch you on the next one e e [Music] a oh [Music]
