    #Watch24SF #CrossFitSemifinals

e [Music] [Music] three [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] three weeks of semifinal action on the road to the CrossFit Games this is going to be insane this pitten is absolutely incredible and we are off welcome back to competition who can separate themselves from the rest of the field and they’re going to have to go out there and fight for it no shortcuts and a great battle threatening to set the time to beat [Applause] here going to win he’s got to get across the finish line putting it on display at the semifinal level demolishes the top time that’s the best time in the world [Applause] [Music] the French Countryside is now the home of the French Throwdown as we kick off day two of the 2024 European semifinal here at ldlc Arena I’m Chase singer with Lucy Campbell and Lauren Smith as you’ve had one event for the individuals yesterday and we’ll kick off a event number two here shortly but it was oldest Ock who had a steady start in the first couple of rounds but as he does if there’s running in an event he is got to be one of your top picks as this his third event win as he takes event number one in the time of 202047 and that’ll start off his bid back to the crossing Kings to the 100 points some familiar names at the top of the leaderboard with two rookies holding down the final two qualifying spots 10 spots of the crossing games here for the individual men as we get set for event number two as the men will kick things off five rounds for time 100 double unders 20 toes to Bar 10 front squats at 225 lbs and Lucy as we look at this let’s take a peek at our go Ruck steps to success so number one would be relaxed and unbroken on those double Enders and toar so that number two we can keep a strong squat Pace on those front squats and reduce that time of detention through the midline your 10 men in the first heat kicking things off to start day number two a surprising finish for two athletes in this heat and down in Lane number 10 bronislav lenowitz who made the crossing games for the first time last year is started off the weekend with a 40th Place in event number one with five events to go knowing a potential event win is on the horizon in that snatch ladder yeah so event one was definitely a weakness event for uh Brun but he does have those best events to come so it’ll be interesting to see how he can draw a line under yesterday and take each event as it comes today and I think the bigger surprise actually was Yona kosi 34th Place finish after winning the open and quarterfinals and more on Yona let’s go down to Lauren Smith pretty good runner I spoke to his coach yamy tan earlier today in warmup and he said it’s nothing to worry about it’s just one of those things that happened and he’s expecting a huge reaction in the this heat not just that he’s got background in comebacks as well even if you look back to last year at semi-finals his opening event was a 15th Place finish and he rounded off the weekend in fifth back further still to his debut in 2013 his worst event finish was in 31st and he still finished 10th so at this stage not much to worry about and expect something big from J in this event thank you Lauren and he’s got a good thing to have that finish at least on the first day of competition in only one event with been at CrossFit World Tour visiting CrossFit gyms around the globe create an account and scan the QR code or visit hustle up- app.com to enter that’s it draw will take place on June 20th 2024 81 men event number two starting with 100 double unders in and Lucy you look at the total volume of double unders often times we’ll see maybe 50 for multiple rounds sets of 100 it’s personally for me it’s nice to see the double iners make a legitimate appearance in an in a Crosset event yeah for sure and I think especially after you know the volume of running yesterday they will definitely feel this after today in their carbs and it’ll be interesting to see sort of how that impacts any of the other events obviously we’ve got the box jump overs as well um in the legless rope climb event coming so yeah there’s a lot through that bounding over this [Music] weekend after toes toar unbroken on the first round in Lane number six it’s Callum Clemens one of several Spanish athletes that are making their way onto the scene as they’re working into their first round of 10 front squat Yosi on the right side is with that 34th Place finish Lucy it’s Yona has to start getting top FES the rest of the way that is that is a low slow start for a very good athlete yeah definitely but obviously as we said yesterday it’s an interesting one here because he does have to start getting top fives and yet at the same time this is a multiple round workout and so he needs to be careful not to push too hard too soon on this round number one has done five total rounds of this started with a five round event yesterday with the cleaning jerks at 185 for the men as we said earlier those 800 meter runs joing the second round of 100 double HS yon aosi on the right Caleb Clemens on the left Cale clenet 27 years old this is his third semifinal as he is sitting in this first seat next to Yosi 34th Place to Start the weekend just 12 points Yosi as him and move to the rig for the second time 20 toes to bar and we saw them go un broken on the first round Lucy and he talked about the maybe the compounding effect of this event with the double unders the toes barar and then the the front squats and getting in that second round you start to get into a rhythm and feel kind of how your body’s responding to the event yeah exactly you’ll feel it a little bit more interestingly you can just see y’s feet are clipping that Riser a little bit on these toes and he’s taking a quick break there I think this will be the deciding factor here for a lot of athletes is if you can’t hold these movements unbroken which movements do you break and usually you want to break the movement that is least costly to break so it’s obviously taking longer to drop the bar and clean it back up on those front squats than it is to drop down quickly and get back onto the rig for those Toaster bar gum Clem in the center part of your screen next to Yona kosi has about a one rep lead on Yona but on the first round it’s yona’s front squat cycling that got him back in the pace with Clemens as you can see Yona drops the bar and advances just ahead of so Kaleb moving ahead on the double unders and Toes toar but Yosi now jogging back to the pull-up rig Tobias Fox sitting in 35th overall just behind Yosi third place in this heat out of Hamburg Germany and all ready at the second round we have Yona and Caleb pulling ahead of the field bit of a two horse race so far approaching the third round of this five round event Lucy when you’re watching this and you see Yono running back to the Rope what does that say to you as far as like maybe his confidence coming into this second event versus what happened in the first one yeah I mean you can see that it’s one of those things where he was was purposefully taking his time through that first round and now that we’re getting into the second and third rounds we’re building through that workout through each round and every time he makes a move on that front squat bar purely because of that squat Pace versus uh Clement in Lane number six bronos AIT in the four part of your screen is actually keeping Pace because of his cycle rate on the front squats and that’s something unique to this event Lucy because with a 100 double that’s enough volume to make a difference if you can be comfortably unbroken as far as the pace versus having to break it up but the same thing on the toes bar could it be set on the front squats maybe a quick break on the toes to Bar can lead to a faster cycle rate on the front squats but how you manage that has to be skill dependent for the individual yeah exactly and it’s all about knowing yourself knowing your capacity knowing when you’re starting to feel that midline fatigue on the front squats and actually whether or not the next round is going to be that deciding factor of whether or not you decide to break those toes far nice and quickly now it’s Caleb clementin Yona Kos on the left advance to the front squats at about the six minute mark bronislav elenowitz on the right side in Lane 10 it’s starting his toes toar yet will keep an eye on the timeing which he can make up when he gets to the rig but yon aosi still cycling those front squats much quicker than Caleb now Caleb sitting at 6′ 210 cycle rate probably isn’t going to be as fast as Yosi is that little pause that he’s taking at the top of each step the each rep sorry that’s making the difference there because jonner is just going at that pace start to finish whereas Callum does start to slow down as we get to the last reps Yosi picking up his rope as bronos alowitz makes his way to the bar bronislav one of the strongest athletes in the field which will be on full display in that snatch ladder coming up tomorrow and this is just as much of a weapon as anything else so and I think the rep schemes that they put in place here right say you’ve got your bass’s capacity maybe have to take a break in the front squats you can kind of shell game that a little bit based off how you going broken or not yeah I think it’s one of those things you know do you manage your weakness so that you can push the thing that you are stronger at or do you try to push your weakness knowing that you’ve got your strength in the bank Yosi was taking a bit of a break putting his elbows on his knees on the left side of your screen in Lane number one that’s Kevin jurs Kevin jur out of Talon CrossFit this is his third semi-final best finish at any semi-finals 19th in 2021 but actually won the barbell complex at the 2022 semi-finals this yon aosi in the center lane is just starting to pull ahead to be expected l i mean this again this is heat one we did not expect bosi to be in heat one of four we still have three Heats of individual men after this and the slight disadvantage of being in the first heat is knowing you’ve got three Heats of athletes watching you perform yeah exactly for him it’s about he can’t rest his Laurels on just winning this heat he needs to be thinking about pushing that time it’s not just about sort of making sure that you’re staying ahead for him he’s looking to jump into that top heat Yosi two reps left to go took a break at 15 was unbroken the first two rounds as he’s moving into this fourth set of front squats again the we at 225 Yosi who has been competing at the game since 2014 yet still only 29 years old and the biggest surprise for Yona is just how good he’s looked this season so far had a great games last year seems to be healthy for the first time in a long time in his career as Yosi has one last Squat and he will advance the bar forward with one round left as we’re past the 9 Minute Mark Caleb Clemens still secure in that second place position in the center part of your screen as yonkoski wats back to the rig it’s interesting to see him back walking this now because I wonder whether that jog back on round two was actually a little bit of a psychological thing because him and Kum Clemens were neck and neck up until that point and so it was just seeing if he could sort of mentally break him by being like you know what I’m still fresh in this Yosi working in his last set of 100 double unders they’re slowly approaching the 10 minute Mark 18-minute cap for this event and there’s that break and the break is okay but the body language might not be so yeah he is breathing pretty deeply now I mean understandably tell you this is obviously the last round but now he needs to keep the tempo that he’s set in the first four rounds yonak kosi is about to potentially lap some of these athletes in the field for this first heat but Lucy we talked earlier as Yona takes another break and a bent over as he does it is that you know those breaks might look differently if we’re in the fourth heat in a competitive field of athletes than it does in the first heat how do you how do you keep pushing that pace knowing you have 30 athletes left to go I think that’s the thing you’ve only got to remember that you’ve got 30 athletes left to go and actually you are setting the time to beat knowing that they are all coming knowing your time Yosi done with 100 double hunners moving to the rig 20 toes to Bar fifth round a 100 total for this event as in the last round Yoda went 155 final round and though he’s taken some bigger breaks on the double unders not necessarily so much on the toes to bar but his cycle rate on the squats hasn’t changed it all no not at all I think as well it’s usually a lot easier to breathe through the to Bar than it is the double unders double unders for elite level athletes are usually a fairly relaxed movement it is on a lot of workouts your chance to be able to breed but with this volume that’s where you’ll start to see the difference Jona has five reps left as Caleb Clemens still sitting in that second place position starts his toes toar off with a no rep as yosi’s one done and off to the front squats and this is big for Yona knowing he’s got three Heats left to go 30 men still waiting to take on event number two as Yosi gets to that 225lb barbell with 10 front squats left to go [Music] SS five reps left to go for Yosi he’s got to get over the bar and cross the finish line to stop the time as Yosi is looking to bounce back after a tough event number one as he’ll take Heat number two has been on his heels all the way through this just after that 12 minute time Caleb Clem and in his last 10 front squat so a good performance for Caleb who’s sitting at 32nd overall after day number one but just one event yesterday still five more events to go for the weekend two today three tomorrow as Clem will pass the Finish Line at about 12:53 the right side of your screen is the yellow shorts Tobias fox trying to hold off Lane one Kevin shures really good squat Pace with the Tobias squat Kevin jur is putting it on here towards the end but Tobias just enough to stay ahead of him and he’ll finish right out behind 15 1315 with Kevin jurs behind him [Applause] 1320 Jamie ales will cross the finish line line Lewis cooler unaffiliated 33rd Place yesterday we’ll cross the finish line here bronislav Al [Music] lenowitz again getting 40th to kick off the weekend yesterday and we’re saying if he’s going to try to find himself in the top 10 he’s going to need to start finding himself more in the top five with other events and this is another tough finish for bronislav as it’s good enough for yep seven in this heat unfortunate part this is Heat number one two athletes left on the competition floor Lane number nine making his way to the barbell Jules caster [Applause] I can see the fatigue we saw a lot of the same body language after event number one yesterday as Jules Caster is working on his last 10 front squats caps 18 minutes as we’re approaching the 15minute mark nobody is in danger of being time [Applause] capped as cter will cross the finish line right at that 15minute Mark with one athlete left on the floor Mo lorg also out of Talon CrossFit Kevin jur in Lane number one representing Talon Crosset as well barbell as Lili org makes his way to the barbell [Music] and Lucy we’ve seen a lot of athletes get fatigued over here of the double hter toad to bar yet it seems when they get to this bar bell doesn’t really seem that big of we haven’t really seen anybody struggle here I think that’s usually an indication of actually it’s their heart rate that’s hit hitting them on the double unders rather than any of that midline fatigue that we spoke about so they can still hold that strong squat pace which is uh I mean good to see but then the the challenges are double unders yski unofficially 1220 will get first in this heat and then he will have to sit wait and watch to see how that time holds up for the next three Heats so we had that early lead from Clemens in Lane number six but Yana stayed with him pretty much through those first two rounds and then we saw him start to pull away in rounds three and four nice and smooth on the double unders but obviously we saw them start to get him on the last couple of [Music] rounds kept that steady squat Pace route which is great to see those tactical breaks 15 and five on the toaster bar nice and smooth and then that last set finishing the line in first in that first heat but it’ll be interesting to see if that time can hold unofficial time 1220 2041 for Yona kosi heat one is done Heat 2 coming up next [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] welcome back to the French Throwdown I’m Chase singer with Lucy Campbell and something new this year for semi-final athletes that they’ve never got to have before is that they’re getting fully kitted out by a new apparel partner Northern Spirits more on them to go down to Lauren yes and what better place to debut Northern Spirits new partnership with Crossfit than in France where they are from if you look at our on floor MCS and the judging and staff as well we’re all kitted out and there’s a distinct French flare to everything I know the athletes are really enjoying just having that perk and we look forward to a continued partnership with them thank you Lauren Heat number one is done we’re looking at Heat number two tackling event number two 100 devilers 20 toes to our 10 front squats at 225 for five rounds Lucy what are our go Ruck steps to success so we’re looking for relaxed and unbroken through those Toaster bar and double unders so that we can keep a strong squat place on the front squats and reduce that time of detention through the midline your starting lineup for Heat number two for the individual men Fabian Bonito in Lane number nine has a history of slow starts to start the weekend but he tends to charge hard towards the end yeah he was in a similar position after the first event last year 30th after event one but managed to come through and secure that spot for the game so he’ll be trying to do the same this year another B athlete Victor Hofer who has pretty much all the hype and momentum coming into this weekend he’s in Lane number one to the 30th Place Arc talked to his coach earlier this morning and said that’s going to be his worst event he’s got five good ones on the horizon stand by win a cross it World Tour visiting Crosset gyms around the globe create an account scan the QR code or visit hustle up- app-centric Hofer right there in the front part of your screen he’s right next to fabbi and Bonito and Hofer taking 30th Place to Start the weekend but Lucy with his skill set there’s about two events where he is basically the favorite to win those yeah absolutely he’s got that home run potential on a few of the events coming up the legless rope climb event he’ll be one to watch as well as that handstand walk event so he does have you know those big events coming it’s just that yesterday might not have still been the start that he wanted and this event is a little bit of a question mark for him as well great on the double hunners as you can see basically unbroken the entire way through to to Bar not going to be an issue but how is he going to handle that front squat bar is the big question for him absolutely and as we saw with event one with heat one sorry j really held that pace so he’ll be looking to do the same all athletes onto the 20 toes to Bar 100 total for this event and in Lane number one joros kavis an athlete that has a lot of experience here at the semi-final level and CrossFit Games and he is looking to try to make it back as C sitting in third overall as Victor Hofer in the bottom part of your screen goes rep forre with joros kavis joros made his rookie debut at the cross hit games in 20121 as Victor Hofer is looking very good on that front squat and anybody who doesn’t remember quarterfinals in 2023 had some heavy front squats with a lot of gymnastics and Victor Hofer actually had the fastest time in the world when it came to that so Victor Hopper looking very good after the first round of the second event with Fabi Bonito as georgees kavis staying Pace but one around is a lot different in that second round and Lucy we talked about is like all right we we had one day of competition but only one event longer event bit fatiguing at the runs in the cleaning jerks how are you feeling when you’re waking up this morning after that getting warmed up and prepped for this second event I mean you would hope that with the amount that these athletes train that they shouldn’t feel it too much I think they might feel it a little bit more after this workout with the amount of bounding you know 500 reps on double unders that’s no small amount um but again you know this is what these athletes train for so if they’re not prepared for that kind of volume then you know you’ve got to question that Victor Hofer unbroken for the second round in a row with a 100 double unders as he’s working his way to the toes jaar you hear the cheers because their Hometown hero Victor hofford just 21 years old it’s so interesting because it doesn’t look you watch Victor’s reps and they look slow they look very very smooth and one of the things about being so technical is that you make the hard stuff look easy you know box standard everyday athletes in your affiliate they would look at that and be like you’re doing 20 toasta bar and 20 toasta bar 100 reps in this workout that’s a lot of volume and yet it looks so fluid Victor Hofer bottom part of your screen and jordis Caris are basically rep for rep with fob and Bonito in third but let’s go down to laurren Smith with a little bit on Alex culis I am sorry Chase actually Giorgio who I wanted to talk about he’s had a 2023 filled with injuries his lower back and his ankle and he’s been having a bit of a strange year away from Crossfit there’s some stuff going on at home but his mentalities never give up he’s podiumed twice at the Fred Throwdown before and I know this competition means so much to him so to see him performing as well as he is in this heat and being out on the floor and not giving up that’s what’s so impressive about this performance so far jordis Caris Alex culis we got the Greek part right at least as jordis is trying to keep Pace with Victor Hofer and both athletes have yet to yield or show any chins in the Armor after two rounds Victor hopper for part of your screen two sets of the two rounds all unbroken on these 100 double unders as you can see yorgos kis in the very back in the green and black is fa medito on the right side and Lane number nine is sitting in third it’s really interesting to see actually where everyone’s ropes are where they’re skipping on those mats because some people clearly don’t really want to skip on the mats Victor Hopper’s rope is in front of the um the green mats that you’re seeing you see another athlete there Georgio Caris was off to the side so you can see where different athletes are sort of more comfortable doing their double unders or where they used to it’s a still race in Lane one and Lane 10 between Caris and Hofer and Lucy as you’re talking about that is part of that is because the starting matte material is a lot more Slicker and a bit harder than some athletes are used to if they’re used to training on rubber matting yeah exactly you know what you are doing your double unders on can have an impact on how that rope hits the floor I remember trying double unders on grass and I had an awful time it just you know with this volume you want to be as comfortable as possible and a first major lead change between Victor Hofer and yogos kavis as kavis in the top part of your screen has moved ahead and that is because kavis went unbroken on the toes ofar where hoofer is taking a looks like a deliberate break on those 20 toes to Bar yeah we’ll see how that pays off in these last two rounds cuz that’s where we started to see Jon you know make those breaks and uh struggle through those double unders as well Aris making his way back to the rig at the top part of your screen in Lane number 10 at the bottom Victor Hoffer rolls his far forward as Caris is getting back to his rope and chalking up before the Rope it’s not that he needs it for the Rope it’s that he doesn’t have to take that transition time to the rig for the toes ofar as he works into his fourth set of 100 toes double unders exactly it’s good to see both of them jogging back to that rope as well they’re clearly starting to make that push towards the last coup round oh Victor Hofer is having a little trouble with these double oners and Lucy I’m looking at the wrist straps and could that actually play a factor in just like catching the Rope sometimes um I think it’s one of those things that you train you know if you’re not used to it then maybe but it’s likely that Victor trains with it like that I personally am fine having it like that but I do know athletes that will make the conscious choice to twist their grips around so that they are not in the way necessarily yor care of this 29 years old representing Greece this is his fourth semifinal does have one event win in his career at semi-finals as he works into the four set of toes to bar and Victor Hofer for the first time in four rounds is struggling on these double unders it looks like the fourth break he’s had we’re in the first three rounds all of them were unbroken and the difference is as well it’s not breaks it’s trips so y was breaking whereas Victor is tripping which means that that’s not the intention here care this off the rig as Victor Hofer the bottom part of your screen gets to the rig just past the 8 Minute Mar here is chasing the time set by Yosi in Heat number one at 12241 and at the moment is on Pace to move ahead of that as Victor Hofer in Lane number 10 in the bottom part of your screen advances to the barbell just as Caris is done with his and he will advance the bar into the last section and make his way back to the rig he has 3 minutes and 20 seconds to best that time of Yosi and you can see in the back Alex culis is starting to make his way into third place in this heat as Caris picks up his rope for the fifth [Applause] time cunas is looking very strong on those front squs three to go but stilling on to carav this the end of the gamees twice you can see him having a look around as well to see where everyone else is it’s a it’s a good skill to have being able to double under and just kind of scan the floor to see where you’re at and this is his head is he looks very very relaxed another unbroken set of his $100 this the final round pass the 10-minute Mark just over two minutes until you hit the time set by Yosi as Caris is extending his lead on the rest of the field in this second heat two more Heats to go as car is done unbroken again for another 100 double hunners unen Caris working his way to the bar last set of 20 toes to Bar starting to lap the field at the moment second lead after the fourth round you look at the bottom right side of your screen was Victor Hofer it looks like he’s doing much better on this set of double unders and as I say that he’s taking a big break as carav this it’s just smashing these toes to bar and I don’t think he’s broke once in any round yet here he and as we’re at the 11 minut Mark he’s got a minute and 20 seconds bottom left corner of your screen Yona kosi in Heat number one 1220 41 Caris sitting in 30th Place 29th Place after event number one is looking to set the new time to beat here in Heat number two final 10 front squats 225 lb 50 total reps performance in test number two with see that pace start to slow down but it looks like it’s going to be good for beating yoski score he’s got loads of time got to Sprint across the Finish Line a little quicker than that you are not in the final heat but Caris will take the Heat and set the new time to beat as the second Greek athlete is moving in ahead of Victor Hofer as Alice culis in the center lane is looking to possibly beat the time by Yosi he has three reps to go but 10 seconds to do [Applause] it bar down cross the finish line should be good enough these Greek athletes got to stop walking across the Finish Line it’s stressing me out Victor Hopper will be done but that’ll be behind the time of Yosi it’s un official playe number four Lucas rising out of Crosset [Applause] [Applause] chanas Bobby and Beno 30th place to start now one to go for should be good for fifth in this heat but times from the previous heat will be starting to fall into play asosi was 1220 Cale Clemens was 1253 and Tobias Fox was 1317 so times from heat one are now starting to affect placing here in Heat number two the line 3023 on official and here comes n Victor Nicholas Ser alus in Lane number seven that’s a solid Tash next to him in Lane number eight is Victor heleno at a cross at Oslo as Sarah leotus will finish just ahead as we are at the 14 minute Mark 18 minutes is the cap two athletes left on the floor that is Chevy Sarah out of CrossFit Jona working through his last set of 20 toes to bar and Lucy we look at the performance that yorgos just put up it looked like he went unbroken end to end on everything two Heats left to go you see that you see the time does that not neily change the way you’re going to approach the event but does it at least give you a little bit of inside of what it’s going to take to do well yeah for sure I wouldn’t say that it you know changes how you would do it but it does add a little bit of pressure that if you do want to do well that might be the kind of approach that you take you know on a lot of the transitions back he was running back towards or jogging let’s say back towards the Rope um so you know then it’s about okay if I want to go faster can I do some slow jogs to the bar rather than only back from the bar because obviously as we go through those rounds and you transition that bar further down the floor that transition to the bar gets longer and longer each time until so that actually does become a factor in terms of your [Applause] timing Bon re across the finish line for Sarah as we had one athlete left on the floor all right ladies and gentlemen RAR marwitz working to his final 10 front squats as uh yogos carabis looks fully recovered and doing post press interviews Moritz wins the award of hardest name to pronounce in the men’s field which I affectionally like to call [Applause] mg as he is trying to get underneath that 18-minute cap with a few reps left to go and some athletes make this look light this is more the reality of the situation of this weight for 50 total reps and I think that’s also the impact of the uh toast bar volume you know seeing that curved uper backat congratulations to your heat winner un official results Yos Caris sending the new time to beat at 11:42 Alex culis just underneath that 1220 mark from Yona kosi hoer out early very consistent unbroken comfortable on the double Runners as well as the toes to bar but it was after the first couple of rounds fell off a little bit Yeah and we started to see Caris take over in that sense smooth and unbroken throughout really good squat Pace as well managed to resist the temptation to pause at the top of each rep then round four I think it was we started to see those trips from Hofer those mistakes start to creep in and that allowed Caris to extend that lead and pull away to finish Caris hting a new time to beat here in Heat number two 11 minutes 42 seconds 49 as we have two Heats down two Heats left to go as heat three coming up next [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] two Heats down two Heats to go here at the French Throwdown in LD cell Arena and it is starting to pack the house I’m chasing sing with Lucy Campbell Lauren Smith will be joining us on the floor as we get set for individual men event two Heat number three five rounds per time 100 double unders 20 toes toar 10 front squats at 225 no one’s needed the 18-minute cap yet and we don’t think anybody will go up steps to success so we’re looking at relax and unbroken through those toas bar and double unders so that we can hold that strong squat Pace on the front squats and reduce that time attention through the midline you’re laying assignments for Heat number three Borman Carl Goodmanson sitting in Lane number eight is attempting to do something no one has done in the individual CrossFit Games era and that’s qualify for 11 straight CrossFit Games we’ve had athletes that have been to 11 Ben Smith went to 11 in a row but got that invite in 2019 19 but bkg 10 straight not the only one Cole Sager out of the West will also be trying to do something that has never been done before 10 athletes will be chasing the time to beat of 1142 49 set by joras kis in Heat number two win a cross it World Tour visiting Crosset gyms around the globe create an account scan the QR code or visit hustle up- app.com to enter that’s it draw will take place on June 20th 2024 two Heats down two Heats to go and we went and talked about bkg who’s been in the sport forever in his success but another athlete that is needs to get mentioned is actually Harry Lightfoot at a blueprint CrossFit yeah Harry’s been on the come up in the last couple of years he had a really good quarterfinals placement last year um and then I think probably didn’t live up to what he wanted to do at the semis um this year he’ll be looking to redeem that sure working a first set of 100 double oners I would say I’d like to bring this man into the booth but Mr OE manb thanks for being here buddy thanks for having me Chase been Are Taking Over Me Lucy talking about Harry here we are sitting here I feel like I’m an I’ve never been outnumbered before this much uh especially in the booth but olly you obviously you work deep with the affiliate side here for the international team and know being here at the French Throwdown seeing these people come out in drows for this competition what’s it mean to you guys as far as being able to host this semi-final event yeah I think um you know CrossFit was uh later turn to pick up traction and speed outside of the us obviously and uh since we started kind of really taking it on I guess 2011 2012 we really picked up it’s just been snowballing the momentum has been amazing and I think every year when we get to do this this is like our opportunity to showcase just how much the sport is growing here yeah and um yeah it’s it’s an honor to have you here Chase show you how it’s done right you know it’s always great to come over here I it’s just so exciting and like you said is that you know you see the same excitement enthusiasm as what the states had in those like early 2014 to 2018 years and now it’s blossoming here internationally as athletes work for their first round into their second top athletes in this heat working there into their second round of 100 double ERS in you know Ali speaking more towards the affiliate Community right we know the competition scene is exciting there’s the rise of more athletes from different countries before is monopolized a little bit from specific areas but on the affiliate side is you see that same excitement and growth on the affiliate Department yeah 100% I I was just about to say actually the um I think what’s beautiful about Europe in particular is different countries will um adopt CrossFit at different stages so as an example the UK and Ireland and Scandinavia actually discovered CrossFit fairly early early on um not too far behind the US and so you see the emerg emergence of of CrossFit in those countries but what we’ve found in the last couple years is France in particular Spain uh parts of Eastern Europe is just exploding just going crazy and um it’s it’s beautiful to see kind of the ripple effect and just kind of these little pockets all over Europe just kind of picking up steam but also been able to build and maintain that momentum as well which has been really cool and we definitely seen that with I mean not just the Spanish athletes who like teams and individuals are just flooding onto the scene in semi-finals but as you said on the a in the affiliate Community as well hand in the air second round toes toar 20 reps as athletes will make their way to the bar and leading is Michael weselowski blue shorts Lane three coming through made the games last year out of the European semi-final just to his left anol aai out of CrossFit serut as weselowski will advance his bar four with a Kai just behind him gon Bon multiple Time games athlete out of CrossFit Kos a little bit behind the pace of your top three athletes as your top three or four you’ve got three games athletes with bkg Michael weslowski and G ban obviously getting that some of that Hometown fan fandom I was going to say actually maybe a question for Lucy do you um obviously there’s a French of athletes here looking G them here on the screen do you um think that HomeField advantage and and and performing in front of a a home crowd is a positive or A negative I was watching Victor in the last Heat and um I couldn’t help like you you know there’s excitement and the crowd and they’ve got the drums and this whole box and his community is which is amazing but I couldn’t help but feel the pressure of that as well do do feel it is a positive or negative or is a bit of both 100% is completely on the athlete you know whether they’re or not they deem it as being a source of support or a source of pressure is down to how they perceive that you know you could think oh my God everyone’s behind me what a great thing and use that as a positive momentum to take you through at the same time you could think oh everyone is expecting this of me and see that as a negative and that could actually be something that holds you back if you perceive it as pressure rather than support yeah I guess um that’s part of bkg success over the years we talked about him kind of going back to back 11 years obviously there’s always a huge Icelandic contingent at these events and um you know that he’s definitely being able to harness that and use it to his Advantage rather than let it him and I think probably that’s what you’ve seen some of the younger athletes right they they they maybe feel like there’s more expectation on him someone like Victor kind of new on the sport there’s a lot of hype around him like I can’t I can’t begin to imagine what that pressure is like right yeah expectation is pressure but one person who is feeding off not the hometown crowd is weselowski who’s leading this heat more on him let’s go down to Lauren yeah mihow was one of the surprise packages of this time last year B his ticket to the games coming at 36 but not that you would know from watching him out on the floor but his lower body was one of his biggest weaknesses so that’s been a massive Focus for him over the course of the year he said he’s dealing with the new found f of being a CrossFit Games athlete as he always would just being totally down to earth he says he’s still Michael from Elk and Crossfit still like a game the game is joy and I love my life I mean I I I love being first place too so I can’t can’t blame him as we’re past the seven minute Mark moving into the fourth round of double unders the Carl Goodman in Lane number eight 10 time cross at games athlete eight of those 10 were inside the top 10 with five in the top five he’s actually on a hot streak of eight consecutive top 10 finishes where last year he had uh dealing with a little bit of an injury that just had a Miss outside the top 10 for the first time in 8 years yeah and I think when you look at obviously what he had to do on that uh Max snatch and cleaning jerk last year in terms of managing that back injury and put that in the context of the fact that he still only just finished outside of the top 10 that to me is almost as impressive bkg in the right with salowski on the left still leading in this heat olly obviously you work at the affiliate side we know the sport the question is that blend between the two right that like you said both sides building each other up what are some of the things you look forward to to the future with both of those well I think one of the most beautiful things about a weekend like this is the sport gathers the community together there’s nothing else in the community that that kind of exists that pulls together The Spectators and the members of the Box the affiliate owners the athletes but also let’s not forget the coaches okay and and the education side of CrossFit I think like I said there’s there’s not another moment in time where you can gather this many amount of CrossFit is all in one place and uh the sport and the athletes are what people come for they attract the eyeballs but when we have people here it’s an opportunity to celebrate everything else outside of just the sport like the the Affiliates like the the coaches well you see that too because because you see that once this event is over at the end of the day nobody’s leaving everybody’s hanging around feeding with their gyms their coaches trainers that maybe did their level ones and that and I think that speaks more to that communal experience here that the sport helps like you said curate and congeal which is that that unique bond between those two different facets yeah 100% And then the the enthusiasm from this weekend people will take that back to their boxes right and it was infectious gives everybody just LIF and I think um we talk about this a lot with affiliate owners they they do their level one it changes their life they get super excited they feel like they’re ready to run for a wall they go back to their gym and then maybe they don’t come back and interact with Crossfit if they don’t come to an event they don’t do another training course they go back to their own communities in their own box and I think again this is an opportunity the events and bringing people together to bring them closer back to cross it remind them of why they fell in love with it you now get them excited give them the energy to then go back to their box you and transfer it to their members and their coaches that’s a little bit of a spark out here is that what we have with the sport not a little bit big Spar big Spar top four weselowski who had looked pretty smooth the first four rounds but we’ve seen that fifth round sneaks up on a lot of athletes even the best ones time to beat bottom left corner of your screen jorus CIS 1142 as Waki Works to the toas to bar for the last time and you just saw that little look that little deep sigh before he jumped up there Lucy from a from an athlete perspective when you’re looking at this workout like what what sort of attributes in an athlete are you looking for that it’s going to be successful when you’re trying to have to pick out an athlete and think yeah this is going to be their workout you mean in terms of stature or in terms of skill set all of it I guess I mean I think it’s uh glute size yeah simple as solid legs Chase notes it’s just like you look at race horses that’s going to be the fast and yet at the same time we’re seeing the athletes really struggle on the double unders so I do think that obviously that traditional Fitness that cardiovascular fitness is also a big part of this when you’re spending a minute on double unders if you’re staying unbroken every time where salowski 20 seconds away it’s going to be close hand in the air five reps left to go 42 is the time to beat wowski 12 seconds two reps one one more to go now this is where you got to Race Across the finish line and that should do it unofficially boy cut it close towards the end on that last round but should be good enough to take and set the new time to [Applause] beat light foot sprinting across the floor so Harry Lightfoot sitting in 11th overall currently one spot out of the qualifying position as we just found out all but maybe a week ago that this European semi-final is going to get 10 spots at the cross it games for both men and women and that might sneak under yosi’s time in Heat number one so that could be good enough for fourth place and three horse race for third place between bkg sports feig and anola Kai oh this is tight it’s going to be a Kai Follow by feig and bkg don’t know what happened on that last set of toaster bar on bkg but he was not having a good time what a by third gin Carl goodmon sitting in 16th Place overall and that is Fernando cardos out of CrossFit gues in the center lane but he’s got two more there with them Spen gain in the right side of your screen as well as Lane number four in the middle en Rico Zenon be your and Zenon will cross the finish line and no shirt he heard me he heard me yesterday thank you enrio for everyone you want to see the rig Chase Hey listen I want to see what’s physically possible that I am just not capable of sometimes and and it’s more about just moving barbells Mig Hansen crosses the finish line and beon the depth is crazy what we’ve got four four five six maybe G competitors in this heat in this heat and it’s the third heat yeah yon the uniform kits you’re seeing on the field of plays provided by Northern Spirit unlock 15% of your order at Northerns spirit-crushing [Applause] to hear the crowd a little bit of mixed emotions in the in the competition Flor this is what I love right I don’t love just all claps and high fives give me the booze oh I guess over here it’s the whistles right give me the American booze and the European whistles his his hiss that’s right beon Bon and this is where we see come up a couple times for these athletes this though people might make it look heavy or or easy look that 225 is absolutely no joke at this volume of reps coupled with the toar coupled with the double unders and guon Rion who’s seventh out of quarter finals and he was sitting at 12 overall is going to take a hit as as we’ve seen some of these top games athletes all kind of Punt one into the stand so far in these first two events as Michael wizowski will set the new time to beat just by three seconds at 1139 Geor goes care of his time of 11:42 will stand strong for seconds as Harry lightfit 128 and noai out early yeah and then to be fair to him started to see that strong finish as well so he just had that bit of a dip in the middle nice and smooth on those to about as always and then we saw wowski pull through towards the end and then it was just him getting further and further ahead and obviously super tight towards the end as to whether or not he could beat Caris to score but he managed to hold on and get that top spot try and hold on for the last Heat new time to be 11:39 Hearts to the family from weselowski olly thank you so much thank you so much just for being here but for everything you do for this community for the Affiliates and for the sport I really appreciate you and uh enjoy your win this year in the opening quarterfinals cuz next year I’m whooping your ass heat three is done final heat is coming up for the men [Music] [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Viva LEF France home of the 2024 European semifinal as we in the brand new ldlc Arena I’m Chase Hing with Lucy Campbell and Lauren Smith three Heats down one heat left to go but your standings after event number one ulis upix sitting on top of the leaderboard with 100 points as your top 10 are the 10 spots that this European semi-final will get to the crosshit games event number two five rounds per time 100 double hunners 20 toes of bar 10 front squats at 225 and Lucy you’ve seen three Heats go how are we looking at these go rut steps success so far so we’re looking for Rel relax and unbroken on those double unders and toaster Barts so that we can hold a strong squat Pace on the front squats and reduce that time and attention through the midline top 10 so far in this heat as we see the jukic brothers Lane six and Lane seven not only are they back together again as far as training’s concerned they’ve been competed together for a very long time and now they are side by side sitting in a qualifying spot yeah and it was a similar position in 2022 Luca lost it on the last event and obviously they were both heartbroken pulled out with illness the following year as well so this year they’ll be looking to you know have a positive result with both of them going to the games and there’s no one that wants Luca to make it more than Lazar for sure Rel they have heartbroken for him in 2022 10 seconds top 10 athletes coming into the weekend after one event fin number individual win a cross it World Tour visiting cross it gyms around the globe create an account scan the QR code or visit hustle up- app.com to enter drawing will take place on June 20th 2024 and Lucy we’re talking about the jukic brothers with Lazar and Luca but another Luca in this heat Luca vunak sitting third overall had a great open and a great start to the weekend and moreon Luka vunak let’s go down to Lauren Smith I feel like people might be a bit surprised to see him up in this top heat I’m not surprised it was just off the back of that running workout because that’s where I think even to his coaches he pulls off something special you’ve already mentioned he was fourth in the worldwide open and he’s finished ninth and 14th in the last two semi-finals he’s always been on that cuss and he’s doing it for the athletes that have part-time and full-time jobs he’s not a full-time athlete he coaches in his gym up to S hours a day he barely makes any money and I know that he’s been working with John Pro uh from the program John Singleton and over the last year he’s just seen his CrossFit go from strength to strength and they all believe that he’s an opportunity to take one of those later places and book his first ever ticket to the CrossFit Games he’s in an absolutely stacked heat as we are in the fourth and final heat Lazar juk in the center party your screen getting to the barbell first in close Pace with him above in the gray shorts is Luca vunak oldis upix Luca jukic have joined them as well as Colin bosard white shirt gray shorts as all athletes are on their first round of front squats and Lucy we’ve seen this for three events now as Luca vunak actually has to get called back because he did not Advance his bar which opened the door back to Lazar JIS but we’ve seen three rounds seem to be okay fourth round gets a bit real but the Fifth Fifth and Final Round is what these athletes should be preparing themselves for because physically is one thing but understanding what it’s going to feel like and accepting that is another exactly and it seems to be that you know that heart rate Spike from the double unders is the thing that’s really starting to kind of catch people out you can feel it as you go through you know 50 double Enders for elite athletes absolutely fine and then as soon as you start to go towards the kind of 70 to 100 Mark that’s where you start to feel your heart rate Spike every round but then you know every time you brace on those front squats the impact that that has on your heart rate and then going into the double unders from those front squats it seems to be really catching people out Lazar jits on the right followed by a superx and Luca vunak now Luka vunak was actually in the lead after the first heat but had a misstep of rolling his bar forward once you’re done with your 10 squats you got to roll the bar forward and he ran back and here and if we get tight races at the end like we saw in the previous heat those 5 to six seconds there could come into play yeah he’s going to kick himself with that at the same time you know it’s then trying not to panic when you’re going into those double unders and seeing again that spike in heart rate purely because of that Panic so trying to stay composed now that he has made that mistake is really important Luca vunak fourth in the worldwide open goad is the official Mobility partner of the Cross hit games take your Mobility test Mobility to the next level with goad’s personalized program and take advantage of the 14-day free trial to start your journey second round of front squats just on the right side of your screen HRI Hinrich calinan who’s been second at semi-finals the last two years and just seems to be one of those quiet steady non- flashy European male athletes but are actually F have fantastic success at the semi-final level 100% he’s a bit of a bkg in that sense just pretty consistent always there but you know doesn’t necessarily get the recognition or have those like flash pan moments two rounds done third round 100 double unders all these athletes are now chasing the time to beat set in Heat number three by Michael weselowski at 11398 4 and in the white Colin bosard who just missed out by one spot last year is trying to make his bid for his his first CrossFit Games and More on him let’s go down to Lauren Smith he is indeed trying to make his bid for the CrossFit Games he’s doing it after having a really bad back injury in December he wasn’t even sure if he was going to compete this season but he felt it had healed just enough as he headed into the open which he did a couple of the workouts with on the women’s side Miriam vanro who did another great open herself these two come out of Switzerland they’re really flying the flag for that nation and he pinpointed event number two and three as two that is going to be his strongest over the course of the entire weekend so fingers Frost for Colin it’s only going to go up from here Colin bostard as you said missed the games last year by just 16 points got first and quarterfinal event 24.2 that was the three rounds of 50 wall ball shots and burpees over the box is Luca vunak is H just ahead of Lazar jukic Lazar jukic winning the 2023 CrossFit semifinals here in Europe as bosard and oldis opix now joining your top two athletes in this heat round number three of five 10 squats 225 Luka vunak your leader on the left rolling his bar forward lzo on the right just behind him buus uix slowing a bit on his last couple of reps he’s your leader after the first event as Luca juk on the right side of screen is making his way to the bar for his fourth round of front squats starting round number four lunak on the left lar jits on the right 100 double unders 300 double unders in and Lucy 100 is a is a pretty large set if you don’t train them and if you don’t train them these five rounds that’s going to add up and we’ve seen that not necessar like the physical demands of this but the fatigue maybe affecting the mental side of that we taking big breaks and you say it’s like hey it’s just a double under we don’t need that big of a break like we’re doing a 225 front spot yeah you know but it’s about keeping that concentration because although athletes should be pretty familiar with high volume double unders but it is that chance where you can just switch off and it’s not necessarily that you switch off during the actual set but if you trip before you pick up the Rope those are the times where you start to see you know a two second break turn into a 5-sec break and all of a sudden then someone has picked it up before you lunak still in the lead this is the fourth round of five fourth heat time to be 1139 84 set by Michael walowski in the previous heat now yon aosi who was your Open winner quarterfinal winner taking that 34th Place finish he was all the way back in Heat number one he still has a top five time however in this event as LCA vunak is working his way to the bar for the fourth time just past the 8 Minute mark BAC working his way to his front squats two reps in ulis upix is now moved ahead of blazar jukich so oldis made a move on the toes Saar we saw his front squats were a little bit slower in the third round and we’ll see if Lazar jukic can catch him as Luka vunak gets a no RP still advancing his bar Henri haal in right side of screen now in the mix trying to keep Pace with L Lazar jukic and oldis oix is moving forward of Lazar so it look actually a much better set for Alis on that round yeah for sure you can just see that little pause at the top of every rep on the first few reps and then he starts to get into it but you know if as you said with the double unders 2 seconds turn into 5 seconds and the impact of that little pause over the first four reps can start to add up and that’s where and now we start to see that happen there for LCA vunak took a break and then that’s a that’s a tough one where it Clips the heel and rips the Rope handle out of your hands you don’t feel more rookie than when that happens so Luka vunak just lost himself about five or six seconds there as his belt is starting to come off and now gets in the way of his rope he’s not kicked that far enough out the way either so Luca vunak a little bit of self sabotage on this last round as we approaching the 10 minute Mark oldest uix has yet to break once and he might be closing the gap on vunak boun’s curse there it is say they going and broken and then they break you know what it’ll be interesting to see whether or not vonnak makes a decision to put that belt back on I wouldn’t be surprised if he does but it would be a risky thing to try and win the event if he doesn’t is done right behind him is Alis and you’re right he’s not even going to grab the belt uix wasted no time to the rig he may as well have grabbed the belt if he made that decision to chalk so oldis suix gets a no rep he made a big move on the fourth set of toar Lazar jukic still in third actually HRI haalan might be close but Luca vunak who’s been basically leading since the first round had a all but disastrous fifth round of double Runners and it barely had anything to do with his skill and it had to do with things getting in the way and is off vunak is off we got a foot race oldis is building up now Luca vunak did not bring it with him and we have a 10 rep Race For the Win no rep for vunak time to beat 1139 set by weselowski in the previous heat five Reps for oldis on the right Luca vunak is trying to run him down one final rep for oldis and make it back to back oldis opix wins event number [Applause] two HRI haalan three reps left to go he’s actually ahead of Lazar jukic who is falling off the pace and hopal and basically doing what we said he does this is quietly taking a top three finish in this heat blar jit one rep left to go be good enough for a top five time maybe top six and so of the times in the previous Heats are coming into play yell hosta in lane two top part of your screen in the blue trying to catch Colin bosard at the bottom and it looks like yosta has moved just ahead so yell hosta who just made about as big of a splash as you can make oh bosard closed in on him and we’ve got some races here and Lucy I don’t have the official times yet between oldis and vunak but it looks like they were only separated by two seconds and you look at rope getting pulled out of your hands on the double Enders the belt falling off and tripping you up and then the misstep of the bar rolling forward losing by two seconds but you can’t really be too mad about a second place finish however knowing first place was there and had nothing to do with your Fitness for sure and especially if if uh bunac has any kind of weakness events coming up he’s going to want to protect himself as much as possible for that so you know that difference in second to First could come into play later down the [Music] line it’s also interesting because that difference in seconds could actually have been the impact of having a tighter midline because of the support of a belt as [Music] well front part of your screen is rookie NAA maerad Michael Smith above him Michael Smith One Time games athletes trying to make it back had a good day yesterday lent as he’ll get across the Finish Line at 1339 as na just behind him and Luca jukic is last on the floor as we are at the 14-minute Mark and we had heard yesterday that you know Lazar was actually in the first heat based off his qualification coming out a quarter finals and had finished the event and went to find Luca to try to tell him about the Run course and how to Pace it out and Coach him up a little bit but Luca not the Finish he was hoping to build upon after the first [Applause] event and one athlete remaining on the floor and that was your other rookie in this heat that’s Mark Carmona so you had two rookies in the top 10 at their first semifinals Mark was one of them Marco Mona and another one of those Spanish athletes on the men’s side with his semi-final debut three reps remaining before he hit the 18 minute cap we had a wild finish with oldis upix and Luca vunak as both were under the time to beat coming in set by Michael weselowski [Applause] [Music] and Carmona just doing everything he can to get through this last set of 20 toes to bar and a no rep for Carmona three reps left to go for him two minutes left and that’s that midline fatigue every rep is a struggle they see that a lot of times you see that where the straight knees and pointed toes turns into the bent knees and extended toes and the little hitch in the middle of the kip doing everything you can to get those toes to the ball and Arona slowly making his way towards the last 10 reps on these front squats 225 on the bar 50 total Reps for this [Applause] event mark carota 28 years old at of cross hit Euro the coaches and Friends cheering him on on the side one minute remaining just trying to hold on as he had just one more rep to go oh come on just squat clean it and you see with the Grimace on his face oh oh that was cold not necessarily wrong no that’s a good call come on there you go stand it up there we go get off across the line oh he’s hurting suix takes the heat takes the Heat and takes the event this is actually oldis ubic’s seventh event or sorry sixth career event win that has toes to bar in it so we think running might be a secret to event win it’s to Saar as well so we saw Luca vnac with that early lead but then that mistake with the round one transition on the barbell neck and neck with Lazar and all the super Nicks the whole way tight races throughout which is really good to see and then that belt issue getting in the way with those double unders the chalking on the transition which then gave Alis a chance to get straight up on the bar and ultimately that was a thing that saw him carry on through that no rep as well on rep one was super costly for Luc vnac and left Alis a chance to cross the line first Alix takes the heat takes the event backto back wins to start the weekend he’s down with Lauren Smith old you have four semifinal event wins to your name two of them in the last two days what on Earth did you do in the offseason training but yeah I was expecting this win like more than yesterday’s because I knew if I hold like unbroken sets I can catch the guys who are doing like faster double unders or a toaster bar on the front squats so basically like yesterday fourth and last round I just hold at the same speed or a little bit faster and managed to get the win a great battle between yourself and Luca vunak obviously he had a little bit of an issue with his belt and then he went for the chalk did you see that as an opportunity or were you in your own pacing in your own world oh yeah I was just holding behind them as close as I can so I know in the last round I will have the chance to beat them when we went to the bar I didn’t know if I can win or not you know because I got also won or on the fronos but still managed to win you have had a fabulous start to your competition we can’t wait to see more thank you very much thank you thank you guys wellis suix two for two to start day number two as the men are done the women are next here for the 2024 European semi-final [Music] e e e e e e e e e e [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] don’t [Music] [Music] minutes let’s see now what our women have in store pretty efficient double unders all over the floor down here in Lane numbers one and two are two teenage athletes 17 years old both athletes already qualified in the AG groups for the CrossFit Games Your Leader so far is in Lane number six just back here at the French Throwdown for the 2024 European semifinal here in ldlc Arena as two Heats of women done we’re going to get to our last two Heats I’m chasing with Lucy Campbell Laurence Smith will be joining us shortly as event number two it is the women’s turn as the men started this morning five rounds per time 100 double oners 20 toes of bar 10 front wats at 155 lbs and Lucy You’ seen the men go two he to women any changes to your step of success I think still relaxed through the double unders and toaster bar but I think we’re more like to see a quick break on the toaster bar but that strong squat Pace stays really important you’re laying assignments for this third heat couple of games bets in here but it’s no easy road to get to semi-finals and Connie EBY has had anything but that but she is here in Lane number five and four on her let’s go down to Lauren Smith so far Connie e has made an incred incredible impression on dve taking 11th in yesterday’s run but 5 years ago she was in a psychiatric unit having been admitted for a mental health disorder this girl is nothing short of phenomenal she used crossfir as motivation for getting her life back on track learning how to have a relationship with food again and 5 years later she’s at the top of the European sport how exciting for and what an inspiration to other women who look to those Role Models Connie will in be in that center lane she’s sitting in 11th overall just one spot out of a qualifying position after one event 83 is underway win a CrossFit World Tour visiting CrossFit gyms around the globe create an account scan the QR code or visit hustle up- app.com to enter drawings will take place on June 20th 2024 as we get into our first round of 100 toes to bar now five toal round to this and we’ve seen a drastic difference between round one and round two Linda keesman sitting in 16th overall has been knocking on the door of her first trip to cross the games 11th in 2022 13th in 2023 Howard with l spots this year than ever at the European semifinal she is going to have to be pretty Flawless in her execution try to get to the Crosset games for the first time yeah absolutely she’s made some big changes to her training recently you know she’s joined with the training think tag team they’ve got so much caliber in this kind of um Elite field and she also moved on from her job at fita Aid and became a full-time athlete so really doing everything that she can to focus all her efforts on qualifying for the games as a Wom in their first set of 20 toes of bar joining us in the move is G gar hul as we uh we talked yesterday during the uh the first event where we we talked a lot about the fatigue levels between movements and I think this one in particular and I’d love your inside on this is what we’ve seen in the last two rounds on the double unders and that fatigue level what are you seeing when you’re you’re watching this take place yeah first of all I think the athletes will will know quickly if they recovered well from yesterday’s workout all right so uh yeah I think the the double unders um are clearly yeah it’s it’s it’s very much um it’s it’s very important for the athletes to to keep going on the double unders I mean uh you saw three hod really going super quick in the in the double unders and obviously that uh would help her going into the second second place at least in the second heat Alisa Fano is well ahead of the rest of the field by about 15 seconds Luci filano down in Lane number 10 and for Alisa right and you talked about the speed that t was going and Lucy and I were actually having a conversation of you know you see a lot of people trying to stay relaxed on the devil ERS where T was doing quite the opposite but it looked like that was more her Cadence than anything but as far as how to stay relaxed or push the pace what would be your advice on that it depends on the atlete I mean she was jumping only two three four CM above the ground and she was very very efficient in her movement so if you’re an athlete who is good at petric so really this quick uh ground to to to contact force I think it’s it’s a better um yeah strategy for for you as an athlete but you also saw athletes who did well in the the previous two events uh Heats they were actually jumping a little bit higher start being a bit more relaxed so it really depends on the athlete and this is uh individually uh focused as a as a coach and and this is I think the the Beauty and the Art of coaching to to understand your athlete and to know what is most efficient for your athlete let’s Fano bottom right side of your screen your current leader taking a break on that set of toab bar been to the games twice in 22 and 23 see Lane number two Andrea Solberg who qualified for the online games in 2020 and usually known for her gymnastics not so much her strengths but she’s has been working on that a lot these last couple of years to try to get back to the Crosset games in person yeah for sure it’s clearly been a big Focus for Andrea recently and like you know strength doesn’t come quickly it’s been a long-term thing a long-term game for working on that strength and you have you really have see it you know you see it on Instagram athletes posting their list all the time and there has been a massive Improvement for Andrea she also obviously did really well at Dubai there was a similar kind of event in Dubai with the front squats and the volume of front squats so it might actually work to her benefit that this isn’t a one rep max strength event but it is more of a kind of strength endurance event on the squats yeah Andre Andreas soberg taking seventh in the event that you’re talking about second overall at the fittest championship in Dubai Lisa Fano still holding on to her lead these uniform kits you’re seeing on the field of player provided by Northern Spirit unlock 15% off your order at Northern Spirit Das sport.com use the code CrossFit semifinals at checkout Alisa filana two-time games athlet has battled injuries and some chronic issues I think she had what diagnosis of maybe like arthritis a couple years ago Where She Went full in on training and still getting better every single year and if you look at her skill sets good gymnastics surprisingly good power from her this event seem to set up well for that skill set yeah I agree I mean this this event if I if I looked at it from from the beginning I was thinking yeah well there smaller athletes who can cycle as Lucy said the the barall really quickly and it looks like Alisa is really putting down the the gas pedal and and see if she can hold on Le Fano still in the lead as we’re approaching the six minute Mark and Lane number four Emma McQuade five appearances at the CrossFit Games little bit banged up last year but as she’s one of the the older competitors in the field at 34 oh we saw the camera knocked her uh Matt out of the way but I mean we just saw in the previous heat M the GU 39 years old and we’ve seen that success we talk a lot about the the youth in the sport growing and get into the games but the longevity of some of these air is just as impressive for sure and I think that goes to speak to you know how these athletes train obviously Emma was Emma is coached by James JY JY also coached Sam Briggs and we know how long Sam Briggs lasted and I think you know Emma will definitely be looking to go as long as she can doing this and still enjoy it Emma mcade finishing up toes to Bar as you see Alisa Fano she’s finishing up her last set right about the 643 Mark now she’s chasing the time to beat set by Claudia Gluk at 1140 Gluk was done at 6:32 so Alysa is behind the pace by Claud as Andrea soberg is trying to finish out her third set of front squats andar we look at these three movements in particular the double unders here we talk bounding as one but still there’s some midline taxation with the rebounding and then the shoulder fatigue and grip and then you go to toes dear even more midline taxing on t the interior side and grip and then you got the front squats which just seems to be those two movements are just setting your front squat I want to say up for failure but it’s definitely all these things working together almost battling each other as far as how to manage that fatigue yeah that’s the art of programming and certainly for such big big competitions it’s it’s trying to fatigue a certain muscle group and see which which athletes are actually the best in in withstanding that I would say here also when you see the the front squads the people who or the the women here uh for for at home course front squatting actually the best they’re just going just below parallel and they they have no um additional movements so their efficiency is much better than certain athletes so you can have a look at that when there’s a closeup this Fano you’re leader as you pass the eight minute mark five reps left to go she’ll move on to her toes toar with fiana let’s go down to Lauren Smith another athlete with an incredible backstory she was worried that she wouldn’t even be able to continue in the sport 3 years ago because of her her rheumatoid arthritis last year she told me that was largely cured and thanks to her good diet and nutrition and training in this sport now she’s a ux designer and she’s been pretty much full-time in that taking time off for the last couple of years until last week where she officially became a full-time athlete it’s really interesting her approach to testing all these workouts she didn’t want to get the fear so she broke them up into eoms which I don’t think I’d heard before but it’s obviously working for Lane number 10 at least Fano at least Fano five reps left to go it’s a funny it’s a funny thing talking about the fear because some athletes find it good to really know how everything’s going to feel and it makes them feel very prepared there’s no shocks when all of a sudden something starts to kick in a little bit more than what they thought equally some athletes will then actually get nervous about feeling how painful it’s going to be and so then they hold back a little bit more Alano is behind the pace by Claudia Gluk so Claudia GL was actually done with this round at 94 so look’s time looks to hold at least for another heat but Andrea Solberg is closing that gap between her and Fano Fano getting back to the bar bottom of your screen in Lane number 10 Andrea SRI at the top in Lane number two in the white top black pants she’ll roll her bar forward Ward as three other women are trying to keep Pace with your top two between Linda keesman Emma McQuade and Conor EBY goar now this is the the magic round I I put that in quotes is where we’ve seen people absolutely drop off the pace we talked about the overall fatigue your lungs almost playing with your head a bit and and what is that what is that fatigue level that is manifesting here on the double under yeah it depends on the the timing right so you have different energy systems that provide the muscles energy and the first maybe 30 seconds of any workout it’s pure we call this my favorite part of the workout by the way yeah favorite part uh it’s it’s called Pure alactic so you have you have no um yeah byproducts building up and you feel you feel fine you can produce a lot of power but then after a couple minutes two three minutes there’s anerobic system so without any Oxygen that are kicking in to pro to provide the power to the to the athlete and yeah you feel this after four to five to six minutes and that’s exactly where we at now and then the fatigue will will kick in and you also mentally you know you still have quite some rounds to go is a very important factor here fulano done with her 100 double hunners just behind her all the way over in Lane number two here comes Andrea soberg time to beat bottom left corner of your screen 1140 59 that looks safe for now by Claudia Gluk and Heat number two julo sitting in 20th overall after the first event yesterday takes a look over right shoulder to see if Andrea is still creeping the answer is yes getting closer as well those transitions onto the bar I mean Andrea stopped to talk so we’ll see how that plays out but generally elisso squat Pace has been a little bit faster as well Fano now running to her bar knowing she needs to put as much distance between her Andrea SRI as possible as here comes srig in the back part of screen as fanos get two reps ahead now make it three approaching the 12-minute mark the best time to beat has already passed so fulano is just trying to at least get the top time in her heat as fion has one rep left to go and that’ be good enough across the finish line for a time of [Applause] 1207 Brana will take Heat number three not the best time we’ve seen so far Andrea suberg second as Emma McQuade outside just to her right has gotten to the barbell as well and suberg it’s got to hold on cuz McQuade is charging hard on those last 10 front squats soberg will be done right around 12:30 Emma McQuade two reps left to go Linda keesman has just made a overtake of Connie purely on that transition shifting Glinda hman four refs left to go trying to hold up Connie EBY in Lane number five Gan sitting at 16th after event number one C Finish Line just underneath that 13-minute Mark line eastby will be done right at the 1310 mark next Athlete on the bar Rebecca vidson made the games last year had a big last day to be able to do that her last event was basically what secured her the spot there was a good fantastic on that final event that got her bid there finished it 25th last year at the cross hit games Fon currently sitting in 12th overall again they’re only taking 10 spots out of the European semifinal [Music] this Lane number seven Sylvia isero she’ll be done with her final set of front squats at the 14-minute mark four minutes until that 18-minute cap R [Music] lson rookie at the semifinals out of Denmark Ricky Ricky Lawson is done Manan a sitting in 18th overall bottom finished in this heat she was ban was third coming out a quarter finals in this European semifinal Lisa f 1207 Andrea soberg and Emma mcade will round out your top three so we had Alysa Fano leading pretty much from start to finish nice and steady through those double unders really good squat Pace she moves really well on those but over in Lane nine Andrea Solberg catching steadily from start to finish round four was very tight getting onto that bar B but then Alysa Fano managed to pull away on that last round to secure the Heat win but not the fastest time so far Lisa Fano not the best time and it’s good enough for second overall with Claudia glux time of 11:44 still holds true we’ll see if it holds up for one more heat [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] the French flag three colors out of the French Revolutionary term blue for Freedom white for equality and red for Brotherhood welcome back everyone to the French Throwdown I’m chasing it with with Lucy Campbell and Lauren Smith as we are getting set for the fourth and final heat of individual women event number two and yesterday picking up right where she left off Gabby maawa before the event even started she said this was her favorite one and she called her shot cuz Gabby mwa takes an event win in dramatic fashion over second place Amy Kringle that was facing a touch and go race to the Finish but Gabby Malla gets her at the end your second event five rounds for time 100 double unders 20 toes to Bar 10 front squats at 155 lucier go Ruck steps to success so definitely relax through those double unders and toaster bar but I think we will see a quick break on those Toaster bar with the women in order to hold that strong squat Pace on the front squats you’re laying a is for this fourth and final hit your top 10 women coming into the second day of competition but looking over there at Lane number six in her third year semifinals Amy kingle is looking to try to make her rookie debut at the CrossFit Games was leading yesterday during event one but Gabby mwa takes her over Amy always seems to have a solid start to the semi’s events they usually open with a nice long workout she won event one back in Sid at 2022 she she came top five in Berlin last year so it’ll be really interesting to see if she can hold this through Von Roar rookie debut here although she first place worldwide in the open decent performance yesterday but you said last night we’re talking about this Lucy that this actually could be the best event for Von Roar win across it tour worldwide visiting CR gyms around the globe create an account scan the QR code or visit hustle up- app.com to enter drawings will take place on June 20th 2024 we’re just talking about Miriam or Miran Bon Roar rookie here debut however we thought oh yesterday might be her best event obviously it’s very well known at this point as her experience and success at high rocks okay running and cleaning J however squats you say might be her Powerhouse movement yeah I mean you can see it on YouTube she’s got 300 unbroken W balls she can do 63 unbroken paused back squats at 100 that is a ridiculous volume in and when we look at this event there’s a lot of leg strength endurance it’s clear she’s got that Gabby mcgau in the center lane your overall leader after day one won the 2023 European championships here for semi-finals it’s more on Gabby let’s go down to laurren Smith we could sing Gabby’s Praises all day long she’s a phenomenal athlete but so often we’re looking for those connections between the sport and what we see on the floor and what happens at home and there is a wonderful story that happened at quarterfinals where after Laura Horvath and Gabby maawa were done with theirs at CrossFit Glass House guess who took it on next it was Gabby’s dad versus Laura’s mom in the CrossFit Court of finals they’ve got such a incredible support system now they’ve all made their home in Hungary and it’s just aiding all of her performances you know what it’s like if you have a nice and settle system behind you you can give your best on the floor and I have no doubt that’s what we’re going to see over the course of the weekend two athletes rolling forward just ahead of the pack Lane number four Emma tall followed by Lane 10 bottom of your screen car and frova begin to our second round of 100 double unders go one is the official Mobility partner of the crosshit games take your Mobility to the next level with goat’s personalized program and take advantage of a 14-day free trial to start your journey these 10 athletes chasing the time to beat set by Claudia Gluk at 1140 that was all the way in Heat number two as you see Emma tall is one of the more consistent athletes as far as success in the field just a couple of missteps along the way uh you know a penalty on a barbell a sickness has just kept her out of being a more prominent figure at say the games level yeah exactly because every time she does make the games she’s pretty dangerous on most of those events and so you know it would be great to see that consistency from her it’s always the athletes frustration with those online events as soon as they get here you know what’s happening like you’ve got your judge and it’s nice and simple but having to create that around you in those quarterfinals in those open world workouts can be a big source of stress for the athletes left side of your screen Elena katala as call free over on the right again your top 10 women after day number one only 10 spots available for this European semifinal and your 2023 CR Smith games Champion Laura Horvat back in Action here she took second at the semi-final last year Gabby mwa took first but L horbath finally getting that cross it gains win looking to solidify her place and make a statement here at the European semi-final as it’ll be the first weekend but the talk along this is Tumi is back this year after taking the year off last year having her first child and back in action and this is setting up to be an exciting season with those two athletes in the field potentially in Fort Worth Texas in August is atanta carala in Lane number nine is your current leader in this event just past the 432 Mark Claudia Gluck holds the time to beat at 1140 she was done with round number two at 409 so these athletes are teetering with that pace at Claud Gluck but unfortunately for them is Gluck never slowed down no her second last Heat was her second last round sorry was 236 her last her last round was 232 and all of them are around that 220 to 230 Mark so it’ll be really interesting to see you know we’ve seen a lot of athletes have that really strong start from the one to three rounds and then it’s rounds four and five where we start to see that separation [Music] Elena car caral is done we are in the third round of five 100 double iners 20 to Zar is next as Emma tall hops up just a second behind her and matal qualified the cross the games in 2019 being the fittest in Sweden as country Champions were all invited to the CrossFit games that year but she’s also made it back in 22 and 23 as she missed the 2022 semis with an illness as caralis still holds a slight Edge on emal as we are in the third round third set of front squats 10 front squats at 155 lbs just past the 6 Minute Mark Claudia in Heat number two she was done with this round at 6:32 I always think it’s really interesting to see which athletes do up their belt as they’re getting to the bar and which athletes wait until they get to the bar to do up their belt it’s a little things like that where it’s like does this person want a break or does this person want to get their hands on the bar caral and tall are done at the exact same time right at the time and Pace set by Claudia gas caral is jogging to the rig along with lur horbath lur horth and Gabby mwa are now moving in to challenge for that first place position not unlike what we saw from ulis uix who won it for the men’s where he did the first three rounds kind of watching everybody’s Pace getting a feel and this is where he started to press the press the pace and we might be seeing the same thing from Lura horbath marol is stepping in exactly you don’t want to go too fast on the first round rounds at the same time you don’t want to count yourself out in those first three rounds so it’s about being there but not necessarily being in the lead and then pulling through and pushing the pace when you need to Laura Horvath sitting in seventh after the first event yesterday which actually was a much better start than it was last year for her and she end up being second overall at the semis 100 double unders this is the fourth round athletes will move to 20 to bar and then 10 front squats at 155 lbs Emma tall on the left side of your screen Gabby maawa just to her right and it is Laura Horvath that is taken the lead followed by Gabby maawa training Partners best friends now sitting first and second in this heat this is where Claudia glu’s time will start to play in because they’ve been pretty similar up until this point you know Laura coming through obviously but ultimately coming off that bar at the same time so it’s these last two rounds that are really going to dictate actually who’s going to take the overall event win and as you said Claudia glux last round was faster than her fourth round as L Horvat took a quick break Gabby maawa goes unbroken and now she takes the lead and you can see that midline fatigue on Laura’s toaster bar that Kip is getting bigger and bigger I mean she’s relying on it and feeling that through the ABS maawa on the right horth on the left rep forre on the fourth round of front squats 10 front squats at 155 lb and as Emma tal gets off the rig she has fallen well behind the pace of these leaders the time you’re looking for if they want to get the best one 904 times at the upper left corner of your screen as Gabby and Laura are done right at that time but we know that Gluck had her fastest round on the last one Laura Horvat jogging back to a rope followed by Gabby maawa 1140 59 is the time to [Music] beat Horvath has about a 12 PR blead on maawa as maawa is working in her fifth final set now we’ve seen a lot of things happen by a lot of good athletes in this last round especially on these double unders yeah let’s just say those uh hope those belts stay in tight Amy cringle Amy’s favorite movement is either a toar or a ghd so I’m sure she’s loving this workout which is can be quite a weapon in the fifth and final round of this event exactly Emma tall has dropped to fourth place as Pringle has moved into third Elena carala is just getting to her start mat as Lura horbath has but a handful of reps left to finish out this last set of double unders five 10 reps left for horbath horbath is done 10:09 on the clock 1140 is the time to beat Claudia Gluck on this last round went unbroken is it necessarily needed if Laur horbath can push the squats at the end but it definitely help if L Horvath can hang on Gabby mg right side of your screen in the green just getting to the rig about five reps behind Laura Horvat Jenny m is just getting out of her screen she’s on her fourth round so Horvath and MGA about to lap her got mawa takes a break Laura Horvath is holding on and with that last rep that she has she has 50 seconds to get the time to [Applause] [Music] beat for Horvath hands right on the bar luing as you said belt up in the transition pick the bar up when you get there two reps done for horbath 30 seconds to go here comes Gabby mwa L horbath final five reps [Applause] and with just one squat left to go your 2023 Crossing games Champion gets her first win of the weekend here at the 2024 European [Applause] semi-finals Gabby mwa first place yesterday how about a second place to start day number two Amy Kringle the time of 1140 is pass Claudia Gluck should hold on to third overall but Amy Kringle could get herself a Place [Music] finish this will be a great start from Amy obviously Claudia’s time’s just gone but top five time that’s exactly what she needs top five to manage to to mix with a second place finish on yesterday so she could see herself holding on to that second place Position kingle will be done at 12:06 we for fourth 1206 should be good enough and actually that was just one second ahead of Fan’s time so it’s good that she ran across the Finish Line as you have carala dalstrom and Tall trying to close out their final set of front squats tall consistent carala just took a little pause at the top and it’ll be tall M matal will cross the finish line at 1237 Here Comes Jaclyn dstr missed the games last year trying to make it back carala is done still under the 13-minute [Music] mark p frova working on her last set of front [Music] squats for fova had won the French throwdown at a previous year as you see Ella Wilkinson who sitting fourth overall had a great start to the weekend yesterday with the running and cleaner jerk event more in her wheelhouse though to start the weekend off Ella wilington and a high performance CrossFit second coming in won’t be second coming out but should be able to see yourself in the top 10 as Jenny mure who is fifth after the first event struggling a bit in the [Applause] second and for mure she’s got 10 reps left to go [Music] still looking good on these front squats she’s a strong squatter Jenny mure who had actually very similar start to last year she got first in the first event last year and then struggled a bit on the second one but it is your reigning CrossFit Games Champion l Horvath building off the Seventh Place finish he got yesterday and good enough for first today so we saw Elena karatay sahya with the early lead through rounds one and two looked really good but then coming into round three that’s where we started to see round four sorry that’s where we started to see Laura harvar make her move and then rounds four and five it was Gabby mwa and Laura harvar connect good friends really good training Partners but then ultimately Laura harvar held on to that bar unbroken for the last set of toaster bar straight in belted up through the transition and that solid set of squats to finish the heat first and take the fastest time of the event and Laura Horvath always quiet in the off seon when it comes to Lura Horath but the question was is she going to come out here and make a statement as far as semi-final a concern in the time 11:24 taking first in this event Gabby McAllan third Claudia Gluck holds on for third place overall in this event and Laura Horvat your game champ is down with Lauren Smith she is indeed Laura fittest on Earth coming out in front of a European crowd as we kick off the in-person CrossFit Game season what does that feel like oh it’s amazing the last time was in France was a long time ago for the French showdown in Paris so I’m excited to be back here in France Leon I never been here so the crowd is just amazing as I remembered so thank you guys for coming out amazing battle between yourself and Gabby maawa we expect it to continue all weekend how much had you tested these workouts against one another back home in your cross box yeah we practice some of them not the whole workout but it basically feel feels like we at home tra training against each other competing here so I try to go a little closer to her now so be are next to each other in the lane but this was very cool very special do you know what else was special watching your parents take each other on in the Europe semi-finals by French Throwdown we have a 16 minute time cap male and female pair number one completing three rounds of 30 calorie row and 30 overhead [Music] squats 125b on the bar for the Texas this summer these male and female pairs sharing the work of 30 calories of 30 overhead squats three rounds for them second pair will be completing 9090 you’ll see these teams Advance their box down the competition floor is move through each round overhead [Music] squats athletes can split any way they want for these three rounds of 30 calories on the rower it looks like Lane number four advancing their box CrossFit a a play number six got it Sagittarius follow of my 10K capital the athlete who has fanc the box has to be the athlete going back on the rower and starting to work on there 30 calories so first bear has three rounds of 30 calories and 30 overhead squats and the second bear has all 90 calories to complete on the rower before moving on through the overhead squats our time cap is 16 minutes and this is Heat number one of three already heading in the air in Lane number four for CrossFit aota your Leaders with 3 minutes and 30 seconds on the clock so Lan number four the first pair make a start on the overhead squats CrossFit a coming into this event 23rd position and we have a close race for second place in Lanes 1 six and seven CrossFit 47 100 CrossFit Sagittarius and Max effort [Music] Academy but what about that work in Lane number four for CrossFit aorta going unbroken on 20 reps of overhead Squat and still going so as Greg said you’ll see one athlete Advan the box that must be the athlete that then returns to make a start on the calerie row second pair of athletes waiting in the wings back there cross a a will advance their box to the second position they are your current leaders just ahead of 10K Capital Sagittarius you’re one two and three right now [Music] CrossFit Zara OT moving back CrossFit wish and just behind them 47 100 [Applause] [Applause] Sam Marti black down there in Lane number 10 just trying to wrap up second round of overhead squats so just about 6 minutes on the [Music] clock no leaders your leaders are in Lane number four no in CrossFit a after yesterday’s competition they’re placed in [Music] 23rd and Crossfit Sagittarius in Lane number [Applause] six as well pen Capital also working on their last round time cap is 16 minutes the second Fair will be launched on the competition floor right after the third round is completed 10K Capital down there in Lane number three looking strong on these overhead squads outstanding effort by AA what again more than 20 reps unbroken and is up though for 10K Capital One final R yes 10K Capital what a comeback for 10K Capital 736 officially and they clear the line and that opens up the opportunity for their second pair to make a start on the 90 calorie row neck and neck over the line for a otter and Sagittarius your one two and three all these teams making a start on the second pair now and here comes once again the photo finish CrossFit wish and Crossfit Max effort Academy along with s miti g red and zat’s training [Applause] culture the STS currently ranked 21 through 30 in our teams division eight teams advancing through to the CrossFit games from the Europe semifinal c23 CrossFit just cross and finish by launching their second pair into the arena 90 calories have to be completed before moving on to the overhead squats quick transitions as efficient as possible are critical in that type of event 10K Capital closing up to 60 calories a UT coming through the 40 calories [Music] that means only 30 calories left for your [Music] leaders 50 calories now complete Sagittarius race is on to the overhead squats and here comes STI gr black launching their second bear just under 6 minutes to go final five calories for your current leaders CrossFit 10K Capital before a 16-minute Time cap hits 5 minutes and just under 30 seconds as we have our first Spar Your Leader Estella said CrossFit 10K Capital the first spare on the overhead squats but in Lane number two CrossFit wish getting ready [Music] they have got a significant Advantage though here in Lane number three still the only team out on the floor on these overhead [Music] squats But Here Comes CrossFit wish out of Lane number two what a comeback for wish and free strong looking overhead squats it’s going to be a race a finish for these 90 reps to be completed Sagittarius look like they’re closing it out on the row and joining them a UT onto the overhead squats it’s all down to the capacity now in this overhead squat position Greg on these teams is high volume 90 reps overhead squat is a thing of beauty assembling all of the 10 General physical skills and with 90 reps to combine as a pair crit a a in lane four male athlete repping out those overhead squats will 10K Capital manage to hold on to that early lead in this event number [Applause] four don’t count out c23 CrossFit train called in Lane number eight also making quick work of that barbell you can look at the judges advancing the Box on the competition floor confirming 10K capital is still in the lead having two teams chasing them so looks like we’re in a final 30 Reps for 10K Capital strong performance from [Music] them just over two and a half minutes left [Applause] a 16-minute Time cap more than enough time for our athletes to get the work done let’s look at the judge’s hands for 10K Capital out of Lane number three CrossFit wish onto their 30 Reps for the final set the hand is up though for 10K capital three Heats of teams going for the fast time finish 10K Capital are heading in for a Heat win and they take it in 1421 unofficial now the question remains who will take second Stella wish a UT Zara all these teams closing it down now in the final 30 [Music] reps as we head into the final minute of heat number one final minute [Applause] athletes the hand is up for CrossFit wish out of Lane number [Music] two they could be looking to close this one down in under the time [Applause] cap 158 to take them over the [Music] line 30 seconds still looking for these judges to Signal the final five there you go Lane five Greg is on the [Music] Move 10 seconds five three two one [Music] time this is it for Heat number one of event 4 four for our teams and please give a good Round of Applause for your heat winners CrossFit 10K capital [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] the 2024 European semifinals continue as we are at ldlc Arena beautiful beautiful Arena brand new here as the host site for the French Throwdown as the teams take the stage for the second day of competition I’m chaseing with Lucy Campbell Lauren Smith we’ll be joining us shortly as we’ve seen one heat go we are now in the second of team of event number four just two events today mix pair one 30 cal row 30 overhead squats for three rounds the second pair 90 and 90 185 for the men 125 for the women Lucy what are your go go rock steps to success so number one work to your strengths by biasing the row over towards the men and number two breaking point so break more on the barell where the transition times are faster and less costly your lane assignments Heat two of three Oslo teams just about everywhere along with butcher’s lab but it’s in Lane number six the Jolly Sailors and more on them let’s go down to Lauren Smith it’s road to the Redemption for the Jolly Sailors Helen M Collins and Janie Garrett back in 2022 had to withdraw to a member of their team being done for drugs in 2023 will Kane and Janie Garrett had to withdraw because one of their teammates disappeared to take part in a television series now joined by Mor neyman of the Crosset Games Team Rin from last year they’ve rekindled their love for the sport and they’re giving it a go on the semi-finals floor this [Applause] time he two underway first male and female pair on the rower win a cross it World Tour visiting Crosset gyms around the globe create an account and scan the QR code or visit hustle up- app.com to enter drawing will take place on June 20th 2024 team event number three we’ve seen one heat go the best time we saw in that heat 1421 by 10K Capital male female pairs working throughout this the first pairing again 30 cows on the over 30 overhead squats for three rounds when they’re done that second pair waiting in the back part of your screen ker piger cross and Oslo the name still eludes me although we’ve heard whisperings of what it uh stands for and how you should say it as one of four Oslo teams competing here this weekend the other three are actually in the next team all sitting inside the top seven right now as crossed Oso is in a position to get potentially three teams that’s right Flex on them camera time is always Limited make the best use of it while you can Lucy we talked about how to Pace this out you’re looking at that 1600 plus and that was what you’re talking about as far as how to get through this the right way yeah it’s interesting to see how they’re uh tackling that we kind of thought that the first maybe 20 25 cows might be at a slightly higher rate and then you kind of ease it off as you’re getting towards that uh barbell knowing actually that obviously if the guy is spending the whole time on the rower it’s going to be the female that is taking the first and probably the majority of the Reps on the barbell now we talked about uh Jolly Sailors to kick off the top part of this heat uh we have uh one of the jolliest sailors in the booth with us maybe by reputation not by trade Mr Daniel chaffy welcome good morning thank you you’re w i figur that the best intro is always the most awkward one I’ve been called many things Jolly Sailors that’s the first yes let me know what a nickname that I received uh last night I never heard that one either we we’ll save that for lat not for television well Daniel you are heading up the international affiliate team we had OE Mansbridge on earlier today but you are also the we here reputation wise The Godfather of France CrossFit and you’ve put on this event you’ve been a part of this community you’ve got CrossFit Mo like what else is there left to do for you in this community um my goodness uh a lot of things um I think we’re only at the beginning when you think about uh the sport you know oh you think back to 200 that’s nothing you look at when Wimbledon was built or hos or when did you know the PGA tour start the the sport of Fitness CrossFit is is um It’s Only just starting you know we’re finding our feet and um so it gets knocked it gets criticized but I think by people that just looking for clickbait if you really love it you understand it then you’re going to be positive and you’re going to build for the future I think we so we we’re in the ldlc arena when we started the French Dron now back in 2012 we went to a local park and built illegally a rig for the final right and we had literally like eight Spectators and two dogs and um most of the finalists are actually volunteers now wow but hey they’re not fit enough to qualify and they’re probably too old now as well um so that’s that’s what’s happened the last like 13 years what’s going to happen in the next well this this is this is the newest Hightech most sought after arena in in France and this week it’s hosting crossfits yeah that thing that 13 years ago no one wanted to welcome us you know we there wasn’t the the to to to afford to do it like this so um we’re only just beginning yeah and it’s not just this it’s we’re working in our second round of the first pairs in this second heat finishing up their second round of it they’ll go back to the row one more time but this isn’t the only event that’s happening here in the arena we’re talking about the Pinnacle of the sport the top tier athletes that we have but you have a massive Community event that is going on directly behind us in the others part of this Arena yeah I so traditionally we’ve been a community event so we we started uh the Throwdown just to bring the French Community together or the French speaking community so that includes Swiss Belgium Luxembourg and so we want that to continue and so we have um over 4,000 this year over 4,000 people participate finalists um it’s about 680 on the community event and so today we have two floors under the same roof um different programming uh different Vibes the other one one has obviously smaller stands but it’s a nightclub it’s it’s going off yeah I saw that saying what 32 Lanes of of availability for these athletes on two sides yeah and they get when they qualify they get a ticket to come and see the semis as well so they’re they’re pumped they’re really happy yeah we we see that that’s actually that’ll be happening in Knoxville Tennessee for the third week of semi-finals if you compete in their Community event you do get tickets too which is fantastic and that’s kind of what I was talking to Oli about is you know the sport ignites the fire and and binds the community in one place and then the community builds up the sport on the back end and there’s a symbiotic relationship between Sport and Affiliates and speaking of Affiliates you like you said we’re just getting started with the sport even though we’re you know 12 years down the road with the French Throwdown specifically what about the affiliate side what is the community like growing from there well I think they feed each other you know um so this is an event all it does is makes people talk about cross and so in the stands most people have have done one session or are members of a box or coaches Etc but not everybody and there are people that are viewing now so we we’re broadcasting today in four languages English French Spanish Italian bad English that yeah let’s get off American English we’ll call it American we got proper English to the left bad English to absolutely and um so that people push the doors of boxes because the sport is there it’s aspirational you know they can only dream of doing what these people are doing and looking like these people um I’m 50 I know that I can’t but I know that you know when you learn that it scalable I push the door uh my sister’s here I’ve been honestly I’ve been trying for 12 years to get her to join a box she’s here wow that’s like her eyes so hopefully my sister will go and join a box you um so the sport feeds the the Affiliates and obviously the Affiliates feed the sport just finishing up that’s Lane number nine high performance cross it jst compete red uh winning the title for the longest team name in the history of frosted games competition but also had a I was say interesting finish to their event yesterday today yeah their last round on the running and clean jerks or Thruster workout yesterday was not the best they had a few kind of issues there so it’s really good to see them being able to turn that around and draw a line under yesterday trying to hit the ground running today and you see teams finishing up their first round now what we had partitioned for 30 and 30 between rals and over at squats at 185 and 125 for three rounds the second pairing I think it’s the the the shorter end of the stick because now it’s 90 cows between the two and 90 overhead squats in an unpartitioned format yeah and obviously this is where you’ll start to see the women um contribute more to that row even though they likely will be doing a lesser proportion of it depends on the stature as well for some of them like the jst you’ve got a shorter male athlete with a taller female athlete she might be pretty good on the row and so she might equally take a little bit more of that than other teams might do and there’s an interesting pacing between the two because I mean we discuss is that predominantly you know the the bigger athletes which tend to be the the male athletes Will Row easier at a certain Pace that would be more difficult for a female athlete to do and how they manage who takes what Pals and how they transition was a big part of Team strategy here yeah exactly when you transition you want to keep that handle moving as well the aim is to keep the fly will going through that concept to ur and if you put it down you let that slow a little bit then obviously when the next athlete comes on they’ve got to get it moving again so actually you’ll see the athletes when they change over one of them will start to carry on pulling on that handle as we’re seeing jst try to get through their first 90 or first and only 90 Cals let’s go down to laurren Smith who has more on jst so all of these English teams only a month so ago took to the floor against one another in the Arnold Classic in the UK and it turned out that jst came out on top aod in second and Jolly Sailor in third and now they’re back out on the floor and obviously trying to either replicate or rewrite the Playbook on that one but interesting that they’ve already had this opportunity to test against one another just over 55 cows for jst 90 is the total to get to about 34 reps away Dan you’re talking about your sister being here and trying to get her in AC cross it your son is also here and you got him in across it in fact he did his first open officially this year I believe it was the 145 that’s right that’s right yeah so um I was lucky enough to discover the the great Glassman white um you know that scrolly website back in the day oh yes with the uh Athena dog on the that’s right the icon when um when before Sam was was born so um he’s he was hanging from Rings before he could walk in the garden you know and um we didn’t have a box we could train in so it’s was like some equipment so I used his Ikea tube that you would um to do jump overs and you know you just trying to find stuff to findy and replicate what was on the website and so he’s he’s seen it um his mom trains um 5 days a week uh in the Box as well so it’s just natural and then um from there he wanted to join the local gym club so the cross would you know inspired him to go to the local gym club and so yeah he’s he’s way fitter than me and I have to stay fit in order to enjoy life with him simp as that well I mean it got to compete with him in the open for the first time which is probably an experience well he got to White the floor with me on every single workout basically Lane number four that’s cross it butcher lab chaos here has pulled ahead into the lead as we are now into our 90 overhead squats at 185 and 125 time to beat 1421 by 10K Capital as missing the first lift and Lucy you were actually talking about this earlier is that how many reps you do how many should you do and you said it’s kind of dependent on how easy maybe that first snatch is from the floor as we saw that Miss yeah for sure like if you’re not comfortable snatching this bar straight into that squat snatch or power snatching it and then going into the overhead squat you know athletes always have that option to do a wide grip clean into a jerk or clean back wck overhead squat it but obviously from there the more movements you add the time the longer time it takes and so you’ll see a lot of athletes going straight into that squat snatch the downside to that is that obviously for some people that’s not quite as consistent so it’s about balancing you know the speed with the ability to be consistent the 90 total reps combined between the two no designated reps that they have to complete as we approaching the 12 minute Mark as they’ll be over 2 minutes away from that best time set by 10K Capital Daniel you’ve been doing the French Throwdown since 2012 cross it well beyond that and now your kids and trying to get your sister into it you’ve been a huge part of the this community three Affiliates of your own International affiliate manager and now we have the French Throwdown as a semifinal not speaking to those that aren’t here because most people watching this are part of cross it but the thing is is that what encouragement do you see with being in it this long of where cross it is going as far as Community affiliate base that you see on display here not what’s on the floor but maybe what’s in the stand oh that that’s simple we used to we used to talk easily to the innovators and early adopters and now the people that are pushing the doors to a box are not necessarily your your First Responders but they’re they’re the First Responders mom um or you know and and um uh teens of the future um the Silver Surfers or you know um you know whatever you want to call them but um it’s a growing it’s a growing demographic um and they’re they’re increasingly pushing the door to the boxes so there are some really good green shoots um that are honestly you know n say oh cross it this way that’s BS you know keep it’s like if you if you’re if you have your Ops down to Pat there’s nothing better than crit you know Bzz said it on a podcast Rec you want to go into a business in the fitness sector and you don’t do CrossFit you’re you’re a bit silly why because CrossFit even when coached badly works but when coached well and counsel and you follow that 100w prescription to CrossFit it’s never failed yeah and so if you learn how to deliver that to enough people in in in a good environment and create a community you will be successful so we bring a bit of um business know how to that methodology you’re unstoppable 14 minutes on their clock will take the new time to Oh and it looks like they’re in Lane number five right underneath that 1420 offici CrossFit GT taking the second heat and setting the new time to beat as it started with jst it moved to butcher lab but those overhead squats seem to be a tall task chos as you see butcher lab chaos trying to get through those final reps remain in second overall [Music] will be the second team on the [Applause] [Music] [Applause] line jst will cross the finish line right the 15minute mark So 10K capitals time of 1421 looks like it’ll stay as the second best time as we still have one heat remaining in team event number four only five events we will be crowning the team champion later this afternoon eight spots to the cross it games coming out of the European semi-final this [Applause] year 16-minute cap getting close as you said in Lane eight just dragging each other across the Finish Line That’s butcher lab [Applause] x to the fin and in the air Lane number two rer pager cross it Oslo and on their heels we got a finish a race of the Finish between CrossFit janas and Crossfit San Jolly Sailor got a no rep on that last very last retion the female athlete had to squat snatch it just to finish not ideal to finish that off though and it’s such a close three-way race and that hits the 16-minute cap as we have the new time [Applause] as we get set to shift gears here cross it gamert 1407 butcher lab chaos and jst compete SE by 4 seconds a tight race there so 10K Capital 1421 will stay as a second best time but we have a new time to beat as we have one final heat remaining here for team event number four and your top 10 teams take the stage next [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] third and final heat taking a sage here for team event number four we’ve had two Heats go so far as the 2024 European semifinal here the French Throwdown continues at ldlc Arena I’m chasing in with Lucy Campbell and Laurence Smith this is 147 is the time that these top 10 teams will be trying to tackle CrossFit Prana ker 268 three Swedish teams in the sorry four Swedish teams in the top 10 but blueprint CrossFit coveting that eighth position with 200 points a six-point lead over holistic two events today event number four for the teams three rounds 30 calorie row 30 overhead squats male female pairs followed by 90 and 90 185 for the men 125 for the women Lucy your go Ruck steps to success is they changed or ingrained for this third and final heat very much ingrained so continue working to your strengths by likely biasing that road towards a men and then breaking point so breaking more on the barbell where the transition times are faster and less costly your laying assignments for Heat number three your number one overall team CrossFit for St creger sitting in Lane number five three Swedish teams five six and seven wall sitting in Lane number six and Seed 23 CrossFit in Lane number number seven sitting in fourth overall taking eight teams to the Crosset games yeah we’ve got some you know seasoned games athletes there Harrison’s been to the games with the motion team back in 2021 and then same with eler as a individual female athlete so it’ll be really good to see how they get on in this event win a CrossFit World Tour visiting CrossFit gym around the globe create an account scan the QR code or visit hustle up- app.com to enter drawings will take place June 20th 2024 three routs for the first pair 30 cows on the row 30 overhead squats and one of the super teams coming in who’s sitting in a top three position cross it walline and more on them let’s go down to Lawrence Smith they are indeed a team born out of the Madrid CrossFit Champs they’re going to be forc to be reckoned with this weekend but each individual athlete has gone on a personal Journey with injury over the past couple of years Jamie with her elbow now back on the competition floor Elliot with one of the hardest years of his life following a groine injury getting back to the competition floor and there was a little bit of worry around kristofh hulva after that monster 325 pound clean and jerk yesterday but I did speak to Elliot just before they came onto the floor and the message is he’s fine keep an eye on these guys because they are going for goals well that’ll be put to the test as it looks like Horvath will be pulling that 90 rep overhead squat Duty with Mia hes as the what a pairing Jamie Simmons Elliot Simmons there for the first group for Walley well you know what they say CrossFit uh couples at train together Stay Together Mia hes Christoff Horvath giving their best Smiles for their team as we get closer and closer to that qualifying position the uh high fives hugs and handshakes tend to dissipate when it becomes to qualifying day 30 overhead squats between the pairs 185 on the bar for the men 125 for the women as we are just pass the two-minute Mark the time to beat 1407 by cross it GT in L Heat number two as Elliot Simmons for Crosset Walley makes his way back to the rower but he is joined by four other teams and there is no real leader at this point something interesting just happened there with the uh c23 motion team it looked like the female athlete went to go on the rower started the first few strokes and then kind of got kicked off by uh Harrison not sure whether that was a plan or uh what’s going on there but Harrison is now on the row and staying on the row by the looks of it and this that’s the Strategic part about this event Lucy we talked about is how to manage your male female athletes in each pair depending on the volume of cers you’re doing if you’re doing the partition one is it best to just have which athlete maybe the male athlete do all 30 see 1,800 near 1,900 Cals that is a very strong Pace the hold exactly and then do you save your fale maybe for more over it squats yeah exactly it might have actually been very strategic in that they went 10 with the female overhead squats 10 with the male overhead squats 10 with the female overhead squats and then because of that if she moved the um box which she did then she had to be the first person to get on the rower so it might have been just you know taking off that Ru book c23 cross at the program sitting in fourth overall as teams in the middle from left to right lane number four Oslo creger pixel cand creger your overall leader after three events in Lane number five Frost it wallot and then CrossFit c23 CrossFit the program no one has really separated themselves and hand in the air for Lane number six that’s Jamie simmens and crossed Walley as the person rowing needs to flip the box and that will be Elliott as he flips the box and makes his way back so a little bit more separation we had after the second round but not by [Music] much maybe a 5sec lead on Oslo creger pixel on the left side in white shirt in Lane number four so walleye still leading this heat as we’re approaching the 5 minute Mark 16-minute cap and that cap has actually been utilized for maybe the first time we’ve seen of any event this weekend for these teams last round of the 30 cal row 30 overhead squats Fross at wle I hter screen led by Elliot Simmons on the row it’s always interesting to see what the athletes behind them are doing to kind of keep fresh because obviously you warm up you have your call time which is usually then a fairly significant chunk of time before you actually got on the floor but then if you’re also the athlete in the second half of this event then you’ve got even longer to wait and actually that first rep on the snatches that first hit on the row just hits a little bit harder when you’ve been resting for essentially probably 20 30 minutes at some event a bit of the nice thing about being that second pair of that 90 Cal bult set of cows might be a decent prep to go into those overhead spots yeah exactly and at the same time you also want to be going at a decent pace so you will feel that heart rate Spike if you’ve not tried to keep it a little bit consistent after the warm up [Music] last set of 30 over at squats still leading cross it Walley Center screen Elliot Simmons and Jamie Simmons First on a team together for CrossFit G where they took third at the CrossFit games that [Music] year that year actually Jamie Simmons forly Jamie green had won the open and still went team and Walley is done at the 650 Mark just alongside the Missi 23 program motion and it looks like for Walley Kristoff horbath will lead the charge on the 90 Cal row and so without any separation sorry that’s Oslo pixel Oslo pixel in Lane number four c23 just finished is in that cluster group of yeah it’s always funny to watch that last athlete coming off the overhead squats and sprinting for the finish his [Music] legs so as Oslo kriger PSL is keeping Pace with Walley more on and let’s go down to Lauren Smith thanks Chase I’ve been speaking to the head of performance at the clear program out of Oslo yaken Ray and as talking about how you strategize breaking up that row obviously the men take the full initial set but across every single clear team you’ll find a 30 20 to 25 split between male to female with a male then finishing off the remainder of the calories and that 2025 depends on the individual teams but it’s pretty straight across the board that’s some good teamwork between the athletes of strapping on the uh foot straps I’d probably say he’s like hey can you pull on this handle a little bit while you’re over there yeah you saw uh saw in the last Heat as well um Mitch actually loosening the female athletes straps as well as she’s about to get off the rower so you know both tightening and loosening it’s something that then the working athlete doesn’t need to worry about they can just work on pulling that hand as hard as they can driving with the legs tell what I see 1,600 cows on the row I did not expect to see the female athlete on the row while they’re doing it so she definitely put in the work on her stretch on that rower yeah for sure sometimes if you know that you’ve got a kind of lesser chunk of work it’s about really working that little bit harder and you kind of want to minimize obviously the difference between the male pace and the female Pace um as much as possible now basically tied after the first round as you you just left also PSL cross it walleye Mia hes in the foreground waiting for Christof horbath who is pulling at an 1,00 plus and it has looks has about 20 Cals left to go as he passes the 70 Cal Mark 90 total cows and Christof forbat is being one of the taller stronger athletes on the in on the field in general definitely utilizing his size and strength for the row and at the same time with Mia being one of the stronger athletes in the field you know she’s well known for her Olympic lifting in the CrossFit field um and she’s done some you know World Champs and those kind of things in the weightlifting scene as well so she’s probably going to be uh I think we’re going to see her take on a big majority on these overhead squats a new leader in the overhead squats just to the left as kristofh Horvath get gets off the rower is you’re overall leader cross it for St creger just to the left are about 10 reps into their 90 overhead squats as just off scream to the left frostfit Oslo PSL gets to their overhead squats your top three in the center three lanes in four five and six CrossFit for St they’re leading this heat followed by CrossFit walleye cross at Oslo ker PSL in Lane number four and then lurking in the back cross it Oslo Riz is challenging for that top spot in the heat see all three Oslo teams are actually next to each other in Lanes two three and four Oslo Riz fiss and pixel right side of your screen you’re your top three in this heat left side of your screen frostfit Oslo RZ sitting in forth trying to keep Pace with your top three teams your top three teams in this heat are also the top three on the leaderboard Pon in the center Lane right side of your screen at 268 Walley 16 points back at 52 Oslo pixel and the left and wide are just four points at a second we Tak eight teams to the CrossFit Games and it looks like Oso Riz on the left is moved into third as we’re chipping away these 90 reps of overhead squats at 185 and 125 your team in eighth place is blueprint CrossFit they’re sitting in Lane number nine as the judges are advancing their boxes as we get closer closer to that 90 rep Mark 14776 time to beat by Crosset GT in Heat number two close behind it was 1421 from the first heat so these 10 teams chasing that top time we are pass to 123 Mark you’re about 90 seconds away from that top [Music] time as three teams are now in their last 30 reps and it looks like your top three in the middle five reps left to go hand in the air for CrossFit fora we at the 13 minute Mark so if we can hang on for that last rep we’re going to have a new time to beat and your leader stays the leader 100 points for croset [Music] [Applause] pranda it’s now a race for second place against three teams and the clock PSL from Oslo Riz in Lane number two and Walley in the center lane mesus stumbling just a little bit hand in the air for cross at PSL and white two reps left to go [Applause] and Oslo PSL will get across the Finish Line in second place in the Heat and below the cap as Christoff Horvath and mesus make their way just ahead and they needed the Sprint of c23 the program followed by cross with Oslo Riz so Oslo Riz had moved into third place but in those last 20 reps lost that position and your top five teams will actually stay the top five as they’re all underneath that 1407 time set by the previous heat butcher slab flick crosses the finish line four teams left on the floor [Music] [Applause] you have cross it 40 the bottom part of your screen in Lane number 10 and top of your screen in Lane number one Crosset holistic is getting across the Finish Line RIT 40 on the right side of your screen and just behind him to the left is blueprint CrossFit as CrossFit Oslo BL crosses the finish line a blueprint CrossFit in the back in Lane nine are holding on to that eighth place position but it was only over CrossFit holistic by six points and cross with holistic finished ahead of them by a spot and this is valuable points for holistic as Crosset 40 crosses the finish line and it is just blueprint Al there on the floor and that six-point lead on the Ninth Place team may disappear after this and we may have new teams up into the top eight with one event left to go but it’s CrossFit for St first place coming in a fifth a third a third at a first place of that total and they’re going to extend their lead on Walley yeah so we saw wary take the early lead with Jamie and Elliott Simmons obviously season games athletes um hitting that first three rounds the quickest but then Pander took the lead on the round of 90 and 90 using really good short sharp changeovers between their athletes to stay nice and consistent um on those really large sets to then Sprint finish and take the event win points across it for St said four top five finishes in the last four events and that’s why they sit on top of the leaderboard still 1310 Oslo creger pixel second place 1344 and Walley another top three finish and cross it P 100 points in a date with Lauren Smith they are absolutely killing it you come with one event to go and you are leading the overall how proud are you of this group uh really proud of course uh the goal was this weekend to just qualify for sure but then to be on the podium maybe was the second goal and uh I think uh everyone is maybe not expecting how it’s going right now but uh we’re just we’re pretty even and it pays off Lisa you’re brand new to this setup that went to the games this time last year how are you settling in um I’m pretty shocked I think so it’s so much fun we didn’t like expect this so we just had fun and yeah I’m glad Alex with all of your team experience over the years at the CrossFit Games when you look at a workout like that what was the key to breaking up successfully uh we’ve been testing the this event two times with different strategies every time and I think that’s kind of the the key on this one to to find the fastest way obviously but the first time we was like yeah this was good but let’s try another way which we did which was even better and we stuck to that plan took each one of us took our like strengths and weaknesses and did the best of it you guys are absolutely crushing it Maria thank you to you we don’t have time but enjoy the rest of your day and we’ll see you at the next event for extending their lead on top the leaderboard we’ll take a quick break here and the individual men will be coming up next here at the 2024 European [Music] semi-final CrossFit Games we have four Heats this is the first one quella moving up to the third box there holding on to the lead top Kingdom CrossFit Southampton in Lane number two will be the second athlete number two Tom kingon sits in second so far in this he should cast off one behind J cast here comes castal in Lane number nine we have a five jump advantage on your leader of t kingdom in second very efficient technique from the leaders [Music] got to cycle these bu jum overs very [Music] fast [Music] here round four is the halfway mark for the seven rounds for event number three but now the lead a little bit bigger quella getting onto the bike before Tom Kingdom gets to the [Music] rope roal and Gonzalez closing out his third round qua still leading the charge and not slowing down at all yeah one of the bigger athletes on the four quella able to descend they send that rope two or three PS but CH kingdom is holding on to second place just ahead of castor there three rounds remaining for your [Applause] [Applause] leader this is a great performance here for Tom Kingdom out a CrossFit Southampton holding on to second still getting to the bike just ahead of castor over there in Lane number [Music] nine but the story Remains the Same Stella handy theier for Lis qu in Lane number [Music] four and Tom kingon trying to hold on to second place just a two seconds this could be a super Kingdon is on a mission Tom Kingdom has definitely crept up that Gap just for rep Advantage the box is being moved into the final rounds for your leader Kella Lane number four but Tom kingdom is on the move too [Music] and Calum Clement trying to still Edge out Yosi a two rep lead over the game’s [Music] veteran minkovich also down to his final round so right now find fin round on the echo bik second count in this type of event so many transitions between [Music] movements the first one to the bike local favorite Luca Uzi [Music] Victor Hing Hof also racing Luca for the [Applause] lead JB s hell sing h [Music] Sarah elhoff Iz catulus [Music] kavis Jamie s on his last box job over hingh El Luca hey Victor top marasovic at a lan number two moving through fourth there just behind those three [Music] leaders round already in the third round as we have one hand up for Victor hingos also for Javy s trying to Edge out your early leader Luca Javi Hing [Music] VI Z Sarah heading out first onto that box but very little to separate these top five athletes Alex culas who had an incredible comeback in the first event of the day so put your eyes also in Lane number five with the blue Rogue headband ja said I will be first Victor I got Hofer in one Hing Hof two marasovic three you’re one two and three right now [Music] VI almost 30 on the clock and Victor Huffer in Lane 10 is pushing Javy Sarah for the lead Sarah has about a 4 second lead on the [Music] bike Sarah is up and here comes Victor [Applause] marasovic coming through now in third just ahead of [Applause] culas and a l unofficial let’s make some noise for Nicolas saltis last 10 reps [Applause] look by five five reps to go for salot Max Make some noise for Nicholas salot [Applause] heat Victor off [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] a [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] welcome back to the 2024 Europe semifinal hosted by the French Throwdown and we are in a packed Stadium here at ldlc I’m Chase singer with Lucy Campbell as Lord Smith will join us shortly heat three of individual men taking on individual event number three seven rounds for time 10 Calo bike one one legless rope climb 10 box jump overs at 30 in and one legless rope climb Lucy our go rck steps to success so number one is all about knowing your pulling capacity and number two is pacing such that whether or not you are good at legless rope climes you are able to get off those box jump overs and the Echo and straight into that movement your lay assignments for Heat number three we’ve got five former games athletes in this heat of 10 show that depth of field we have but cting in Lane number six a tough event to start the day Guam Bon has dropped all the way to 23rd he was sitting in a qualifying position after this morning so look to him to have a bounce back event here dkg the goal for 11 straight qualifying CrossFit Games moved up three spots after the second event what do you see from him here I think he’s just going to continue to climb event after event he’s shown time and time again that he is consistent enough to be able to do that he’s looking to get his 11th ticket to the games and I’m not super concerned just do that whole bkg thing slowly climbing up the ranks nice and consistent 10 [Music] seconds standby eight number three is off 10 men chasing the time of 10:1 win across it World Tour visiting Crosset gyms around the globe create an account scan the QR code or visit hustle up- app.com to enter it’s all it takes the drawing will take place June 20th 2024 as these guys are flying off the bike and no surpris to see Mor feig all the way up the top part of your screen in Lane number one smashing an Echo Bike [Applause] Tre Morris feig who really made a name for himself in 2022 the Lan Throwdown coming pretty much out of what you would think is an impossible position to try to qualify but it had Echo Bike in it Barb muscle up in overhead squats and he absolutely destroyed that and showed it wasn’t a fluke last year going back to the cross the games and having his best ever now Lucy in your steps for Success you talked about pulling capacity right and pacing that means a little bit different I would say for the men than it does the women in this particular event yeah 100% number one you know men generally have a better upper body pulling capacity um which means that you know over the course of these this volume of reps they tend to worry a little bit less about actually how am I going to manage it so that I don’t fail the legless roope climb so actually for them it’s about you know riding the line of how hard can I push the other things um so that then I don’t necessarily feel it too much on the legless morrris feig one legless to go and what we saw is that a lot of the for the men is just maybe their ability to push the bik yeah I think size is coming into play a little bit more than what we would have thought with a ro um an event with you know 13 legless roope climbs in traditionally if that’s the major event if that’s a major movement of an event you would expect to see some of the smaller athletes be the ones that dominate but actually it’s lent towards a larger athletes with the echo Morris Ving working into his last set of box jovers as he moves into round of three more on morrs let’s go down to Lawrence Smith so morce has been working with his coach John Singleton of the program for a number of years now and his capacity in conditioning has been a major Focus they targeted this workout are not worried at all about the position he’s currently sitting in what’s more exciting is the final workout and the lifting are actually his home runs so I think we can expect to see more creep up the table from [Music] here approaching the thre minute Mark Mort still in the lead he came into the day after event number one in 19th Place has since moved up to 14 knowing that we still have a heat to go and they are only taking 10 male athletes to the CrossFit Games as giam bot has now moved into the lead ahead of Mor feig we talked earlier about that 36th Place finish in event number two that had the double unders toes to bar and heavy front squats for 50 reps he was in a qualifying position coming in but Deon bont now holding the lead in this heat and he’s going to need it if he wants to bounce back he’s currently sitting in 23rd Place Your Leader and the lead changes again gentl and Yol aai in Lane number two moving to the Echo Bike as grion is hot on his heels Echo bikes always a good time let’s go down to Lauren Smith or more on this wonderful machine I love that you say always a good time these guys are making those 10 calories look so easy but let me tell you I have one of these in my sitting room at home I train on it at my lunch break and a good time is not what I have I have a great workout I don’t know about you chase have you guys tried that 50 calorie Rog Echo Bike challenge unless yeah unless someone puts a gun to my head I am not adventuring onto that Rogue 50 cal challenge is an NOA Kai on the left side of your screen the thing about an NOA Kai is that he is currently holding the 10th and final qualifying spot for the individual man as we are in event number three he’s got a really good Rhythm on those box jump overs as well the second that that second foot comes off the Box he’s straight up into the next one you see some interesting kind of like tap step kind of rhythms he’s super efficient with minimizing the steps before he initiates that next jump and Yoli in Lane number two left side of screen making his way back as we’re moving from round four into round five back to the bike to start round number five and Yola Kai’s in fifth place coming out of quarterfinals goad is the official Mobility partner of the Cross hit games take your Mobility to the next level with goat’s personalized program and take advantage of the 14 day free trial to start your [Music] journey moving into round five of seven three rounds left as anola Kai is starting to put some distance between him and it looks like Harry Lightfoot in Lane number five Harry lifeit actually moved into a top 10 position he’s holding on to eight after that second event this morning yant dropping down to third he was leading for about a round until anola Kai took that over and has yet to seated Back Lane two aai advancing into the round of six he’s got one rope climb to go in this round keep in mind the last and final round there will not be a final rope climb to close out the round so once they’re done with their box jumps at the end of round seven they’ll be sprinting towards the Finish Line as Harry lightfoot’s going up to close out round number five Harry’s pace is really well as well you know he wasn’t one that we were looking at in the first few rounds but then rounds four and five he’s really started to make a move and now he’s sitting in second in the heat and that is going to be really important for him coming into the last day and Yoli working in his 10 cows starting round number six your current leader in this third heat now speaking looking around in the previous heat Victor hoofer was well ahead of the rest of the field in his heat however because of that he actually missed out on getting the best time by 5 Seconds the time to beat is 10:01 set by Lewis solar and it’s tied to the top it’s 10:1 10:6 1010 1013 106 and this is what we’re seeing tight races at the top which provides little room for error yeah exactly and it’s always that thing of you know yes 100% you want to be up there at the top of your heat but your heat is not the end of this competition you’ve got three other Heats to be thinking about and Y in the left part of your screen still leading about four reps ahead of Harry Lightfoot he’s in a gray cut off sleeve shirt in the middle part of your part of the field as then Yola Kai moving into the round the seventh and Final Round now he has one rope climb to finish round six and then after this it’s going to be a Sprint chipper style to the Finish 10 cows on the bike one legless climb and then 10 box overs as Harry Lightfoot is trying to keep Pace with enolo Kai with gon bant now falling behind Fernando p we are about 90 seconds to the time to beat hand in the ear for aai so he has five cows left on that Echo Bike into the final round of seven and he will have a legless rope climb and 10 box up over to side try to set the new time to beat Harry Lightfoot 5 seconds behind but anola Kai may have put a little bit too much distance between him and Harry as aai two reps in make it three in the final set of 10 no rope climb to finish it out 10 box overs and then it’s a Sprint to the Finish Line time to beats 10:1 that’s not going to stand the next question is what is the new time going to beat and YOLO Kai 923 unofficial set a new time as moris Harry light foot will cross the finish line ahead of the time and we have a matad dash to the Finish 10 box offers at 30 in watch out for Mor it’s fig in the top part of your screen in Lane number one but it looks like it’s going to be Fernando paros getting in third Here Comes G Deon bot crosses a Finish Line Mor bybig Sven Gans BK crosses the finish line and enrio [Music] zenoni and what a matad dash to the finish all under that time of 10:01 so 101 stood for a heat and then your top seven athletes in this heat all underneath that time with enrio Zenon just missing out at a 102 so an YOLO Kai 923 as L big Hansen is running to his box Michael wasowski is still on the bike and weselowski moved himself all the way up into seventh from 15 as ludig currently sitting in 26 is just trying to close this out no danger of getting time CA we’re passing 11 minute Mark we still got 5 minutes before we get there I know it’s more impressive pushing this hard or not landing on that block at J and this is not what Nel was hoping this would be he had just moved himself into the top 10 sitting in seventh overall he had a 15th Place finish in event number one seventh in event two that put him up seventh overall but now he’s finding himself at the wrong end he actually got hit with an early no rep I didn’t see why I’m guessing something to do with the touch but I think it must have been round two or three that he was held at the ropes a little bit longer well then we’re talk about know spreading these rope climbs out especially for the men makes it a bit more easier as he gets another no rep to finish things out but a backto back rope climb would have been a game changer and that’s basically what’s happening if you get a no rep on the touch [Music] [Applause] and YOLO Kai sitting in 10th overall after two events now sitting pretty with a time of 923 so we saw morit take the early lead setting the pace through the first few rounds but then round three was where we saw anai set the pace on the uh box jump overs and take Take the Lead going into the last four rounds and then from there with Harry Li foot kind of chasing him he was able to sustain that momentum and take the fastest time to beat going into the last Heat and and yoai takes it time to beat 923 45 and we had seven athletes all within 30 seconds of each other in this heat and you thought that was exciting heat four top 10 men coming up [Music] yeah oh [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] right I [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Music] me oh [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] the ldlc arena here for the French Throwdown just 6 months old and it is first class all the way as we have a packed Arena here for the French Throwdown I’m Chase Ingram along with Lucy Campbell and Lauren Smith number three hits down one heat to go your top 10 after two events oldis uix backto back wins to start the weekend Luca vuna sitting at 191 but an YOLO Kai we just saw him set the time to beat he’s holding on to that 10th coveted position 92345 as we have 10 athletes to see if they can beat that time seven rounds per time 10 Cal Echo Bike One legless climb 10 box jump overs at thir in followed by another legless climb except for that seventh and final round as it’ll Sprint straight to the Finish Line after the 10 and go rck step steps of success Lucy so number one we’ve got no your pulling capacity this is a high volume of legless rope climbs number two is pacing so we want to ride that line of pushing hard enough so that we can get off the Box all the Echo and straight into the legless Road climb movements your lane assignments for the fourth and final heat of individual event number three oldis Enix backto back wins as we said to start the weekend and you couldn’t have asked for a better start for oldest trying to make his way back to the cross it games I tell you what we talked about this yesterday he looks lean he looks fast and he’s showing it this weekend yeah two for two after the first two events he’s looking Dangerous Michael Smith sitting in Lane number three is looking to try to make it back to the Crosset games for the first time since 2019 [Music] Heat number four is off 10 athletes trying to best the time of 92345 set by anol Kai win a cross it World Tour Ving visiting cross it gyms around the globe create an account scan the QR code or visit hustle up- app.com to enter it’s all it takes the drawing will take place June 20th in 2024 and there he goes just like we have seen for two straight events oldest opix making quick work of that first rope line [Music] it’s a it’s a faster event than you would think especially with these athletes as HRI haalan is just getting off the bike down in Lane number nine and that is not anything I would have thought see come from an athlete like [Music] him 10 box CH overs Lazar jukic has moved in yell Hosta so Lazar jich won the 2023 Europe semifinal as he makes his way back to the bike oldest uix making his way up finishing out his first [Music] round Lazer jukic sitting in third overall let’s go down to Lawrence Smith the question coming into the weekend was can laa make it three wasn’t it but actually he’s had a totally different offseason he left Mayhem returned Le to his old coach from ATP lab programming and he’s completely changed his approach to the semifinals he feels that in previous years he’s peaked too early and this time it’s about booking his tickets and focus on Breaking the top five at the CrossFit Games Lazer jit now trying to keep Pace with yellow host as oldis uix is off the bike this is still round number two as they move to the Box the top party screen in Lane number two in the all black yell hosta who first onto the scene he been around a while but he did not have the Breakthrough performance that we were going to expect winning three events last year at the 2023 Europe semifinal finish in the top 10 and some would argue should have been the Rookie of the Year last year yeah I will be honest I was disappointed that he wasn’t you know finishing intense that’s super impressive for a rookie and he had an event winning there as well so that’s the kind of things that you look for um there’s just a lot of athletes to choose from in that circumstance y host starting round number three 10 athletes on the floor chasing the time set by ano Kai in heat three of 92345 but the next seven times after that are all within 30 seconds just to the right Michael Smith in the maroon yellow host is off the box or off the bike and Lucy you were talking about this earlier how size mattering in this event and you wouldn’t really say gymnastics is for a big boy workout but with the box jumps and the bike and it being a legless spread out between the two you think that’s an advantage yeah exactly I think you know with that step down but also then when you go to the legless rad CLS and you’ve got a tall athlete that already can take a nice big jump yellow hosta looks like he’s taking two PS every time before he touches versus the shorter guys who obviously can’t jump as high the other thing is when you look at someone like upix coming down he’s got those extra steps every rep before he goes into the next one he got a no rep in the first one because he jumped off the box it was more of a kind of controlled fall off it but it’s those little things that meaning that it’s he’s slow on that box whereas Hoster is nice and fast Lazar jit sitting in the center part of your screen trying to keep Pace with Y hosta we’re approaching the 4minute Mark 6 15 minutes to cap no one’s needed that so far the battle for second is on the right side of your screen between Lazar jukic oldis upix and Luca vunak sorry that’s Luca jukic who needs him have a bounce back event after what happened to him in event number two the juk brothers right next to each other side by side as Colin bosard on the far right side of your screen in Lane eight who sitting sixth overall is hanging tight with the jet Brothers but yell hosta on the left side of your screen one of the tallest athletes in the field assumed to be a disadvantage in most say CrossFit movements are not their best friend but in this format put together you couldn’t build a better event for yell hosta guy can smash on the bike has great upper body pulling capacity and that box side as you were talking about oldis less of a factor of that mandatory step down yeah exactly although interestingly when you watch him on the box he looks like he’s only just making it over every time and whether that’s efficient or whether actually he just doesn’t have that leg power um it’s just interesting to see considering he is taller oldest opix who has one back to back events was leading after the first round is now falling behind in danger of being last in this heat next to Luca vunak yell hosta off the bike 540 on the clock hand in the air for Luca jukic on the right side of your screen hand in the air for Colin bosard yell host is done with his rope climb looking to close out round number five seven total rounds in this event split time from this one in the last Heat after round five was 6:41 so it’ll be interesting to see looks like he’s on to beat it but it’s just a good indication of who’s going to win this event right side of your screen Lazar jukic Luca jukic the jukic brothers keeping Pace with yosa about six reps behind here comes Colin bosart at the bottom part of your screen Henrik hoppan who was last to the box after the first round it looked like they might have maybe you got a no rep on the first rope line that’s the only way to really describe what put him there so he might make a char here but yell hosta as you said split time of right around 640 7 Seconds ahead of the pace set by anola Kai Lazar jukic in the white shirt making his way back to the Box closing out round number six round number five excuse me two rounds left to go Luca vunak who is sitting in a top position second overall is in danger of Getting lapped By yellah hosta as him and olis uix were actually sitting first and second gek with a third and second place olis as we saw two first place finishes are now in the bottom two in this heat yosta done with his first climb to start round number six Here Comes Lazar jukic making his way up the Rope makes the touch Luca jukic off the bik coming to the rig keep your eye on Henrik Hine in top part of your screen in the black tank top to try to make a push here towards the end that’s Lazar jukic just ahead of his brother Luca both men trying to catch yellow hosta left side of your screen as we approaching the 8 Minute Mark in the last round of this event you can see what I mean there about that deep squat position that he lands in right side of your screen Henrik HOA line is trying to push for a top position in this heat Colin bosard to his left G hola is done he has one round left to go here comes Lazar jukic Here Comes Luca 10 reps behind yella now in this seventh round it’s a Sprint chipper to the Finish 10 cows on the bike one legless rope climb 10 box jump overs we are 1 minute away from the time to beat sent by anol o Kai in Heat number three 92345 y hosta five Cals left on the bike Lazer jit trying to lean into it can he K Pace with yell yellow’s off the bike 40 seconds to [Applause] time last rep’s done 10 box shovers 30 in your top two on the right side getting laed by yell hosta oh he nearly jumped off that box yosta getting really close to the left side of that box yellow host to left side of your screen five reps to go 20 seconds to get there seven Reps for yell hosta two more to go 20 seconds 923 is the time yell hosta gets over the Box gets across the finish line and gets 100 [Applause] points Luca chuk get put on the Jets to get ahead of Lazar so he’ll get a much needed second place in the heat Kai’s time will at least stand for second overall in the event Lazar jit will cross the finish line here comes Colin bossar Henrik hinan but keep in mind we had seven athletes in the previous heat from 923 to 10 minutes in that time frame so now these times are mattering and ulis who was running away with the competition after the two events might see it slipping away of his fingers in this last part 10 minutes in 16-minute cap we know at least 15 athletes are ahead of where ulis uix is right now just out of the last two Heats Luca vunak still on the [Music] bike five reps to go for Ula upix top part of your screen NAA majeres he’s going to finish oldis upix will get across the finish line just edging out in Lane number one walking across the finish line is Mark Carmona and the clock isn’t toop till you get to your mat and it looks like we’re about 6 Ines away from that as Luca vunak on the right side of your screen and it’s wild to think that Luca vunak and ulis upix were at the top two of the leaderboard but after this they find themselves nearly in the bottom two of this heat as a leaderboard is going to get a big shake up going into the third and final day of competition starting tomorrow but yel hosta event win sitting in fifth overall and based off what happen with our top two athletes we might see him move closer and closer to a first place position when it’s all said and done going into day three yeah so we saw really good pacing from yell Hosta just you know taking his time through those first few rounds openex took the early lead but then we saw him struggle from round three onwards as we said you know got an early no rep on the box jump overs but then really it was all about yellow Hoster and trying to set that time or get that time from heat 3 and anol aai dukit brothers then put on a bit of a show towards the end that last event or last round sorry see Luca beat Lazar and yell finish with the top time yell HOSA top time and 100 points and Bas off who finished at ahead of him you might be see him at the top leaderboard let’s go down to Lauren Smith yell an incredible event win I know in the buildup to this you’ve had to quit a job you loved to focus fulltime on the sport the moments like this make it all worth it yeah 100% you grard job you have no guarantee that it will be worth it so I do every day what I can and this I don’t have in my hands but it feels good when it turns out well I know at the top of the Year Andre hudde your coach at no shortcuts asked you to write down your goals what were the goals for this year we don’t say our go goals out loud but it includes finishing higher at the next stage now I know you’ve got a very important date coming up as well with your other half maybe a marriage the support of the people around you how’s that getting you to where you want to be as an athlete yeah I indeed uh will marry at the end of the year and of course when you quit your job as a man you want to keep providing your family and have backing out or missing out that Financial Security yeah it makes it a little a little bit more difficult but yeah it’s nowhere never and I’m happy that I did it so far you’re doing great Master congratulations to both you and your fiance thank you yell hosta 100 points to close out day number two still three events left to go for the individual men but it is not over you thought that was exciting here comes the women up next for individual event number three [Music] n [Music] [Music] [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] up the rad just a little ahead of Lucy mcgonagal who’s creating a little bit of uh catch up now on that second place separating herself from Georgia [Music] dport H still looking very fast on those rope fines and ball we’ll be moving in second now and as you st sah mangle holding on to third very nice work on the Rope climbs from these leading three athletes that’s separation that they’re getting against the rest of the field they’re able to just get straight up that rope making it happen super fast Georgia [Music] Davenport wrapping up round number three Kiara salandra making moves now taking one spot up over MAA bourini Jasmine gillardi also pushing her boxing back to the rig while we have our leader francisa hogo out of CrossFit rosenheim incredible experience for our two teen back to the bike for her last round time cap is 16 minutes let’s hope we can see all of our athletes get the work done before for that Mark mcgonagle working on the box second place still holding on to those five box jumps ahead of the third place athlete she can just hold on for one more round he’ll be looking at a top three finish for this event for Lucy [Applause] mcgonagal but your leader ladies and gentlemen is wrapping up her final round on the Echo Bike Francesca hogga makes it up the rope and runs to the Box she has 10 box jump [Applause] [Music] overs Francesa OG [Applause] [Applause] in 1206 unofficially outstanding performance and Lucy McGonigle is pushing on that bike see meal and alas eggy aable down there both wrapping it up but Lucy mcgonagal she is fast up the road confident on those legless rope climbs makes it up the last one all she has now is 10 box overs putting the pace down now Lucy mcgonagal onto the final part of event number three 17-year-old teen CrossFit Games multi-ch Champion here on the semifinal stage it is going to be a second place in the heat for Lucy [Music] [Applause] magon and here come Alat eaba in third at just about 1323 Georgia Bergos Beyond’s daughter 17 years old also on the semifinal stage five box jumps remaining for her one minute remaining on the time cap it is going to be a great finish for BJ’s daughter now four reps two one [Music] time a good Round of Applause for your athletes in Heat number one and your winner Francisco hoger [Applause] [Music] oh [Music] now [Music] [Music] n [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] ladies one minute 30 [Music] [Music] seconds 10 seconds standby the third event for the women in Heat number two 16 minute time cap seven rounds starting with the 10 calorie Echo Bike One legless rope climb leading us into the 10 24 in box jump overs closing it up with a final legless rope climb the boxes will advance down the floor as the athletes progress through the seven rounds julot Jacobson crushing the first 10 calories on the echo bite holy tiing comes out second includ [Applause] [Applause] threeway tie in the lead [Music] holy Tian and Julia Jacobson are right there with herat the time to beat 1206 by franzi hoger all of these women sitting currently outside the qualifying spots so very important event to wrap up the second day of competition for the individual women Julia Jacobson Holly tinan both coming off that Echo by neck and neck [Applause] there Julia Jacobson [Applause] [Music] [Music] CL moving fast on those box jumps actually giving her the edge back to the rig and the first up the Rope trying to get separation between her tyan and Jacobson [Music] [Music] we got M deuch also back to the bike and now syia mea Ed got e and we have all of our athletes back to the by for round number three Julia Jacobson just able to put a little more power through that Echo Bike taking her slight lead off Holly tinan and cloria Gluk [Applause] keeping her base and so does Julia and [Applause] holy and the three are still tied in the [Applause] [Music] lead neck and neck there for tinan and Gluk touching the top of that 15t legless rope climb but we are back in for the fourth round on the Echo Bike this the halfway round of the seven for these athletes in Lane number nine Thea down there in one making her way back to the Echo Bike for round number four and cladia now getting off the bike just after holy Tian [Applause] so tyan has a short lead Claudia right behind hly tinan two rep advantage on the box jump overs trying to create a little bit of space but Gluk and Jacobson still there with her but now who [Applause] [Applause] [Music] leads Julia Jacobs four reps in three reps Remain the second of four peeps of individual women all with one aim to punch their ticket to the CrossFit Games 2024 the fight is about to start now Sy MEA trying to stay ahead of Erica Eon and m g and there she goes both of them rep for rep as youve got Helga semifinal stage MJ G coming through in 1458 unofficial [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] uh [Music] back live in the ldlc arena here for the French Throwdown as two Heats of women for individual event number three is done as we have two more Heats to go and is a packed house here in Leon France I’m chasing with Lucy Campbell and Lauren Smith in the previous heat Claudia Gluck just s the new time to beat and this is what they’re taking on seven rounds for time 10 Calo bike one legless rope climb 10 box jump overs at 24 in and one legless rope climb except for that seventh and Final Round where you sprint to the finish out of those final 10 box UPS Lucy steps to success by go rock so for the women the first one is particularly important know your pulling capacity 13 legless rope climbs is no mean feet and the second one pacing make sure that you’re at a pace where you can get off the bu the box jump overs and the Echo and straight into those legless R climes your 10 athletes taking this on in Heat number three taking a look up at Lane number 10 bottom part of your screen you have Alis Alysa fulano who had got fifth in the previous event and has moved herself from 20th to 12th yeah very impressive and she was third um at Sid in 2022 on the legless Road climb event so her pulling capacity is definitely up there it’ll be interesting to see what she can do on this now we saw this for the men but the taller athletes had some success in this and Rebecca vids standing at 58 is one of those athletes to keep your eye on yeah she also did really well uh last year in a seated Legas Road climb event so this will be a good one for her Claudia Glock in the previous heat set the time to beat at 11:51.5 Zero stand by heat three of four of individual women’s event number three off and underway starting on those 10 Cal Echo bikes winning cross it World Tour visiting the CrossFit gyms around the globe create an account scan the QR code now or visit hustle up app.com to enter it’s all it takes the drawing will take place on June 20th 2024 we’re joined in the booth by The Man Behind the madness director of competition Adrien Bosman we had a we had some fun yesterday on the podcast now we get to talk some individuals in like is Fast and Furious event for the men two Heats of women we saw what CLA Gus did I think the the question is can we see something around 10 yeah I think it’s definitely possible I mean it’s heating up for sure that first heat you know they set the tone and Heat 2 came out and they smashed that so I expect we’re going to see that as we get into heat three and four one climb down already on to the 10 box overs at 24 in step down each rep as Rebecca vids in the center part of your screen in the Violet horn primitive outfit it’ll Advance her box and move back to another roope climb to finish the round so two climbs per round except that seventh and Final Round where you’ll do your boxing Ms and go right back to the Box see agones sitting here in Heat number three overall she’s sitting in 20th Place is not really a position we would have thought we’ve seen her at this point in time no definitely not but you know she does have that snatch event um coming up the thing is that if you’ve got a if you’ve got your wheelhouse workout coming up that’s great but if you have too many and youve du yourself too much of a hole that can be really difficult to get out of it’s pretty risky too having that event on the last day with so many points up for grabs that’s going to be uh tough going into it if you know that that’s the one you’ve got to make your money and there’s not that much left in the competition just past the two-minute Mark Rebecca VI two CS left to go on the Echo Bike before she goes back to the Rope climb goad is the official Mobility partner of the Crosset games take her Mobility to the next level with goat’s personalized program and take advantage of the 14-day free trial to start your journey as Rebecca vids is done with their third rope climb starting the second round poer heels is in Lane number three raque Larson as Manan agones gets done with her second round initial climb so your top three Larson vids and agones as Emma McQuade gets to the box to join these top three now Chase what I am going to look at a lot during this event is who’s attacking these box jumps because that to me means that you’re setting yourself up for a confident road clim if you come into that box jump and you are attacking it says that hey you know what I’m ready for that next clim and it doesn’t scare me it’s no big deal I think that’s going to be the tell for a lot of these athletes if they come to the box and they have the opposite approach and like oh I’m going to take the heat off a little bit going to Pace a little bit here that might mean that there’s going to be some late stage difficulty with some of those cles non agones done with her second round climb she makes her way back to the B as you see coming off the Rope over in Lane number four left side of screen Emma McQuade was a little little too excited to get to the Echo Bike to close out the second round it had to go back and get that one climb before she could get get back to the bike I’ve never been one to be excited that enough to get to the Echo Bike but you know to each their own yes I was going to say some things are better uh to take your time with right getting back to an Echo Bike Sprint never something you want to jump right back into attack the boxing overs and maybe you know get to the bike when you want to but that’s if you’re a normal person a normal human being these these athletes are anything but normal they amazing at what they do so yeah they’re they’re always chomping at the bit for more Rebecca VI still in the lead R Larson making her way up the Rope rookie here at the semifinals Ricky Larson out of Denmark 27 years old as she is keeping Pace with Rebecca vidson and Manan agan and Rebecca viz is starting to open up a wide gap on the three athletes that are chasing her she gets to the Rope no hesitation right into that climb that’s what you like to [Music] see one of those things about the climbs especially when legless is that The Descent and how you get down is highly valuable as far as energy save time under tention save different than say a legless and it’s a skill set that is an important thing to master just as much as getting up the Rope yeah definitely if you’re sloppy on that descent like you said it can cost you not only time but a lot of energy and that’s going to add up over the rounds McQuade getting to the bike multiple games underneath their belt La McQuade let’s go down to Lauren Smith coming into this event but probably what you don’t know is as she came to Leon she picked up a really bad stomach bug so all day yesterday it was about management so her and her coach James JY are exceptionally pleased with how she’s performed given the circumstances she had a bit of a tough off seon the um issue that forced to withdraw from the games was a an injury to the full vertebrae in her neck so she went back to quadding for a little bit before returning to train for this and she’ll be really happy with how things are going even though it looks like she’s pacing slightly so far so good from mqu sitting in seventh overall yeah now Rebecca vids just cruising on this event so far she looks like she is here to win it or at least take this heat again a lot of confidence that you seeing in her movements from rep to rep round to [Music] round Rebecca fitton coming back to the Rope to close out her fourth round so after this she’ll have three rounds left to go seven rounds in this event now I might have spoke too soon Chase I don’t like to see that Kip at the end of that poll I hope that’s not a bad sign for the remaining rounds here the K of death what we what we call it Lucy for the legless as the fatigue builds up that Kip being kind of to help these out is that something you add when needed or maybe early on before you have to I think it’s definitely something that you tend to add when needed but at the same time it’s something that some athletes do revert to when it is such high volumes on the legless pulling so you know as an athlete you want many kind of tools in your tool box having the ability to switch to that legless that long legless kit is something that a lot of these athletes will be able to do just in case they need it what you call it the pachelli is that uh that that P Pioneer of that that technique in the early days back in Carson Rebecca vidson one Cal left to go as she is in the round of five 10 Cals on the bike one legless climb 10 box overs one legless climb wasting no time so the confidence is still there Kipping that last one as she makes her way to the Box jogging from rope to box is BOS you’re saying is that confidence of getting to it yeah with just a couple rounds left it would be interesting that top time so far 11:51 waiting to see who the next athlete off the bike will be and it looks like the right side of your screen in the green pants it is on agones and on the left side in all black Here Comes Ric Larson rookie here at the CrossFit semifinals but round round now Chase I’ll say one of the most difficult things about an event like this in my opinion as a non-competitor but somebody who sits on the other side of it is that I think the mentality to continue to push even if you don’t have somebody chasing you directly because there are so many athletes in other Heats that sneak in steal a time and I think we’ve seen [Music] that oh and that’s unfortunate you never like to see that happen on the competition floor especially when you have an athlete that’s doing such a strong performance like that Rebecca FS is down on the floor as she was closing out her last climb we were not sure what happened potentially on The Descent but Manan agones and Ric Larson will move back to the bike and we’ll wait to see if we hear anything about Rebecca [Music] vids the non agones as we’re past the 9 Minute Mark that she’ll now move into the lead position in this heat [Music] Larsson sitting in second behind Manan agones Emma McQuade was making a move on that last round and it looked like Emma McQuade on the box JPS was trying to save a little bit of time on how she was angling herself to the Box [Music] itself yeah it’s going to be interesting to see how the other athletes around um Rebecca and also deal with this because you know there’s clearly a lot of focus on her they’re going to be passing her every time Connie EBY you can see in the background they’ve just got to crack on with it even though there’s going to be part of them that’s thinking what on Earth has just happened Emma McQuade has moved into first ahead of Ric Larson and Manan agones and saving some time on the box that almost at hybrid angled off where others are facing it a bit but even you can see Linda kman is trying to do the same thing so Emma McQuade has now moved into the lead ahead of Manan agan and R Larson as Rebecca vidson is on her feet and back to the [Applause] bike Rebecca vids sitting in 15th after two events tied for 15th with Linda kishman as the medical team came over to Assessor final and this seems what happened here and you can see the left knee not even really just a buckle just grabbing the knee right after landing clearly in a lot of pain there but she is back on the bike that’s such a tough break for an athlete that’s put so much time into their training obviously and had had such a good run coming into that moment but good for her for continuing on I mean that’s a lot of grit that she’s showing there I hope that the nature of the injury is not too serious Lucy is an athlete and something like this happens mid and you feel like you can keep going what’s that line you ride for yourself in this situation yeah I mean I think with this it’s going to be very sort of movement specific obviously we’ve seen her do the echo we’ve seen her do the legless rope climb coming down a different way but it’s going to be interesting on the box jump Emma McQuay on her last set of box jums hand in the air time to beat has already passed so Claudia Gluck Will Survive another heat Emma McQuade and Emma McQuade will get it 12:05 and Linda kman has come up to pass both Manan agones and Rique lson you see on screen is Rebecca FS is down the [Music] line vidson trying to jump onto the box and immediately went back down to the ground Alisa Fano trying to close out her last round she’s in a battle with Andrea Solberg up there in Lane number two but it’s going to be fully on with sober five reps left to go2 officially Andrea sber Andrea sber will cross the finish line soberg has actually put herself in a 10th Place position after event two earlier this morning but not sure if she’ll be able to hold on to it yet with another heat left to go Crossing to finish out in Lane number one alen wz and we have one athlete left on the floor as Rebecca vids is getting parted off the competition floor Sylvia Scaro getting across just underneath the 1338 Mark 16-minute cap as Connie e sitting in 13 it’s looking to close out the third heat for the individual women and Emma mcade takes the heat but all thoughts are on Rebecca vids right now and MC 125 good enough for the Heat win the time of 11:51 will still stand of Claudia Gluk who basically did the same thing in event number one or event number two today where she took third overall from from the third heat as we have one more heat left to go Von steps down and it just a step down and the knee just gave [Music] way oh that’s hard to watch [Music] all right Heat number three done in the books obviously we’re hoping for the best news we can from Rebecca vidson but one final heat left to go here at the 2024 European semi-finals [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] go [Music] bigest woman in the world Laura H welcome to the LDC ldlc Arena here for the French Throwdown as the 2024 Europe semifinals is underway I’m Chase singer with Lucy Campbell laurren Smith will join us shortly as we are at individual women’s event number three your standings after two events Gabby mwa sitting on top the leaderboard with 197 points Amy Kringle sits in second Lura Horvath has moved all the way up into third Andreas Solberg holding on to that coveted 10th Place position but currently 11th in this event after three Heats so that might not stay the same seven rounds or time 10 Cal Echo Bike One legless rope climb 10 box ship overs at 24 in and another legless rope climb except for that seventh and Final Round they’ll go right to the finish line from the box Lucy your go rock steps to success sticking with what we’ve had yeah number one we’ve got knowing our pulling capacity 13 legless rope climbs it’s a high volume of legless roope climbs and second is pacing the box jump overs and Echo well enough that we can get straight back onto that rope laying assignments for the fourth and final heat of individual event number three about eight athletes inside the top 10 the one athlete sitting in second place in Lane number six that’s Amy Kringle with Moren hor let’s score down to Lauren Smith I was just catching up with Amy and her coach Fraser Mackenzie of team training plan in the warm-up area now she said that when you have an event that goes badly that includes something like rope climbs it’s natural to really focus on them but Fraser’s been slipping them into her programming on a regular basis throughout the year and she actually took steps away from live competition to focus on her weaknesses so so we believe that this is very much her year and she can take it by getting through this workout fourth and final heat individual women event number three underway 10 Cals on the Echo Bike Amy crle as you said sitting in second place with a second fourth place finish win a cross it World Tour visiting CrossFit Gyms all around the globe create an account and scan the QR code now or visit hustle up- app.com to enter it’s all it takes the drawing will take place June 20th 2024 you can see Laura Horvath who just won the previous event your 2023 games Champion Gabby mgala won the 2023 European semi-finals and this is the event we need to see Gabby perform well at yeah absolutely back in 2022 we had the 10 Rounds with the legless rope climb in and that was her weakest finish so it’ll be really good to see if these legless rope cles have improved at that kind of [Music] volume top TI to beat coming in Claudia Gluck all the way back from Heat number two 11550 back to the rig you’ve got Emma tall who is just walking up the Rope behind her is K frova down in Lane number 10 and boser she he can keep up that pace we may see a new time to beat here in Heat number four yeah I think it’s uh very possible that we’re going to see the top time set in this heat we’ve got a lot of competition pressure here and I think this is where lur is going to start to make a move and and widen the Gap em atal good performance so far sitting in fourth overall three time cross the games athlete and making quick work of those rope climbs are just very consistent over the last few years yeah definitely and you know you saw from that first one she’s got such good legless Rope time rope climb technique she really uses her legs to help give her that little bit of lift and little bit of momentum and take some of the pulling pressure off her arms emal left side of your screen moving in car fre over on her heels yeah no problem at all and like I was saying in the last Heat Chase emal right to the box full Attack Mode no hesitation that to me suggest a lot of confidence about the CL that she’s got coming up great hard for over Lane number 10 and nobody should be really surprised how well she can she could potentially do in this one no exactly again back in 20122 at Lan she sort of made a last Sprint in the last couple of rounds I think round seven to 10 to take that work out so she’s definitely not weak with this legless rope climb pool finishing up round number two moving into round number three Elena Cala closing out her second climb of the second round working her way up the Rope as F free over is working on her 10 Cals on the Echo by Laura Horvat started the day in seven event win now she’s in third second place last year at this semifinal won the CrossFit games last year in Madison Wisconsin and hoping to take that back to Fort Worth later in August now chase you always got to worry about an athlete that looks that composed on the Echo Bike I mean she looked like she was just Sunday Pace no big deal there that uh that’s something when you can maintain that round after round after round so we’ll see if she can hold that pace and cruise bosby just mentioned Dickies in this Arena here at ldlc it said there’s it’s take Arena but like two times x the size and atmosphere that we’re going to have in Fort Worth coming up in August yeah that’s right chase that arena is amazing you know it’s a relatively new Arena I believe it was built in 2019 the capacity is huge the competition floor is huge it really is an awesome blank canvas for what we’re going to put these athletes through at the games and when it comes to semi-final Arenas this is one of the nicest places I have ever been and it is the perfect atmosphere for a semi-final as car fre is working her way up the Rope to close out her third round seven total rounds in this event as you see Laura horbath and Jenny mure going head-to-head here to close out round number three as they move into round number four yeah J looked really strong coming up that rope and also like when we think back to the first event last year in fact you know the first day last year she’s not shy going up against these athletes in Linda she really took it to Annie to Gabby and were like she led through the first rounds and made them beat her so it’ll be good to see how she gets on in this event and matal back to the rope and man she looks so strong on those legless climes and we are past the fifth the five minute Mark as emal is going to those 10 box jovers at 24 in step down each side of the box I love it Jason you’re starting to see some athletes now take those Transitions and maybe I don’t need to run to the next station I’m just going to take a couple of strides get my composure and then make it make my way to the next exercise but in Emma tall’s case man she is just running to that next station Jaclyn dstr just finished her rope climb as Emma tall is working her way back already to close out round four here’s your top five jacn doam as we just mentioned sitting in the top five missed qualifying last year in 2023 here at the semi-finals in Berlin and the question is we just saw Amy cringle sitting his second overall but we haven’t mentioned her once so far in this event no but if this is a uh if this is a weakness event actually if she’s you know mid packed in this heat and the pace that is being set by Emma is so fast this is actually a good a good event for her Jaclyn Doom just cutting down that transition time chalk on the box jacn Doom who put put on an incredible performance at the 2022 games with one of the more iconic lifting events ever programmed with that sandbag event yeah always impressive to see an athlete with you know maybe the stature or the body type that you don’t expect to do so well in an event come out like that and put on such a show I think that’s one of the coolest things about CrossFit is that you know sometimes sure you can predict an Athletes Performance but there are plenty of times that the athletes come out and surprise us with just how well-rounded they are car and freen Lane number 10 working through her fifth round of legless climbs as Laura horbath is starting to close the gap between her and K frova but it is still Emma tall as Jaclyn dstm is trying to keep up with lurel Horvath but Emma tall closing out the fifth round with two rounds left to go and has yet to slow down as she is at 7 and A2 minutes two rounds left to go Claudia glux time of 11515 has held up to this point from Heat number twoa [Music] staying close but Lura horbath is closing the gap on car and fova so Emma leading this heat fourth and final heat for individual event number three working through the sixth round 10 cows on the Echo Bike har Freo and Laura horbath are sitting in second and third in this heat trying to keep Pace with him at all yeah that time from C is definitely going to go the last two split times from Emma versus Claudia have been a full minute quicker so it’s definitely looked like she’s going to demolish that time wow it be interesting to see how many of these women that she pulls with her you know like I was saying in the last it’s all sitting in fourth place sometimes it can be difficult when you’re out there on your own you don’t have other athletes pushing you and you know that you need to you know beat some of the athletes in the other heats the same is true when you have somebody out in front that can kind of pull you to a better time than you might have had if you didn’t have that rabbit to chase K fova trying to stay ahead of Lura Horvat K fova came into this event in 11th place overall one spot outside that 10th and final games qualifying position Andrea soberg had that spot did not have the event you would have thought she would have to secure that 10th spot even though we have three events tomorrow so car and fova with a good event here can move herself back into the top 10 as emit is working into her last round oh horo is closing the gap on frea she picked up the pace quite a bit on that last set of box jumps seventh and final round for Emma tall K fre overa working on her sixth round final climb and she’ll move in Lauren Laura horbath hot on freo’s heels but it is Emma tall oh no and no for Lura horbath oh and that’s so hard so late in this event when you’re fatigued you’re closing the gap on your competitors right back to it right back to it no hesitation Emma tall off the bike this is her last climb the seventh round ends on the box tall is done tall was in fourth place coming in wow and no question that she’s going to take that top time for the event and she may take the top position after this because Amy Pringle and Gabby mwa are nowhere to be seen relative to emal at the moment I think the benefit in this heat is that because emal is so far ahead even though you know emmer Amy and Gabby are far back they still have that buffer em matal will take the Heat and the event beating the best time by Claudia Glu by over a minute and here comes frea at the bottom part of your screen this is a needed place for her great run by Frey overa just consistent all the way through the event rova opportunity to get second in the event if she can stay ahead coming to the end Laurel horbath and Jacqueline dalstrom sorry Jenny mure Jenny mure for a horback oh wow rep for rep Jenny M might have the edge and she does look at that corot with another tough no rep at the last oh another no rrap for Horvat that’s two backto back in a row for Laura Horvat so execution being the problem for Laura at the end as Amy Kringle comes across the finish line that is huge for her and that is faster than the time that Claudia Glu set to beat all these times as you said faster than Claudia Gluck Gabby Goble right there and you see a little fist pump at the end and she knows how big that is for her yeah for sure wow and like you were saying I mean that’s a lot of damage control for Amy right if this is an event that she was a little bit worried about to do that well and know that some of the other events coming up you might be more confident that’s says a lot and what a what a great just boost of confidence going into the last day of competition three events still to go on Sunday so we’re only halfway through yeah it’s a psychologically different competition when you know fully half of the points are available on a single competition day so we’ll see it looks like Amy cringle on and I’m putting air close for those you don’t see us in the booth damage control potential fifth place finish wow in the event yeah that was great finish for am me Elena Cala on the right in the maroon and Miram Von Roar who is sitting in eighth place is in danger of getting last in this heat it seems that there’s one athlete still left out there as Miriam Von Roar is going to try to at least save a couple points here with a race to the Finish against Elena carala and I don’t think carala sees her her back is facing her the entire time where Bon Roar can see exactly where she’s at and then no rep the right call from the judge the athletes can taste the finish line and they jump down on that last rep and they get that no rep to get called back it’s the right call from the judge but man that’s hard as an athlet when you know you’re so close to the Finish solid call just that like I said BOS you’re racing to the Finish Line it’s the quickest way to get to the end but it’s not what the rules stand you do have to step off the Box on that last one might have been what happened to lower Horvath on that last box jump as well I didn’t see her second El last but I know on the last one her hand touched the box and that’s another no no can’t have anything other than the feet touching that boxma Emma T will take the win and even though there’s a few no Reps for L Horvath on the clim in the box and still taking fourth overall in this event this was literally just a clinic in Legas rope cles from emor like look every single rep was that smooth up and down the Rope which then means that because she’s got that confidence in those legless rope CLS she can afford to push the rest of them a little bit more than what the other athletes do obviously bz said you can tell how confident they are with this pulling Movement by how much she pushed the rest of them and she was just super steady from start to finish and even picked up towards the end really really good result remember smashing the third event and P frova who is 11th coming in second place in this so that is going to be great to set her up going into the third and final day of competition Jenny mure bouncing back with third place finish as she had fallen out of the top 10 she went from fifth to 17th in the last event so this should definitely be what she needed to end the day on a high know but no one’s higher right now than Emma tall who sits up top the leaderboard as far as event three is concerned she’s down with Lauren Smith Emma that was absolute domination how much confidence do you have to have in yourself and your ability to pull off a performance like that I think that workout for me was not about the road climbs it was more about just hard and consistent effort throughout the whole workout I feel like the word hard and consistent really sum you up I hear that offseason’s not been ideal so to come out onto the stage and be comfortably in top five at this stage what does that mean to you uh it means a lot it’s been up and down on the offseason I’ve been dealing with a lot of illness but my injuries has been better so I’ve also been able to work on weaknesses so I guess you take what you get and make the best out of it tomorrow obviously we’ve got a big full day of competition how do you attack that being in one of the positions to comfortably take a games ticket but not letting yourself get too comfortable uh I always look at CrossFit competitions like more of a marathon than a Sprint so I mean it’s we just done half of the events Anything Can Happen well keep smashing it congratulations emol ladies and gentlemen congratulations to emal what a way to end day number two still three events remaining get your cards out we’re punching tickets to the Crosset games next team competition closes the day for day number [Music] two e e e e e e e e e [Music] w w [Music] [Music] a [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] oh [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] right [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] two days of competition five events 10 teams are in the running for eight spots to the CrossFit Games I’m Chase Ingram with Lucy Campbell and Lauren Smith as the second Pat of three for team event five make their way to the floor and this is your team final four rounds for time five SLE bar muscleups per pair 10 worm cleaning jerks 15 burpees over the worm and a 12T lunge to the Finish Line Lucy you’re go Ruck steps to success for this finale number one as with anything to do with the worm communication is key and number two know your Cadence when it comes to those cleaning Jacks and The burpees over the worm and we said we had 10 teams in the running for eight spots of the games but really it’s just two teams buying for that eighth and final spot one of them is in this heat and that is in Lane number five Crosset kert is 23 points out of a qualifying position and that is the difference between in first and sixth place on the leaderboard the problem is being in this second heat exactly these guys are going to have to win and win with help do they need those spots between them and the guys in eight now not mathematically eliminated and have a chance themselves just right next to on cross it butcher lab chaos they’re sitting in 12th overall however crazier things have happened because with a four-point drop per place you got to make sure you have all your ducks in a row or else you’ll miss out in the CrossFit Games 82 of three the team finale event number five here in day number two we are crowning eight teams and giving them tickets to Fort Worth in August win AC CrossFit World Tour visiting CrossFit gyms around the globe create an account and scan the QR code now where you guys can visit hustle up- app.com to enter that’s all it takes drawing will take place on June 20th 2020 we’ve had four events on the team so far and we’ve gotten to the fifth and final one only two days of competition for the teams we are crowning eight qualifiers to the CrossFit Games after this as we have one more heat to go and Lucy you said is that Crosset GT needs to win and they need some help but it’s all starting with winning this heat to set yourself up for at least the best position you can but the problem is the team you’re trying to catch is watching everything you do in this heat exactly and that’s always the downside to being in the earlier Heats is that the ones coming after you have that time to beat the interesting thing looking at the different techniques on the cleaning jerks obviously chaos next to them started with Touch and Go reps you’ve got four rounds that’s an interesting tactic but they’ve had you know time to practice his workout you’re just hoping that that’s the right one round one is uh touch touch and go round one is always a a risky play you got four rounds full sense of security but it is Butcher lap Chaos on the left GT on the right men in the black women in the white and maroon they are in ninth place you’re taking eight teams to the games they’re 23 points back now it’s a four-point difference on every place on the leaderboard and the way it goes it’s four points actually all the way down to 14th Place so they don’t necessarily have to win although that always helps but as long as there’s six places between them and cross it holistic in this next event they still have a chance to go butcher lab chaos chaos advancing into the lunge 12T l lunge and then they’ll go back to the rig five Synchro muscleups with the pairs now the pairs are not designated you can have male female male male you can change every round it does not matter it just has to be two people doing Synchro together as kert advances and they’re holding on to third place in this heat I think the interesting thing about this workout is at this level the bar muscleups are more of an inconvenience than anything else the volume is not that high the athlet should used to that so it’s just something where you’re testing that Synchro in a gymnastics element even more so it’s it’s actually a break not even just you know a a mere speed bump in the road because you’re either resting on the back or you’re racing resting on the front end yeah exactly they’re probably quite glad for it to be honest butcher lab now going to singles on the worm as kert is falling behind they were second going to the rig they’re now falling back to third because in Lane number eight you have cross it butcher lab x so butcher lab x is moved into second in this heat so butcher lab is leading in heat to reminder we’ve got one more heat to go after this 10 Clean Anders with the worm 360 lb working together as a team after these 10 cleaners they’ll do 15 per herpes over the worm butcher lab x trying to keep Pace with their sister team as butcher lab chaos really the only team in this heat outside Crosset kert that has a mathematical shot at making the cross it games as butcher lab x is moved solidly into second place for anyone that’s uh not American watching 3 60 lb is 164 kilos oh yes yes so forget the uh worldwide audience we talking to butcher lap chaos left part of your screen judges hand in the air they need a win and they need a lot of help and their team butcher laap X is doing that by getting ahead AC cross inert for one and hopefully have a good enough time to get ahead of a couple teams in the next Heat as well 15 burpees over the worm are done as they’ll do a 12 foot Advanced lunge and Lucy one thing about this is the rep schem and the rounds there isn’t a whole lot of volume with any one of these movements that we’re doing and if that’s not really the Crux of this now you’re going to focus on really the intensity that you need to push but in a team setting unless you have everything dialed in that could spell disaster for your team if you can’t move that quick that you need to exactly all it takes is that like you know that one athlete that’s starting to lag behind takes a little bit longer to get to the floor on the burpees and that kind of thing someone else pops up a little bit early and all of a sudden you’re back to back on those no reps and trying to synchronize everything you’re always trying to synchronize to the pace of the slowest person at the same time trying to push them as much as possible to get the most out of them reter third place in this heat and they need to make some moves as we’re moving into the second half of this event with this four rounds Mor on cross at GT let’s go down to Lauren Smith cheers Chase yeah GT actually a three out of the four athletes that came 11th at last year’s semi-final on the nigun team I’m sorry I completely just butchered that but these guys have been in this bubble spot they know what it means to drop out of the top 10 which happened last year this time they’re obviously trying to climb back into it they know how to deal with the pressure but to be in the same position again it must be brutal [Applause] working into our third round of clean and jerks 10 reps here your leader center lane Center of your screen butcher SLB chaos in 12th Place overall and they need a top finish at this point being in 12th knowing they’re taking eight spots but the point differential between them in that eighth place position they’re going to have to win this event outright not just just this heat as Crosset G continues to fall further and further behind both butcher lab teams now Lucy where do you gain time with when things are so short right the muscleups you’re not really gaining maybe on the cleaners maybe the only opportunity is those burpees but like you said to ride that line 100% it’s those extra little seconds where you obviously drop the worm you’re looking at it before you pick it up and at the same time you know the purpose of those pauses on the floor and everything like that the pauses before you lift the worm is to make sure that everyone is Synchro so that you know you don’t get any costly no reps if someone starts to lift the worm and you’re not completely in sync that worm goes from being 160 kilos to feel like it’s a 200 kilo worm and that you know the impact of that is massive we talked about chaos as butchers lab advances just outside the left part of your screen we talked about them doing touch and go and if was a good choice or not and that seems to be actual the time difference between them and the other teams as then were the only ones to do it but they also didn’t do it in round two so I think that’s the thing maybe they did it to get a bit of a lead knowing that actually exactly can keep that pace going for the rest of it even though they go from doing Touch and Go reps to doing coordinated singles then actually that’s the best way for them to get ahead and then be able to push ahead speaking of getting ahead actually cross it GT has moved ahead of butcher lab x who is finishing their lunge so GT is clawing back a little bit at least they are not in third anymore but they are still falling well behind CrossFit butcher lab chaos who just get off the rig right at the moment and one thing too Lucy is that we said is that at least through first and 14th Place every place is a four-point drop yes it would be nice to win however maybe in this heat gur gets second this is a time that stands team holistic still has to get within six spots of that to keep their game’s position so it doesn’t necess have to be first or nothing no but obviously the difference the thing is the bigger the difference in time frame between the first and them in second in this event the more time they have to get in that space so you really want that to that Gap to be as close as possible so that then you’re not giving loads of time for the teams in the next Heat to get between G and Chaos who win the [Music] [Applause] Heat Cur on the right putcher slap Chaos on the [Music] left we approaching the 10-minute mark chos in this round the time to beats 11:57 by cross at 10K Capital we are inching closer to that final lunge to the Finish five reps left to go for chaos GT is on the burpees nobody else is on the burpees just yet so kert solidly in second in this heat now it’s just a case of trying to keep together and stay organized because this is where you start to see those no reps happen one person starts to pick up a little bit more than everyone else and all of a sudden their chest is off the floor and everyone else is down 12T line Lun to the finish for CrossFit butcher lab chaos and they will set the new time to beat by over a minute 104.9 4 GT 23 points out of a qualifying position they need to get across the Finish Line as fast as they can they cannot afford another place to get ahead of them as there is already one they should have time to do it asert will cross the finish line and that’ll be enough for second in the heat so they will have the second best time so far as they are trying to put up a time to try to LEAP rout cross it holistic who is coming up in the third [Music] heat cross it jst will come across the finish line so jst actually moved up ahead of butcher lab x [Applause] five teams done five left to [Applause] go Lane number two Crosset llo rer fer cross it janas we get across the finish line CRF can CrossFit can is done two teams left on the floor one on the burpees up in Lane number three top part of your screen Frost it forb and working through their last set of bures over the worm in Lane number 10 that’s Frost it 77 ft orange bbana is done across the finish line [Music] [Music] rossit 77 ft orange finishing up their last set of burpees 3 minutes before we hit the time cap your time was set in this heat cross it butcher slap chaos 1040 the mer trying to do everything they can to get give themselves an opportunity to make up those 23 points on cross at holistic who’s sitting in that eighth place position as kert was in [Music] ninth 23 points is honestly not a lot to make up we’ve seen a lot of teams have a finish outside that top 15 top 20 that are sitting on that bubble you just got to hope that that doesn’t happen again in this final Heat and that’ll wrap it up for these teams in Heat number two congratulations butcher lab chaos takes the heat sets the time to beat as crit kert can just sit back and wait and watch and try to see if that time is good enough to possibly overtake cross at holistic in the upcoming Heat so we saw butcher lab chaos do those Touch and Go reps in the start but then switch the singles through the uh wor cleaning jerks lunging across the line into the second round they LED from start to finish we’re pretty smooth through the whole event not really challenged by anyone muscle ups no problem as I said more of an inconvenience or a rest in this volume and then lunging to the line in the last round to finish first and unofficial time of 11:57 Crosset butcher lab kof takes the heat sets the time to beat at 10 40.94 Crosset GT your Ninth Place team 23 points out of that eighth and final qualifying spot as at a time of 11:06 as we have our final heat 10 teams to close out competition here for the teams for the 2024 Europe Regional [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] fourth and final heat of the team competition for the fifth and final event here at the French Throwdown for the teams as we are going to Crown a champion set a Podium and D dish out eight tickets to the cross it games I’m Chase singing with Lucy Campbell and Lauren Smith your standings right now they’re taking the top eight cross it Pana creger is safe top the leaderboard at 365 go all the way down to e cross it holistic at 258 23 point [Music] or our 19point Edge on Crossett gmer closer than we thought coming in and then blueprint CrossFit just behind them at 25 points and this is what we have to close things out for the teams four rounds for time five Synchro muscleups per pair 10 worm cleaning jerks 15 burpees over the worm and a 12T lunge to the Finish Line Lucy steps of success we saw it happen twice how about the third time any changes no exactly the same communication is key know your Cadence we saw in the last Heat that uh chaos knew they could get away with some touch and go reps and still hold that pace so they clearly knew themselves and we’ll see how many here do the same your lane assignments for the fourth or fifth and final event cret holistic will be in Lane number one they are holding that eighth and final spot to the CrossFit Games and nipping at their heels Not only was it kert in the previous heat but blueprint cross it is there as well cross it holistic sitting with a bit of a buffer needs to finish fifth or better to guarantee a spot to the CrossFit Games final heat is off and underway 10 teams one event to decide which H will be heading to Fort Worth Texas in August win a cross it World Tour visiting Crosset gyms around the globe create an account and scan the QR code now or visit hustle up- app.com com to enter it’s all it takes the drawing will take place on June 20th 2024 the Lanes on your screen top to bottom first is cross it holistic at the top part of your screen they’re sitting in eighth place they’re trying to hold off Lane nine blueprint CrossFit they are 25 points out of a qualifying spot them just like gers needs to finish as high as they possibly can and they’re going to need seven teams to get between them and cross it holistic all cross it holistic has to do is their job and it’s that not let other teams decide their fate and make them get themselves a top position so they don’t have to be looking over their shoulders for the next 16 minutes the interesting thing about this is obviously in almost opposite sides of the floor so they’ll be trying to be aware of them but realistically you know unless someone is Con consistently watching them they’re not really going to know where they’re at not in terms of that rep forre um ability [Music] anyway Lane number three CrossFit Oslo blast all three Oslo teams in this heat are in a qualifying position mathematically look pretty safe and they’re all next to each other left to right cross at Oslo Riz cross at Oslo blasting cross at Oslo pixel just absolute Dynasty they’re producing over there over the last couple of [Music] years 15 burpees over the worm once they finish this so get the worm the shoulders and lunge 12 ft to the next section and then he’ll Advance back to the rig for five Synchro muscleups per [Music] pair blueprint center part of your screen first to advance the work DET this is exactly what they need to do to give themselves a chance to get to the cross it games 25 points back of Lane one cross it holistic five Synchro bar muss any pairs any mix you can change round to round Synchro at the top of the rep at the lockout interestingly the uh aod guys touch and go the first set on those cleaning jerks so it’ll be interesting to see whether they hold that through at the same time it looked like the burp place was a little bit steadier so that might have been as a result of doing those Touch and Go reps whereas a lot of the other teams are going singles and then pushing the burpees in terms of that pacing and Lucy as you said they’re doing it again touch and go for 10 for blueprint we saw in the previous heat butcher slap chaos do that but only for the first round however the time they saved was enough to keep their distance between them and GT as a quick break there to singles with three reps so it might have been five or six reps touch and go and then finish the rest singles it was six Touch and Go looks like it’s four singles didn’t see whether or not they did that on the first round so it would be interesting to look back ristic who’s over in Lane number one is trying to fend off this team cross it blueprint Team aod 25 points out of a qualifying position Crosset GT in the previous heat who has the second best time with 23 points and you see holistic doing everything they can what looks like right now is just just hold on to that position which is not a fun position to be in no never fun being the one chased 100% you want to be the Chaser you get that little bit more kind of confidence but it’s interesting as well cuz when you look back I’m sure we’ll come back to them most teams will grab the worm and then shift it towards their feet so then it’s lighter in that first like deadlift portion of the cleaning Jer they were just pulling it straight off the floor which means that there was just a little bit of lag everywhere um and it’s just made each each rep look a little bit more labored than the uh aod Team see they did it there on the right you get that little shift so that it’s more towards the midline of the body and then you get a nice looking clean L print CrossFit on the right side of your screen is doing what they need to do as we are halfway through this four round event we are just past the 5 minute Mark the time to beat is 10:40 so not only are they leading this heat but they are on Pace to beat the time by cross it butcher lab chaos after got to stay synced at the top as the guys will take the first leg of these Synchro bar muscleups and get to rest a little bit on the back end holistic advances their worm currently sitting in fifth in this heat with two other teams nipping at their heels two very good teams as well in Lanes six and Lane seven and that’s cross at Walley and C2 2 three CrossFit so holistic is starting to slip or let that slip [Music] away alistic on the left five Synchro bar muscleups with their second pair to go on the Right Touch and Go Again for blueprint CrossFit I wonder if they go on breaking for all 10 reps NOP there we go singles from now but it looks like they’re sticking with the six six touch and goal four singles and Lucy as you said as the bag hits the ground they’ll pull it on top of their feet first and you’re saying that’s just to get a little bit of a a better grip and a closer position for the bag itself yeah it’s the same as if you were to lift the sandbag if you lifted a sandbag and it was in front of your feet it would feel a hell of a lot heavier as soon as you shift it towards you so it it’s between your feet then it feels a lot lighter because you’re lifting it through the center of your body obviously you can’t have the worm between your feet but you can have it as close to your feet as close to your body as possible blueprint CrossFit doing everything they can to try to close the gap of those 25 points more on them we’ll go down to Lauren Smith so two years ago this aod team had the final games ticket in hand only to throw it away on the final workout where Michael Allen their team captain at the time had ruptured his hamstring and couldn’t cope with the assault Runner the year later they came back and Lois unit who is at the back of this worm right now she had a severe injury and they had to withdrawal before the event even began so if you want to question their desire I think that ax is pure enough motivation for this performance thank you Lauren could we see a third time a charm moment for cross it blueprint who has one rep left to go they’ll pick up the bag lunge 12T to close out their third round as we are inching towards that 8 Minute Mark the time to be beet 1040 set by butcher lab chaos in the previous heat it looks like am mer also in a little danger here because the team behind him only by two points is doing very well in this heat fourth and final round for cross blueprint CrossFit alistic on the left holding on to that eighth spot holding on to a 25 point lead to that team on the right CrossFit blueprint first two male athletes done with the first five stinco bar muss now it’s the women’s turn frostfit holistic just to the bar but they are behind about three or four teams CrossFit gimbert’s time of 11:06 is still the second best time we’ve seen and this is a time that blueprint CrossFit is hoping can actually play to their favor by sneaking in between them and cross it holistic touch and go again on the right side of your screen for the last round of cleaning jerks and you can see that it is taking its toll and that is a costly no rep with five to go cracking that door just a little bit for CrossFit holistic smart move just to go straight to the singles rather than trying to do the last two touch and go again so they’ve just defaulted to what they know worked but holistic looks like they’re just catching them a little bit you see the hands on the knees before they pick it up just the gaps between each rep and this was what I was talking about in terms of cadence you can see it now that’s just not the same Cadence that they were holding in the earlier round this is where the patique is really starting to set in and we’ll see it on the burpees just taking that little bit longer to get to the floor every rep that’s opening the gap for holistic cross it holistic on the right left side of your screen is trying to stay as close as they can to blueprint CrossFit on the right blueprint are 40 seconds away from the best time they’re going to have to pick up the pace or they’re going to lose two valuable point or positions that they need they need to beat cross it holistic by at least seven spots they need seven teams between them and holistic two of those times when the previous heat matters gimbert’s time is 11:06 but laap time is 10:40 buter lap time looks like it’s not going to be passed so now we’re dropping to that GT time of [Applause] 11:06 but at the same time Lucy if they don’t get ahead of gimmer now this is great for them yeah this is going to be tight this is going to be very tight miscommunication another one and another one costly seconds they are 16 seconds away from gimbert’s time gimmer watching from the sideline bodying their nails and another mistake from blueprint and just like that they lose that position cross it Oso blast comes through that’s unfortunately two seconds faster than gimbert wanted but gimbert now has the third best time and here comes H listic holistic top part of your screen is going to go to the CrossFit Games [Music] unbelievable finish for blueprint CrossFit we thought they had done what they needed to do they were in a position but CrossFit holistic closed as hard as they could on the last round to put them in a position to make the CrossFit Games and that is always where you start to see that communication fall apart everyone in that aod team wanted that so badly clearly they’re dead on the floor right now and yet it’s those little things in terms of when are we lifting the worm that means that one person lifted first all of a sudden there’s that miscommunication the worm is horizontal or at least diagonal to the floor and then you’ve got to reset it [Applause] all cret holistic who look like they were in the back half of this event about halfway through must have looked around figured out talked talk to each other I don’t know how you can with the music and the crowd and the teams and everybody screaming but they got it together on that last round as blueprint CrossFit about fell apart at the seams when they put themselves in a position and it all came down to one Burpee over the worm in that final lunge as cross it py who is sitting in 11th will cross the finish line and that’ll close it out and cross it holistic who doesn’t officially know the scor is hoping at that [Applause] effort as they had to beat and this was it Helen thinking that they were done OJ coming up to early all of a sudden up down and then they finished it oh that’s hard you can see it they had it they know they had it costume mistake at the end not just on that Burpee but on the lunge too trying to get the sandbag to the shoulders you’re can to see the how much it means to these athletes how much work that goes into it Lucy you know better than anybody else of what it takes to get here and to be so close and to have something like that happen is just heartbreaking it is heartbreaking especially because that aod team the last two years they have been through so much like you know Lauren said it earlier two injuries two different years different athletes that was looking like it was going so well and then you started to see you started to see glimpses of you know real fatigue in round three people were slowing down going to the floor and that kind of thing and then round four just at the end alistic on the left side of your screen this is early on in the halfway point and we thought that blueprint was about to run away with this entire thing and leave ballistic behind absolutely they look so slick on that worm every rep the worm is in line it is so clean and then just here it couldn’t look more opposite that just mistake at the end loss it solid 7 to 10 seconds there even more so getting the worm to their shoulders and then getting across the Finish Line as they look over to the right and they see the team that they were trying to beat had finished already just behind him they know they needed more than one spot and holistic just came through and stayed as close as they needed to and it looks like they had done enough butcher lab chaos will take the event ker blast in second gurt tried to throw a Hail Mary as well as they were third and fourth but holistic did exactly what they needed to do solidifying that fifth place spot in this event they had to finish at least six or seven spots between the teams respectively now all that is fine to say I would I wouldn’t say I’m the best at math so don’t just believe me yet as we uh finalize the leaderboard finalize the scores here don’t go anywhere we are going to give you the eight teams who will be representing the Europe semifinal next [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] their way back to the CrossFit Games and here are your final standings CrossFit prand gger 448 dominant fashion over CrossFit walleye three Oslo teams pixel blast and Riz butcher lab a staple at the games representing Denmark c23 CrossFit and Crossfit h ISC four Swedish teams three Norwegians and a Danish team making their way to the games and Lauren Smith is down on the floor with your 2024 Europe semifinals Champion CrossFit for St I am Maria the 2024 European semifinal Champions how does that sound it sounds amazing where’re I’m super happy about this and super proud over my teammates and I think we had a really good weekend and super proud of you Victor this time last year after 10 years you finally booked your ticket to the CrossFit Games how does it feel to be able to say I can back that up yeah it feels really good uh we had a pretty good year last year as well but then I told Maria after the last semi-final that next year we’re going to win the semi-final than we did so yeah we’re happy Alexandra you’ll be heading to your sixth CrossFit games where does that kind of longevity come from especially in the team division uh I think it’s most that I kind of like playing around with Crossfit with friends so and have a good and a lot of good and fit CrossFit friends around me they like to do the same thing as me uh and we get along really good together and these past few years before we went to games last year and me and Victor started train a lot together and understood that we can do this good and we like to do it together and it feels like something want to continue doing and getting better together as well even though we’re not super young anymore so feels nice Lisa you’re new to the team and you will have watched them take a top 10 finish at the CrossFit games from what you’ve seen could this team push for top five and Beyond yeah pretty good I didn’t hear what he say but but we’re super happy to be here with a great group of people and have you enjoyed the experience of coming to team and booking your ticket to the CrossFit Games it’s a dream come true so I’m really happy to beet him with this team guys thank you so much enjoy your moments congratulations to CrossFit for taking the first place here at the European semifinals and look the European teams just seem to get stronger and stronger every year and we’ll see if that translates even more so at the games come in August yeah you know I I always want to see the uh the Europeans doing well uh that’s pretty clear um it’s also very clear where the center of teams are in Europe all of those Scandinavian teams Denmark Norway Sweden I think it’s you know if you want to be an elite level team athlete you know where to go yes yes well Pana takes the win but let’s talk about the last team in Lauren Smith is down with Crossfit holistic I am indeed CrossFit holistic just how stressful was that final event for you really really stressful when they call out your name over the loudspeaker and you booked that ticket that final spot what was the overriding emotion yeah it was just great we when working hard and we are a real affiliate team with no coach and we had a really bad start so this feels amazing now I know the two of you have been once before but we’ve got some first time all right looks like it looks like everybody’s getting tired on the competition floor including our floor mic as we’ll get back to cross at holistic in just a second they have earned that uh that time in front of the camera as we get things reset here for them but is that what I like there is that talking about hey we’re a full-time real affiliate team versus say super teams or camps or conglomerates is whatever adjective you want to call to describe these teams and it’s good to see that still in the mix in the team competition yeah I would say that in in Europe it’s not as prevalent having super teams as it is in in the States you know we’ve got uh c23 motion the program that’s a mixed team you’ve got wall which is a mixed team but actually the majority of those other teams they are fully affiliate teams it just so happens that you’ve got this big training CL camp like krier based out of Oslo and so although it looks like they’ve got this super team it is a super team made out of you know legitimate affiliate athletes cross and holistic got that eight and spot to the games in dramatic fashion too if you guys if you’re just tuning in for the award ceremony when it’s all said and done you guys got to go back and see how cross it holistic got there and let’s go back down to cross it holistic we’re back the microphone’s working again this is your first ever time going to the CrossFit Games it’s going to be in Texas kind of what’s the emotions going through your mind right now uh really excited to be there and compete and uh yeah yeah you were saying that for you both it feels a little bit like a first time again why is that so last time we qualified was during the covid period so we kind of like at first didn’t know if we’re going to be able to get into the us and we went to Mexico did that two weeks and it was stressful so we’re going to enjoy it more now I want to know what the affiliate party is going to be like when you guys get back to base uh what does you say the affiliate party that you’re going to have celebrating this ticket what’s it going to be like I don’t know just uh maybe when we come home we’re going to throw a mega wood with all our members and just have some fun together train and just enjoy this well enjoy it tonight as well guys thank you so much and massive congratulations yes congratulations to CrossFit holistic and all our teams who qualified for the CrossFit games but it is not done the team competition ends today but the individual competition is heating up we have three events tomorrow to see which 10 men which 10 women will make their way to Fort Worth Texas in August closing out action we’ll be back 1. When in video it is shown that Laura Horvath completed event 3 in 11: 37, when on CrossFit website it shows 11:22 as completed time. Did I miss something in change of rules.

    2. Are you kidding me?!!that Rebecca chick was down for so long and NO ONE HELPED HER?! how in the actual fuck do these events not have a medical crew AT THE READY! what an absolute failure

    3. why the hell did they not take Vitesson out of the event immediately. Her reaction after the rope climb was entirely consistent with a blown ACL/MCL. Fitness and medical professionals should have been able to see that in the moment and should have known better than to let her carry on.
