been going on going to have a bit of a pitch update over the last sort of 10 days now B today it’s actually a Sunday it came in just for 5 minutes to grab something but I couldn’t resist the camera is here I thought soic we’ll do a bit of a pitch update so how has May been the first week of May well actually to be fair last week or so it’s been pretty quiet we have sold some cars I wouldn’t say we’ve been on fire in fact it’s probably one of the slowest periods we’ve had since we’ve been here since August last year so we’ll have a quick look around the pitch because there’s quite a bit if this happened we’ve got quite a lot of stuff that’s turned up and actually to be honest with the pitch is absolutely Ram packed with cars unfortunately not enough of them on sale and too many of them sort of in limbo so we’ll have a quick look round about that see what’s come in have a chat what we sold and I have another story about a character that has shown up to the garage a long lost character who used to come to a previous business of mine which I thought was basically I thought he was dead to be honest but any talk more about that later on right let’s have a little bit of a mooch around the pitch it’s lovely day today it’s a Sunday I popped in for like I said for a few minutes and I thought s it we’ll do a bit of filming now usually this should be the point where I’d say well we’ve got we full upend the reason why we got no room is because we got loads of Soul cars out we can’t get the soul cars out I have to say actually to be honest with you we’ve got ahead of the game we’ve got the soul cars out but then what I’ve then done is replaced it full of other stuff which is not on sale so now we’re going in this position where we’ve got too many cars not on sale and not enough on sale and as you can see it’s blocking up the yard so we’re going to have to make some efforts this week to get some stuff off site I’ve already got some irons in the fire in order to do that so let’s have a quick look about what’s arrived first thing you’re going to notice is this beautiful little 1 Point for Ponto well it will be beautiful when it’s finished uh it’s arrived literally raw for yesterday from a dealer friend of mine a little 201 plate GP model I think it is or an EVO One I can never remember on these pontos 14 I think if I’m wrong I’ll put it here they’re usually one twoos fours most of fours by this sort of year it’s nice old thing not worth a great deal of money these to be honest with you compared to sort cses of a similar year but they are good sellers and I do like the freedo ones they do always look well this one does need quite a bit of work but it was very cheap only give about just over 500 pound for it few things you’re going to notice straight away Wheels could do have a refurb on them I’ve got an idea for them what I’m going to do with the car I’ve sported one of these up before and I don’t mean in a chaby way I mean there’s actually they do a model where it’s got like a sort of black wheels on and the and the sticker pack and the roof and I’ve done that a few times on these and done really well out of them and you can just charge a little bit more money for them and they usually get the youth in and the youth will buy them so I’m going to try that again on this one so anyway we’re going to get those Wheels painted that’s definitely going to be happening also as well we need to change the wind screen not sure if you can can quite see here but we’ve got a great big big old crack going along that wind screen I’m not sure it’s picking up on the camera there is a big old crack there and obviously that needs to addressing we can’t sell a car like that with a big crack in the windscreen we also need some paint as well so the paint man’s going to get a couple of quid out of me not too much on this to be honest it’s only a little bumper corner here so we’re going to have that touched in and blown into the back bumper and touch those little bits in as well we also need to repaint the Bonnet as well which isn’t that noticeable at first when I sort of use this shot here you’re probably thinking what’s wrong with the Bonnet when you get close you can actually see it’s got lack Appeal on it and uh put it being white it’s not so obvious but when you get close you can see it so it does need the Bonet painting my paint man loves painting bonnets that’s a joke by the way but that definitely needs doing so that’s another job for him other than that really just wants a bit of a valet it’s done about I think it’s done 999,000 M it does want a couple of Springs on it I noticed that when I moved it off the truck it’s down for a couple of Springs in not needed very common on these to be honest it w valid but it will make a car little cheap car first car for someone this sort of thing it sells for $24.95 like I said compare it to cores or fiestas of that sort of era you got a lot more car for a little money also needs that badge sorting out as well that badge is all fall apart so we’ll have to sort that out as well but it’ll make a car 500 quid we can chuck a rook of money of that and make it a nice thing a nice look car for someone dead simple to work on as well which is always good moving on we’ve got a little Mazda 2 that’s going partx um I’ve traded that on to someone I’ve got that for anot sort it out for him that is being traded on we’re not retailing that because it’s had some welding underneath and it’s not really it’s a bit too ropey underneath we’ve got it through a test but it’s not something that we would sell because that’s not that’s not I can’t sell that with confidence to someone that that’s going to you know not need a Rooker money spending on it next year it’s a bit too crusty underneath it’s got too many vises on it to me warrant to be sort of retailing that sort of car it’s not sort of thing that I would just be selling to be honest with you not putting a name to that one so that is a trade on car we’re just going to get a little bit of profit out of it and move it on this thing is coming the other day as well and I’ve never ever bought one of these in this shape this is a Hyundai Ascent now the Hyundai Ascent is basically based on ikia Rio which I bought many of those but these weren’t that popular and it’s not really a car that I would usually buy on the grounds basically that well it’s not the best looking of things let’s be honest however there is a good reason why I bought this car and I’ll show you it’s simply because what’s in the middle of it a stick shift it’s an auto it’s a 1.4 petrol automatic with done 50,000 Mi now it’s been bought off an old boy VI a friend of mine who’s a Trader uh and he’s thought this would be right up my street and I didn’t pay a great deal for it but it does need quite a bit of work does need paint it needs paint on the back bumper it needs paint on the back water it just wants tidying up once he’s been paint mirror as well mirror’s got a big ho in it as you can see from the lovely bit of Gaff tape that’s on it as as the rule goes if it’s uh not fixed you’ve not put enough gaffa tape on it but it will make a car it does Drive look there’s got some uh rock music on as he’s driving past it does drive very well habit up the road in it the box is running lovely it’s an old CBT type box that’s good news so we’re going to service it we’re going to change the Box fluid in it all the filters make it a proper car put some new tires on the front cuz they’re as bold as a badger get it all painted and then we’ll finally have a automatic car on sale not maybe not the best looking of ones but a reliable n less well-maintained small automatic car which I’m going to put a price on and if people might think it’s dear but that’s fine because real is that car with anot on it looking well all painted up it’s probably 2 half th000 quid in the current market it’s B me I don’t make the rules up but that’s the reality of the current market situation and will we sell it yes we we’ll probably sell it within a week z r come across any small autos at the moment but when you get one they’re not going to rang around long so we’ll see how we develop with that one we’ll come back to that in a week or two when it gets back from paint moving on we’ve got some new arrivals in ignore my car we’re not talking about my car keep getting asked about that we’re not interested in that we’re dealing cars under five grand here U just couldn’t park on the road today oh bu be hello uh a IO got an IO in been M to death for iOS and c1s we sold all our c1s and iOS over the last couple of weeks we had about three or four in at one point and then we sold a couple got a couple more in then we had a bit of a drought not had any for about 10 days in trying to buy them struggling then this one came up friend of mine an old friend actually from my previous business Ram me up I’ve got an I go do you want to buy it boom I was there straight down paid him for it give good money for it I’ve not I’ve not nicked it but it is a nice thing low mileage it’s about 56,000 Mi blue in five door as well lovely lovely car I just give it a quick clean and put it on sale it does need work I’ll be honest with you it wants a clutch it definitely needs a clutch which we’re going to do but for now I’ve just popped it up of a price in the window and basically if anyone wants to come put the name down on it they can we obviously are going to do the clutch in it it’s going to want new tires on the front we’ll end up doing the brakes we’ll end up doing all the seals on the back end doing the clutch I’ve explained this many times what we do to these we got them we know where all the issues are with them we eradicate them fix them they go out right and that will be a real nice examp it is a nice example but it’ll be a lovely example when we’re finish with it like I said it’s an IO one so You’ got Alloys on it and he said you’ve got uh rev oh you haven’t got rev counter oh that’s not spoil that on it but it’s got Alloys on it and um yeah it’s a nice thing want a bit more of a cleanup I said we just thrown a bucket of water over it for now and a quick Hoover out just to get it on sale for the weekend we’ll under seal it as well we’ll do all those usual things it doesn’t need any paint which is brilliant cuz I’m sick of having stuff sent to paint at the moment and uh up for $23.95 low mileage car with a new clutch in it and all the serviceing we’re going to do to it definitely going to fly out the door that I’d be amazed if that’s still live by the end of the week moving on Focus that was potentially going to end up here I bought this from auction with intentions to bring it here and put it on sale I’ve decided against it it’s a bit Miley done 130,000 so I’ve decided driving it it drives really well but I’ve just decided to be honest with you it want a belt doing I’ve got no history with it or anything like that I’ve just decid it’s just not for me I’m going to I’m just going to trade it on which is a shame so we’re going to clean that up but I’ve traded it on and hopefully we’ll squeeze a little bit of profit out of it will be a lot be a drink money 150 quid out of it but we haven’t done anything to it more than just give it a quick wash and we can just pass it on in the trade so not for me that one like I I’m not great fan of going sort of above the 120,000 mile Mark the OD diesel are will but they need to have a bit of history about them and that one hasn’t got it it’s a bit lacking so we’re going to move that one on fact we already got a buyer lined up for that all being well mariva that sold last week we sold that last Saturday was it Monday NOP last Monday we sold that sorry uh that is a not been with us that long had quite a bit done to that we had um fir housings changed on it we had to do a big service on it flush all the system out of it do all that that’s now fixed clean it all up it’s had Wishbone arms on it brake servicing done on it it’s had quite a bit to be fair all ticketed just needs a quick valot on the Tuesday when they collect it the customer and away it goes nice things a 14 petrol non-turbo I will not buy the turbocharged ones cuz they are crap and blow up um but these ones steer wheel not straight that’s annoyed me 14 TCH lines it’s got heated seats heat steering wheel you know it’s a nice thing nice car for little family bus for someone and uh hopefully customer Pi out Tuesday so and a subscriber as well which is always a bonus other things have happened was not much else really I can talk to you about what you’ve already seen to be honest um I’m going to drop the price on me little mini that’s going to go down a couple hundred quid or 150 quid I think in a few days cuz we’ve uh well it’s not moving and we get a lot of interest in it but no one sort of puts a name down on it so maybe it’s the price so I’m going to have a go with that dropping that in a day or so little I 10 this is back on sale might wonder why this is back on sale this was a little low mileage one we had on a week or so ago literally on sale within 24 hours we sold it customer um bought it basically long story short you can’t get grips of it it’s come out of an auto gone into a manual and he can’t get to grips of it uh so he’s asked as kindly we could take it back obviously you know if it was faulty that’ be our problem but it’s not faulty he just doesn’t you just can’t get scripts with the car so we’re actually going to resell it for him uh we don’t mind doing that on this occasion you know it’s a reliable thing he’s actually improved it for us as well cuz he’s had the wheels painted behind the Steels he’s done himself he’s got some nice new trims for it he’s buffed it again for us which is really good of him and he even found some of the missing service history which is brilliant as well which I I struggled to get hold of I couldn’t get it but he managed to do it so he’s uh well probably could give him a job to be fair but that’s now back on sale it’s back up the same price it was on on for we’ve already had bites on it as well which is good news it’s prob be amazed if that’s on sale for very long cuz like I said it’s only done about 40 odd th000 miles genuine car with history so real real nice example other than that we’ve seen pretty much out what’s here uh this is sold though mini this is the other car we sold the other day in fact we sold this yesterday sorry little mini one wasn’t actually on sale never actually put a price in it put a board in it afterwards saying sold cuz I’m just uh showing off but um we sold it guy came in and he wanted a cheap car I think he came with his his sister I think he was he was with and um lovely people and he just just want a cheap car and uh they were looking at layons and stuff like that they’d gone out and you know had some bad time seeing stuff and P stuff misdescribed or scams on eBay and sorry on Facebook anyway the lady was drawn to this one she was asking about it when it be ready I just pled the price out of my head as thought you know what 19.95 thought that was a fair price it’s the same price as the other one it’s a year newer but to be honest with you the other one’s a little bit too dear anyway so that’s about right it’s done about 104 or 5,000 Mi we’ve had to fix an oil leak on it which we’ve done I know it wants suspension arm bushes which on these are absolute ball late to do cuz you have to take the subframe off but it needs doing so blame we’re going to do all that and we’ll try our best to get it out to it towards the end of next week which we going to try and do it’s got a nice wage it’s got some nice wages in it cuz we took it in part X about 600 Quid but the intention was to get rid of it at auction we weren’t going to retail it cuz I’m not a fan of minis to be honest with you however after fixing the oil leak and driving it I decided that I would have a go with it so I might they might be my famous last words who knows but I’m sure we can get it right for her to honest I’ve got a good feeling about this one I think we should be okay and uh we can get that ready for this week I’ll be pleased with that so that is our main goal for Tuesday get that sorted and sort of in the ramp and you know start the process of getting ready for the customer other than that really not much else is really happened we got a corser dropped off which I haven’t really looked at yet uh everything else over here you’ve already seen I’ve got stuff here that needs needs to move um you know I’ve got Safir now I need to get rid of and it’s have to go to auction or trade it on I’ve got Polo which we can’t fix we give up with that I’ve now returned the money on that one to the customer that was a shame cuz we spent a bit of money on that but this is the one I’ve tried everything on I mentioned it in update a few weeks ago we’ve done everything I had loads of suggestions as well which I’m really grateful for but we’ve tried injectors we’ve tried changing throttle bodies we’ve tried we’ve found briers that are broken we’ve repaired them and rep placed them no difference it still will not idle properly it runs brilliant for about a minute a minute and a half and then goes rough idle when it comes off its cold start and we can’t fix it and it’s got to the point now where I’d rather to say it to auction blow a couple hundred quid on it than carry on wasting money in time it’s about the time you know it doesn’t matter if we spent £300 more on it and cured it the amount of time it’s taking it’s not it’s not just the pound Shillings and Pence were spending it’s that the time as well and that is just costing us too much now to the point where I’d rather just get the money back in throw into something else and reinvest it if you like into something else it’s a shame because I’ve never really had any issues with these polos but there you go once in a while these things happen so uh it’s a shame that one that’s going to have to go to watch and probably this week we get rid of that get that sent off the evoke the wife’s evoke that is here wheels are uh Missing not been stolen don’t worry they’re off to paint so we’re going to get them back hopefully the next day or two get all these trim bits sorted clean it up and then give it that and then that will make my life a bit more peaceful I think that’s pretty much oh no actually forgotten best get you the update you have a f 500 don’t worry you can all sleep well it hasn’t moved so as you can see we need to get some space back this week so that’s what we’re going to be doing how we’re going to do that well sold cars get the two so cars out that will get dra a bit of space but also get a bit well get me ass in gear and get some stuff shifted off to the auctions couple of Scrappers as well just want scrapping a look a little pers in the corner little 107 which I keep keeping in the corner thinking it needs I’ll need an engine one day and it never really happens because the I goes in 107 c1s never seem to go wrong so that’s one scrapping filling full of scrap we’ll get rid of that this week I think sair will’ll get that gone in the polo that should free up about four or five cars off the site well unfortunately i’ probably got about another three or four cars coming in so it’s probably not going to solve the problem for very long so I need to get me thinking cap on this week and get some stuff repaired maybe get some stuff traded on sort of sift through some of the you know the death row stuff make an effort this week to try and get those numbers down get some more space back because we need that space when we get cars that are ready to go on we can actually put them on sale we got space to do that cuz at the moment we can’t swing a cat around here but before I go I need to talk to you about the uh strange character we had on the pitch again in the week now this is a person that I know from quite a long time ago and like I said I thought he was abely dead so I was coming back from picking up a car and uh basically coming back through the gate and I noticed this individual actually on the pitch having a luch around and my colleague was approaching him I’m trying to think at the time where I recognized him from but then all of a sudden it dawned on me this man was called what we used to call him 205 man now let me explain who 205 man is now about 10 years ago actually just over 10 years ago I was actually running a car auction it was my auction I ran it with my wife and a few other people in fact a couple members of the staff who are still with us today now it was a little small auction little independent auction we used to get about 70 or 80 cars a sale in we used to run sales sort of every Tuesday it was based in winsford in Cheshire now on a Tuesday afternoon we used to get a character used to come round and this was this guy 205 man and he was called 205 man cuz he used to come in an old Dr perso 205 in cream they looked like he been dragged for a hedge backwards and what he would do religiously was Park up in exactly the same spot as always outside the auction walk around every single vehicle looking at the description he then go over to the office read the terms and conditions of which were quite long to have to admit literally word for word for about 10 minutes never speak to anyone get in his car and then leave now what the funny thing was we’ never never ever actually attend the auction sale but he would have the same routine every Tuesday afternoon whether it was raining sunny or snow he would be there checking every single car and reading the terms and conditions now on other occasion that we tried approaching this individual and sort of was asking sort of speaking to him and saying is there anything you’re trying to look for in particular or can he can help you with anything he was wouldn’t engage with us in fact actually what that would do is he actually scare him he’d run off get in his perso and drive off and then repeat the same thing the week after so anyway he became known as 205 man and this is the same individual who was here literally the other day he turned up on site looking round so when I recognize this I pointed out to my colleague who also knew then when I reminded him who 205 man was in fact there some video of him here actually in talking to him interested he’s never on PR oh no oh I know you know you haven’t worked out he is have you now as you can see in that clip 205 man is not in a perso 205 in fact even worse he turned up on a bicycle and as we know as we’ve mentioned on the channel before man on bike very rarely ever buys a car but unlike 10 years ago where we used to see him pretty much every week for about three years he never spoke a word to us he did actually talk to my colleague and I don’t know if you quite made it out but he was actually after a citran xantia yes A citran ex xantia it was after of all the cars we will probably have on this pitch and let’s be honest we do have a lot of old cars I’m not like to have a Citron xantia up for sale I think they were out production in about 1997 when did decision answer out of production but anyway at least my colleague did manage to spark up a conversation with him orbe it just sort of a one sentence I did actually try to approach him to ask him do you remember coming to my auction all those years ago but as soon as I came anywhere near him he looked at me and shot off on his bicycle up the road now we’ll see if he comes back again if he falls back to trait he’ll probably be back here the same time next week looking around see if we got any citan exantas but at least now we know what he’s after anyway I think that concludes this week’s pitch update I don’t think anything else has happened that I need to report to you we’ll see what this week brings it’s a short week which I’m not happy about which means we’ve lost today’s trading already so we’ll have to see how the week goes I am determined this week to make some effort outside to get some of the crap gone should we say or the stuff that shouldn’t be here and get some proper cars on sale with boards in Windows and get some cars sold that is the plan that is the target for this week check out if I manage that next week in our pitch updates videos and also remember we are going back to the auctions yes buy more cars something that shouldn’t be doing but s it I’m going to buy them anyway cuz we got trips planned for G3 to go back to Aston Barkley and also a surprise visit to a new auction that is open up which we have got exclusive access to I’m going
