Take a walk around the old BMX race track from the 1980’s at Faverdale, Darlington, UK on 26th January 2024.

It is still all there, with probably erosion to some of the jumps, the first jump definitely is eroded as there are loose bricks showing where the surfacing has eroded.
Further round the track the peak of one of the rollers/smaller jumps has a log across it’s width showing, that would have been used to help construct and shape that roller/jump.

At times I point the camera away from the track, to show either a speed bump (in middle of first berm) or to show tyres that are still in place from all those years ago, some are covered in moss, some are not as visible due to the land thickness getting thicker over time due to dead leaves etc and some are still very visible with their white paint mainly intact.

I’m not sure where the track officially ended, so I walked back up to the start hill.
It still has it’s start gate in place with it’s numbers marked out of weld.
It clearly is still being used or rather has been used since it’s abandonment, most probably by local young people riding their bikes.

Does anyone know what year this track was abandoned? Drop a comment to let me know if so!

    Thanks
