I went to Edinburgh to watch Hibernian v Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership. Both clubs have massively underperformed this season. The Hibs fans showed their frustrations at full time.

ah it it it it’s just hard to Fathom me I’m no lie I mean like I’ve really feel sorry for fans they’re ter God bless today we’re going to watch two of the biggest teams in Scotland come up against each other it’s the end of the season and this game should mean a lot but both teams have underachieved this season massively today’s home team Hibernian have four League titles three Scottish cups three Scottish League cups and were the first British side to compete in the European Cup not only were they the first British side to compete in that competition in the mid1 1950s but they even reached the semifinal think of the clubs that reached the semi-final of this year’s Champions League that was hibs in the 1950s abedine on the other hand they do have the same amount of League titles with four but they have seven Scottish cups and six Scottish League cups they have two UEFA titles to their name and this is a stat that I bring up almost every time I see abine they are the only Club in Scotland with two European trophies but today these two teams who should be European and Giants in my eyes come up against each other in such a dead rubber football match at the end of the season the only game on this Sunday hibs did even release a statement a few weeks back where they said their bottom six finish was simply unacceptable by the sounds of things the entire football operation will be scrutinized and looked at from maybe the scouting to the players brought in to uh the management and the coaching I’m not quite sure but yeah on the pitch this season um the results don’t lie and look at where they are on the table abine have obviously had a terrible season by their standards as well there’s been a lot of managerial change from Barry Robson to Neil waro and everything that’s gone on from start to finish from the poor League form I thought that once they got knocked out of Europe things would start to turn and they’d get right back up into the top half but it’s just not happened for them obviously they’ve never been relegated from the top division in Scotland I know they’ve been close once or twice um but we obviously saw them play in Europe this season we’ve also seen hibs play in Europe this season too I bet you think it’s quite glamorous being a YouTuber in 2024 I’m closing on 200,000 Subs but in reality it’s a GoPro balancing on a bin outside Easter road we were just talking off camera there about how with certain clubs in Scotland they won’t be in Europe so they’ll have a good season domestically they’ll qualify for Europe that’ll maybe take a lot out of the team and then so you won’t do very well in the league so he won’t qualify for Europe again it’s like this ongoing cycle do you think that’s what’s happened to aine and hibs this season it happens with HS new every season um we’ll qualify for Europe do well in the league and then somehow fall away no qualify and then we’ll qualify again and so what of the club’s got to do to ensure that you just remain a top five top six club and you’re always in Europe and always in the conversation for trophies as well I don’t know what we’ve got to do um genuinely obviously Celtic and Rangers you you’re not going to compete with them obvious the closest team to compete with them in the last couple years have been HS how many people will be here today do you think there’s a little bit of a disconnect with the fanas at the moment obviously the statement that went out too if you look at two away games that we’ve had we normally take about 12200 fans and I think we’re lucky four 400 wow okay and the statement obviously went out didn’t it about the football operations and stuff they were going analyze at the end of the season we keep bringing in the wrong managers and if we’re bringing in the wrong managers that’s clearly like something to do with the top and not really the managers I do you think that montgom deserves a little bit of time obviously he inherited Le Johnson Squad he’s not had time to really change much I know January didn’t go well with some the signings but maybe one or two more windows he deserves you think I mean it’s a tough one because obviously you don’t want to be like getting rid of managers all the time in that but it’s also like we’re just not seeing the results at all and plenty of money is already been invested in them so is I’ve obviously been to a lot of games here at Easter Road and some of them have been packed out in amazing atmospheres but I do wonder how many people actually be here today given uh yeah how both clubs have got on this season both from a away fan perspective and a home fan perspective will it even be half full I’m not sure how it’s going to look that’s probably on the thumbnail so maybe you’ve already seen um but yeah this is like the away section right here I know we still got a couple hours before kickoff I always like to get here early um but I was hoping to speak to some aboni as well as some hibees I’ve already spoken to some hibees but where has it gone wrong for abedine this season then uh bouncing about with too many managers I think think taking on uh taking on Neil Warick was probably the wrong thing to do but I mean we should have just stuck with bar robs until the end of the season 11 but then hopefully this new man will come in and turn us around for next season cuz it’s another po season for us yet and do you think abedine should obviously always be a club that’s up there pushing for Europe and yes I think so we normally are because when we had Derek mcginness as a manager we’re normally getting into the at least top three anyway look how well K doing now as well under him but we’ve had a good we’ve had a couple of good cup runs this year yeah do you think Europe held you back in those early stages especially up to Christmas playing group stage football I think so have them to yeah but then it’s just a stop start I mean it showed you how well we played against Celtic in the semi-final in the couple of just we need to put produce that in the league as well we just can’t see to do in the league it it it it’s just hard to Fathom what has gone wrong at Aberdine and and it’s the difference between how they’ve done in the cups where they’ve actually done well yeah it’s amazing isn’t it actually yeah they should have got out of their European group cuz they played some really good football they got to one semi-final they got to one final um in the league they’ve just not been producing it they they’ve been losing they’ve been losing Daft goals I think that’s probably pretty Central to it and they’ve not been able to you know if mski isn’t quite at it there’s too much Reliance on him there’s nobody else really I don’t think coming up with the goals and obviously this season we’ve got to give credit to the teams that are in the places of where abedine and hibs should traditionally feel like they belong you know the St Mir Achilles the dundes of the world who who have done well to get up there and we don’t want the Scottish League to become like the Premier League where it’s the same old teams finishing in the same positions every year but surely aine as a club feel like every season they should be in that conversation for the top three or four at least yeah absolutely for you know from a Scottish Football perspective it it it’s it’s great to see these other teams that you’ve just mentioned doing well it it it’s great for the game but Aberdine they’re the kind of Club they should be setting you know a target a minimum Target of third in the league and reach a cup final a huge Club he out have fans they get to games up up there as well it’s amazing we’ve met at many hibs games now it’s one of the final ones of the Season possibly the last one that I’ll be to how has the season been for you as a fan it’s been up down I mean to be honest with you I mean like I mean I’m no lie I mean like the things are we played not not too bad football but I’ve really feel sorry for that fans at end day and both sets of fans abedine as well this I’ve been saying to a lot of people around there today should be a game where you’re both going for top three top four yeah a battle for whoever finishes higher at the very top yeah whereas today it’s whoever finishes seventh or E exactly I mean your sport I mean like V isn’t helping all mean you got con you got like things that are not going against Club yeah you’ve had a couple of a couple isues as well we V came and apologized and how what about today then do you think there’ll be many fans there and yourself as a fan did you get up for games like this is it a bit of a wait for the season finish I mean just a day where you can just get like a pride watching your team play nice sunny day few goals hopefully and enjoy yourself yeah [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] credit actually to the abine fans there’s quite a few of them here maybe uh one or 2,000 I guess and yeah look there’s always going to be hard to obviously fill Easter Road for a day like today but as you can see with how both teams are doing this season this is probably a fair reflection early chance for him so him swing it in now this could be an entertaining game without much to play for for both sides you’d hope they can both play about fear a little bit but time will tell [Music] oh what a goal the traveling abedine fans are happy with that one Leon Clarkson formerly of Liverpool that goal puts hibs fourth bottom only above Ross County St Johnson and Livingston [Applause] the booze are starting to ring out here at Easter Road another cracking finish to be fair and it’s hibs nil aine 2 now are those fans I imagine one or two might be leaving in frustration but maybe let’s give them the benefit of the doubt they’re going to get their halftime [Music] pies I feel like if one more goes in for abine then we could see an exodus this early on oh we’re approaching halim and I Adventures there’s literally no atmosphere in the stadium right now I think this would be a a great FM save here at hibs getting them back to being Champions and competing in Europe again same for abine hibs have just missed a one and one [Applause] Hibernian nil abedine four these are two clubs that are both struggling this season obviously and one has absolutely battered the other here at their own place that’s got to be like the last kick of the game he’s 16 who’s just scored one of the youngsters has scored the boy fetra boy 16 years old fair play to him remember the name we’ve just seen him score here at Easter Road oh look at this [Applause] the fans who have stayed behind uh sh the hibs team what they think of that performance look the aine fans they’ve had a great away away day out in the capital so I’m staying behind to edit my Vlog as I usually do when I uh have the opportunity to bring my laptop along to games we’re way after all the fans have left and I think that’s the Ultras have stayed behind there I don’t know why are they waiting for the manager to come out or players or something like that I’m not sure but they’re obviously not happy and they want to show that to the club last few minutes of the game it started raining but yeah summer has ended in Scotland it’s 2 days of nice heat and then now it’s back to absolutely pissing down but yeah probably the last time I’m going to be at Easter Road this season and a really disappointing end for them today’s really highlighted maybe the abedine their players have a bit of hunger going into next season obviously there’s a new manager to come in really disappointing end to the season 4 hibs um but yeah for aine um I’m sure they’ll be kind of happy with today but disappointed with the season overall and just looking forward probably to next season starting what have you thought about hibs what have you thought about abedine what have you thought about the clubs who have maybe taken their place up in the top uh four or five this season um killy and S mirin and dundy and all that have had great Seasons so yeah fair play to all them but a huge thank you for watching um very sorry hibs fans um that The Season’s ended like this for you still a couple of games left um that you got to get through but I’m sure you’ll be all right there’s Leon Clarkson what a goal he scored today thank you so much guys and goodbye
