FISE MONTPELLIER 2024 | UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup

e e e my [Applause] Billy everybody one and that’s going to [Applause] [Music] [Applause] be good morning BMX fans and welcome back to the heart of the action here at feast moner in a beautiful South of France after an exhilarating round of qualifiers on Wednesday we are now down to the top 24 Riders and they’re hungry for a chance to secure that spot in the grand finals tomorrow on Saturday these athletes have pushed their limits here in meler next to the river Les now with the Olympic qualifiers next week in Shanghai we have a different field of riders than we’re used to but that does not mean that there will be less spectacle on the course here now the Riders will be performing at light speed so I got a friend here in the studio to help me out with and spot the tricks the innovation The Sensational and flipping insatiable Ryan Williams oh wow that was beautiful I love that let’s go I’d like to thank Chad GPT for writing this intro with me and I put a bit of my aegon sauce on there so I’ll be aegon I’ll be the main Feast commentator and Ryan is going to help me out with this UCI BMX freestyle Park World Cup so we’re having a look at the river banks of the rest right now you can get involved in all the action on all our social media that goes from Facebook Instagram or YouTube our Twitter account Tik Tok and even twitch so get involved let us know what you think about this contest today of this semifinal Ryan this is your first and it’s incredible I like just look at the screen you can see it there just the river and then the all the setups I didn’t realize there was so many parks and Street the street down the the road and then you got our break dancing and then you got the park uh skate park right here and it’s it’s insane everyone’s saying they it so we’re going to run through that hurricane parks that we have here we have the big Chicago wall so that’s with the quar that going to launch you into that Chicago wall 5 m wide 4 M high it’s pretty forgiving too and that’s the wall or as we call it the cheese grader I think I was I was asking the guys I’m like what do you call it like that’s a half a nipple it’s like the weirdest part of the skate park I would say but it’s really unique and if you can get a trick on it you’re really stand out from the crowd I mean if you got a nice uh wheel of French cheese like you could grade it on that you want to if you want to make a nice pizza here and then with the box jump 2 m high but you can get a lot of boost on that one yeah it’s pretty much half the half the people’s uh favorite jump is the box jump I think this is where you’re going to see the biggest tricks also a lot of possibilities line wise like you can jump it from anywhere you can go from the spine onto the box box to spine you can perform it like your hip and you jump it backwards to get speed for the vert wall and then get your biggest trigger on the way over the proper way I mean look at the view it’s like a castle built on the bank of the river Les and we even had some Riders already crashing into the river L I think it was on Tuesday it was domas zis from Lithuania who fell into the river last during practice now what does the format look like in a semi-final we’re going to have 24 riders in four Heats of six Riders Riders will get two runs of 60 seconds and the best of those two runs will count so the qualifying was actually two runs count so you’re going to see bigger tricks here today because you know you’re going into this you you only have to learn one clean run so you can go For Broke cuz you get two chances like what we often have seen at previous World Cups is ryers maybe slipping a pedal in that first run and just like aboring that run immediately and saving and conserving all that energy into that second run and here we have the local Legend Pierre Wilhelm also known as peew he’s a French MC a good friend of fees good personal friend as well and he knows how to amp up the crowd here let’s go I love the crowd here this is my favorite part of feast mon peler is the crowd they they show up for every single event they line the uh River and it’s an epic event get you pumped you know they’ll ask me you going to do best trick I’m like when there’s all these guys I’m doing best Tri then we have the judging criteria now there’s a lot of to keep into account it’s about difficulty it’s about style like it’s the the total package that the judges are looking for yeah and I feel like flow is a big one here because you don’t want to be pedaling around the park this is a really flowy Park they said the writers said they love this park so you’re not going to see as many pedals and execution obviously Landing good Landing clean and that helps with the flow then we have a judging panel from right to the left on right we have LCA kovich from Slovenia left of him that’s Christy hu then we have eagle POI vukadinovic followed by David Hank cleworth and Marcus wilker Axel unfortunately couldn’t make it here he got injured a while ago so speed recovery wishes to Axel yurin also you can see on the board one minute runs that’s a long time to be like going full ball I like to explain it like you you’re you’re organizing a Rubik’s Cube while you’re running full Sprint that’s what it’s like for 1 minute like you actually have to plan around like you can’t just show up to the spark drop in and think I’m just going to do a flip here maybe a bar there like you have to plan it like it’s a chore choreography yeah and sometimes it doesn’t go to plan so you have to Freestyle in the run and we got some highlights from qualification qualification double flips it was Juan kaisera with the quadruple whips it’s crazy the level of riding you have to get into that is it the top 26 top 24 top 24 it’s just insane the cut off the guys just getting in absolutely insane you see Samuel from Australia doing a 1080 I think qualifications started with 64 Riders 70 Riders rolling down to those 24 in this semi-final and we got Riders from all over the world I mean if we look and so we were mentioning the Riders and nationality so we’ve got Riders from Canada Great Britain USA of course the frenches themselves Australia yeahia Colombians Ecuador all over the world and and we’ve got a lot of like New Riders that you don’t really see that much because some of the Riders are over um competing at another event so it opened up the chances for other guys to come in and shine as we mentioned next week in shangai is the first of Olympic qualifier Series so that’s 12 riders that we are not seeing here today but it doesn’t mean you’re going to see any lack of Tricks cuz these guys are thrown down I think I’ve done the research and there’s only three OK Riders so qualified Riders and riding here as well so that’s Anthony jeanan yeah our french guy then it’s Kevin fres also a French and Yoji mizaki the Japanese so that means they’ll have to get on a play on Sunday fly to Shanghai and then perform to get that spot for the Olympics later this year this summer yeah in Paris it’s incredible it’s been a it’s been beautiful weather by the way I love it here it’s a a good showing temperature 23° so I feel like it’s perfect hasn’t been that windy I mean that that’s the feedback we got from the drivers as well it’s perfect it’s mint riding condition that we’re having right now and that’s the last thing you really want to worry about is uh wind when you’re trying to do your hardest tricks in one minute when there’s the win that’s one extra Factor but it’s all good right now so it’s going to be a good contest that was one of the issues that we had in Japan at the last World Cup we only had one day of decent weather but still like it was so windy like Riders couldn’t perform at 100% but still like we made the best of it now let’s look at our first Rider it’s Julio mosa kamacho Jonathan kamacho he made his way over to France on a crowdfunded trip he asked his fans to chip in money cuz he wasn’t getting money from the Federation in Ecuador and he made it here and he wants all the enthusiasm from the crowd here in it’s funny you say that cuz I seen him yesterday for Paul the qualifying he was sitting in the shade he was gone through his run the whole time and then he came out and performed so well he wants the crowd he wants the music let’s go he’s starting on the top of that oh that vert wall is huge that’s like a 6 M High vert wall yeah and that’s what they use to get the speed for the box but I’m not sure if he’s going to hit the Box straight off here he might be taking a unique drop in right here so he’s going to drop from the high end of that wall into the quarter below him calling on the crowd the crowd power he wants it let’s go the first Rider here in Feast of the semi-final let’s go here he goes he’s Ching the top of the course here that c is going to hit the big spine oh Landing a little low doesn’t matter hitting the spine to the Box I’ve heard that that’s actually the the one of the hardest uh ramps to hit and trick over oh oh he’s going straight up in the air on that oh man a he he wanted to land smooth on the spine but he he pulled back too hard and ended up casing directly on top which is almost better than just casing cuz if you just case you can go straight over the handlebars so let’s look at that replay we got that double whip over the spine star this run and you see this this is one of the hardest box jumps to hit like hitting the spine to the box jump sorry it’s really difficult to land nice and smooth and here you can see Pops way too high oh so he loses he he gains upward momentum loses forward momentum case is on the top of the spine he’s lucky to get out of that it’s a mix that you need you want to have that height in your jump but also to travel and well he got a lot of height to pull that back flip bar spin exactly and if he I mean he if he landed smooth he would had a plenty of speed for the next obstacle but unfortunately case but the best thing is if he can get that bike fixed he has another run to go now on a course we have Dustin orm Dustin and I we work together at feast in beang World Cup in 2023 and he’s actually one of the I’m going to call him the friendly neighborhood mechanic he’s always on a deck he always has all his Gear with him to fix bikes if you need anything if you need an inner tube if you need an allen key he will help you out he’s helped me out a lot a lot of contest so here we go from the UK Ashley finle let’s go getting speed for this step up whoa three double that step up is no joke that is a super hard uh part of the the course to hit I think he had a bit of a tap while coming into that spine but he kept it going Flair transfer hitting the Box backwards get speed on the vert wall once’s he got on the box jump double back flip oh I was going to say he was going a little low and he looked a little like out of control there but managed to pull it pedaling in pocket double air Al into the cheese grader that’s nice keeping the speed transferring to spine of the Box casing just a little bit that’s all right 10 seconds to go down wh side Al flare whip that’s good there’s a score on the board oh he’s he’s bugged I’m sure he stoked you put one on the board that’s always a good feeling you know you put the one on the board and then the next one you can go even harder I’m sure feeling good after that there we go that step up is no joke actually talk to Anthony joh joh the number one qualifier and he said that was his least favorite part of the park the trick but that’s why if you can do a trick on it you’re going to get extra points and a three double whip is huge here’s this double flip oh he was all up in his bars that’s usually like a little bit of a sign that oh you don’t know what’s going on right now like it’s you think that you need to get more in the spin cuz the harder you tuck the quicker you flip mhm and he managed to stomp it the front over the hip here the smaller you are the more momentum you can gain exactly to complete those spins and those flips pocket double it and then this part of the this part of the course is kind of strange but to get tricks on it you’re going to open up and get like a good score from the judges cuz that’s use of Park is one of the the parts of the judging criteria it’s a very compact section so you got that pocket going on then cheese grer right next to it so you got to know what you’re doing exactly next Rider from France it’s benjam Deli now in qualification he was doing front bike flips let’s go I like that trick the twoy Twister that’s what people like to call it but let’s go B over here getting speed for that b wall let’s see what he got on the box are we going to see the double back flip yes perfect Landing straight into a b can over the here I think he’s hitting the box jump once more are we going to see it there it is wow wow that was perfect he’s got no dials yeah that that was incredible I’m going to need some tips from him on that trick I mean the risk factor on a front B flip is so high it can make or break your run du whip over the that strange nipple hip there might be lining up the box job again what’s he got Flint B talk Landing smooth see a minute you can fit a lot of tricks in a minute so I feel like fatigue becomes a factor in these final moments megga tre’s hit all of the course he’s keeping that consistency ending with that 360 and there is the buzzer well done and another score on the board he loves it that was one of the most perfect nothing front back flips I’ve seen wow now we’ve been on Deck just before the semi-final started and a lot of the Riders are actually riding their first seminal yeah and that’s got to be nerve-wracking especially here at melier with the huge crowd the whole world watching now let’s see at that double flip wow landed so nice on that and that’s why he went straight into the B tuck air this is the backe flip surely so that oh wow it’s crazy how much time he had up usually it’s a trick where it’s up in the air you got to bring it down into your feet that one like was perfectly there by the time he caught it I’ve seen people grabbing for their handlebars while performing that but he’s just like like just taking it back with him the hardest thing about that trick is you got to throw it towards yourself as well as flip it you know forward so usually what happens is you throw the bike forward and it gets away from you’re reaching for it that that one was so close to him that he he was chilling and that’s a 6987 for Benjamin D he’s got it I mean that’s a score on the board now he can just freestyle let’s bring it back back the next time add some bigger tricks and see what he can do oh these Riders have to perform because only the top 12 will get that spot into the finals tomorrow on Saturday all right the Japanese Riders are always love watching them it almost looks like they’re not trying but trust me they have to try in this contest but the style is is amazing flip Bar B three three bars there back flip triple bar straight into a flare hit the HP tie grab to t-bog I like that little that’s like a stylish little trick to tricking doing a good trick over the that spine there PR down oh I like this drone shot transfer three B just slipped the foot but that doesn’t matter should keep it going like you can barely notice it but oh what L downside Sil on the cheese grader I was freaking out yesterday when he was just he was just aling that to add the down whip that’s add so much it’s like a cheese grade of that thing 10 seconds AG go oh SL 360 Truck to down with how late was that downside whip it was beautiful that’s what it was that’s Japanese Precision wow that was a solid run there and there was so many like oh wow moments that was awesome it’s that uniqueness I mean there’s so much talent in Japan you got we got Rim we got Joi riding later on but every Japanese Rider has that different style BR it’s something unique to the course exactly and he’s sitting in that 20th spot and he knew that going into these semis so he knows that he needed to add a tricks and that’s why he added the the alleo downwind that’s why he added a bar spin I’m pretty sure he might have only done two bars in qualifying there’s three so he’s adding tricks to this run because he knows he needs to he’s sitting in that 20th position I think this is where he might have bobbled his foot but a that might cost him a point or two yeah you don’t want to be crashing but that’s all right the rest of the r was so solid that was beautiful 360 Truck it down with I think anybody it looks so effortless yeah but that thing is scary that’s intimidating it is a cheese grater it’s made of metal it’s got holes in it if you fall on that thing it will slice you up I mean especially like in this weather like it’s like a cooking PL right now I think and there you go [Applause] [Applause] 81.25% or 884 but now we have Jack Watts from Great Britain B talk over the Box backwards will spine the Box backwards hitting the wall ride what’s he got back flip double tow whip so that was so slow so smooth ling up something over this big spine free whip Bar L smooth sper box double whip just hanging up a tiny bit but keeping the speed stretch k k Ling on the box what’s he got 720 bar perfect one a one foot X up cruising along the cheese grater getting the use of the park oh that’s good transfer double it tuck over the here finishing up maybe we time for one more oh let’s go I was wondering if he was going to bring that out I asked the competitors and they said he has the best 540 flers in the game that’s what they said so there you go he was spinning around all axles so back flip with a 540 on the quarter incredible trick it’s crazy that not long ago that trick was never no one was doing it and now everyone can nearly do it and 10 years ago he was already a feast regular CU he won Feast experience which is like the Step Up level to the the feast World Series in non in 2013 and 2014 720 bar Landing super smooth I love that the flip double super smooth 720 bar super smooth and that just helps you maintain speed the less pedals the more flow unless you’re going twice as high and putting the putting a score on the board that’s a perfect thing I feel like when you’re a competitor that’s one thing just relieves so much stress off your shoulders is getting that first run down you know you have the score now you can go into the next one and step it up and scores are in 7375 see not too bad there it’s just it’s so hard to keep the steam you know keep the keep the amplitude and I feel like you you notice in the scoring if if they’re keeping the amplitude and keeping the tricks to that final SEC 10 seconds you can see it in the score now from Colombia it’s Juan Kao I must say I love the black looks familiar this black wait until you see it the jet fuel he was doing quad tail whips in qualifying just remember that quadruple tail whips in qualifying so we may see one here in his run and he’s got a lot more tricks to bring as well I know it’s still early in the morning maybe Mike spinner is watching from in the USA as well Mike spinner first Rider to quadruple whips but now we have Guan Kao he went a little deep on that box going backwards but he’s got the speed back double truck oh huge Blair whip here’s the speed the speed’s back he’s going to give another try that box jump I believe there’s the triple Taw whip so get he wants to get that run on the board oh he just pulled out a little harder than you need to yeah Landing a bit bit low losing a bit of speed but he keeps it going keeps on pumping through of course front flip bar over the Box although he that’s a it sucks the energy out of you when you land deep and Landing deep at the very start of your run it’s hard to recuperate but here he is he’s back on it plenty of speed what’s he got front flip over I can’t explain how nly that is you can’t go deep on that jump if you go deep it is not good it’s a step down spine exactly and he’s finishing off he run he managed to stick the whole run that’s good I know he wants a little bit more on that but you got to be stoked getting that first run down but that front flip I hope we get a replay on that the hardest thing is if you just hu the normal front flip you’re going to land so deep that you’re going to explode so you’re going to see he like has to pull back before he pushes forward let’s see this play it was nice you can see he landed nice and high there nice and smooth coming in what was this one this is the triple Tower whip let’s not take away I know we know know he can do the quad but that doesn’t take away from doing a straight triple wh over the Box front flip bar mean he will have have a couple of minutes to take a deep breath take some rest here’s that frontlip and you can see he lands about halfway down which is so incredibly hard to do especially on the spine there’s only a foot of platform between each ramp he’s stoked on that let’s go just waiting for his score to be Ozawa 81.25% [Music] [Applause] back to Jonathan Julio MOS kamacho he took a a nasty crash at the start of his run with the with the back flip bar spin yeah he just come up a little short on the street spine which is so gnarly but to get out of it he’s fixed his wheel he’s got this I want to see him pull this run let’s go starting in the same position nice big bar a that’s a d wh is he going to keep it the same let’s find out transferring double truck def flare and here we go let’s see back back flip that’s it yes nice opted to just do the flip no bar there but that’s good smart look now he’s on the flip toop wh man the way he was tweaking that spin a that would have hurt he just has so much pop and the problem with so much pop is sometimes you trade the upward momentum for the forward momentum and when you do that it looks amazing but sometimes you come up short and it’s unfortunate that he come off on both runs there but the also the way they tried to do that 360 it’s not like a classic let’s say horizontal 360 it’s a bit tweaked to bit on on a different plane that you’re you’re you can see it even when he back flips he kind of under flips over the spine he landed perfect there set him up for the box jump but you’re going to see watch how much pop he pops up see launches up the back wheel it’s it’s in Pat Casey es I would say oh just come up short shout out to Pat Casey he does amazing 360 dip double whips like that and that’s what it reminded me of he just come up a little short but he made it to the semis let’s go nothing to be bummed it brother you had the honor of representing Ecuador it took a lot to get him here and he did well it’s it happens like to when you’re going out there and you trying your biggest some best tricks it’s not always going to work you know all my respects to Yano but back to the semi-finals with Ashley Finley currently in that second spot and he’s on the back by just about just over three points so not far to catch Ozawa here let’s see what he’s got he’s jumping just over that hip he’s hitting the step up this is huge oh oh don’t pull down there unfortunately just case that step up and every y he’s not going to call it quits he keeps on going come on Ashley cuz he’s got the crowd behind him oh flip over the the spine yeah that spine that that step up is no joke it might be the hardest obstacle to jump on this course and he’s gone for the three so it’s it’s probably one of the biggest tricks I’ve seen over that Gap looks like he’s uh chilling here oh he was coming in high [Music] let’s go that was all for the crowd he still has that smile on his face that was all for the crowd that was he’s going to stick with his first run but I mean his first run was beautiful got a score on the board and then obviously he wanted to get it a little bit more into that run unfortunately just came off on this 360 double whip oh he just snapped that inting the barriers he actually under rotated on purpose so that his back wheel wouldn’t hang up but that meant that he landed a little bit under rotated and then rode into the fence here’s this double flare that is a small quarter to double flare if I say so myself and you can see he just came in a little bit under rotated but got out safely that’s all you want when you hu something for the crowd as long as you can get up and walk away you’re stuck I mean he’ll need to conserve the energy for the After parties later this evening yeah right he just earned his uh invitation here we go what tricks are we going to see this time benjam DDI he was pulling double flips and the front by flip in his first run can he step that up let’s see if he sticks to the same kind of run and maybe just adds him a little bit of Heart of difficulty on the tricks there’s a double flip huge almost too huge there b me now in here can over the here he’s going for the Box again last time he did the bike flip what are we going to see this time there it is perfect his body position is crazy on that usually you’re reaching for him but it’s just always just perfectly there for him he’s maintaining that composure with the transfer beautiful so very similar run to his first run he may just be adding something more to the end of this run we’ll find out oh it was a little bit hard to see but flip bar X to tuck no hand that was four tricks combined into one one jump so that was something new there he was trying to add to his run oh you can see he’s uh moved his front wheel I think yeah yeah I think he might have jammed his leg in the front wheel when he come off so did he be a couple of spokes off I’m not sure if it is the Hub dead move there is yeah may have just moved to the side but hey he’s walking off nothing to be bummed about here we go see the replay what actually happened on that this is the double back flip and this one was almost too big you can see landed a little low but lands it clean the back flip yes the Beauty look at this I think perfect he should maybe do best trick I feel like he’s got some time to do something out of that this is what we come unstuck on let’s see flip X to Bar flip X to Bar no Landing and landed a little bit crooked on the back but yeah that’s doesn’t feel good but throwing out a new combo there just coming unstuck but he walked it off so he’s all good he’s got one run dialed so he’ll take that first run and that was a great impression this was the young man’s first World Cup his first Feast semifinal and back to the current leader the number one in the leader that’s o currently in first and’s see if he uh can add a little bit more to his run K has a very unique style combining more traditional BMX tricks three B spins in the back flip straight into the flare Landing really high keeping speed oh he just cased on that that’s chose not to do the tbog that’s all right he’s regaining composure let’s see if he can regain the [Music] composure there’s an extra bar spin on that 360 into the uh from the spine to the Box here’s that down with whoa he’s pedaling in between he wants so much speed oh that’s new whip bar the transfer no time for error on that like almost close to Landing any F I’m going to that beautiful F down with put in another bar [Music] spin wow and that was up to the time limit but still very good run by the Japanese Sky Ozawa I’m intrigued he obviously he there was a few tricks he missed at the start but he added more tricks near the end so it’ll be interesting to see where they put him for the judge with the judging here but to get that whip bar on that transfer that’s huge I haven’t seen anyone do people been doing double HS there’s the three bar spins so bar in a full revolution of the bars this is not him but that’s all [Music] right that’s all right we go Al down whip the only person doing the alley and adding it down here’s this whip to B no time to spare he barely caught the bars before he landed with his front wheel back on the onto the ramps it’s such a unique area to do a trick and you see not many people are doing tricks there and he he got he has two tricks so that’s going to show in his score there you go he’s better score 82.7 yeah he improved his score wow oh little bit he didn’t slip his pedal in this run which he did in the first run that would be it so there you go putting him right up there in the top people have to catch him now of [Music] [Applause] we Jack wats The Feast non 2013 2014 winner back here in moner landing with speed on that bar tuck what’s he got on the box jump flip double whip so smooth again flare tuck beautiful bman over the H he’s leing with so much speed and so smooth what’s he go over the spine double truck double tow whip getting nice and clean that time I think he hung up on the first run so this is this is looking better than his first run let’s go over the Box Seven bar does it again hey one and one qu I like that was stey man from United Kingdom he’s bringing that anarchy to the course just as DJ is playing Anarchy in the UK did I get to pick that I think he might have picked that something there’s that 540 flare oh man I hope I didn’t Jinx him I told I said before he had the best 540 flares in the game he just come off it a that was looking so smooth [Music] too so back flip 540 air 540 fled it’s become a a trick in a lot of people’s runs but it doesn’t take away by how difficult it is especially at the very end of a minute run so smooth on that flip up whip cish calls it a helicopter I think let’s go 720 [Music] bar everything’s so smooth that 5 FL and you can see he just he didn’t ride off the lip enough so he actually came out of the ramp slightly and landed a little higher than normal and that’s way under rotated so his first run score will be his keeper so he’s keeping that first score 7375 R smiling colan on the screen let’s go and the last Rider in this first heat from Colombia Kao he had the triple he had the triple wh in the first run we’ll see right now if he decides to get that he did it in the qualifying so we know he has it it just comes down does he land smooth on that first reverse box jump that’s what it came down I feel like he just went a little deep and it kind of threw him off a little bit he got that run on the board though look at this crowd Colombian fans are hyping up as well yeah I see them oh where’s my Colombian crowd at here in East look at that beautiful bike here we go box backwards let’s see if he gets that smoother yes smoother that time going need that jet fuel to speed up for that quadruple whip maybe look first it’s almost like he he almost looked like he’s gone for the quar he chose to stop which is totally fine like keep this run going the Buck’s not that high so you need way more speed to get that amplitude that height to perform four rotations of we’re going to count that that is awesome he landed a little low bounced off the back wheel and then just ran with the bike a little low he landed that and it was huge oh near over on that probably keeping it going this is awesome the madness that we sometimes see in these live streams it’s insane oh man he’s just getting a little excited that’s all right yeah he burst his oh no that’s his cassette that we’re hearing I thought his his to that popped he’s going to wave that off hey let’s make some noise for him that was brilliant there that 540 flare of that quarter he went so huge he almost did it perfect as if he was going to land back in the quarter but the the banks actually a little bit further back than the quarter so you actually need to go out a little bit when you come out of the quarter he went straight up I think his front front wheel wasn’t under rampion anymore I think like his front wheel landed flat the it’s impressive that he stayed on hopefully we get a good replay of this here this is the triple toip he was whipping so fast but you can see his body’s kind of shifted a little forward so he might have chose not to throw that fourth whip just because his body position was forward here’s that 54 play look at this a see if he was on the quarter he would have landed perfect wow the fact that he just ran that off and kept the Run going sportsmanship incredible stuff what an athlete let’s go that was that was great to watch I’m sure he earned some more fans with that run a week we got more people gathering around today here at F for the mans BMX Frey World Cup semifinals because we got to determine who will be the 12 best riders in tomorrow’s finals it’s a hard cut for 24 to 12 we’ll see if the scores stand true so we got three more groups more wow I’m already excited I’m already like that was beautiful let’s go so the way it works is in qualification we have the results from that one and then the starting order is flipped so the best Rider will be the last Rider actually in semi-finals that gives you the edge to actually see what the competition is like exactly so the guys that are competing after the this first group they get to see what the standings are what the the runs scored and you can kind of it up on the spot if you think hey if you’re if you’re at the end you’re in group The the final group it gives you the advantage because you can say hey maybe I’m going to hold and save this trick yeah maybe I’m going to hold and save this trick for the finals so it’s all it’s all it’s not only the power on the bike it’s also strategy exactly I mean and if you hold your trick off till the finals and the judges don’t see it till the finals it might just have that little bit more pepper on it you know they they surprised of seeing it this park is beautiful I’ve I’ve heard a lot of people say that they really like the park I mean it’s technical it’s big it’s Burly okay now we’re we’re going to take a look at the highlights from the first group of riders it’s also a really unique Park here we go let’s go double back flip absolutely perfect [Music] [Music] the higher qualified the Riders were so Heat number two yic kab Dean floran Tom Clemens Levi and Luca bertr and that’s our next Heat of riders will be yakar deorian Tom Clemens you for letting us have fun in your city for a week we look for small warm up before they go into their runs obviously theyve just watched these guys go I’m sure they all have a really good idea of what they’re going to do before they see any the first group but you wonder if they’re going to switch it up because I mean you can you switch it on the fly if you want and that’s sometimes what you have to do when you’re riding these contests cuz you know you see you might land a little deep and that happened to some guys and they had to switch up their tricks we don’t know if maybe they they did have to switch up maybe they didn’t but I know when I’m running a contest if I stop up a trick case slightly then I have to switch my next trick because I don’t have the same amount of speed going into it so you always have a plan B like if you would be like you’re performing the first dirt jump let’s say and you mess up that trick or it wasn’t trick you had in mind you’ll have a plan b or even a plan C trick I’m sure all these guys have plan B and plan C tricks that’s just kind of how it has to work especially if if you’ve only got 60 seconds our next Rider from Slovenia it’s yaka remet he is one the 29 Fe Juniors and this is his first pro semi-final let’s see what yaka has up up for us three double whip over the spine hitting the Box backwards oh little case there that’s R will maintain the speed oh maybe he won’t oh wow really throw sometimes it really throws you off there when you stuff up on that that first jump and there you go he decides he only needs one run he’s going to save all the energy that he had for this first run take a look at his bike see that everything’s running smoothly again and Go full speed full power in that second run now if you took a close look at his bike actually it’s tianium B this run ah I like a titanium black and the way he rides it you can see he does so many good tricks um I was going to say that he’s seen the first group he knows that if you stuff up it might not put you in the position to even get into the finals so that’s why he’s decided to sit out the rest of his run also a phenomenal dirt Rider oh really yeah oh sweet I’ll see him at next game maybe you better watch out [Music] Ryan so yeah he works with son grich by the way also a very well-known in European BMX scene the Croatian BMX rider so yeah for that jump for that that first trick he did he does get us this minor score let’s say 4.5 let put him in seventh place pretty good [Applause] next Rider next week he is competing in Shanghai at the Olympic qualifier series it’s Kevin Fab plenty of speed dropping in 720 bar on that spine that is insane it’s probably the hardest trick we’ve seen over that spine so far hitting the transfer SP over the Box backwards Landing a little low but that’s all right the best thing is that can gain that speed on the vert wall flip talk FL bar Landing High getting that use to park hit in the pocket this little transfer X up front flip bar spin over the H wow that’s such a small ramp to front flip bar spin off even to just front flip it’s a hard yank he’s going into the spine getting some speed Blair oh he’s Ching to Blair away I was going to say it’s a danger play to do cuz if you don’t land with the speed it’s going to take away from Over the spine flip bar pedaling to get speed oh nice and lofty Kevin fa it’s a full pull no crashes that’s all right gets a score on the board but starting off with that huge was the 72 20 bar spin over the spine hopefully we’ll see that again here it is here the crowd in the background Landing perfect tucking it in nice here’s this front flip by you can see the ramp it’s not that steep he barely been forward but the thing with the front flip bar spin you can’t get up in the bars cuz you have to do the bar spin so you almost have to do a lofty front flip at the start get the B done and then tuck it in then that pocket section a huge flare to finish off the run I mean what an honor representing France not only here but also next week in Shanghai for that Olympic qualifier series now the French already have one spot for the Olympics because they’re the host nation but still they have another shot during the Olympic qualifier series to get another athlete in as well cuz there’s a maximum of two Riders per Nation to qualify into the Olympics now next up it’s Dean floran from Germany I was talking to some of the Riders now saying that Dean is he’s a real he’s a quite a techy Rider whoa that’s a that’s an awesome transfer oh you can see that was two unique transfers that we haven’t seen in the contest yes that was the 360 super Indie double with there he’s really making a statement at the start of this run what what that was a huge air I was going to say that flare before was huge but that was even bigger getting flattered on that tabletop Al downside whip one foot table over the here pedaling in he’s doing the step up oh just getting over that thing oh what the only person you going to see footjam in the subbox truck down the spine oh hanging up there getting the channel keep it going keep it going come on Dean oh wow that was a crazy three down whip 900 oh my God Dean floran if you’ve been around in BMX for a while you might know the name of the Australian chance brezovski well this is the German chance brezovski that was beautiful I really really wish he got that 900 air I would have loved to see where the judges would have put that score that could have put him at the top now let’s take a look at this look at that I mean it’s so narrow where you have to land it’s like it’s like all curv so to you got to pick your point and hope you get it this oh that was beautiful us competing at the feast V freestyle two months ago where he got the fourth spot three table and then this is the oh that down was beautiful and then he goes in tries to get this 900 we’ll see here I think same thing he kind of oh landed a little high but it was kind of perfect but maybe just didn’t get the right flick on the spin and just kind of under rotated a tiny bit I think Clint Miller must be proud watching all the way from Australia 51.5 not too bad I know if he landed that last that last 900 well we’ll see we would have seen what he would have got but I’m excited to see he come back on the Second Run next up is Tom Clemens from Germany he’s a World Cup regular now we’ve seen him in China we’ve seen him in Japan and now he’s here at Feast Mel three with bar of that spine so smooth oh I was going to say he put the cranks in I thought he was going to landed perfect but just casing a tiny bit but gaining the speed back B wall getting speed for the Box flip bar bar Landing smooth on that one oh flare off the transition turn down no bad there oh this is unique I haven’t seen anyone take it that way the quarter to bank super Indie Miss in the t- That’s Right One X one hand X up one foot X up sorry I let’s go do he off and in there was OPP 360 there so spinning the opposite direction you don’t usually see that much also makes a trick way more difficult way harder exactly it’s like riding with your opposite hand well you can gain a lot of points with that brings a unique style let’s go that was nice obviously landed got the case might have slowed him down might have slowed the momentum a little bit but he kept the going for the rest of the run and managed to pull get a full pull so that’s always good going into first run that’s the K the German Viger oh he’s he’s calling for his coach Daniel whire another Feast regular he’s not competing he’s coaching athletes now he was limping around so I think he’s kind of saw but he said he might do the best trick so I’m excited for that flip barar over the Box the flare nice and smooth the back flip double bar spin so everyone was telling me the the Gap from the spine to the Box takeoff that one that that is probably the second most difficult obstacle to trick the first is probably the big step up that is almost like a not meant to be a step up cuz it’s so big is that because the spine gives you more let’s say height instead of travel exactly so both ramps are really steep they’re both takeoff ramps so Landing in a takeoff ramp isn’t ideal cuz it’s a shorter radius so you have a smaller margin of error coming in to land we have the judges so they take notes while the Riders are doing the run and then they have these tablets which they use for the life leaderboard and there we have it 67.2 for Tom Clemens as we get ready for next round feel like these guys that’s like the high 60s and obviously there’s one low 80 but 60s to 70s is where it’s kind of everyone’s kind of pretty tight you know it’s not not too mi not too vast the distance between um scores from the Netherlands from Holland we have Ley Redmond oh 72 mixing it up with that one footer with the can can yeah he had to pull The Brak he had to pull the brakes there to bring the front end down 540 the transfer I haven’t seen anyone else doing that lineing up the box oh 80 and he Stomps it my gosh it looked like he opened up to spot he’s Landing like halfway through that and usually that’s a bad sign but he still pulls it this is the first 1080 since this 2020 crash performing competition yes come on Ley run on that adrenaline let’s keep it going that transfer Landing smooth lining up that box jump what’s he got double bar the shot kind of changed there but I think it was 360 double bar that’s all right man he must be stok on that 1080 though wow I mean just before the semi-finals I was talking to him like do you have something special in mind and he mentioned the 1080 because he took a nasty crash in 2020 on a 1080 and he brought it back to the course he owned up to it and there it was I hope that obviously we’re going to get a replay of this but you can tell that he kind of open oh wow he did throw the can I missed that and then he pulled the brakes to bring the front the front end down and this 540 over the channel Gap the seven can is one of his favorite tricks here his 10 you’re going to see he kind of spots like almost oh no he kind of kept it kept it going but I almost thought he looked and usually that’s oh no you don’t get the spin but he got it round and then you have to behind that shoulder to keep that spin going and he nailed it maybe he pulls it in that second run again I think he’s got it looked like that was pretty D like oh the foot we didn’t see that one on the Drone shot hang hung up the back wheel and if you think the problem is if you know you’re going to case you can kind of ride it out you can absorb the the hit of the case but if you don’t realize you’re going to case that’s what happens your feet kind of slide forward off the pedals impressive run by Ley but we’re back to the Frenchies they’re doing it for their home crowd it’s Luca all right you’re going to see that this guy is actually goofy footed so he spins to his front foot like myself and uh it opens up a lot of tricks for you and it also makes some tricks a little bit harder I would say but he W make it look like a t there you go you can see he whips to his opposite foot that’s why it kind of looks a little different to everybody else oh Al you play with that was beautiful yo super IND the air front flip over here keeping the speed pumping it out she not to Pedal in pumping that’s a good sign for the judges lining up the box jump again double back flip perfect and a bri flip bringing to the scooter tricks let’s go he kind of land it a little with he put kind of back but like riding the pedal on the shin but rides out nice keeping the Run alive whoa double it and you can see he’s goofy footed so he’s catching when he catches his Taw whips he’ll catch with both feet at the exact same time whereas when you’re normal footed you can kind of catch with the one front foot and then put the other foot on and even with p pushing the whip I mean with the front foot is way harder because you get less momentum going yeah you almost can’t start it as quick you kind of have to drop your foot back before you kick the tower hopefully we see in some of these replays yeah he kind of has to bring his foot back but you see catches both pedals exactly at the same time look at this look at that I love that it looks so cool ra the pedals beautiful super IND a and that’s what makes a good whip like you can catch a tail whip with like on the cranks but it’s better and it shows way more let’s say b control if you can land it on to the pedals yeah and I feel like when your goofy putter almost forces you to be catch pedals unfortunately there kind of I mean he just bobbled his back foot but his front foot landed so good that he could just ride out and I mean reather his pedals as he rode off but that was a brilliant first run he stok checking the tire maybe is worried about the tire pressure there but I also think he’s the only Rider to do BR flips in this in the semi-final let’s go I I don’t know if I’ve seen anyone else do a BS either let’s get I mean that was an amazing run I I’m intrigued to see what he can bring to the next one and obviously this is kind of an interesting one for the judges that alyu flare whip was beautiful like to land that clean on an alute flare it’s hard to even land so good when you’re just not doing a tower up in that trick now Ryan you’re a scooter rider yourself the BR flip is originally a scooter Dr right yeah yeah I guess it’s it’s kind of a Taw whip but it just goes above your head a little bit more like it’s like a kick tow that goes up there you go 70.5 putting him in fifth place not a bad spot to be you know he could fix up kind of bubble you put I don’t know how much that affects I mean when in this contest the level of riding is so high that I think any kind of bubble can really affect the score because they have to be that strict even tapping your foot and CAU a lot of points now we’re back with the Slovenian [Music] [Applause] yaka he had a minor mess up at the start of his first run only has four and a half points right now so he has to make it count in his second run it’s more points not yet there’s the triple to whip 360 on the spine he’s adding to his frun this might have been what he wanted to do in his second run he just he said I don’t need a backup score gone for the full pull here we go that was huge three triple tow whip over that spine into the box 720 tow whip oh just slightly oh it’s so hard because you you might pump the BT wall slightly different and then you think okay I just need this amount of pedals to get this jump perfect and just the slightest less pump through that vert wall can set you into a case which is where you hang up the back wheel and if you’re not prepared for to that that’s what happens you can come off your bike he’s going to finish the run off though for the crowd put a bit of a show front flip oh it’s like a light little front flip he’s one of the Riders to watch for the next couple of years yeah I mean you can tell by just by that three to be able to 360 triple whip on that spine and that’s no normal spine that’s a huge step down it’s it’s actually terrifying I I’d be scared to just jumping that thing and also this was his first semi-final that he’s ever ridden in Pro so hats off to yakar trip [Music] to expecting two and there’s three wow Landing smooth oh they’re going to show it twice of course you got to that awesome way to start it here’s a seven bar oh seven sorry 720 tow whip that’s Mark spinner ask Mar like that one just hanging up quite significantly so it’s hard to write out especially if you you’re coming out of a 720 rotation you don’t see that you’re going to case until the very end you want to know how how old he is sure 19 oh there you go I’ll take the letter on the 360 trip whip so he’s got me in a game of BU oh that’s all right mate the thing is you only need the one run so so you go out there and you want to send it you know you you know that you only need one run to count and that can get you to the finals so that’s why you go out there and you send your biggest tricks and sometimes they don’t always work well who knows we’ll see him again in another contest maybe in shangai in October back to Kev there’s that 720 BOS again maintaining a lot of speed this time on the channel over the Box backwards oh I see sometimes Landing so good can actually make you go further on the ne next obstacle and that’s what you just seen there he landed so smooth that he had more speed and he didn’t equate with that extra speed we’re back to the compact area in the pocket bar spin lining up for the cheese grader X up trying to get a little table in that so he is adding to it oh he was going to get it he just tagged his butt on the back wheel and that ships your body weight forward and it also kicks your feet off usually so when you I’ve done it many a time so you land a little flat you sit on your tire and what happens is your tire pushes your butt forward your knees lock up and then your feet get pushed off the the forward of the uh the front of the pedals think he’s grabbing his water bottle getting it off the course there it is so his first round St will be the keeper so he’s probably he’s still going to remain in that seventh position so not a bad position to be in I think so we’ll have to see cuz after this heat of riders we still have 12 more y exactly so that want to secure their spot to the finals you’re going to see he’s going to land I think his butt hits the tire yeah yeah and shifts his body forward I think he managed to grab his Brak so it didn’t kick him forward as much but landing with the brakes on shifts your body weight forward and then you went over the handlebars you know Cloud as a silver lining if he would not qualify to the finals he still has the honor to compete next week in Shanghai for the Olympic qualifier series for France there we go oh here we go I know I have to stay neutral this is one of my favorite riders in in this group actually honestly I’m loving his riding as well and you can tell the guy said he was a tech Rider and you can tell his big transfers very stylish two unique transfers straight up in his run a that was almost bigger than the first one he did there’s the double air come on Dean all the way from colog Germany oh B tuck and nice almost landed two good one foot Taves there’s the Del wible he almost landed a little bit too far back but held it out the way he kicks it as a really stylish move to it as well a lost the speed you could tell going into the here kind of he kind of lost the speed and you need so much speed for that step up the guys are telling me that if you don’t land perfect you’re you’re not making it like you can hear old the French Crow going Al some more and uh fun fact about Dean he is Kim bamas so the German BMX freestyle athletes boyfriend oh no way yeah so she’s here as well she not competing cuz on Sunday she has to take her flight all the way to Shanghai for the Olympic qualifier competing oh wow this he was Landing I thought oh my gosh he just held on to that he had to fix his feet and then uh over the hip he I think he might have landed a little low and then no speed for the uh step up and then no speed for the foot jam Ryan I have some good news the might be competing in spine ramp on Saturday as well oh there you go he’s got a second chance he’s s yeah sitting in the 10th place so it’s going to be hard to stay in 10th Place against the guys coming up but still it’s just to get in the semi-finals here at Beast is a is a great accomplishment there’s Brandon lupos and as you can see on his bike he has the pegs installed you should see him in a spine Ram I mean the lip trick that he has the technicality as he shows I mean you’re going to be like overwhelmed by by the ring I’m excited bring it on and next up is Tom Clemens from Germany coached by Daniel [Music] V who knows maybe Daniel start him out of fuu yeah right I I was actually talking to him about that I said oh you going find someone to do a tie fortunately like they’ve installed the let’s say the fuu back wall yeah but so far no one’s done it I’ve heard about people downside while planning it but still no fu and we ready to go I think there’s a few guys coming out that are actually going to put it in their run so we haven’t even seen it yet so that shows there’s a lot to this course that you might not see you have seen just yet so keep your eyes peeled you’re always ready to see something new there’s that three whip bar starting off the same as his first run double truck and spine of the Box pocket tuck air Oh Land not too bad on that box jump backwards flip bar bar you can see he takes off really early in that oh 540 play oh that’s better that he’s better that from his uh first run so did he hit his whe on the quadr No No he landed like perfectly to slider out like the front wheel slid to forwards and he managed to ride out just I mean that’s unique as well like sliding it out I mean it is unique but I don’t know if that’s going to get extra points ice pick that will get extra points and Ice pi and then Alo 360 there’s not a lot of riders using their pegs on this of course keep it going keep it [Applause] going just finish off this run I mean I I’m liking the look at this run flare nice work that’s a for the you got to be stoked with that to land to roll out of that 540 flare was so nice and you’ll see when he fli barard the uh box he kind of leaves the ramp early and that gives him a lot of forward momentum and then he gathered that speed he kept it going into the 54 Flair so you see he pushes his bottom through the ramp pushes it Forward here’s this 54 going to see he just under rotates but slides oh his front wheel slides to forward so he managed to ride it out finish him with a flare are we going to see a replay of the ice pick it’s it’s I mean it looks so simple but like it’s the balance that you need yeah so for the people at home he’s running basically a piece of metal or plastic it could be plastic um sticking out his back axle and uh he’ll stole that on the coping so you’ll turn 90° land on the coping with the front wheel in the air and then drop in it’s it’s Precision I’m intrigued by this one yeah I was wondering if the judges might take a little while on this run I mean I feel like he did better his score he definitely added the 540 flare definitely although it wasn’t super clean I mean it’s he’s adding the uh you know the the level of trick the difficulty level is raised obviously with the flow it might he might have took away from the flow just on that 540 flare but the rest of the Run was nice and clean also still a very young kid look at that crowd let’s go my favorite thing I will say it again Feast mon peler the crowd is amazing there you go coming in in fifth place with a 71.3 s so that’s pretty good positioning I mean it’s not too bad obviously the group groups the later groups they qualified higher so that gives them the the advantage knowing the scores going into their groups but can’t be mad with a 71.3 S and being in fifth place if it ain’t Dutch it ain’t much it’s Ley Redman getting ready to drop in now we’ve seen that 1080 will he pull that off once again in his second run I hope S I mean he only stopped up just oh seven whoa was that did he add a trick to that he does a can can that’s one of the staple tricks with Ley oh look at the the travel on at 540 how yeah he was superp he was super dip and kind of came out from the quarter here it is oh no 60 he just kind of lost his speed going into the B wall so he couldn’t gain as much as he wanted to do that 1080 but maybe he can put it in a different part of his like maybe he’s going to hit the box again but it looks like he going to write it out yeah keep it smart I know the crowd they Che they cheer real loud but keeping it smart let’s see maybe he’s he’s find out the box jump again yeah he’s going to he’s just going to finish off his run Al Flair yeah it’s unfortunate obviously he’s hitting the Box backwards and as we were saying before landing perfectly in the takeoff is more difficult than Landing in you know the Landing part of the Box obviously it’s more steep there’s a higher risk of going too far and missing the transition and losing the speed that’s what happened went into the BT wall couldn’t gain enough Speed Out Of The B wall and uh decided not to do the 1080 which is it could be the smart idea you know you don’t want to go out there and Huck or trick when you don’t think you have enough speed you don’t have that confidence but look at this 720 and he held it for so long the can that was beautiful wow I love that and this is a 540 kind of popped a little bit more so he landed a little bit low on the transition and he probably pushed through on the box backwards and that’s what made him land a little deep and unfortunately couldn’t get the speed for that 1080 if that’s what he was going for he’s going to take that first run score but man if he can get those 1080s di let let’s Stoke that he came out obviously coming off a crash any trick that has hurt you it it plays in the back of your mind going into any run any contest if you’re going to pull this trick out even the first time doing it in practice you think about the last time and what it did to you so to come out there and pull it off it was it was a win in his book oh he the crowd also a melier local it’s Luca B the goofy footed BMX rider let’s go foot life flip tail whip let’s go landed so smooth 360 landed smooth over the Box backwards there’s that Al wh Landing it let’s keep it going had a 70.5 on that first run so let’s see if he adds any more to this run he’s kind of I think he’s done all the similar same tricks going through this first run about to hit the Box double back flip oh my gosh I was going to say this one’s going to come in smooth and he gets the BR flip perfect this time no bubble what a talent oh FR oh I was going to say he’s doing something different he he chose to go a little slower and for a front flare you need to do that because your momentum throws you into the ramp so you want to get enough pop up to not go into the ramp to give you enough time to throw forward and get that front flip around damn trying to trying to better his score there trying to add something new at the end uh managed to get that briet but unfortunately come off on the front flare and he’s he’s being coached by the Fe Academy so Fe also has a training facility where he actually train these kids get better at their Sports oh know way that’s awesome so here’s that flip whip catching both feet at the same time the reason I say that we have to do that is because there’s no pressure on our on the back pedal so if you land and push your foot on the back pedal it the front pedal goes up so we going to catch both Fe bu fo let’s go Superman Indie there’s a few bung foot runers coming out I always get behind him here’s that front flip bung foot bung foot I call it bung foot you call it foot double flip look at this coming in perfect wow see you couldn’t have got any smoother and this is a front flare trying to pop up unfortunately you can see he can’t his trajectory kind of went into the ramp a little bit and then that takes away from how much time he’d have to rotate that front flare I’m sure he’s pumped out that he’s got a good tune too to to ride to 70.5 yeah he’s going to stick with his first run score unfortunately coming off you can tell if you come off on your run it affects your score a lot here at Feast he’s getting a lot of L from Jeff free willly Canadian hello child look at this guy he’s on he’s on the TV Way by hi Mom there’s also the feast scam it’s like a kiss cam that they have every day and that and that they show on the screens at the venues themselves oh beautiful so most of the time it’s people dressed up for the occasion I’ve seen people walking around in a in a a beer costume oh yeah i’ seen that as well all right so we still got a z in the top spot so from the second heat we have Tom and Luca getting into the top six so in the worst case like if it would we would have a downpour for example like these would be our top 12 Riders qualifying get into the finals but still have two more groups let’s look at the highlights from that second Heat [Music] yeah I know a bit of stress stra my [Music] dance w [Music] [Music] w so if you’re just getting tuned in welcome to the UCI BMX freestyle Park World Cup men’s semifinal we’re about to start with our third heat I’m Aon and next to me we have Ryan Williams yeah let’s go I’m excited to be here so we already had 12 Riders performing two with the best counting to maybe have a chance to get into the finals tomorrow and most of most of the scores are kind of they like there’s one obviously in the low 80s and then uh kind of around that high 60s and then 70s area that’s kind of a you know not too far away everyone from each other and people are still coming in here in Feast getting a good T by the way the weather is phenomenal well i’ I’ve seen sunburn people yesterday you see one you can probably see one right in front of if you look across to me I got a nice hat tan looks great I’m keeping my hat on so you can’t see it there’s also defeat you know the feast tan yeah I I don’t know is it a single tan uh it’s all the dust that that lies around the river less so if you have the idea of coming to Feast M be aware that there’s a lot of dust and sand that will like get on your skin Oh M we don’t care about a bit of dust that’s part of the experience it’s like a souvenir man I haven’t noticed it we got the same dust here in Australia so it’s beautiful next up from France it’s G that’s an interesting place to start that’s a super steep quarter 450 tck over the hip tuck no hander don’t mind my lingo cash roll oh that was a beautiful cash R too 360 front flip 720 the spine that is so hard to land like accurately you have to be a sniper to land smooth clip double whip helicopter as cish would save 540 or maybe he was trying to I think he might have been getting speed for something else and chose to turn away and get the flare transfer oh no oh man he kind of went to the outside of the hip so when he spun he landed a little lower which made him over rotate I believe oh he’s not stoked on that you never like to smack your nogget on that black wood that’s not fun especially in this heat he’s a heart hitter he’s up though his run was looking so good that cash roll was [Music] unbelievable that’s he gets another run I feel like that was that was going really well I feel like that was going to be a top run right there you can see this might be the cash roll yes it is you can see he HS forward but spins and ends up backwards before he goes upside down it’s like a 360 front flip and then double Tower it was like a perfect cash roll people would say that’s like the ideal cash roll flare over this transfer we haven’t seen anyone flare that transfer had a bit of so went a little bit out you can see he went out on the hip and then he went a little bit longer so if he was in further he would have landed further along and wouldn’t have over rotated so it’s hard when you’re in the heat of the the run you think oh this is perfect and then you come around and you don’t don’t realize that you’re so far out and it’s hard to recuperate nonetheless and given the crash solid score you got that 47.25 yeah not bad especially you know that if you can get a score with that with a crash you know that you get it landed it’s going to get you a good [Applause] score next up from the UK it’s sha gornell starting off with the Box backwards three to with the Box backwards into that step up transferring to the spine maintaining a lot of speed 720 oh looked a little slow but he got around 360 T but he grabbed his I think he grabbed his jersey oh no that the spine transfer is really getting to people I think it’s hard cuz obviously the spine take off is quite Steep and when you transfer you take away from your forward momentum so people tend to case a lot it’s hard to get perfect every single time plus I think he grabbed his jersey during that 360 no hander almost seemed like he delayed he 360 first and then decided to do the no handar and then he might have grabbed a little bit of his jersey getting his hands back on The Handlebar but this I thought oh no it’s a little slow but he just tucked it in right there it’s like he’s cutting up that 720 and two 360s exactly here we go this three tuck see he he kind of second guess oh okay no so he didn’t grab his jersey he decided to do the tuck a little late and his handlebar was his right handle his left handlebar sorry was in his lap so he he was finding it hard to grab back on The Handlebar got to bit stuck exactly in the European contest scene Sean has been a regular as well always getting into the finals and next up is zultan uvari from Hungaria some sometimes the semifinals you get more nervous than the finals because I feel like the finals you’ve made it you know this is actually Zan’s first semifinal it’s ever gotten into yeah oh my God you jinxed it no I haven’t he’s going to ace it watch this let’s go zultan the coolest name in the contest oh oh that was like a I mean you call it a flip invert or you could call it a really really dip threee invert whip over the pocket tuck the Box backwards pumping the vert wall getting speed what’s he got over the box to 720 perfect nice and clean Alle flare Landing high so the higher you go the less time you get to do that flare so that’s why you had to FL flare very fast no pocket I believe that was opposite oh opposite pocket air too and stacking the double wh but keep it the speed you know you know this contest a lot of people have had the there’ve been a few stuff UPS in the run so if you can crash and roll away it’s it’s worth it to keep the Run going and also mentally like exactly it shows that you can keep on pushing through oh this quad it’s been a little bit of trouble for people today I feel like it might see a little bit steeper than what it actually is cuz I find that people are pulling off and they’re slightly under rotating their tricks but it could be any Factor it could be that it’s at the end of your run a lot of the end of the runs have ended at this point and you’re tired you’ve just roded for a minute and you’re you’re you’re doing all these tricks and you’re you know you’re going through all these tricks then you get to the last seconds and you have to bust out something like that and it just comes out uh a little bit under rotated could it be tire pressure I mean with the temperature surprising I mean if you get really technical if I that’s what I would blame it on yeah it was s pressure with the heat yeah anyway that’s 720 perfect and this was a nice big flare I mean was doing pretty well yeah keeping it smooth just coming unstuck on this double it but you can tell he maybe he didn’t turn enough on the on the whb and then you can see here just under rotating slightly maybe didn’t flip sometime I mean I cannot do a flare for my life and that’s exactly what happens to me you have to take off really straight backwards and get the whip done and then turn and it just looked like he came off a little sideways and it came in a little [Music] sideways hey aie oie aie o o o That’s A Familiar phrase for you br it brand lose unfortunately had a few uh injuries lately and he’s coming back he’s fighting his way back and man he is an incredible Rider and I’m sure we’re going to see it today slip draw Bing over the hit maintaining the speed transferring the step up to the spine I mean what an entry start whip that could not have been smoother flip up whip over the spine on the step down the pocket air whip he told me that that’s one of his favorite parts of the park is that pocket air nice and high on the vert wall 10 oh 1080 that was so clean as well there you go come on we’re over halfway Brandon first going to say he took off a bit Oppo play this is incredible run here for lupos 10 seconds to go getting the transfer that’s good using all the park I mean he was a ninth best Rider in qualifications but it seems like he a save on the buzzer I almost called it before you know like that that quarter at the end and I am so happy that he landed that I think that cor is cursed it’s just something it must be it must be it’s mellowing out everyone’s riding it it’s getting mellower but he is so damn stoked with that run I am so stoked that he got that run he used all his might he wouldn’t as soon as you take off on a 540 flare you can feel if it’s coming in good or if it’s coming in like that and he would have felt like that and monstered through it so that’s the flip dropping to use so much energy in your this is so smooth he uses so much energy at the start of your run doing a flip drop but it gives him that bonus point you know you get a trick done before while people are dropping in to get a trick done he’s doing a trick in and and that 1080 was perfect that was textbook style exactly and it was like a little bit corked as well it was [Music] beautiful here we go this 5 Flair You can tell he’s just he he’s monstering it around and he tilted his bike so if he kept his bike neutral he might have slid out there but he tilted his bike so that his tires would catch like some traction and roll out ah yes Brad L let’s go on that 540 flare Landing I hope the fake Ste police wasn’t watching lupas you animal putting him in that first spot with the 89.37 Brandon lupos from Australia coming in hot 89.37 let’s go and I I know he can clean it up a little bit every Ian he can’t he can’t clean up the 1080 anymore but he can clean up that 540 play so can he break that 90 point barrier in a second I think if he landed clean on that 540 flare he would have got he would have got in [Music] there and another chap from Team Great Britain is Reef way one of the coolest names in the contest if I say so there’s that oh 360 triple tail whp I’m glad he had breaks I am so sorry I thought he was going to aloop into the other side oh cuz that was Al he kind of went up and went the opposite way 360 back flip Landing smooth also how high that he went on that 540 and that quarter is nearly oververt so it’s what is going on that was amazing that was one of the biggest play whips I’ve seen and the most beautiful he’s only just pass halfway in his run this is a beautiful run is he going to bring the 90 90p point barrier front flip boss spin come on Reef 10 seconds to go and he’s gone back to the box I was going to say stay away from that quarter 5 Four 3 two I I’m not sure I think his book came off when he was flip barring maybe he was trying a different trick but that is a full pull and I hope we get another angle to that flare whip because that flare was something special about it you know what I put my finger on it I was talking to people in uh in practice and they said watch out for his flare whips cuz his flare whips are probably bigger than anyone even airs that quarter 360 triple whip you’re going to see him land back wheel but pulls the break gets it down this is that 540 I was talking about that quarter that quarter is so steep just so to be able to do a 540 air on that is incredible 360 back flip Landing smooth show it is same angle oh W it’s almost like a Riders flare flare with [Music] yeah I I’m going to request a better angle on the next one yes you can see he came off I think maybe he was going to try kick a whip or something and he’s just Fe glided off but bar SP whip managed to recuperate though his feet yes let’s go second spot with 8550 and you wonder what was he thinking over that last hit on the box did he have something better maybe that would have put him his his score would have got a little bit higher but he’s got another run to try it out so I think there’s something extra up up his sleeve yeah it might be the flip bar to to or maybe another quick combo that’s not a quick combo over that jump that be I mean it has to be quick to get down over the box but here we go and the next Rider from Japan is Yoji mizaki Unique Style so Smooth you’re going to see he’s going to be doing hard tricks but they might not look like they’re hard to him and that’s why he gets such a good score 360 Whi to toan I think he added a trick in between too I think he might have done a tie grab toan yo crank ice bonking like touching his backpack on the way coming back into that quarter this what I’m talking about when the judges are looking for Unique Style unique tricks with style and this is what he’s ticking those boxes the way that he styled that tabletop look almost going over that vert wall three double tile wi oh L sitting down but that’s all right maintain see how he it’s it’s important that he chooses not to pedal and he uses another ramp to gather speed Powerhouse Yoji mizaki is he making this up on the spot I didn’t see him do this line in qualifying what and that’s why he’s got a freeo St that’s a Rider ending his strong with a fake like there’s so much risk involved doing it in a transfer as well I think he was he was like I just made that up on the spot I think that’s why he point to his head he didn’t plan for this sometimes that’s where you get these unique moments you know I feel like Dave Nur had a few moments like this where he’s might have stuffed something up or did something different in his run and he just kind of went off the top of his head and I think that’s what Jo just did there that was beautiful I can’t even tell you the last time we saw Riders actually doing kick flips in the Run kick flips three oh no this is that’s it that’s he did the three whip to Tire bars to t-bug the only person I’ve ever seen do that trick so that’s the thing with Yoji quick combos of the traditional trick and he’s got a free he’s got oh that’s it fine he rolled away let’s go and here we go a that’s a see so transferring into the cheese grater into a fakey rolling backwards I’m going to say this that’s the only fakey you’re going to see today I think I think it might be the only fakey you’re going to see wasn’t it good I mean most of the time we see fakes in Street competition in spine rep competition but never in these in these BMX freestyle World Cups exactly and unique I was talking about being unique and there it was that was definitely unique and I need all the rest of the Run was amazing as well to to bring out the three whip tie Buzz t-bog a trick that no one else does incredible and so smooth doing it for team Japan I really like the jersey that they have it’s it’s simple it’s clean it’s a stylish right like just like they’re writing and there you go 79 and maybe the judges put in the fact that it was improvised you know when you kind of know oh we didn’t do the the run that he might have wanted to do then they kind of go oh well we might have to take away from certain aspects but in the Unique Style the criteria [Music] heing now isb’s his run was starting off incredible he he had the big 720 over the the street spine he’s dropping in in a unique position there 540 t i just realiz the other one might have been Oppo cuz he oh there’s that cash roll yes or he might have over rotated the 270 that’s right the 720 oh please just keep doing it keep going man your run was amazing we want to see you finish it off 540 oh he choosing to do this flag transfer oh was huge that time this is where he oh where he over rotated the last run I’m intrigued to see what the rest of his run would have had he might oh oh nice flip over the spine we’re clenching our seats as some of these Maneuvers happen it’s just interesting cuz you see like maybe they had more they had more in mind to do but then when they pull back they they forget that okay now I have to kind of do the trick differently if you’re doing a three combo it’s up differently to how you just do a 360 so if you choose to do a 360 and it was going to be a three combo sometimes you’ll you’ll switch it up and you might put a bit too much effort into the 360 and over rotate it but this cash roll beautiful cash rolls straight into a flare in the 720 I think this is where he may have been not perfect and that’s why he chose to take a foot off yeah I think he was going to case so he was going to hang the back wheel so he chose to take the foot off to push his back whe over look at his helmet Dawning the pat Casey forever sticker we still have Pat Casey on our hearts and also at this Festival we’re going to have the spine Ram contest on Saturday honoring Pat Casey beautiful if I would be the French team and if they have two athletes to send to the Olympics which is they still have a shot at oqs I would have isan as my extra in case of of riders get injured or ill also at the Olympics you can always have an extra Rider with you in case something would happen I think for team UK that was James Jones that was the extra for de Brooks for example so I mean I I don’t know if this score is going to beat his last one but I feel he might have done more of his run actually so it will it will beat it 62.5 putting him in 13th but hey he walking away safe and that’s uh sometimes that’s the best thing you know that’s more than you can ask for solid riding by Sean wasn’t feeling in that first run so he’s going to go all in put all his Feast chips in here needs the 64 to get to 12 but I think he want a little bit more than that to be safe fine who he outed the pedal I’m so glad he outed the pedal before the the spine there because he just snuck that in oh beautiful table on the uh pocket there Landing smooth on the truck on the box backwards plenty of speed 360 double down whip into a tower bear little Suman over here that’s good there’s not many tricks big tricks going over that hip I think that might have been one of the biggest ones I’ve seen so far over the hi whoa that was a flip opposite tail with so spinning the tail with the opposite way it’s kind of like using push up with the opposite foot exactly or riding your name with the opposite hand which is Terri like it’s very hard if you want to try that at home this run is awesome yes choosing to play that quarter that’s good putting down a solid run there I know he’s a aiming obviously 64 gets you to 12th but I feel like that was a a top tier run especially kicking opposite tail whips during your run it’s not the normal way you know you’re doing something completely opposite and unless you train that a lot it’s going to feel unusual this was where he’d almost pedal into the ramp like his front wheel so close to that coping of the spine table in the pocket air three double downside whips so there you go again that is uh two opposite tow whips in a normal 360 I think he pushed that opposite as well yeah wow so there’s two normal tow whips pushing with that back for here we have it you can see that’s opposite and you can see he has to catch both feet cuz he catches the back pedal and if he doesn’t catch both feet the the chances are that the crank will the back crank will drop and the front crank will go up and you’ll miss your front foot he what and is what can make you stand out from the competition doing those opposite footage tricks opposite spinning tricks opposite yeah opposite in general I feel like it stands out and it’s kind of something that you need to bring into your your runs these days just to stand out a little bit from the crowd and we’ll see here if it if it gets rewarded it’s something that we’ve been seeing at the last World Cups with Logan Martin as well like he’s been doing a lot more opposite footed well opposite pushing tricks yeah that’s call yeah you’ll see him do a a opposite flare opposite width and to the normal person to a person at home they might not even notice he does it that well that they might think that that’s normal for him but that’s completely opposite and again I say if you want to try something opposite maybe try writing your name on a piece of paper with your opposite hand and that’s kind of what it is like except you’re doing deying tricks on your BMX bike I mean if I’m being honest sometimes I don’t see it during the run I see it in the replays that it was actually like an opposite with opposite foot or opposite spinning I mean at this level they’re so good at it that it’s hard to cat sometimes especially when you have goofy rid Riders as well you see a goofy Rider do a normal and you think oh it must the opper but it’s actually goofy I’m thinking about I think LCA Luka Bon opposite footed uh Marx Christopher from the USA he’s com next week at o Bryce Bry tryan 78.2 that’s a beautiful score you can see I mean if you’re near the 80s you’re doing good I think statistically as he has a very good shot at making it into the finals and let’s just mention he came off um I think was a very low score in his first run so to back it up and get that score on the board he must be stoked all we’re going to go run number two from the powerful hungan he’s focused so focused right now his second run for his first time of riding a semifinal in a world cup starting off with that beautiful flip table Aly 360 transfer Taw the pocket box backwards gets it clean let’s get it yeah plenty of speed in this vert wall setting up for the jump box again and there it is 720 clean Ali Flair also clean getting everything is so Dar right now he’s going to line up for that double tail whip yes get it this time 270 [Music] tricking every every single uh Gap he’s doing he’s is he’s adding a trick back to the box jump flip double whip perfect wow you couldn’t have got any cleaner yes Zan three table that quarter yes we got a sh when when they finish on that quarter and they land it they’re into it let’s go yes he with that and that was incredible run so smooth you can always tell when when the flow criteria is met you’ll see less [Music] pedals and they’ll just add the pedals if they want to go super big go yes Z he’s at 720 Landing so smooth Landing perfect nice and high and Landing stomping this double whip this is what he slipped up in the first run yeah exactly and he fli up with this was so smooth woo pinching the pinching those cranks we’re getting this FL wh that would have felt good end of the run one minute in landing the flare whips move and there you go oh man look how stedy was that’s how you feel like every World Cup you’re going to see him and also the other Hungarian zultan Zoo Kemp every World Cup but in shangai it’s going to be Zoo Kemp so his friend riding the Olympic qualifier you can also see show up in the background there from Japan one of the The Young Riders did qualifying yes hits an 80 what oh my God be on that he’s definitely pumped like we’ve seen right before semifinals and like he was a bit nervous cuz this was his first semifinal he’s ever done wow he’d be stuck with that now he just needs to hold on that position but that’s a great position to be in the four in four let’s go mathematically in that fourth position I think he’s safe Already There You Go you’ve done good quick Mass catfish there amping up the crowd starting off with the flip drop Landing a little lower than before but look doesn’t matter gaining that speed back with the p perfect pumping come on lupos bar a over the spine oh my go to say he he landed a little low on the uh air he went to out of crank and then he opted to do a single whip he did a double whip in his first run he opted to do the flip whip because he didn’t have the same amount of speed it’s a w it’s a wicked spot at higher Island because we SE with Sean G as well like he had to crank that extra pedal to clear the spine in his trick same thing now with with brand like see he lands a little deep on this flip drop and then you could kind of tell when when theyy these guys land a little deep at the start of that run in and here we go chooses to do a single whip because he knew he knew he was going to be close so he opted to get back on the bike quicker so he could suck the bike in to try miss that back wheel but unfortunately he was he was uh too far gone but mate you’re sitting in first place you good there was Sasha Paro throwing gang science on the Stream still no one has landed into the river yet I don’t think we’re going to see that till maybe the second runs of the finals you don’t want to be completely drenched and your pads completely drenched last year it was Nick Bruce who tried the the spine that we see close to the river messed up on the 360 flip and then he just aborted Mission and jumped to River L honestly if I can’t think of a best trick I’m just going to try launch off the quarter on the right and land on one of those Inflatables Jen that could win I mean I I would put my money on you if I were judging I would uh crown that that’s the that’s the Mont pelier resi right there if you go off get that quarter into the into the river Mont peler REI I don’t think city of is going to be happy that you’re going to destroy their uh the property I didn’t tell him to do it I don’t don’t listen to me oh well you’re Australian you’ll get away with it I’m just a [Music] commentator brand lose 90 89.37 keeping that score from his first run Ozawa was in the was he in the first group I believe K was in the first group yeah look at him he’s still up there in third then that’s a that’s a good signway currently second place only just under four points behind lupos and I believe that he nearly stupped up on the box jump on his last jump so if he can fix that up whoa no he landed too low too low to keep going and you know what that’s that’s safe because obviously he’s sitting in the second place position position he knows that hey save it for the final yeah he’s safe I mean we only have seven more Riders to go he got that second spot only the top 12 is advancing to the finals so he’s good like he can go and take a sip of water and chill out and that’s his coach Greg illingworth the South African team coach of Team UK so you can see he just he landed below halfway and lost all that speed exactly and you can tell when you lose that speed at the very start of your run I feel like it’s almost worse than doing it near the end of your run because you you have so much ahead of you and you know that and then to to try to think about a now I got to like try gain this speed and do my hardest tricks I think I’ll just save it for the finals we have a one more riter up next Jo G yeah yoi yoi yoi ah the Japanese combination Powerhouse a true Ninja on a course one of the most unque Riders I’ve seen out here today on the course cuz he did the sail whip Tire grab to bargain that’s it we’re on it’s actually it was hard to catch when he first did it so you almost need the slow-mo replay to see it but here he is dropping in second run 3x to box backwards Landing so smooth and you can tell by look he gets over the top of the vert wall not allow to do don’t tell what did he just do did he just do no foot or did he do a crank foot it looks like it oh oh he’s okay okay he’s all right holy doly I need to see what oh my yeah he’s barer he’s like landed on bars moved yeah yeah stem slipped so what he’s done here is doing a one foot I believe it’s a opposite one foot table because it’s his opposite way uh that he would normally do a table and uh his foot he’s cranked it so hard that his foot came off halfway through the trick I’m sure we’ll get a replay but I also want to see that first box trick because yeah we get a B angle on that one oh no they’re going to show this is what happened you’re going to see him one foot table so hard that he’s back foot come off that’s that is terrifying I do that normal and that when that happens it’s like the most terrifying thing ever and it’s only because he tried to crank the one foot table so hard that was his tire to a like that that that’s actually pretty much inverted exactly and it probably what what would have happened is as the tie hit his shoulder it would have like vibrated his bike and then here we go I want to see this I thought crank crank flip I thought he was trying to do a crank flip but he just kind of caught a little far back so he had to like shimmy his feet yeah you’re right as soon as it hit his shoulder it kind of like his back foot fell off but he got out out of it safe so that’s all right sting in fifth right now a and that’s going to put Yoji into the finals that’s good I mean his first run was incredible so it’s crazy the level of riding though you know he can get pushed pretty far down right now and the fact that that can happen still is it makes this contest wild now after three Heats of four uh six Riders we have this Cur standing the these 12 Riders could go into finals but we still have one more heat of riders to go and these guys have qualified in the top position so expect to see even more coming soon in the next group so right now number 7 to 12 they’re in the danger zone if the other riders in heat four would step it up we can’t take it away from these Riders even though they they haven’t made the finals to make the semi-finals here the cut off is amazing like it’s insane so to make the finals is incredible okay we’re going to have a very short highlight break take a look at what happened in heat [Music] free chilling brother [Music] [Music] w Dan [Music] and welcome back to Feast 2024 at this BMX freestyle World Cup the man’s semifinals we already had 18 Riders that’s free heat of riders doing their best at having a shot into the finals tomorrow and we have this last Heat of six riders for you I’m in on T and I’m still here with Ryan Williams yeah let’s go last group I’m excited he Heavy Hitters in this one these were the best qualifying Riders from qualifications on Wednesday and we’re going to start off in South America with Jose Sedano Cabrera all right dropping in whoa boosting the spine to the take off of the box which is incredibly hard to just even jump 360 triple Tower with the Box getting super Wild on that one like almost Superman pedaling into this pocket oh beautiful pocket table air look back over the transfer tail with the here oh is a immense Talent he won the silver medal at the Pan-American games jum that step up oh I said there wasn’t going to be another push him and there’s another fo Jam so there’s your unique points right there whoa was that a transfer from the Step Up Landing yeah he he he he stepped down actually with the noer and he just boosted the oh he boosted the bank higher than I’ve ever seen any a double back F oh he go almost Landing into an em manual oh my gosh jumped out of my chair he pulled so hard but he’s got brakes he just landed in tie tap oh he we stoked on that also a huge talent to watch cor Sedano there was so much style in that run as well and the tricks and then obviously getting that foot jam something unique in the run and then ending with a double flip he’s running out of like steam at the end of his run and he just Hucks a double back flip and I thought he had too much pepper on it some of that chili and peppers right got that chili going oh my gosh let’s take a look at that that is over the transfer from the spine to the takeoff of the Box boosting a flare are we going to see the foot jams again maybe you got to hit a can jam next here it is keep on hopping yeah there only about four hops that’s all right and then this transfer 360 noan but that’s from the higher end back into the shallow like lower end of the course double back flip oh to Manuel count it Tony hog that’s two times multiplier and he was stoked I’m sure he was stoked to do a double back for at the end of your run is just it’s throwing it out there he knows he needs to get something crazy on the board to make this final I think he’s going to break the 80 Point barrier definitely I think he’s got it as well getting fist bumps Sewell Grace got Bryce there he’s also another bung put or Go Goofy Rider there we go 8.62 ooo fourth place he’s happy yeah oh yeah I’d be happy as well Jose we’ll see you tomorrow in finals oh that’s a good feeling that’s the the best thing about being in this last Heat you can you kind of know straight away if you land that that first R you can look at what the judges give you and you know hey I don’t even need a I could chill in my second run maybe do some practice so Samuel Grace he told me he’s 21 but he when he told me he was smiling from ear to ear so I don’t know I think he’s 21 but he’s going to start his run pretty wild here uh if it’s anything like the qualifying run here we go flip drop what jumping that H hitting the Step Up crank crank crank need a lot of speed for that step up Bart split whip down step down oh 720 the transfer a lot of guys just 360 in that he’s doing another Revolution he wants speed what’s he got on this box jump he’s been doing every qualifying run he did it oh flip bar tuck down with a this is good halfway through his run and he’s done so many tricks especially starting with that flip drop gets a trick on the ball straight away 1080 yes stops it that’s it perfect the Australian Vice Champion he even got the Drone shot as well 54 oh so many tricks in this run does he still have gas in the tank for those last seconds Oh I thought he’s not the B he decided wow what a run and for the crowd of flair oh wow he’s going to be stoked with that run I’m I’m here clapping in the boo they can’t I’m pretty far away but I hope you can hear me it’s a whole different level the men from the land down under Samuel just had a great edit drop too on YouTube so search his name if you want to if you like what you see make sure you check out his YouTube video he just made a new edit and it was absolutely insane he also likes to learn faky a lot of tricks does a lot of like flare to fakey tricks you can see 720 the transfer I was talking about how hard that is to make just coming up a little bit short on that but didn’t even affect him at all flip bar T I’ve seen that a couple weeks ago he was practicing 1080 here’s this 1080 right here we couldn’t really see how oh just in there could you imagine like just stomping your first 1080 on your practice compound and then doing in a competition and then he did this 540 flare which is no especially at the end of The Run incredible [Music] stuff yeah i’ just seen that on the uh Instagram the BMX Instagram the other day he did his first 1080 at the uh Compound on the go coast and there you go does the training and then pulls it out and now I’ve seen him land three for three on that 1080 the qualifying runs he did it in his qualifying and then now he’s landed in his first semi- run and we’re waiting for the judge to score I know it’s not easy to score that cuz that was an incredible run so many tricks from the start to the Finish cuz if I’m not mistaken Australia has its own training facility just forx yeah exactly they have uh the hurricane course out outside so they also have indoor skate park called the the hot box where they train but they also have the outside there you go 8012 so that means right now we have two Australians into the final already let’s go he’s going to be stoked on that Oh Canada it’s Maxim sh all right I had a conversation with him before the contest and he said his favorite is the big spine and then his least favorite obstacle is the weird feature which is the that I would call the nipple you know the uh the transfer that people have been doing so right next to the cheese grater so we have the cheese grater and the nipple now exactly exactly chees the nipple into the cheese graat I don’t like the sound of it either to be honest all right Fox jump Flip Flip bar bar so huge he’s going so high bar tuck over the here carrying a lot of speed able to transfer up to the spine the step down oh not going much for I was to say he’s not he doesn’t have much forward momentum but he was threading it sneaks it in there pocket table Landing a little low there but that’s okay gain the speed on that BT wall 360 triple Tower whip into a whip air three T there it is dial run so far from Maxim sh F friendly Canadian oh can over the transfer I mean that was pretty good for the least his least favorite part of the park and ending it on the Nissan quarter pipe solid run solid wants to get a score on the board 360 triple TI whip hanging onto that flip whip down the step down that was a good run good first run I mean looking at the results that we have so far from this semifinal I think he’s going to make it yeah it’s hard it’s hard to say like I think I mean going off what he got a he got a similar score I mean he did a similar run in the qualifying like um he was saying so I think that I think that he might have it here but we never know until it’s done flip Bara and so high the amplitud and how smooth he landed there was incredible is this the uh finished with a flare he also did a three triple wh I hope they show that cuz that was incredible but that’s all right we know what happened the judges know what happened let’s see what they are give him for a score if we’re talking about bar spin tricks is it easier to do like let’s say a double or triple bar Spin and letting your bars keep on flying or do you do it like a bar bar spin catch bar spin bar spin catch bar spin I mean throwing the bars the problem with just throwing it is that the wheel rotation of your front wheel it stops the bars so some of the guys can do a throw double bar but the front wheel needs to be gone quite slow I think Ryan nikist still does it like he throws him and he can do like two or and that’s cuz he has front he uses front Brak so he actually stops the front he locks the front wheel and that it makes the the bars spin easier so actually funny thing I’ve done front for double b spins but I would grab my wheel and then throw it there we go he’s sitting in 12th Place so that means he’s on the bubble I think no I think I mean he’s on the bubble like as in he’s in but he’s got some big Heavy Hitters coming in after him so but still the difference between him and Jack 11 spot or isos spot not too far so if he steps it up in that next round but first the British Bulldog deam Brooks whoa g a little deep there on the step down but that’s fine he’s going to carry speed he’s almost got legs of iron or something he he just pumps and he just goes a little faster than everybody else for some reason it’s he must train legs a lot and also he’s a bronze Olympic medalist and that’s the thing with dein he has so much pump in his SL so if he starts pedaling it’s not because he’s lacking speed it’s because he wants to go higher and dude we need transfers just like that and I was actually talking he said that was his favorite part of the course was the cheese grater and he just showed you why cuz he can blast it no he’s adding to I so he’s adding tricks to all um the tricks that I’ve seen him do in his qualifying so he’s bettering his score from quales right now airing opposite on the wall ride maybe yep going for the streets for run flipping it that is so hard to do you have to pop up and not forward stomping his first run he’s going to be stok with that adding the front flip tail whip to his run I think he just did a front flip handing qualifying and then obviously the unique transfers jumping up onto the top of that b wall and then into the uh the bank and then airing over the coping on the cheese grater he did something similar in China in October where he like he just kep boosting and then jumped all the way up onto the deck of a vert wall and then back into the ramps front flip tis are such a hard trick to do on a box jump that big because you have to bring your bike with you your bike wants to almost stay behind you here he is dropping off the so much speed boost hitting the the TV wall I said over coping and that was way over cooping and I think he added in the uh 360 back with no hander I don’t I don’t know if he did that in his qualifying so shout out to Dave M there air traffic controller es hey the cfish is on it too what’s in that water bottle mate that’s it’s given him so much boost that’s what gives him extra pump whatever’s in that water bottle I think it’s a lot of caffeine maybe yeah or red wine maybe maybe a rosade wine maybe here in here in France when in France have some wine on the course so it’s interesting so you see I always say that Dean always picks his pedals so you’ll notice like if he doesn’t need a pedal he won’t he’ll just pump he knows he can gain that speed with his legs in in the transition I feel like that gives him a great score when it comes to flow obviously he’s doing unique lines that’s going to score well uh for the unique part of uh the judging and then he has the huge tricks front flip to whip 360 back flip talk and you know when de starts ping it’s to have that extra boost it’s that Super Mario speed Super Mario Kart speed boost that you want putting him in the second spot 86.7 no stranger to the final no Str the absolutely no strange to the finals all right Bron let’s [Applause] go representing the United States of America the cool guy from Low Die is that what cish says I think so 360 look back he’s from low die that’s it so you can see this guy his goofy foot no double back flip perfect4 play yes oh my gosh back to back I saw him M breakfast and ask him Bryce what do you have up your sleeve for the semifinals he said maybe a double back flip maybe a 540 flare and he does them both 450 no hand of the box and he’s keeping this going Al player transfer catching up a little bit but that’s okay he knew he was going to case he’s going to gain the speed back on this vert wall 360 back flip that’s nice B there he just needs to get this run down pat come on Bryce you’re nearly done brother 360 topside bar spin so he’s spinning the bar the same way he spinning there you go 360 tail whip tuck no hand maybe time for one more there it is a flare one foot table the only guy I see really doing that trick and that’s because he rides goofy footed and it allows him to do one foot tables go the right way his preferred way he’s part of this new generation of riders from the USA I’m talking about him Jacob them Kaden Stone yeah let’s go he’s St with that can I get a water double back flip and he doesn’t even really pull he like has time to check out the landing time to check out the scenery into the 540 flip bone foot live that’s a power trick after power trick hitting the three flip as well I know he he’s got more to add he can add I know there’s a few things he can add to this oh look he’s got Dean holding an umbrella wellan has the merry Papa’s experience you know oh there you go and you can see there catching both feet at the same time goofy whips let’s go and he’s stoked with that representing the goofy Riders representing the USA oh look at that that’s nice let’s go May [Music] [Laughter] Ice to three maybe I don’t want to say keep the judg to the judges cuz it’s a bad habit of me like I always try to guess what where they’re going to end up yeah yeah I prefer the I prefer this seat to their seat I tell you that much there you go you’re close I’ll take it I’ll take it I’ll take it as well yeah brother oh I think that what might have might what might have docked him a little bit was just a few cases obviously he could have smoo things up a it but here’s the man with the plan we hear the crowd your Lo the French shushu he’s going to be representing France in the Olympics in July at PL it’s a one and only Anthony je nice song Choice he is our top qualifier for a reason and you’re going to see right here up the step up nice three whip Landing [Music] smooth flip double whip down hit the H carrying so much speed Superman India across the channel Gap whoa getting super dipped on the three transfer with a truck as well sorry liing up box jump 720 bar he pulls that second rotation all that power all that pulling pocket doubleb air it’s crazy cuz he makes it look easy and that’s why the tricks just cuz it makes it look easy doesn’t make the trick any less hard Al 540 Flair so traveling the opposite direction and spinning 540 flip air over the Box triple Tower whip 3 seconds to go f Spin Air and he’s going to say y mate I’ll see you in the finals taking the [Applause] stage the protagonist of this semi-final maybe Anthony Jean and I think on Sunday he has to take the plane to shangai to represent friends in that Olympic qualifier series that’s incredible so you can see a flip double wh and you’re going to notice he lands so smooth and that’s why he barely pedals the whole run you could maybe you could almost count his pedals on your hands was this Al 540 flare absolutely look at wow see how smooth he lands no doesn’t need a pedal goes straight into the next 360 oh The X up transfer carrying speed for the box jump triple tail whip like it nothing he’s already a French Legend I am intrigued by the score obviously the trick the level of Tricks were out there I think the one thing that makes him stand out a lot is just how smooth he is and how there’s the least amount of pedals and the the judging it isn’t just about doing the biggest tricks about it’s about doing the biggest tricks and Landing smooth making it look easy also the thing with Anthony is like he likes to do big transfers as well exactly he can go full speed and then still pull let’s say a super wide transfer and then while doing a double or even triple tail with yeah and keeping the amplitude he did the super Superman Indie transfer and he did it huge because he managed to land on that that hip close to the water he he went wide kept his speed got a great pump and there he is second just a point behind Brandon Loos exactly one point now the question will be is he going to play it save in a second run maybe s sit a second run out maybe do a bit of a show rather than than trying to get that first spot does he want be able to drop in in the same position he has now you know he has the advantage right now he’s going to get to watch Lup do his run and see is Lup going to betteries run you know so R Loos is uh is in that first place from the last group so technically if we would take these standings he would go last lupus would be the last Rider exct so we he would have would have that Advantage exactly and that’s why does do you want to risk it in this run in this semifinal to potentially have that advantage or do you feel like I’m in the finals let’s save it all I personally I would save it but it’s an advantage do you want the advantage do you feel like you need the advantage it’s up to joh J and still we got to right finals yester right next week in Shanghai so we’ll see he’s going to need the energy ah look from Chile this Jos Sedano the Pan amican Games silver medalist flying in he’s getting plenty of speed must be for something oh oh my gosh he want to to manual it please do it again he’s already qualified yeah we’ll see it tomorrow like we don’t see that as often as we used to do back in the days like back in the mid school days of BMX we would see a lot of transfers to Manuel and Jose is bringing it back well the the crazy part is the end dropping off the end out of manual who boosting the the bank so high oh we did see another fakey I was going to say we’re not going to see another fakey but that can’t gracias but like the way he was setting up for the cheese grad like just like getting high getting all that speed like you know he was up to something I was like where are you going oh see there’s another fakey he’s just having fun he was doing that for someone I don’t know for who he did it but he he pointed his fingers like that’s one’s for you he might toed to catfish maybe I mean he’s he’s in the finals like I think he’s just glad to be here yeah all the way from Chile here it is trying to get to Manuel and that’s the sketchy is like oh you got to decide he decided straight away like you can’t you can’t drop the wheel when it’s past that point of no return so he decided like I’m going to get this down before I cuz you’re landing on the top of that wall but then you need to like steer towards yeah the quarter that’s below you that you can’t see you can’t see so you’re jumping you’re jumping blind actually you are definitely jumping blind you’re manualing blind you know somewhere down there he needs to get like a marker and like draw a little [Music] arrow he St yes you’ll see see him in the finals tomorrow oh here we go next up it’s another Australian it’s going to be S we’re going to see him in the finals tomorrow but we get a run two from him representing Australia this is lad’s go Sam wall I asked Sam what his favorite part of the park was and he said everything so there we go and his least favorite is this the step up but there he is doing it perfect the sights of P bar spin to no hander FP whip down and is perfect up one hand up oh flare Downy flare downside tail whip Landing a little low trying to get speed I think he’s going to go with the flip B talk oh that’s okay he wants to improve that position cuz right now he would be in the first group of riders for the finals he wants to get into that second group of the top six Riders here we go into the box we know what’s happening oh was going to say to ride off the side of the ramp I think getting some practice in break that back wheel mate first time first time are doing well sitting in eighth place making it to the finals tomorrow finals tomorrow that 1080 is a thing of beauty [Music] what double back Hearts 270 outs I’ve been seeing him I’m I’m not going to give it away actually there’s some there’s a part of the course that no one’s written yet that I’ve seen Sam writing and I think he’s tomorrow so he’s going to add it to his final run so keep it a secret I will I will stay tuned he’s going to stick with his first run the 80.2 sitting in eighth place should maintain at least a spot in the finals I mean yeah he has to eighth place can’t really get pushed but here we go we got Maxim shif right now in that 15th spot he still has that second run and can he use that second run to get the last spot in the top 12 and that spot into the finals tomorrow Four Points he needs to G gain and there you go 450 bar tck over the hit into the landing of the box jump there’s that flip bar bar Perfect come on Maxim he wants that final spot he’s adding tricks from his first run I can see him adding more and more so he knows that he needs a little bit more of a high score no sucked him into the back wheel can he I mean honestly he’s got to make up four points can he like oh I feel like maybe we’ll have to find out what the judges will have to say about his run I thought maybe he was going to just uh go on ham because that’s kind of what he would need to do but he’s still put on a show a that’s such a bummer he was so close but that’s just the level of this ride oh nice flare wh the finish off that’s just the level of the riding today the level of the riding is just so high that slipping you P one slip up in the semis it’s it’s a hard push to make it to the finals but I mean 360 triple toip on the step down there’s only two other people I’ve seen doing that today and there’s a reason why it’s such a scary obstacle to do tricks like that but boosting the flip B bman two full Revolutions of the bars in a back flip straight into a flair Landing so high to get to keep the speed here’s this 360 triple Tower here oh he missed the front foot just missed the front foot he would need more than 4.01 points get pass 77.5 from ay Finley it’s just a really hard spot to ball as well maybe sometimes you can s put somewhere else but there it is going to stick with his first run score unfortunately not making him [Music] through all right dein Brooks from Portsmouth bronze Olympic medalist in Tokyo 2021 who here the speed he needs to get up there oh another manual same question will be does he want to improve his score compared with Anthony and Brandon he wants to get this trick that’s what he wants he’s for the yes yes yes yes yes yes and he gets it he just wants some practice for tomorrow this is his the best time for practice I mean that already gives that confidence boost for the next who wants to pull that oh there it is he’s got a call it a day thank you melier mer [Music] melier so we have Jos and Dean doing manuals on top of that ver wall I feel like I mean it’s Unique it stands out no one else is really going up the top other than you know Joi he’s like airing over the top almost tapping the top but look at this launching out that’s so high almost two two per two people high you’re launching out of a I don’t know about 6ot ramp there it is in yeah bit of a pedal push and up back into the pocket hopping the FR looking at the handlebars reading what’s on the stem checking out what stem he’s got you know got my St to the line we’re fine just holding on so we already know that’s going to be the throw score he’s going to keep score from his first run two Riders remain so we have all the way from across the pond from the USA we have Ry Tryon so there you go after uh we now know basically the final run the finals lineup but now it just comes down to what positions will they end up and it will be it can be a position switch in that second heat of the finals so right now Bryce would be the second one in that second heat oh okay Anthony has that fifth spot into the second heat lineing up the box ah Superman seat okay I think we’re getting some sty points here cuz I know Bryce has some bigger tricks obviously we love a good seat grab but sit down three shout out to Josh dby he’s the man that sit down 360s but you can tell Bryce he’s happy with where he’s at he’s in the finals he’s in the second group up some love look at this almost died on that almost died on that he said the Superman say it look good it’s always so fun to hear the rider miked up so you wouldn’t have to say the course you a lot of shenan is going on on the course I love that you hear him it’s CU he’s sitting close to the camera forever as always Pat Casey forever love you dog tough one we Miss Pat so much he was here last year not without [Music] him PR score will be I’m stok that they have the pat Casey the contest coming up later when is it when what is it uh which day is it tomorrow it’s on Saturday evening actually there you go in the big city Square it’s uh open to everyone so it’s it’s free of charge and it’s a party I all of Mont bellia all Beast is a party I’ve noticed all right what’s he going to do we’ll see maybe he’s going to get some practice oh I mean that this is similar to what he did in his first run oh he is gone for it he wants that top spot like he wants to qualify as a first Finals nope he’s just gone a little wide on the hip and he missed his pump for the Superman Indian transfer but maybe get get yourself some pre practice Man solo practice only one out look at this you would have thought he obviously it could be a throwaway run but he’s still doing these big tricks and that just shows you that he has all these tricks unlocked maybe he’s checking out the line that he wants to perform tomorrow by 44 he’s literally doing some practice and he’s putting on a show for the crowd you know Hometown crowd I heard that he started riding BMX because he came to a feast mon yeah absolutely he got inspired as a kid and then with all the Investments that the city of M did the Investments That fees it they have a really nice skate park around here and they they often say Anthony jeanan he’s made in friends but actually he’s made in fees and here you go flip double whip on the step down perfect 720 basing over the Box well welcome to the party straight into the flare down with so smooth so clean and this Aly 540 Flair like wow just and this look at that [Music] Dismount incredible writing here at Beast peler stok to to be here my first one it’s incredible like all the events you’ve got so many different you know Sports and uh I’m so Keen to check them all out we got break dancing we got scooters we got eight different skate parks Milly and you might be Computing yourself right yeah I’m thinking about maybe doing best trick but when these guys are doing best tricks in their runs I’m like oh man what am I going to do I need some practice well they used to have a dirt competition at Feast couple years ago so maybe bring it back if anyone the board board of directors is listening from we would like to have a dirt contest again and we’ll have Ryan Williams Oh we can have a big resi contest come on I mean why we do we need resi we have the river True mon peler resi there you go he’s going to take his first run score [Music] 88.37% this semifinal qualifying as the first Rider so he gets that second heat spot last place to ride so he’s going to have that advantage and these are all the other Riders so we have Riders from all over the world competing here at Feast at UCI BMX freestyle World Cup tomorrow in the finals also shout out to lbos he he came from eth he qualified eighth and now here he is in the top position and hats off to riders that competed that made it all the way into like through qualifications into the semi-final for a lot of them this was their first time riding a semi final so perhaps to them exactly the level of riding so high even just doing the qualifying some of the guys in that qualifying that give me a run from my money so congrats to everyone now we’ve had a great semifinal city of moner we absolutely love you Ryan how did you like live stream so far oh amazing stoked to be here stoked to be on the mic and uh yeah I
