Fundraiser: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/monkeyshredukraine

Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is abhorrent. I’ve sat here watching the news feeling helpless… wanting to help. One way I realised I can give back is by starting a fundraiser / raffle and so, this bike was born.

I’ve taken this 1970s British steel and painted it in colours similar to the Ukrainian flag. A one off paint job with some parts generously supplied by the folks over at Santa Fixie.

I’ve set up the fundraiser above where you can donate and by doing so you’ll not only be helping those on the ground, you’ll be in with a chance of winning with bike.

With a goal of £250 in mind, each £10 donation will count as one entry. Entries will be drawn on 20/3/2022 or whenever the goal is hit if it hasn’t been achieved by that date. Please note I cannot provide shipping outside of the UK! Please make sure you include a YouTube username or Instragram handle… something that I can use to get in touch with you after.

    1. Great job. Happy to make my contribution. Just sorry I had to give some thumbs down to some of the comments. Beyond belief that anyone could look at this situation and think that right lies with Putin.

    2. Awesome job…. where do I sign up I have various bikes in different states of repair (including a vintage lightweight Lance Armstrong looking bike) that I would love to get rid of to help Ukraine

    3. So cool. I’m also building up an old blue Diamondback Ascent with yellow cables and thought about selling it and donating the proceeds to the Red Cross for Ukraine. Ran into some FD issues I couldn’t fix so brought it to my LBS to sort it. Hope that doesn’t eat into the profit margin.

    4. Thank you! This really means a lot. Just recently I've bought myself a new bike after two year break in cycling and I was so happy to ride again. One of my first words were that I'm the happiest man in the world and even if I die in a week or so it was still a good purchase. I still mean it, but I didn't want my words to be prophetic. War kills all fun in life and life itself. I can't read, can't ride even though I'm not in the army now and my city only sometimes gets missile attacks (al least for now). Thanks again!

    5. Looks very Kuwahara to me. The paintjob does. Good job!
I am kind of building a bike for Ukraine myself right now. Only I will give it directly to the family from Ukraine that is living in our basement flat since last week. I hope this madness down there will stop soon.

    6. Great job. If you're interested to help I can share you contacts of Kiev's and Lviv's bike activists whom you can send this bike to. This gonna help guys a lot to deliver meds and loads within destroyed areas more agile since cars can't pass in certain spots. Slava Ukraini!

    7. Hi! i'm from Ukraine. Seems author of this video never seen or never even try to imagine our roads. This bike can be used only in Germany or Amsterdam – we able only use at least 2 inches wheels on our roads, and cross country bikes…

    8. Just..
I hope it won't end up in the hands of those Ukrainian Neo-Nazi fascists, that like to butcher people! Nice PR😉 Btw..!
