it was on March 18th 2023 when mother of 6 Angela Craig in Denver Colorado was pronounced brain dead at 4:29 p.m. but what was the cause Angela had been completely healthy when she was suddenly plagued with a mysterious illness and it had started a course of debilitating illness ultimately causing her organs to shut down it mystified doctors it had only been a few days prior on March 5th when 43-year-old Angela returned home after a trip to Utah to visit her sister on the morning of March 6th Angela messaged her husband 45-year-old James Craig after not feeling well they started talking about the protein shake that he had made for her that morning and she had asked if James had added more vitamins than she normally took she was feeling dizzy and her head was foggy she eventually went to the hospital emergency room at Parker Adventist Hospital hital but they couldn’t find the cause and they sent her home that same day a few days later on March 9th she was suffering from a worsening of symptoms she was dizzy and having a hard time focusing she had also started vomiting couldn’t keep medication down had headaches and was starting to become extremely dehydrated she was admitted again to the Parker Adventist Hospital she was tested for everything that they could think of in text messages between her and her husband and her and her friends friend they discussed how it was believed that she might have diabetes or an autoimmune disorder but all the tests were coming back negative in text James wrote to Angela quote baby I love you so much I wish I could just stay up there for 24/7 and be with you I know it’s lonely and boring and maybe sometimes scary and I just want to be there to support you through all of it James was constantly messaging his wife asking how she felt if she was improving and how much he loved and cared about her and wished her well for days she would not see much if any Improvement she would be in the hospital until March 14th when they could not figure out what had been wrong with Angela she was discharged and put on oxygen at home less than 24 hours later Angela’s brother rushed her to the Colorado University Hospital at approximately 11:00 a.m. her husband James would arrive very soon after she was admitted Angela complained of a severe headache and dizziness and at approximately 2: p.m. she had a seizure and would start to decline rapidly doctors struggled to intubate and she suffered intracranial pressure and no pupil response Angela was moved to the Intensive Care Unit and doctors said her prognosis was very dire his business partner and best friend arrived and pulled a nurse aside before we proceed I’ve got an exciting surprise for you we’ve launched a brand new channel dedicated to intriguing content such as old historical mysteries cold cases and particularly chilling horror stories perfect for bedtime drop a comment letting us know if you’re a fan of horror stories or not you can find the link in the description below let’s find out who will be the first to explore it all right let’s dive back into the video informing her that they had suspicions that Angela may have been poisoned by her husband he went on to explain that an employee of his had come to him that morning reporting an odd encounter that she’d had with Dr Craig earlier that week right before Angela had gotten sick she said that an OD package had been delivered to the office and she opened it accidentally inside was a substance that they did not use nor had any reason to be delivered to their dental practice the substance was labeled as potassium Cyanide and when Dr Craig noticed that she’d opened the package he said that it was a personal item and took it into his office they hadn’t thought much about it but when Angela had gotten so sick and was still so sick she considered the package and that it might not have been a mysterious illness after all that was when she told the other managing partner what she’d seen however this realization would come too late but who was Angela Craig born Angela Don pre she was born on April 15th 1979 in Dodge City Kansas she was part of a big family one of 10 children and she got out of Dodge as her obituary said after marrying James Craig on December 18th 1999 in the 23 years of their marriage she had six children and the family had had lived in Denver Colorado they had lived in the area for 15 years she was described as kind energetic intelligent and had a good humor the sort of person that would show up for anything and she had a huge ability to forgive both Angela and James were Elders in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints James counseled Youth and Angela was the choir director and also worked as a family history consultant for their Church Angela had also confided in her sister that James had an addiction to pornog graphy and had been caught having multiple Affairs she also revealed that James was also gambling and he was in a considerable amount of debt the family had already filed for bankruptcy in 2021 and they were likely going to have to file again James was on the verge of losing their home and Business Law Enforcement arrived at the hospital just after midnight on March 16th shortly after their arrival they learned Angela was in a coma and that doctors were unsure if she was going to make it through the night on March 18th at 4:29 p.m. Angela was pronounced brain dead and James opted to pull the plug he had also been adamant with the hospital not to do an autopsy and wanted to quickly arrange a cremation the investigation into her death started before she had been pronounced dead however James wasn’t unaware that there was an investigation into her death that had started long before the 18th Angela’s toxicology would show that she had three different unusual substances in her system at the time that she died potassium cyanide Arsenic and tetrahydroxy and her death was ruled a homicide the police investigation started on March 16th they got search warrants for the home dental practice and James devices multiple workout style shakers used to drink those protein powders a computer tablet two different unlabeled plastic bags with a white powdery substance and a water bottle on an exercise bike a Child Protective Services caseworker would also contact law enforcement after they had interviewed James and his children individually they informed law enforcement that James had made some concerning statements focusing on that he had said that Angela had severe depression and had been suicidal for some time James had also told the caseworker that he had found Angela after attempting to take her life and had personally revived her on several occasions he also said that he had asked his wife for a divorce in December 20122 and that her Depression had got much worse after that he informed the caseworker that she had previously overdosed on opioids and that she would likely have something in her toxicology report but he didn’t know what it would be the caseworker felt compelled to report this to the police because none of the children reported any kind of depression from their mother or any previous suicide attempt the children ages range from 20 to 8 years old certainly the older kids would have noticed their mother having some sort of decline in mental health but they hadn’t noticed anything unusual with their mother the casew worker ultimately believed that it would be unlikely that no one else living in the house other than James would have missed these signs or evidence of depression or suicide they thought it was very much more likely that James was setting up a cover story James business partner and his wife would provide the police with statements and screenshots of their text message conversations that James had with them James and his business partner had gone to dental school together and they had known each other’s families for decades they knew Angela and the kids and were deeply concerned about James Behavior while Angela had been ill the messages include a message to his business partner expressing how mad he was that he had told authorities about the package that had been delivered to the office and that he was very unhappy that the children had to see their mom for the last time after police had gotten their evidence he said that if he cared for them at all he would not talk to the police unless forced this was the message James sent to his business partner quote I understand why you did what you did I do I get it but if you’d come to me personally man-to-man instead of talking to everyone else about what you thought you knew I might have let you in on some details that would have made you less likely to cause this horrible storm if you had only put me higher on your list of priorities instead of putting everyone else’s opinions and gossip ahead of me for that I’m very very mad at you with the search of both James and Angela’s phone police were able to check past text message conversations between the couple on the days that led to the 18th first they found a conversation about not telling telling her sister about conversations that they’d had the night before this conversation happened on March 1st when she was visiting Utah the conversations would also include her time not feeling well including the first day she wasn’t feeling well and James message quote given our history I know that this must be triggering for the record I didn’t drug you I’m super worried though you really looked pale before I left like in your lips even and while Angela had still been in the hospital he texted this message to a friend quote if it wasn’t my wife this would be kind of a fun puzzle to try to work out Angela’s sister would later tell the police that James had drugged Angela approximately 5 to six years prior she said that Angela had told her that she had been drugged with an unknown substance because James had told her he had done it so that he could go to the bathroom and give himself a lethal injection he apparently drugged her so that she would not find him or be able to stop him before the injection took effect Angela had apparently told her that there had been no evidence that he’d ever tried to commit suicide and the two didn’t speak of it again her sister also told police that the marriage between James and Angela had always been tumultuous James had multiple Affairs over the years and he had told his wife he’d been addicted to pornography since he was a teenager law enforcement would talk to the office manager from dental practice she had worked as their office manager for about 6 months and she told police in her interview that she’d been told that on March 6th James and his wife had worked out together and that he had given his wife extra protein in her Shake because she was feeling sluggish and that she had started to feel unwell and had been taken to the hospital and after his wife had been discharged the first time she had found James an exam room 9 on a computer in there which had been odd because he had his own computer in his office and a laptop that he often took home with him he would not have needed to use that computer except with a patient and he was alone shortly after she left the office with James still in the exam room she got a text message from James saying that a package was going to be delivered to the office but it was personal and to not open it in the following days Angelo was back in the hospital James had said he was unsure if his wife was quote unquote going to make it in the same sentence and also asked how the business was doing which she had found odd on March 13th when the package arrived the office manager discovered that one of the other office staff had opened the package not knowing it was for James personally the office manager went to recal the package so she could put it in James office when she noticed a packing slip for potassium cyanide she had never seen it delivered to the office and she didn’t know a need they would have for it she resealed the package and hand delivered it to James when Angela was back in the hospital she looked at the side effects of cyanide poisoning and it matched her symptoms that was when she then informed the business partner on March 17th police started Ed to look into James web history they discovered that on the computer hard drive found in exam room 9 James had another Gmail account different than the one that they knew with this email James had conducted searches for how many grams of pure arsenic to kill a human is arsenic detectable in an autopsy the same account was used to order arsenic metal from Amazon on February 27th 20123 and it was delivered to his home on March 4th more searches were conducted in including YouTube searches for top five undetectable poisons that show no signs of Foul Play how to make poison the top 10 deadliest plants that can kill you the top five undetectable poisons video listed both Cyanide and arsenic as follows quote cyanide found in countless items in the home and other locations 1.5 mg per kilogram of body weight is a fatal dose for humans arsenic is virtually undetectable besides the marsh test used in murder and mystery this was not only the chemical that was ordered using this Gmail account James had also ordered potassium cyanide from Midland scientific his order confirmation came through on March 9th after some emails back and forth for proper forms to be signed in the emails James said it was for surgery and he needed delivered the next day the emails between Midland scientific and James showed that he would get the package on March 13th not the next day this is believed to be the package that was opened by office staff while looking into this new email police would also find correspondence between a woman and James that seemed to be intimate in nature two flight itineraries were found with this woman traveling from Austin Texas to Denver Colorado the dates of these flights were March 8th to 10th and March 16th to 20th the second itinerary was purchased on March 4th the same day that the Arsenic arrived and they were able to learn that this woman was an orthodontist who James had met at a conference earlier in the year she has since had an interview where she explained that when they met she was in the final stages of a lengthy divorce and that James had told her he was also getting a divorce according to her James had told her that he was already living apart from his wife the two had lengthy conversations about the struggles they faced while ending long marriages bonding over navigating moving forward and other experiences that she believed they were both experiencing the two had only just started dating and it hadn’t been a serious relationship yet and she hadn’t been rushing into anything she has since fully cooperated with law enforcement once all of his lies came to light she wanted to set the record straight that they had not started talking about a future together so she didn’t believe that she had been any sort of motive to murder Angela she also said that had she known he was still married and living as his wife she wouldn’t have ever dated him she also revealed that the two had two dinner dates together while his wife was was on life support in the hospital James had told her that his wife was sick in the hospital and she said that he didn’t seem stressed or anxious at that time on their second date James had said that Angela was dying so she ended their date insisting that he should be with his family experts speculated that it had been the protein shakes that James had been preparing for Angela that had been poisoned as it was the only thing in the home that wasn’t consumed by the rest her toxicology showed that she had likely been given small amounts at first and when it wasn’t working fast enough she had been given larger and ultimately more lethal doses showing that it wasn’t an accident and had been a calculated thought out plan James had designed to end his wife’s life with intent and Malice news reports also show that Angela had three life insurance policies with the beneficiaries being James Craig James had lost a considerable amount of money from investing in cryptocurrency his business partner described James as a significant risk-taker and took that approach to investing but it had put him into millions ions of dollars of debt James Craig has not made a plea at this time and he has been assigned a public defender Angel’s family including the children have asked for privacy James was initially held without bond because it was a capital offense but a Colorado Supreme said that judges must set a bond in first-degree murder cases however the bond was ultimately set at 10 million cash only James does not seem to have paid that at this time James Craig was set to put in a plea for the charges against him but they have been delayed and at the time of recording have not recurred James Craig has not been convicted of this crime and the trial will likely go forward if you’d like me to cover the trial or give any updates on the outcome leave a comment down below so what are your thoughts do you think James killed his wife and do you think the motive was money or being with another woman John perfumo was a British soldier and politician born in 1915 he attended Oxford University and in 1940 he became the fifth Barren perfumo of Italy having succeeded his father he was a British MP from 1940 to 1963 and was an army officer during the war he was appointed Secretary of War by the British prime minister Harold McMillan in 1960 as war minister he was in charge of overseeing the British army the post was a junior cabinet position but he looked a good candidate for future promotion he was a wealthy politician and was even a personal friend of Queen Elizabeth he undoubtedly had an aristocratic background in 1960 he married Valerie Hobson a famous actress he was a man of great education wealth and power Steven Ward was born in 1912 in Hertfordshire his family had a clerical and military background his father was a Vicor so his upbringing was centered around religion he was educated in Dorset at canterford school one of the most expensive boarding schools in the country he was however seen as a lazy student who achieved very little in his time there in 1929 he left the UK and went to the United States to study at Kirksville college to become an osteopath however it wasn’t until the late 1930s that he became a qualified osteopath due to him returning to London and working in various different fields of work he served in the British army during the war where his skills became known to all around him in 1944 he was posted to India and in October 1945 Ward returned to England after being discharged from the Army due to a disability being an osteopath allowed him to quickly grow a large Social Circle having clients from all walks of life Sports people and people in Show Business he frequently attended parties and hosted various ones of his own yevi Ivanov was born in Russia on the 11th of January 1926 in 1944 he joined the red Navy and was trained by the Soviet Military Intelligence in 1960 he was posted to London as an assistant Naval adese he was accompanied by his wife Maya the British MI5 saw him as a Russian spy and tried to make him change Allegiance and side with them however this proved to be unsuccessful Christine Keeler was born in London in the year 1942 she had a very different upbringing to perfumo Ward and Ivanov her childhood was difficult and she experienced many hardships when she was just a young child her father deserted the family leading to Christine and her mother living in a converted Railway Carriage near Windsor throughout her teenage years she was sexually abused by her mother’s lover and his friends when she left school her future didn’t look promising she had no qualifications and was in and out of different jobs Christine was a very beautiful girl and men would always approach her with no qualifications or a trade she eventually found a job in a nightclub called it was one of those nights when Christine was working at Moray she met Steven Ward and soon after their first meeting she moved into his flat their relationship however was purely platonic they frequently attended parties together where Ward would introduce his friends to Christine over the weekend of the 8th and 9th of July 1961 Lord Aster and his wife hosted a small house party at clion their country estate their guests included the Secretary of State for war John perfumo and his wife the same weekend Steven Ward was also hosting a house party at his Country Home Spring cottage which was within the grounds of the estate Ward’s guests included Christine Keeler and her lover Soviet Naval adese as it was a warm evening Ward decided to take his friends to Lord Aster’s house for a dip in the swimming pool where they were discovered by Lord Aster and his guests Steven Ward introduced 46-year-old British government Minister John perfumo to 19-year-old model Christine Keeler despite being a British politician and 27 years her senior John perfumo found Christine very attractive and continually pursued her a few weeks later Christine and John became lovers the relationship was at first very intense but sometimes before the end of 1961 perfumo ended the relationship so in 1961 a young British girl was sleeping the British government Minister for war and a Russian spy but the affair with John perfumo had ended and Christine got on with her life in 1962 Christine started seeing Johnny edcom an ex- Merchant Seaman from Antigua he was possessive and violent So Christine ended the relationship due to his domineering Behavior edcom hated the thought of Christine being with anyone else so on the 14th of December 1962 he arrived at Christine’s flat demanding to see her when he was not allowed in he fired several shots at the front door the police were called and shortly afterwards edum was arrested and charged with attempted murder the story of the shootings was given considerable coverage in the newspapers and when Christine was questioned during a subsequent police invest investigation details of her affair with John perfumo came public she also omitted a concurrent relationship with Ivanov when the Johnny edum trial started Christine was due to give evidence but suddenly went missing she had in fact gone to Madrid by now it was March 1963 and Westminster and indeed the whole country was full of rumors about John perfumo Presence at wild parties and his association with Christine and there were suggestions that she had been packed off to a hiding place in Madrid to avoid an embarrassing cross-examination which was aimed to protect people in high places questions were asked in the House of Commons about the suspicious and intriguing circumstances surrounding the missing witness who had fled to Madrid and was eventually Tracked Down by newspaper reporters pretty young lady sleeping with both a British government Minister and a Russian spy at the same time was something the members of parliament for the opposition labor party were not going to let go on March 21st 1963 a labor MP for Dudley raised the issue in the House of Commons inviting John perfumo to affirm or deny the rumors of his improprieties this was apparently not to embarrass the conservative government but because of the Ivanov connection which meant it was a matter of National Security behind closed doors however British intelligence had already concluded that perfumo had not compromised National Security in any way and also found little evidence implicating ianov as a SP by nevertheless the opposition labor party had raised the issue and perfumo had no choice but to stand up before Parliament on March 22nd and make a statement he denied all the charges saying there was no impropriety whatsoever in his friendship with Miss Keeler he said that he would not hesitate to issue rits for Lial and slander if scandalous allegations are made or reported about him this statement was incredibly accepted by the Prime Minister and the cabinet Downing Street described the matter as closed perfumo convincing denial diffused for Scandal for several weeks in May do Steven Ward went on trial in London on charges of prostituting Christine Keeler and other young women in a highly sensationalized trial Christine keler testified under oath about her relationship with perfumo Ward also wrote to Harold Wilson leader of the labor opposition party and confirmed that perfumo had lied to the House of Commons on June 4th perfumo returned from a holiday in Italy and confessed to conservative leaders that Miss Keeler had been his mistress and in fact his March for 22nd statement to the House of Commons was untrue on June the 5th he resigned as war minister British prime minister Harold McMillan was widely criticized for his handling of the scandal in the press and in Parliament McMillan was condemned as being old out of touch and incompetent in October he resigned under pressure from his own government he was replaced by conservative Alec Douglas Hume but in the general election of 1964 the conservatives were swept from Power by Harold Wilson’s labor party the perfumo affair is one of the most famous British scandals of the 20th century and many claim that the Scandal brought down the government Steven Ward went on trial in July 1963 and was abandoned by his Society friends and exposed to the contempt and hostility of Prosecuting Council and judge despite the relative lack of evidence and dismissal of most of the charges against him he was convicted on two counts of living off immoral earnings however before the verdict was announced Ward took an overdose of sleeping pills and died 3 Days Later 51 years later in 2014 the trial verdict was put under review by the criminal cases review Commission on December the 6th 1963 Christine Keeler was jailed for 9 months for perjury she had lied in court in an attempt to secure the conviction of another lover who she had met after her relationship with perfumo had ended she was released in 1964 after serving 4 and a half months in prison she went on and had two brief marriages and produced two children she largely lived alone most of the money she had made from newspaper stories due to the perfumo case was spent on legal fees Christine spent much of her later life as she had her childhood poor poor and living in social housing Christine died on December 4th 2017 age 75 ivanof was recalled to Moscow in December 1962 prior to the pumo affair becoming public knowledge Upon returning to the Soviet Union he continued his Naval career being assigned to the Black Sea Fleet his wife Maya left him when his affair with Christine became public he did not remarry and in 1994 was found dead in his Moscow flat at the age of 68 John perfumo retreated from public life and dedicated himself to voluntary work cleaning toilets at the charity Toby Hall in East London he continued to work there for the next 40 years only reluctantly taking on a more prominent role as Chief fundraiser the good work earned him redemption in the eyes of many and in 1975 he was awarded the CBE 20 years later he sat next to the queen at Margaret Thatcher’s 70th birthday party his wife stayed loyal to him through it all and also devoted herself to charity work until her death in 1998 John perfumo died of a stroke at the age of 91 in 2006 it was on October 13th 1987 in Boise Idaho when Joyce Casper was found in her car just a few blocks from her business Casper’s Vista Hallmark and gift shop she had been murdered mured and her death would shake the community Joyce was 65 years old when she died Joyce is well known in the community to be kind and caring she and her husband who was a pharmacist owned a pharmacy until 1986 until they opened Casper’s Vista Hallmark and gift shop her husband John Casper had died in 1982 and Joyce continued to run the shop after his death John and Joyce had three children together two daughters and one son Joyce was known to work late and it wasn’t odd for her to be at the shop until very late in the evening so she could have been attacked any time between the evening of October 12th and the early morning of October 13th authorities would eventually release that they believed Joyce had been abducted from her shop sexually assaulted and strangled to death before being put in her car and driven away another significant piece of evidence was that Joyce had reported being attacked in her shop 2 weeks prior to her murder but she had managed to scare him off off and the attacker had run away quickly during the encounter he had attempted to assault her she reported that the man was in his late teens early 20s with slicked back black hair nor the man who had killed Joyce the case would go cold very quickly with no Witnesses and very little evidence that could be used in 1987 and all the leads soon dried up but in 1988 another attack similar to Joyce’s reopen the case another woman in her 60s had been attacked but but in her case her attacker was found quickly and denied having any involvement with Joyce’s case even though there were several similarities the case would again turn cold and it would stay that way for decades it was reopened in 2005 when they took another look at the evidence that had been preserved in 1987 however at that time nothing new came up but in 2017 two detectives were assigned permanently to the case and scientific advancements had caught up with DNA analysis they sent a DNA sample believed to have been from the suspect to parbon nanolabs they were able to create a computer generated profile of the potential suspect they would release that they believed the suspect was Latin American possibly from Puerto Rico or Columbia the data from the genetic markers would reveal that he had brown or hazel eyes brown or black hair and that he didn’t have freckles in 2017 they would admit that some of this like the hair may have changed in the 30 years since the murder but that they had hoped someone would recognize the composite created by their program in 2019 a new detective would start to work the case this time working with identif finders International in the hopes of using genetic genealogy to help find a suspect this analysis would take until 2023 to reveal the suspect and it was in July 2023 when the Boise Police Department announced they had found a suspect in the 36-year-old Cold Case Frank a Rodriguez unfortunately no rest could be made as Rodriguez had died in 2007 by Suicide authorities met with his family taking DNA swabs which were analyzed and proved through genetics that Rodriguez was the suspect even though he had passed both the retired Boise detectives that had worked the case and the Casper family were relieved to have some answers about what had happened to Joyce after all this time Rodriguez had a history of violent outbursts mental health issues and substance abuse but he didn’t have a criminal record at the time of Joyce’s murder he would have only been 17 years old and he lived only blocks away from the store he spent the rest of his life living in the area and is being investigated in connection to other cold cases in Idaho Rodriguez’s physical description at the time also matched report Joyce gave from the attempted assault that had taken place at her store two weeks prior to her murder police have asked if anyone knows anything about Frank a Rodriguez to contact the Boise Police as they believe this is probably not his only crime Claudia MOS was born on May 25th 1956 in the seaside town of Mazatlan in the state of caloa the town is popular with tourists and sits on Mexico’s Pacific Coast she was the youngest of seven children for girls and three boys her mother Maria dearman arzac was said to be a dominant author authoritarian and aggressive woman who was extremely religious her father Antonio mishos was apparently a sensitive man dedicated to his work and with a weak character who never stood up to his wife during her childhood Claudia was a socially friendly girl Popular amongst her friends but not very academic she went on to study a career in Commerce there was a belief that when she was still a teenager Claudia won a local beauty contest however this can neither be confirmed nor denied sadly though her parents died when she was still relatively young and when she was who was 8 years her senior and 2 years later they married and went to live in quaro now quaro is a very beautiful city with a historic Center that encompasses magnificent Colonial building squares fountains and churches as well as 74 arched aqueducts that were built in the early 1700s the city is situated about 200 kilm Northeast of Mexico City and has one of the lowest crime rates in the country which makes it popular with foreign companies looking to invest in Mexico in the 1980s for Claudia and Alfredo relocating from the seaside town of Mazatlan to one of the country’s major cities was an exciting prospect this city was rapidly growing as it became a very popular place to live especially when many people look to relocate from the nation’s capital after the devastating earthquake of 198 85 the marriage between Claudia and Alfredo produced three children Claudia Maria Anna balen and Alfredo Antonio the three children attended the frey Luis De Leon school where Claudia had obtained work as a teacher of catechism ethics and religion in the late 1980s Claudia and her husband began to have marital problems they decided that the best way to work through these would be to attend marriage counseling unfortunately this wasn’t successful and Claudia began to show strong psychological problems she would experience hallucinations of demons and angels and she became obsessed with Father Ramon another teacher at the frey Louise de Leon school it soon became obvious that the marriage was unsustainable and the couple separated in early 1989 Claudia started hearing strange voices and experiencing psychotic attacks she did not want to tell her ex-husband because he had always said that she was crazy on April 3rd 1989 Alfredo castanos collected his children from school he took them back to Claudia’s house and Alfredo still loved his wife and was anxious to reconcile with her but he had heard rumors that she was having a relationship with Father Ramon and when he questioned her about it they had a terrible argument which ended with Claudia shouting at Alfredo that he would be sorry and slamming the door Alfredo left and later that evening she put the children to bed blessed them and then eventually went to sleep herself a few hours later on April 24th 1989 at approximately 5:00 a.m. Claudia suddenly woke up as she was hearing loud voices these voices were telling her that her hometown of Mazatlan had disappeared and that all Karo was just a spirit she listened for a while trying to decide if they were real or not then she got up got dressed and the voices were still loud in her mind Claudia called her friend Veron Vasquez who tried to calm her down Veronica promised to come in the morning to help her and she told Claudia to go back to bed to get some rest and Claudia did not heed her friend’s advice instead Claudia went to the kitchen and retrieved three knives her children were sleeping peacefully upstairs and she walked upstairs into the bedroom of Alfredo her youngest child of only six years old leaning on the child’s bed she grabbed his left hand and started to slash it she did this in such a frenzy that she completely amputated it the child was screaming in pain and Terror his mother then attempted to cut off his right hand and she almost succeeded but she gave him a series of slashes to the body which killed him little Alfredo Antonio was dead but her mother continued the attack Claudia then changed the knife she had decided to use a different one with each child awakened by the noise Alfredo’s eldest sister 11-year-old Claudia Maria claimed to the room and begged her mother to stop but she didn’t she stabbed her daughter six times the Fatal blow being the one that punctured her lungs the little girl still managed to leave the room trying to protect herself she said no Mom no don’t she shouted and the screams of pain and despair was so loud that the neighbors woke up but despite all the noise they decided not to intervene Claudia then took the third knife and stabbed her youngest daughter of n Anna Bain in the heart the little girl did not put up much resistance Claudia then ran down the stairs in search of her oldest daughter who was barely alive and had managed to go downstairs she had fainted and was lying face up she had fainted and was lying face up on the floor that divided the living room and the dining room Claudia stabbed her again and Claudia then dragged her daughter’s lifeless body upstairs and placed her in the main bedroom she then got the bodies of little Alfredo and his sister Annabelle and placed them together on her king-size bed so that all three children were together she covered them with an orange with a white trim and she cleaned off the two knives and took the third and then tried to cut her wrists and chest trying to kill herself the next morning Veronica vquez Claudia’s friend arrived as promised she knocked at the door and eventually clouded opened it with her clothes soaked in blood Veronica first thought that her friend had had been attacked so entered the house she went upstairs and saw the three children laying dead in the bed Veronica ran out the house and immediately called the police Claudia went back upstairs and lay with her three children arrest and trial when the police arrived they reported that the interior of the house looked like the setting for a horror movie the floor of the living room and the stairs leading to the Upper Floor were stained with blood as was the corridor between the master bedroom and the bedroom of little alfredo the girl’s bedroom and the bathroom on the side of the children was Claudia her clothes were also stained with blood as was the corridor between the master bedroom the bedroom of little Alfredo the girl’s bedroom and the bathroom on one side of the children was Claudia her clothes were also stained with blood her eyes were half open the policeman thought that she was also dead but the commander adalo Duran looked for the pulse in the neck and discovered that she was still alive they called the Red Cross and was transferred to the nearby Social Security Hospital in the corner of the bedroom on an armchair there were two kitchen knives one of 41 cm and the other of 33 both with brown of 31 CM was found in the bedroom of the sisters Claudia Maria and Anna balen on the carpet and full of blood Claudia woke up in hospital where she was questioned by an agent from the public prosecutor’s office Claudia said that her children were asleep in the house house and that she loved her children very much and that they’re very good children and they’re not naughty Claudia was sedated and handcuffed while in hospital her first statement was taken on April 27th 1989 at 11:30 a.m. 3 days after she had massacred her children she blamed the priest who she supposedly loved father Ramon she said that father Ramon spoke to her telepathically and that he continued to work mentally and that her husband also tried getting back with her and work through her mentally and the pressure was so great that she lost control afterwards she changed her statement and said that she did not remember anything only that her friend Veronica had knocked on her door and woken her she spoke as if her children were alive the newspapers condemned her crime and called her the hyena of kataro made sure she was examined by psychiatrists and neurologists the doctor’s report was a psychiatric mental Medical and physical evaluation of Claudia which resulted in the conclusion that she was suffering from schito effective disorder which is a medical disorder characterized by abnormal thought processes and deregulated emotions she was also diagnosed to have temporal lobe epilepsy which is a chronic disorder of the nervous system characterized by recurrent unprovoked focal seizures that originate in the temporal lobe of the brain and last about a minute or two after the medical and psychiatric results were released it was decided that or ordinary criminal procedures should be suspended it was agreed by the legal teams that Claudia should receive a 30-year sentence for the Triple filicide Claudia was incarcerated on September 19th 1991 in the psychiatric Annex of the depop on women’s center for social readaptation which is a Maximum Security Prison 16 mi from the city of is located on Henda vigil Street in the jardin’s de la hasienda neighborhood of queretaro and has been uninhabited since April 24th 198 9 it is now severely vandalized and in a very bad State people often go to the house just to look at it and it has now become a morbid tourist attraction for the city and has led the residents to complain and asked the authorities to build a barbed wire fence to close any access to the interior of the house the house has apparently been sold on several occasions but so far no one has actually moved in the case has never stopped generating public curiosity Carlos claimed that when his team of investigators went to make a video in the house they saw a girl in the kitchen with bloody pajamas the book evidences of life after death states that the child of a neighbor was playing outside when his ball was kicked into the house when he went to pick it up he saw the same ghostly image there were also videos where movements are recorded without any apparent reason in that house and people say that a very heavy vibration is felt when they enter the house and the photographs show Shadows which look like children however many questions still remain to this tragic story now almost 30 years from when the terrible event happened Claudia is about to complete her sentence and will be released in June 2019 will Claudia be ready to integrate back into society the same society that will not forget her crime and That Shook and still affects the lives of the Mexicans it was on May 3rd 1975 when a farmer was checking the back end of his property near the nation River about 40 km east of Ottawa Canada he noticed something floating in the river and there he found a woman’s body face down in the water before doing anything he called the police the Ottawa Police Department arrived and discovered a woman’s bloated naked body with a cloth covering her face she had a dark blue leotard top bunched up around her neck her hands had been bound in front of her with a blue necktie with Canadian flags and her ankles had also been bound with two additional men’s ties the cloth around her head was described as two pieces of a bloody green fabric a disposable hand towel and a distinctive Irish linen tea towel Loosely wrapped around her neck was a television cable and a piece of a curtain rod Runner could be found in her armpit the autopsy would put her age between 25 and 35 she had shoulder length dyed red hair that was believed to have been Brown down naturally with hazel or blue eyes believed to be about 100 lb and she was 5’5 tall both her fingers and toenails were painted red she had a highquality partial dentures with multiple fillings having police believe that she was of a middle class background they stated that it appeared she’d never had children and she’d had her appendix removed she’d also eaten a large meal right before her death her larynx had been fractured and her case was ruled a homicide due to the nature of the body’s decomposition that couldn’t determine if she’d been sexually assaulted her body was believed to have been in the river for about 1 to 4 weeks putting her time of death between April 5th and April 26th police believed she’d been dumped in the river from a nearby bridge when they investigated they found Blood on the bridge it wasn’t enough to get a blood type at that time but they assumed it was from The woman there had been Heavy Rain on April 19th so that led authorities to believe she’d been dumped between the 19th and the 26th all of this information and police had one key piece missing they couldn’t identify the woman they combed hundreds of missing person’s reports they contacted dentists locally as the Jane do had a custom denture made for her and several fillings their forensic Dental imprints were published in Dental journals in North America and overseas no one recognized them law enforcement knocked on doors in a 25 km radius of the bridge they tracked down where the TV cable had been sold and checked hotels and motels where it might have been installed but nothing the necktie that had bound her had been made in Montreal and sold all over Ontario and Quebec the tea towel from Ireland was imported by a Toronto company and sold in mass quantities until 1972 nothing seemed to spark any leads without knowing who the woman was the police had very little to go on was she from Canada was she a visitor had she recently moved here had she come from Montreal or was just dumped near Ottawa which at the time was a technique often used by criminals to confused detectives she would be dubbed the nation River lady and she’d stay in a Toronto morg until 1987 12 years after the discovery she was eventually buried in Toronto Mount Pleasant Cemetery news of her burial would bring in some fresh tips but would lead to dead ends the nation River lady would be in the news every few years with new sketches and advancements but still they couldn’t identify the woman it wasn’t until 2023 when Canadian officials would announce that they not only had identified the nation River lady but had a suspect in custody the nation River lady was identified as juel Parchman was 48 when she died and had traveled from her hometown in Tennessee and moved to Montreal in April 1975 she was a successful businesswoman who owned a spa with her ex-husband and she’d been well missed by her family who’ reported her missing shortly after not hearing from her in 1975 her parents and siblings had all passed by the time she was identified but she still had some nieces who helped identify her after all these years juwel was identified after her body was exuded in 2019 for a new DNA profile which the Canadian authorities shared with us-based DNA doe project using genetic genealogy they could upload the results into the database shared with the police quickly they found a match and had new samples taken from living relatives which Canadian Labs confirmed they’d been able to make the announcement privately with the family in 2020 that they had identified juwel this was kept out of the press in the hopes of finding more information about her killer the suspect was also identified via genetic genealogy Florida native Rodney Nichols is now 81 years old and was living in Montreal and worked as a professional rugby player at the time of the murder it would come out that Nichols had been dating juwel at the time it is being reported that once he was arrested he confessed to the murder but this is now being called into questioned by his lawyer in the confession he said that he killed her because she had lied about her age being 48 when he was only 32 Nichols had previously been investigated in connection to her disappearance but he claimed to have lied to law enforcement when Jewel had been reported missing saying he had heard from her and she was well and in Vancouver Nicholls is not being investigated for any any other cold cases at this time the Ottawa government is now working on extraditing nichels to Canada hoping he will face charges in Ottawa this case is still ongoing and Nicholls has not been convicted at this time juwes family is glad to have answers and in 2022 they had a small ceremony after her body had been sent back to Tennessee where her grave marker was changed from missing to finally home and at peace Pauline Parker was born on the 26th of May 1938 and was a second daughter of a Christ Church couple at the age of five she was hospitalized with a crippling bone marrow infection though she survived the painful treatments she suffered terrible leg pain throughout her youth this prevented her from participating in physical activities so she developed an interest in art writing and sculpting Pauline and her elder sister Wendy spent some time attending the East Belt Methodist Church and often went on Church organized outings and holidays Juliet Marian Hume was born on the 28th of October 1938 in the London suburb of black Heath England and was the daughter of physicist Dr Henry Reign forume when she was a child she suffered from tuberculosis and spent much time in hospital she was sent to live in South Africa and the Caribbean in the hope that the warmer climates would be beneficial to her health when Juliet was 13 her father Henry was appointed Rector at the University of Canterbury and the family moved to Christ Church New Zealand Pauline and Juliet met when they both attended the Christ Church girls high school and they soon became Inseparable they both had wonderful imaginations and together created a fantasy world they would spend many hours thinking up stories and in these stories they would become rich and famous actresses in America and renamed themselves Gina and Deborah both families were initially pleased with the friendship but as the girls grew more and more Inseparable the parents of Pauline and Juliet soon grew concerned during their friendship the girls invented their own personal religion with its own ideas on morality they rejected Christianity and worshiped their own Saints inventing a parallel Dimension called the fourth world essentially their version of Heaven the fourth world was a place that they felt they were already able to enter during moments of spiritual enlightenment their plan was to eventually flee to Hollywood when Juliet was once again in hospital the families were relieved that for a Time the girls would have to spend some time apart when Juliet came out of Hospital their friendship resumed with the same intensity Pauline’s parents became very concerned at their daughter’s dependence on Juliet so took her to see a psychiatrist Juliet’s parents also had concerns about the girl’s relationship and discussed the situation with medical friends but they revised that it would be unwise to have her psychoanalyzed at such an early age age in 1954 it was discovered that Juliet’s mother was having an affair with their lodger Walter Perry her father then resigned his position at the University College to return to England where his outstanding scientific Talent was required in the British Atomic research team her parents then thought it best that Juliet should be sent to live with relatives in South Africa as due to her illness her lungs weren’t considered strong enough to withstand an English winter Pauline and Juliet were distraught by the decision and decided that it would be best if Pauline accompanied Juliet to South Africa unsurprisingly both sets of parents flatly refused this suggestion the girls then formed the plan to murder Pauline’s mother and leave New Zealand for the United States where they believed they would publish their writing and work in film Pauline’s mother was called Anora Mary Parker and when she told her daughter that she could not go to another country to live with her friend Pauline did not take this lightly and her and Julie ulet planned Pauline’s mother’s murder they planned it with all the enthusiasm and excitement which two high school girls might display in arranging the details of a school dance at 3 p.m. on June 22nd 1954 Pauline’s mother Anora accompanied Pauline and Juliet to Victoria Park on the outskirts of Christ Church they first stopped for Refreshments at a kiosk and then they walked down the track with Juliet walking in front Juliet’s hand was in her pocket as she clutched part of the plot which was a collection of brightly colored Pebbles picked up on the roadside during the preceding few days when she had rounded the bend in the track and went out of sight of The Parkers she scattered the Pebbles Pauline Parker walked by her mother’s side and also had her hand in her coat pocket clutching half a brick which Juliet had bought from her home earlier that day Pauline had slipped the piece of brick into a foot of an old stocking Juliet was about 60 yards in front and out of sight down the the track when Anora caught sight of a pink Pebble and Pauline remarked how pretty it was Anora bent down to pick it up behind her her daughter pulled out the brick Laden stocking from her pocket and smashed it into her mother’s head the brick crashed on her mother’s skull and she collapsed Pauline struck her mother again and again blood was spurting from the many wounds in Anora Parker’s face and head sobbing hysterically the girls looked at each other and at their victim the blood was only trickling now they had beaten Anora Parker to death a short while later the two girls ran back to the kiosk covered in blood and screaming for help Pauline explained that her mother had tripped on a plank of wood and hit her head when she landed she kept falling and her head kept banging and bumping as she fell the kiosk manager and her husband told the girls to go to the sink and wash the blood off themselves they then ran down the track and under a Tall Pine Tree lying on a bed of pine needles was The Battered body of Anora Mary Parker they hurried back to the kiosk and telephoned the police and the ambulance the police took the girls away and the ambulance took the body away a postmortem revealed that the victim’s skull had been smashed there are about 45 injuries mainly on the head and face it had been a ferocious attack a bloodstained brick lay beside her head and on a nearby grassy Bank lay a stocking with a knot tied at the ankle they photographed the scene and searched for further Evidence at 8:00 p.m. two detectives went to interview the two girls both girls stuck to the story that Mrs Parker had fallen and hit her head it quickly became apparent that Mrs Parker had not died from a fault and within a day the girls had been arrested for murder 3 weeks later a magistrate committed Pauline ion Parker and Juliet Marian Hume for trial on a charge of having murdered Anora Mary Parker the trial was one of the most captivating events in the history of Christ Church the main focus of the trial was the girl state of mind and Pauline’s diary entries the entries were said by defense lawyers point to insanity but senior Crown counsel argued the entries show The Killing to be a callously planned and premeditated murder committed by two highly intelligent girls two nights before the killing Pauline Parker wrote in her diary we discussed our plans for murdering mother and made them a little clearer peculiarly enough I have no qualms of conscience or is it peculiar we are so mad on the eve of the Murder She Wrote we decided to use a brick in the stocking rather than a sandbag we discussed the murder fully I feel very keyed up as if I was planning a surprise party so the next time I write in the diary mother will be dead how odd yet how pleasing the girls showed little emotion as the unpleasant evidence unfolded before them in the packed courtroom they looked uncomfortable when anything was said which Disturbed their vanity often they would bow their head while sexual matters were discussed on the sixth day of the trial Council for both girls and the crown addressed the court the judge summed up the case the jury was whether the girls knew what they were doing was wrong according to the defense they were problem children who at the time they committed the ACT were ill and not criminally responsible for their actions according to the prosecution they were too highly intelligent and perfectly sane girls Mr Justice Adams told the jury that the burden of proof of insanity rested on the defense he said if the jury found the defendants to be insane their Duty was to return a verdict of not guilty he added the jury’s choice is guilty or not guilty on the grounds of insanity the jury took just 2 hours and 15 minutes to reach its verdict of guilty Pauline and Juliet were too young to hang Mr Justice Adams jailed the pair at Her Majesty’s pleasure an indefinite term of detention they were sent to Mount Eden prison but were kept apart neither was given psychiatric treatment the prison authorities apparently pointed to the jury’s verdict that the pair were not insane so ended New Zealand’s most Sensational and most tragic murder of 1954 some say the most tragic of the 20th century it was a premeditated carefully planned crime by two girls who lived in a world of their own both girls served five and a half years in prison after her releasee from prison Juliet spent time in the United States later settling in England and becoming a successful historical detective novelist under the name and Perry following her release from prison Pauline spent time in New Zealand under surveillance before being allowed to leave for England as an adult she became a Roman Catholic and expressed strong remorse for having killed her mother in 1994 Peter Jackson directed a movie named Heavenly creature based on this case before we proceed I’ve got an exciting surprise for you we’ve launched a brand new channel dedicated to intriguing content such as old historical mysteries cold cases and particularly chilling horror stories perfect for bedtime drop a comment letting us know if you’re a fan of horror stories or not you can find the link in the description below let’s find out who will be the first to explore it all right let’s dive back into the video it was on April 20th 19 1978 when a woman named Cornelia humri was murdered in Germany when she was 18 she was found the day after the murder with her body dumped on the roadside with 14 stab wounds in her neck and back Witnesses came forward early on in the investigation saying that they saw a small car with a green license plate in the area the American Military stationed in Germany often used the green license plate it was discovered that Cornelia had been having an extramarital affair with a man named Tommy m he was 24 at the time he was stationed in Germany with his first wife and he owned a Fiat 124 which matched the description of the car scene leaving cornelia’s body he was interviewed 5 days after Cornelia was discovered but he said he’d been home with his wife that day however she couldn’t remember the German authorities and the American Military didn’t have much he was not charged at that time he would be interviewed again but not until 1996 after his now third wife reported to military officials that while intoxicated in ’95 he confessed multiple times to her that he had killed a woman in Germany with a knife he told her he was having an affair and that she had gotten pregnant and had threatened to tell his wife again he was questioned in 1996 and he strongly denied any involvement and the investigation moved slowly again after that but later with advancements in DNA technology the investigators reopened the case in 2019 the German government requested a new blood sample taken from cornelia’s body Federal warrant was issued and in 20120 they collected fresh DNA and in 2021 they confirmed the match of DNA that was collected off Cornelia clothing to Tommy Molina Tommy Molina is now 69 years old he was arrested on June 21st 2023 and charged with the murder of Cornelia humpher he is currently awaiting extradition to Germany where he could face 15 years in prison if convicted we do not know the actual date of birth or birth name of alen zatova as this was the name given to her in the mid1 1980s by communist authorities as part of the so-called Revival process in Bulgaria this is where the Bulgarian government forced the Turkish minority to adopt Slavic names instead of their Turkish birth names Turkish people have lived in Bulgaria for centuries but in 1984 the Bulgarian communist regime decided the Bulgarian Turks should be part of a name-changing operation they instigated this between December the 24th 1984 and January the 14th 1985 when the names of 310,000 people in Bulgaria were changed the operation was marked by violent protests there was talk that people had been killed during the protests and thousands were arrested about 1,000 of whom were locked up in prison camps as the Bulgarian Communist Regime launched itself into this political Adventure the world around them had started transforming at a very fast pace Alina was a midwife and lived with her husband two sons and her brother in an apartment in the town of cardali which is 260 km or about 162 miles Southeast of the country’s capital Sophia the town is not too far from both the Greek and Turkish borders and had a population of about 60,000 with the majority being Turkish Alina’s husband was called Martin’s laav and he worked as a doctor in the hospital in carali his name too was changed as part of the Revival process her father was a one-time Member of Parliament and her family were very well respected in the city her marriage to Dr Martin laav was not a good or happy one he did no housework and she was expected to cook clean and bring up the children and also work while her husband and brother did nothing to assist her she was not permitted to leave their apartment except to go to work or go to the nearest shop and was denied contact with other members of her family January 19th 1986 in Bulgaria was midwives day being a midwife Alina was hoping to be taken out by her husband to one of the many social functions celebrating the day she put on nice clothes and makeup and waited in the apartment but her husband did not come home and when he did eventually turn up it was very late and he didn’t even acknowledge her disappointed Alina went to bed she was in a Loveless marriage and felt that she was nothing more than a servant Alina woke up the next morning Monday January 20th 1986 feeling extremely low she prepared her husband breakfast before he went off to work we can speculate that she was depressed with her situation an educated woman who had lost her identity with two young children and living in an apartment in a country that had frequent power Cuts what happened next however was according to Witnesses unexpected and out of character Alina took the 20 L can of diesel fuel which she had to hand as it was essential to have fuel to operate the generator due to the frequent power Cuts in the area she poured the fuel all over the apartment she then got a box of matches and set the apartment on fire her 10-month-old son Ellen was asleep in his crib and when the Flames took hold he died of smoke inhalation her eldest son Nevan who was four tried to escape the Flames but alinaa stopped him from leaving the apartment and stabbed him with a kitchen knife he like his brother died Alina had decided that she would also die in the fire but as the Flames took hold for some reason she abandoned her suicide attempt and escaped the burning building the fire service arrived a few minutes later and saved the building from completely burning down and the Bulgarian police took Alina to the police station to be questioned she told them that she was cleaning the apartment when an unknown man in a blue boiler suit had broken in and set fire to it did not seem very real to the police and when they examined the apartment once the fire had been put out they discovered the two deceased children both children were sent for an autopsy and it was soon revealed that the older child had been stabbed the police spoke to Alina about their findings and when confronted with the evidence she broke down and made a full confession she was arrested and charged with murder her lawyer defense strategy was to plead guilty under the grounds of insanity Alina was psychologically examined and it was a shock to many when the Bulgarian authorities assessed she was found to have been fully aware of her actions and fit to stand trial the trial would only ever have one outcome as she was declared sane and admitted killing her children so from the very start she seemed resigned to her fate before she left court she said I could not have ever been a mother I do not deserve to live but if you let me I will try to atone for my guilt when the verdict was announced Alina was found guilty of murder and the judge sentenced her to death in Bulgaria in the late 1980s it was very unusual for a woman to get the death penalty the commuting of a sentence was always decided by the state Council they routinely commuted female Death sentences especially after 1978 when life in prison was also made part of the Bulgarian Penal Code everyone including her lawyer presumed that the sentence would be changed to life in prison but for some reason in this case there was no intervention in the sentencing why there was no intervention can only come down to speculation Alina’s case was not in any way political but its notoriety amongst the 50,000 Turks in carali could have made the authorities think she should be made an example of she had murdered her two young children which is a terrible crime yet in the 1980s other similar murders in Bulgaria did not result in execution some people have suggested that upholding the death sentence given to Alina would mean the Communist Bulgarian state would send a clear message to the Turkish population designed to drive out those who resisted the Revival process the only female prison was in slen so this is where Alina was taken this meant that any arrangements for the execution were left at the discretion of the prison director his deputies and the District prosecutor at 1: or 2 in the morning on March the 8th Alina was taken from her cell put in a van and driven to a pre-dug pit on the grounds of a local Cemetery she probably was made to stand on the edge of the pit then a volunteer from the prison guards shot her once in the back of the head in communist Bulgaria murders and executions did not happen at least according to the official press so there are no further details of this execution ironically the the execution fell on March 8th which is international women’s day and in Bulgaria March the e8th is Mother’s Day a semi-official and universally celebrated holiday in the country Alina was executed about the same time her husband moved back to the apartment where his children were murdered he moved back with his mistress they eventually married and immigrated to Turkey where they apparently lived to this day from May to August 1989 the Turkish Bulgarian borders were temporarily open and 40% of Bulgarian Turks about 360,000 left their homes and sought refuge in Turkey this was called the Grand Excursion quite a lot of these people did not leave willingly but their hands were forced through forced evictions from state-owned property seizure of property and various other suppressive methods late that year the Berlin Wall fell and in 1990 the Communist era ended in Bulgaria Bulgaria no longer had the death penalty ending it in December 199 8 on the 1st of January 2007 Bulgaria joined the European Union Alina latova is officially the last female to be executed in Bulgaria it was on April 16th 1991 at approximately 3:00 a.m. when Toronto police officers responded to a 911 call at 149 dundis Street East just west of Jarvis Street in Toronto Canada officers would find a man suffering from mult multiple stab wounds the victim soon died at the scene he would later be identified as Herbert Boon a 43-year-old Toronto resident originally from newf Finland Herbert didn’t live in the apartment he was found was known to be a short-term or low rent apartment police would find evidence that the killer had washed out the blood in the bathroom and the killer had thrown his blood soaked clothes in a nearby dumpster his murder case would quickly go cold Toronto police couldn’t connect anyone to the crime however in June 2023 Toronto police announced that they had positively identified the killer they identified Kevin Welsh who they stated they’d used DNA testing on preserved evidence to determine the Toronto residence was the killer Walsh was 46 years old at the time of the killing and it’s not known what sparked the altercation fortunately Kevin Walsh died in 2007 authorities said that if he were alive today he could be charged with one account of second-degree murder police have not released what DNA technology was used to identify Walsh but they did release that it was Walsh who was staying in the apartment where Boon had been found in 1991 however authorities are still asking anyone with information about the murder it was on March 3rd 2022 around 900 p.m. When Corey richens and her husband Eric richens were celebrating her buying a new home for her real estate business business during the celebration around 11:00 p.m. Cory made her husband a night cap his favorite a Moscow Mule the drink is vodka based with big hits of mint and lime and topped with ginger beer that’s going to be important later she brought the drink to their bedroom where he started drinking it in bed the couple had been working on their marriage after having a bit of a rough patch Cory had told friends that things had been getting better Eric and Corey had three sons they shared a home in Kimu Utah Kimu gives residents the feel of rural living with large Estates it’s approximately 40 m east of Salt Lake City the family had the ability to live a luxurious lifestyle never wanting for anything with a large home and all the extras that they could possibly want after giving Eric the drink Corey claimed that she’d went to bed shortly after but before she fell asleep one of her sons woke her up after having a nightmare she claimed that she stayed in his room to soothe him back to sleep and also fell asleep there she stated that she woke in the middle of the night around 3:00 a.m. before returning to her bed there she found her husband slumped on the floor at the end of the bed she touched his foot and found it cold to the touch she claimed that she got her phone that she had left plugged in on her side of the bed and called 911 she then started to perform CPR First Responders arrived attempting to revive Eric but he was pronounced dead at the scene this is the story that Corey richens told police when they interviewed her the autopsy would show a different story when the toxicology report came back it revealed that Eric richens died from a fentanyl overdose that was five times a lethal dose medical examiner report that the fenel had been orally ingested which was noted as unusual law enforcement interviewed Corey in the interview the detective would inform Corey about the fenel overdose in the interview Cory was at that her husband didn’t do drugs the detective conducting the interview would also say that they were starting to look at how the drug got into his system and that they would need to search the house for All Electronics during the interview they also seized Corey’s cell phone which she had just brought here are some Snippets of the transcription from that interview Corey richens he doesn’t do drugs detective Woody we’re going to go check the house we want to make sure there’s nothing there because this is super dangerous it’s dangerous for you it’s dangerous for your kids later in the interview detective Woody it’s kind of odd that there was nothing there that we saw you know I don’t know if you were trying to clean it up so he wouldn’t get in trouble or this didn’t get out so we also have warrants for All Electronics so that in case you ordered anything on the phone if you tried to keep us Cory richens is it cut crack like it’s detective Woody it’s fenel that it’s a pretty deadly drug it’s something that’s not it’s becoming more common then the interview ends with them leaving with Corey to go search the house police would start to investigate the death as suspicious possibly a homicide not every overdose would be suspicious But Eric was not known to have a drug problem and everyone who knew Eric knew that he loved his family very much and he had every intention to stay a part of that family the family home was searched and the electronics including Cory’s phone were taken into evidence but who is Eric richens Eric was born on May 13th 1982 he was 39 when he died he reportedly was an excellent Outdoorsman hunting and worked on his family cattle farm he was the oldest with two younger sisters when he was younger he worked and learned about working on the ranch tending to cattle and horses hauling hay and feeding the animals but he also had a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in international studies with a minor in Spanish he learned Spanish during a 2-year Mission with his church to Mexico he owned a successful high-end m business specializing in high-end projects he owned the company with his friend Cody Wright Corey and Eric met while Corey worked at Home Depot as a front counterperson they got married in 2013 in a backyard wedding at the home they shared and welcomed Three Sons age 10 9 and six today Eric was a coach or assistant coach on all of his sons sports teams he was known to be very involved and dedicated to the teams that he worked with Cory was Eric’s second wife he’d been previously married to Julie Jorgenson whom he married in 2005 there’s not much information about this marriage but they divorced in 2009 and Julie passed away in 2011 Eric and Corey signed a pretty tight prenup agreement which stated that Corey wouldn’t get any of Eric’s Assets in the event of divorce she would only inherit his estate in the event of his death from the outside it appeared that they had a great marriage and a success ful life to the outside world they had a massive home worth $1.1 million and everything they could want or need in 2019 Corey started her company K Rich and’s realy LLC where she was a real estate agent and according to her company she would buy and flip homes future findings would show that she was constantly losing money with this Venture Financial records would begin to paint a picture of just how unsuccessful Corey was with money after ‘s death it would come out that Eric had talked to his family about wanting a divorce but he planned to stay in the marriage for the kids some reports said that Corey had stated that Eric was having an affair and that she had moved out some of his clothes but that they had gone to counseling and things had been well before his death however the media and court documents began to paint a different story it showed that in September 2020 Eric discovered that his wife had racked up a substantial amount of debt with her business and that she had been stealing from him to pay for it she had stolen excess of $200,000 and charged more than $30,000 to his private credit cards he also discovered that she had fraudulently borrowed $250,000 using a forged power of the fraudulent power of attorney had been dated and signed in 2013 but not notorized until 2018 she had also taken money that had been set aside to pay his business taxes the amount that Cory stole seemed to be never ending but ultimately she promised to repay the stolen money back from the accounts in November 2020 Eric had also decided to put the house and all of his assets into a living trust that his sister Katie rich and Benson is the trustee for and she was also made the representative for the estate of Eric richens It is believed that Eric did this because he felt he could no longer trust his wife Eric and his business partner had life insurance policies out in each other’s names which is standard practice just so that the other can buy out the estate of the other partner if anything were to happen it was discovered that in January 2022 Corey changed the beneficiary to herself on Eric’s policy it was something that he discovered and quickly changed it back shortly after this incident on Valentine’s Day Eric got violently sick from eating and would Express fears to a friend that he thought his wife might be to blame it is also believed that Corey had two life insurance policies taken out in Eric’s name without his knowledge one from 2014 and one from January 2022 the policies where Corey was the sole beneficiary she had all the information sent to a po. box that Eric nor his estate knew about after his death she filed death claims on both of these policies and received $1.5 million directly benefiting from the death of her husband after Eric’s death Corey would go on living her life some would think extravagantly she took her kids on trips and kept living life as usual but with more money in the bank almost a year to the day of Eric’s death on March 7th 2023 Cory published a book called are you with me it was a children’s book about a boy who had lost his father and could feel his presence afterward covers topics on feeling if someone is with you after they die a few weeks after the book’s release she was on a local Morning News show in Salt Lake City to promote the book she had seemed cold and disconnected but she credits her son in helping her write the book with her she said that it was written to to help them understand that her husband is with them even if he wasn’t there she wrote it as a comfort to her sons and others experiencing the loss of a loved one she dedicated the book to her husband saying quote to my amazing husband and wonderful father the book is no longer available on Amazon on May 8th 2023 Corey was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute the following is the prosecution and a state of of Eric richens belief of the events that led to his death and after on May 2nd 2023 the police interviewed a woman only disclosed as C at this time her full name is being held for privacy she’s a known acquaintance of Corey richens who had previously cleaned her house and some of the properties Corey was flipping Cel is also known to have pass charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute she’s not been charged with anything at this time time between December 2021 and February 2022 Cory reached out repeatedly to C once was asking if she could get pain meds for an investor with back pain Cel contacted an acquaintance known as acquaintance one who got in contact with a dealer known as acquaintance too and was able to procure Hydrocodone pills for Corey which Corey paid for by leaving money for C at a house that she owned at the time 2 weeks later Cory asked Cel to get something more potent like quote that Michael Jackson stuff she then asked for fenel Cel then contacted the dealer again on February 11th 2022 and got 15 to 30 pills that Cory paid $900 for she picked them up at C’s house there are two reports of what happened on Valentine’s Day 2022 in one document Eric ate a sandwich that Cory had left on the seat of his truck with a love note after eating it Eric immediately got hives and had difficulty breathing the other account which is the arrest warrant said that Corey and Eric were having dinner at their home when Eric got very ill after dinner and believed that he’d been poisoned in both of these options it was reported that Eric contacted a friend and said he believed poison him there is no evidence that Eric acted against his wife on this belief almost 2 weeks after Valentine’s Day on February 26th 2022 Cory contacted C again asking for another $900 of fenel which C procured and left in a fire pit at another house connected to Corey 6 days later Eric richen died of a fenel overdose another piece of evidence was that on the night that Eric died Corey had stated that she left her phone in the bedroom when she went to sleep with her son however the data on her phone showed that it was opened and moved multiple times between 10:30 p.m. and 3:20 a.m. including at 3:8 p.m. when the phone was moved more than 250 ft an expert at Cory’s baale hearing stated that it could have been a device connected to the phone that caused the pings for example a smartwatch there was also evidence that Corey had messaged someone several times during the time she was supposed to be sleeping those text messages had been deleted and never recovered it is also stated that the person who received the messages had also deleted them that person’s name has been kept out of the media and court records Corey also said in her original statement that she had performed CPR on on her husband still when EMS arrived and started to perform CPR Eric began to foam at the mouth which was an indicator that no one had tried to perform CPR previously Corey later texted her best friend saying quote I pumped so damn hard so hard screaming at him to come back to life after Cory’s first phone was taken into evidence she got a new phone which was later taken into evidence this phone had some disturbing web searches in its history which included can you delete everything in an iCloud account can you delete text messages to be retrieved from an iPhone can cops uncover deleted messages iPhone how to permanently delete information from an iPhone remotely can cops force you to do a lie detector test what are you allowed inside Utah jails will life insurance pay if death certificate says pending luxury prisons for the rich in America if someone is poisoned what does it go down on a death certificate as FBI analysis of electronics in an investigation can FBI find deleted messages what does FBI do with electronics for searches can the cause of death be changed on a death certificate what is considered a lethal dose of fentanyl before being arrested investigators had asked Corey if she’d taken any vacations she responded in an email quote you asked about any exotic vacations I have taken since Eric passing I went on two trips last year one my kids tried out for a soccer camp in Salt Lake City to qualify to play in Spain in June and both my kids made it so yes I took them to Spain in October 2022 I’ve attached their invitation letters another message read quote I took my kids and my mom came with us in August of 2022 to Mexico as I hope you understand the months prior to this since Eric’s death have been hard to deal with she also went on to talk about about how she and Eric went to Mexico every year and that they hadn’t gone this year because Eric went on a hunting trip in January instead on June 12th 2023 Corey richens had her bail hearing she kept seeing a white blouse and dress pants and handcuffed in the courtroom she had been wiping her eyes with no visible tears and seemed sad while evidence was given and she was held without bail and awaiting trial in June Cory filed a lawsuit suing the estate of Eric richens for $2 million and the house that they shared Eric bought the house in 2012 before they got married without Corey and never added her name to the house he had also added the house to his living trust in 2020 also on June 27th 2023 Eric’s sister Katie rich and Benson filed a lawsuit suing Corey in civil court on behalf of the living trust and the estate of Eric richens and was asking for $13 million that case states that Cory is responsible for the death of Eric and should not not have profited from his death also Corey had stolen property from the estate including money from a safe vehicles that had belonged to Eric and some off-road vehicles the civil case also includes the book that Cory wrote saying it is an unlawful book and that she used Eric’s name and likeness without permission for the book Eric’s family has also stated that they believe Corey is the only one who could have killed Eric and he had no history of drugs Cory herself also said that he didn’t do drugs Cory seems to have calculated how to kill her husband and worked hard to profit from his death for the murder charge alone Corey faces 25 to life in prison if convicted Corey has maintained her innocence during every stage of this investigation so far Corey has not been found guilty and no trial date has been set yet but it will likely be in 2024 the criminal and Civil Trial are still ongoing and are currently being investigated if you would like me to cover this case moving forward or the trial to come let me know Down Below in the early 20th century France had one of the most left-wing governments in Europe a progressive mix of centrists and socialists it passed laws guaranteeing freedom of religion and the complete separation of church and state government funding of churches was abolished and all religious buildings were nationalized a series of laws decreed free and compulsory education for all French children both boys and girls the government also introduced progressive income tax and higher rates for higher earners which was a very radical Innovation for its time overseas the French Consolidated their empire and looked to expand it they competed with Britain for new territories in Africa and strengthened their control of French Vietnam LA and Cambodia they also had to compete with Germany who were looking to gain new locations overseas the French newspapers had a massive ulation as literacy rates were at an all-time high so every decision the government made was scrutinized by the Press who had a very big influence on French society at the time henriet Kaos was born on the 5th of December 1874 in a western suburb of Paris about 12 km from the center when she was a teenager she began a friendship with Leo ferti a writer who was 12 years older than her they were married in 1893 and over the next few years she had two children in 1907 she began having an affair with the French government Minister Joseph KET while both he and she were still married in 1908 when the affair became public knowledge henriet and Leo divorced Joseph CET was born in Lum man France on the 30th of March 1863 he was an educated man who served as a minister in the French government he had a very publicized personal life as he paraded his Mistresses around with him before he was married he had a secret love affair with henriet his future second wife while he was still married to his first wife despite this he rose in the French government to become Prime Minister on June the 27th 1911 his Premiership was a short one only lasting 6 months as one of his first tasks was to attempt to diffuse a crisis over Morocco so he negotiated a settlement that gave France a protectorate over the North African Terr teritory in exchange for generous concessions to Germany in central Africa a compromise that brought a massive public attack upon his patriotism by French Press when the French Senate investigated this negotiated settlement it proved so embarrassing that Joseph Kaos was forced to resign in January 1912 Gaston KET was born on the 30th of July 1858 in Mont peler France he was a journalist and in 1884 he joined the staff of L fig in Paris 10 years later he became the papers editor Lu figuro is the oldest Daily Newspaper in France and is considered to be a paper on the center right of politics this meant that it clashed with the more liberal views of Joseph Kaos by March 1913 France had moved away from the left and had a more right-wing government this government was concerned about the mounting tensions in Europe and as France only had a population of 40 million people while German Germany had a population in excess of 70 million they proposed legislation that would increase the required length of military service from 2 to 3 years Joseph coyote and other liberals including the country’s Socialist Party were against the bill but despite this the bill was passed in June the same year Joseph did not like the outcome and rather than accepting that the vote had not gone his way he continued to attack it this angered right-wing newspapers who thought he was completely out of touch with the situation in Europe and the very popular newspaper laf figuro then decided to make him the object of a major smear Campaign which was led by Gaston calm by this time the most powerful journalist in France and editor of the paper at the beginning of December 1913 calam claimed that he would print in the figuro certain documents that would prove Caillou had obstructed Justice in a financial Scandal while serving as Minister of Finance in 1911 calam also claimed that he had been given love letters exchanged between Caillou and his second wife henriet while he was still married to his first wife and he threatened to publish them he didn’t carry out his threat and the drama calmed down then suddenly for months later on March the 13th 1914 on cat’s instruction lefigaro printed an embarrassingly intimate letter that kalao had written 13 years earlier to his mistress at the time named ber Gan who later became his first wife the publication of the letter not only publicized the affair but also exposed Joseph Caillou to suspect political dealings henriet believed the paper would follow this up by publishing her own correspondence as they had previously threatened to do on March 16th 1914 just 3 days after the letter was published enri yet instructed her chauffeur to drive her to the offices of Lu figuro she was a strange and unexpected visitor to the offices but Cal me did not hesitate to receive her she was wearing a fur coat and after being shown into his office henriet and Cente exchanged a few words then suddenly she pulled out an automatic pistol she had been concealing and fired six shots centi was hit four times and was critically wounded henriet made no attempt to escape and newspaper workers in the adjourning office quickly summon the doctor and the police the police arrived but she refused to be transported to the police headquarters in a police van insisting on being driven there by her chauffeur in her own car which was still parked outside remarkably the police agreed to this request and she was formally charged upon reaching the police headquarters Gaston carmeta died 6 hours after being shot henriet was arrested for murder and transported again in her car to the prison of St Lazar which was meant to be a very severe female institution but within days of her arrival prison officials were accused of letting her have unusual favors and Comforts she was given a private heated cell and was attended by her maid and hairdresser she was allowed special visitation Privileges and even dined with her husband in the prison director’s office this special treatment greatly upset the other prisoners and the newspapers wrote stories about the possibility of a prison Mutiny in protest the Mutiny they wrote about never materialized on July 20th 1914 The Sensational trial opened the court was full of the finest journalists in France the case dominated the newspaper headlines despite the fact that a war was threatening in the Balkans the attention of much of the French people focused instead on The Sensational case of henriet in addition to being a sensational crime the case was also a clash between left and right-wing Politics the papers limited their Foreign Affairs coverage during the trial to accommodate the commentary elaborate images and even complete transcripts of trial proceedings in court henriet was represented by celebrity lawyer fernan labori who had represented many high-profile clients and he put together a very clever defense case was dominated by emotion romance hot tempers and secret political dealings with every dramatic turn the Parisian press was present to carefully report every detail the daily newspapers reported henriette’s dramatic fainting and described her husband as he rushed to take his wife in his arms and they recorded the violent altercation between the calmet supporter Henry Bernstein a famed play playright with Joseph kaloo which resulted in the greatest uproar and disorder and ended with the trial’s temporary suspension the trial seemed to consume French life it featured a deposition from the French President an unheard of Occurrence at criminal proceedings not only in France but anywhere in the world that many of the participants were among the most powerful people in the country when henriet took the witness stand her clever defense strategy evoked the romantic and idealized notion that women were ruled by their passions hers was simply a crime of passion she claimed that at the time she was unable to control her emotions and that she was a victim and not a murderer the trial ended on July 28th 1914 the same day that Austria Hungary declared war on Serbia the prosecution had a pretty Stonewall case as the accused admitted going into the office of the editor of luf figuro and fired Six Bullets of which for hit him and killed him the defense said that she was a temporary victim of as her lawyer put it unbridled female passions the all male jury was sent out for deliberations and after one and a half hours they returned to give the verdict of not guilty amazingly the lady who had murdered an unarmed person by firing for bullets into him walked free from Court like a superstar with photographers taking her photo and reporters writing down her every move the next day the papers were full of the story and world affairs seemed far less important to the French public the trial possessed all the necessary characteristics required for an entertaining story murder romance celebrities and politics it fed a national curiosity but provided a diversion from problems in the country 6 days after the trial ended Germany declared war on France at delr Beach Florida construction workers saw an odd item floating in the inter Coastal Waterway it appeared to be a suitcase bobbing along the water as it moved and as he watched it move with the tide he saw a human body part protruding from the bag delay PD were called and arrived on the scene along with the Coast Guard and secured the bag inside were the partial dismembered human remains they continued to investigate the area and found two more bags with the remains of a single female victim they stated that the victim was in the early stages of decomposition putting her time of death sometime between July 17th and 20th her identity is currently unknown with no missing persons matching her description they say that the woman is either white or Latin American 5′ 4 in with brown hair and brown eyes and has tattooed eyebrows her estimated age is between 30 and 50 she was wearing a tank top with a unique pattern the shirt was traced back to a Brazilian brand babe she was wearing black shorts and a black undershirt as well the suitcase were all tied with red ribbons and law enforcement has provided images of two of the three suitcases at this time law enforcement is not revealing the cause of death law enforcement is asking residents in the area to check their security footage of any suspicious activity from July 15th to 24th in early July following an anonymous tip Mexican and US authorities investigated reports of a mass grave site in rosza Mexico a Border Town only 4 miles from the US border volunteers with the group for the love of the Disappeared consisting solely of relatives of the missing and murdered persons in Mexico conducted the search and uncovered what is believed to be the skeletal remains of approximately 27 people The Remains were discovered to be dismembered making both identification and cause of death difficult to determine however relatives were able to identify four victims based on tattoos though DNA confirmations have yet to be conducted officials in Mexico have stated that a thorough investigation will be conducted to identify the persons found this is unfortunately a concerning Trend in recent years with several Mass grave sites being found across the country according to the advocacy for human rights in the Americas there are over 100,000 missing people in Mexico and gangs or cartels abduct murder and dump victims into Mass Graves much like this one investigating these tips can also be quite dangerous for the volunteers as cartels have been known to leave false tips and hide explosives dozens of people including some children have been casualties after multiple attacks Mexico has decided to stop having law enforcement show up to these areas to search Now search parties mostly consist of mothers of these missing loved ones a heartbreaking sacrifice these volunteers are making to restore some answers to families a Portland Oregon jury is currently deciding the fate of 38-year-old Tony Klein the former nurse has been found guilty of using his position of authority to intimidate became the granite capital of the world its coastal location ensured that granates a historically difficult commercial material to transport could be easily exported there was a lot of work in Aberdine in the 1930s and living conditions were improving as housing slum clearance took place between 1919 and 1939 2,955 slum houses were demolished and over 6 ,500 new Authority owned houses were built John and Agnes Priestly lived on the second floor of a drab and overcrowded tenement block the imposing and dilapidated four-story building had been divided into eight two room Flats providing squalled and cramped living conditions for workingclass people they probably hoped that their building would eventually be replaced and their living conditions would vastly improve from their current oppressive surroundings at lunchtime on Saturday April 21st 1934 four Agnes Priestly sent her little 8-year-old daughter named Helen to the shops to buy a loaf of bread little Helen was well known in the neighborhood she was tall for her age and she had run the errand for her mother on many occasions as time passed Helen’s mother became increasingly worried that her daughter had not returned home concerned she asked all the neighbors if they had seen her but they hadn’t so after asking everyone she could think of the neighbors and Mrs Priestly all started looking for Helen the search failed to find the little girl and the priestle reported their daughter as missing to the police this started one of the largest searches in Aberdine history dozens of locals men women and children began searching the streets and Alleyways for any sign of the missing girl the police also broadcast Helen’s Disappearance in radio announcements and it flashed up on screens in local cinemas the search lasted until the early hours of the morning when it was suggested for Helen’s Father John Priestley who was completely exhausted should go home and get a couple of hours rest one of the neighbors named Alexander Parker promised he’d go to the Priestly home at around 5:00 a.m. so 3 hours later to wake him so they could continue the search at first light so at 5: in the morning Mr Parker headed to urkhart street but this morning would be different he turned into the clothes where the priestley’s building was and he saw a blue hessen bag lying against the wall he thought why is that there and he could not recall it being there on the previous day intrigued he opened the bag and inside was the dead body of Helen Priestley shocked confused and horrified Alexander Parker informed his friend John Priestley that his daughter was dead they contacted the police immediately and the police thought it very strange that someone had risked returning the body almost to the child’s home and so close to the area that was being searched by the police from the examination of the body it seemed the child had been strangled so it was unlikely to have been an accident of any kind but it was considered most certainly to have been murder examination also revealed bruising on the child’s upper thighs and sexual organs which meant that in all likelihood the motive had been sexual when the local community heard the news of Helen’s terrible murder they feared that a child sex attacker was on the loose so they formed vigilante groups and took to the streets armed with clubs and other weapons this wasn’t good for the police as they didn’t want to have to deal with Vigilantes while investigating the terrible murder of a little girl the police decided that as the murder was of someone so young and that the local people were also concerned that a sexual predator might be amongst them they decided to put a lot of resource into their inquiry to interview all the residents of number 61 had the prle argued had JN or Agnes ever been seen mistreating little Helen or or was there someone in the building who might have had cause to want to kill or harm the little girl it was well known that there was a continuing issue between the Donald family who occupied the flat on the ground floor and the prle who lived immediately above them the police soon discovered but one neighbor had heard a scream from a house close to the priestley’s home at about lunchtime and this was confirmed by a roof Slater from outside the area who had been working at the back of urkhart Street the same day jeie Donald had been SE shouting at Helen Priestly on a number of occasions due to Helen’s bad behavior Helen had been known to torment the Donald family she had often bullied jeie Donald’s little daughter named jeie she also kicked at the Donald’s front door and rattled the banister outside their house to annoy the family she had also shouted abuse at Mrs Donald the police took note that the Donald family were the only residents of 61 erkhart Street who had not participated in a search for Helen the police began to look a little bit closer at the Donald family and interview its members Alexander Donald was a barber he didn’t own his own business but he worked hard and was good at his job jeie Donald was a 38-year-old housewife who filled her day with household chores and looking after their daughter as police interviewed the Donald family they also investigated the hessen bag that Helen had been found in the bag revealed distinctive markings of a Canadian export stamp the police discovered but but it was a particular type of bag that was used for flower Transportation it also contained traces of washing Cinders an unusual cleaning habit that was very much out of date in the 1930s it also had saucepan marks where it had been used as a makeshift tablecloth the local Baker where Helen purchased her bread on the fateful day confirmed that they had received a shipment of flour in the same bags the baker told police that a customer had asked if she could have some of the bags and that he had given them to her her it was a while ago so he was unable to give a good description of the customer the police wondered if Helen had actually made it back to number 61 that day maybe not up the single flight of stairs to her home Helen would have had to have passed for Donald family flat had Helen kicked the door and the Donald family finally cracked and harmed the little girl they searched for Donald’s flat and found nine more identical bags to the one the body was found in each with similar saucepan stains blood stains were found on a packet of soap flakes a scrubbing brush and some cleaning cloths the evidence was starting to mount against the Donalds the police asked to Sydney Smith a very well-known professor of forensic medicine in Edinburgh to examine the flat he discovered that little Helen had suffered from a rare condition that caused her to produce an extremely rare bacterium this meant that she would often faint microbiological tests showed that this bacterium was found in many places in the McDonald’s flat sir Sydney examined the dust fibers in the bag and they were the exact match to the dust found in McDonald’s flat blood stains in the flat were the same blood group as Helen Mr Alexander Donald was arrested had he finally snapped and murdered the naughty little girl or did he rape her first then murder her the police thought that they had caught the perpetrator of his terrible crime people gathered outside the flats wanting to attack Mr Donald but the police manag to get him into the police van and take him to the police station without the Vigilante groups taking the Law into their own hands when the police started to interview him they were shocked as Mr Donald had a rock solid Alibi he told police he had been working on the day of the murder when the police investigated this many witnesses came forward all of whom were willing to state that at the time of Helen’s murder he had been miles away at the barber shop cutting hair the police were suck if Mr Donald wasn’t the killer then who was as forensics seemed to point to Helen being killed inside the Donald’s flat they then focused on his wife Mrs Jeanie Donald by professor John glaster of Glasgow University he could say Beyond doubt that Jeanie Donald’s hair perfectly matched hair found on the body and the blue hessen bag the police were shocked as all the evidence now pointed to jeie Donald being the murderer they arrested jeie and charged her with with murder as the trial approached the newspapers reported the facts of the case they wrote that the case showed that a woman could commit crimes as horrific as a man but they also highlighted that despite the modernization of authority run houses in the country many people in Scotland still lived in cramped and unfit living conditions on Monday July 16th 1934 the trial of Genie Donald commenced at Edinburgh High Court before judge Lord Craig Mason aeson the the defense was simple jeie could not have committed the murder as she was physically incapable of raping a young girl the motive for murder being so obviously sexual the prosecution however had carried out extensive tests on Helen priestley’s body one thing that sir Sydney Smith was always worried about was the fact that no seen had been found on Helen’s body when he had examined the bruises and abrasions more closely he concluded that they had not been committed during a rape but by an object object such as a broom handle to try and make the murder look like it was a result of a sexual attack the forensic evidence seemed very solid that the loaf of bread they ate that day looked and tasted different from the bread they usually buy jeie Donald did not testify the jury was sent out to consider the verdict but it took just 18 minutes for them to return the verdict of guilty jeie was sentenced to death by hanging she was taken to Craig inch’s prison Aberdine to await execution on the 3rd of August 1934 Genie’s lawyers lodged an appeal and remarkably the Secretary of State commuted her sentence to life in prison she was then transferred to the female jail in Duke Street Glasgow to serve out her sentence in jail she was a model prisoner but it was still a surprise that when her husband Alexander Donald fell terminally ill with cancer in June 1944 Genie was granted compassionate leave to care for him when he eventually died the the authorities decided that jeie should be allowed to remain a free woman she lived the rest of her life under an assumed name and died 32 years later in 1976 at the age of 81 she never publicly spoke about her reasons for murdering little 8-year-old Helen Priestley
