think it’s a good idea to include some gravel sectors in a ground Tour stage yeah it seems to be the way it’s going now anyway but um yeah you need to be able to do a bit of everything but you know sometimes is a bit uh you know it could end someone’s GC um you know if Luck’s not on your side but you know that’s bike race at the end of the day so you know he’s um got race to race

Honestly, THAT'S what separates a GRAND tour from single-day and one-week stage races! The attrition, the diversity and variety; action/REaction; endurance and stamina. Frankly, a Grand tour with NO hardship, is just a "grand" tour. Whaa whaa. People want a REAL Grand tour. Retort received Geraint, carry on soldier.
