Oh wow! Look at the yoga in progress in the back -I also wanna do this with you -Really? -So, we rented some bikes cuz that’s the thing you do when you’re in Munster You gotta ride a bike -If you came to the cycling capital of Germany and did not do cycling, then it’s a lost opportunity Where will we go, renting the cycle? -Umm… everywhere! -But especially we will go to your old home We will go see where you used to live -Let’s go boys! -These bikes actually belong to the hotel The weather of Munster is generally extremely rainy But by chance, it is so sunny today that not a cloud is to be seen in the sky! Cycling is extremely pleasant here There’s neither traffic nor a concern about cars You can see that the infrastructure for cycling has been very well built And only cycles are allowed in this lane One can easily tell the cycling lanes even on the roads All the red portions are ear marked for cycling Black portion of the roads is for cars while the red portion is for cycles This is your home street… -Yeah Everything looks so tiny now and so, so green I remember it was a lot bigger -Really? -Yeah -All my friends were here on the street -Juli is going to meet her childhood friend So, I’ll roam around this city alone for a couple of hours on the cycle It isn’t that the people here don’t own cars. You can see so many cars standing outside houses But what’s interesting is that it is presently 11 o clock on a Monday morning So, you can guess that when people go to work, then they do not go in cars. Instead, they go on cycles to work and you can see the red houses made of red bricks- this is the specialty of Munster Most of the houses here are made of such red bricks The Promenade road that you see surrounds the inner city almost from all sides This is the tree fringed route that we were cycling on You can see the greenery all around it As soon as this cycling route comes, you can guess that the old city is somewhere nearby This is our hotel here, this is the main Dom and the church is somewhere here This is amazing! The vine has risen so high here And this is the "Aasee", that is, our lake The name of the lake is literally "AA" We will go here as well There isn’t a problem in finding vegetarian food in Munster, but in a lot of cities that I travel to I have a lot of problem (in finding vegetarian food) and so whenever I travel anywhere, I carry protein along with me Okay, so this was the point when my phone gave up- it was recording the video but not the audio After this, we saw the Aasee. You can see that’s the Aasee in the background -Aasee -Aa Lake Come lake! (because "Aa" is "come" in Hindi) -Looks like we’re turning now… oooh! So, we’re now at the Schloss … and then you’re .. what are you explaining? Some fun facts spitting some facts… Oh, and there was some… Oh! And there was some… something to look through -Why are you looking through the telescope? I think you’re looking to see what we can look through this -Yeah! -As you can see, there was nothing special visible Apparently, you could see woodpeckers, see? Let me see what’s on the board One moment… not there There we go! Woodpecker! Now I’m explaining. See? Yeah And now, you’re having a look too -Oh, there’s a hole there -Oh, that’s the hole! Exactly! -Oh… That’s the woodpecker -Told you! So, you need some patience and if you’re lucky, you get to see them Next thing was this dead tree They let it lie there and they had an info board The info board said that this tree had been cut down -…thousands of years old, was it? -Very, very old. 600-800 years -Yeah and it was cut down because of safety reasons because it was such an old tree! But what are you doing over there? -Yeah, I think I don’t wanna be filmed! Aaaaah! I don’t wanna be filmed! -Okay, that’s why I take over and now I start explaining what’s behind this tree The story behind this old, old tree -Well, the story is that they put it there because it looks dead, but there’s thousands of microorganisms, plants and animals that are living there, still -Oh, so it’s a dead tree but it’s still a living habitat/ ecosystem in itself -Exactly, it’s very important and it’s full of life. So, that’s why they left it there to slowly… decay, I guess -Yuck! That looks yucky! -Well, it wasn’t… -Gives me that hole phobia -Going back… blinded by the sun I forgot my "kala chashma" (goggles) -What are you pointing at, here? -Just explaining… -That that is a young tree, that is an old tree..? -Oh, yeah, yeah… They put exactly the same type of tree right next to it -Oh… -So, this is the… the small one is the young tree and the old one is the big dead one It’s the same kind of tree… One day, it’ll be as big. -oh, okay! -Oh! -So, now we’re sitting in front of the palace You’re posing -Oh, yeah, I’m posing Then you’re coming to sit next…. Oh, yeah See, I’m saying, come sit here Oh, now I’m checking whether you have any grass spots because… -It’s okay, I don’t care… -But I care. See? That’s not good… I’m telling you not to.. I had no idea you were gonna do this! -That was just me being my old Tom Cruise self -unfortunately, there was a problem with the voice in the camera There was a bug. We have now restarted the phone and the voice is now being recorded -Should we go on? -Yeah, let’s go on There’s a red line on this bridge and it says that the road is for cycling, but it’s free for cars as well. The cars can come too, but the cycles have a priority The veganism movement here is very strong Such signs are all around to see There is a Santorini here in Munster as well Here, have it! No…. Look, the dustbin goes here and automatically…. the trash gets emptied
