[Music] welcome to donon park we’re here today to catch up with a Martin as they prepare for round one of the European endurance [Music] classic yeah we’re here today at Donington Park we’ve we’ve bought the two new bikes that we’ve managed to build up since last season we’ve um got the engine repaired from the the bike that was sadly uh snapped in half at uh at the classic bore and um that’s all been nicely repaired all backed together so that’s the number one race bike and um we’re using that today we’ve got Casey Gorman and Dan Burnham both be riding for us this year in the endurance series they’re going to be joined by Lance slot unisar our French Rider who’s done um several races for us before you know we’re looking forward to meeting up with him again he can’t be here today cuz he’s racing at the Northwest 200 on his CBR 600 so good luck to him there but yeah Test’s going well we’ve um had the bikes on the dyno and we’ve had them about on track now both Riders very happy with the bikes they’re going really well obviously Casey’s putting in some stoning lap [Music] times and Dan’s first time he’s ever ridden a classic race bike first time he’s ever ridden R3 so but he’s really you know he’s really impressed me and he’s really getting to grips with it and he’s feels really comfortable on it I’m Casey o’ Goran and this year I’m riding in the junior GP with Team Australia Gia and I also done the European Classic Insurance with Ian Martin and team bike just a Shakedown really as I haven’t ridden the rc3 since the bow of door last year so yeah just getting back use of the bike and also Dan trying to get use of the bike as he’s riding for the first time was meant to be a bit of a quiet year but ended up getting off of the ride with you know Ian and team bike so on this is in the European classic endurance of the rc3 so amazing opportunity for me couldn’t obviously turn it down from kind of I’m assuming is second to third yeah so it been in GE drop in and then it spin up okay this is my first time out on the bike and the first time for the bike out be rebuilt so it’s been uh yeah definitely a little bit of a change some you know different to what I’m used to I’ve only ever Road modern bikes um getting used to this is a yeah like I say big change mechanical throttle um no quick shifter no flipper handles completely different Tri really light really nimble like yeah an incredible bike for there well I’m used to a lot more modern bikes where I can just bang it down the gearbox and D we’ll do the work but um been told off a few times for going down the gears a bit too fast for the older engines can’t Co with it but yeah uh the call is really well the front’s really nice and yeah it’s quite fast was definitely very nervous took a few sessions to warm into it but yeah I’m happy foring Lu I can go go fairly well on it what the first few laps feel like then when you were out on it yeah pretty uh very different little bit scary to say the least but uh definitely different um yeah Dino was asking me if I’d be happy racing it after like the second session I pretty much said no definitely wouldn’t want to race it yet um but another couple of sessions and it got easier and easier and it all started to click so we kind of quit while we’re ahead packed up the bike now and then uh off to France next week to for the first round in Paul Ricard which is also at night as well so it’s um yeah new bike I’ve only just rode here a new track that I’ve never been to before I’m racing at night which I’ve never raced at night so yeah quite a lot of variables to try and get used to pretty quickly but yeah I’m fairly confident I think we’ll be okay we’re doing pretty well in the National Endurance on the triumphs at the moment so hopefully I we continue that in the as well so we leave next Monday for France and first RAC is at um what they call the Sunday ride classic which is a big classic event at circuit Paul Ricard and we’re doing a 4-Hour endurance race you know all in the night so um I fitted the double head lights now was you know usually we’d only run a single one like the Balor because the the balore classic is part of the balore 24-hour um race they light all the corners with flood lights but although we’re racing at the same circuit there won’t be any lights so we got to rely on our own so I fitted a couple of um high power LEDs and we usually try and set them at slightly different heights so that when you’re breaking turning into the corners you can still see the track when you’re go so that’s the the ideal thing of having two lights is you can have them set slightly differently after PA recard was supposed to be naara in June but that’s been cancelled or at least postponed until November so we’ll be at po which is down near buits in France we raced a 4-Hour race there last year and came second did very well so we’re going back there Casey will be joining us the the first round that Paul Ricard is just going to be Lance Lot and Dan because it clashes with Casey’s Junior GP the second round in the middle of July is going to be Casey and Dan and then um we’re going to be doing the balore which sadly again Casey can’t race in that one either and then we’ve got a 3H hour with which backs on to the No Limits race here at Donnington in October so Casey will be back on the bike for that one so it’s quite a full season really thanks for watching if you enjoy this kind of content then please do like and subscribe and we’ll see you again soon

    1. Sorry to be a doubter, but those riders leathers say it all, the only other leathers ive ever seen like that was back in the 70's at cadwell pk, when i raced my yr5 350 yamaha proddy bike and later td2/td3/tz 250 yamaha's,. In those days ron haslam and his brothers phill and terry raced for mal carter and they were at some of the meetings i was entered into, ron and phills leathers told a story of how many crashes they had in previous races, scary stuff especially when you lined up on the grid with them, phill mellor was another warrior, i always remember mick patrick, he was mr immaculate, leathers bike the lot, i just hope team bike have loads of spares and dont end up with a 2 piece rc30 like the one pictured, endurance racing is a hard old game thats for sure, cheers R&R.

    2. My favourite videos of yours have been the Team Bike ones. They were great days as a young lad, riding to Paul Ricard with some great mates for the Bol 👍
